I RECEIVED A NOTICE MONTHS AGO FROM TOYOTA THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR MODULE IS DEFECTIVE. THEY STATED THAT A PASSENGER SHOULD NOT RIDE IN THE CAR UNTIL THE DEFECT IS FIXED. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY CAN'T IMMEDIATELY FIX THIS ISSUE.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED AWAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE POLICE DROVE THE CONTACT TO HER RESIDENCE IN THE POLICE CRUISER. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECALL WHETHER THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE CARRY A FRONT PASSENGER IN MY VEHICLE SINCE I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL IN JUNE. IT IS VERY INCONVENIENT AND I JUST WANT IT FIXED AS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
TAKATA RECALL- WE RECEIVED THE NOTICE FOR THE RECALL AND CALLED OUR LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER. THEY INFORMED US THAT WE WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN PARTS CAME IN. A FEW MONTHS LATER, WE RECEIVED A NOTICE INDICATING THAT PARTS HAD BEEN MANUFACTURED FOR OUR LOCATION. WE CALLED AGAIN AND WERE TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS AND THAT A SUPERVISOR WOULD CALL US BACK. WE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. WE CALLED BACK AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER AND WERE TOLD THE SAME EXACT THING, INCLUDING THAT WE WOULD GET A CALL BACK FROM THE SUPERVISOR. WE RECEIVED NO CALL BACK. WE CALLED ONE LAST TIME (AFTER BATTLING WITH THIS FOR OVER A YEAR), AND WERE TOLD THE EXACT SAME THING. WE EVEN SAID, "CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE HE ACTUALLY CALLS US BACK THIS TIME? WE HAVE BEEN PROMISED MANY CALLS BACK BEFORE AND NEVER GOTTEN THEM." WELL, NO CALL BACK! IN THE MEANTIME, WE HAVE TO AVOID TRAVELING WITH PASSENGERS WHICH IS A MASSIVE INCONVENIENCE, ESPECIALLY WITH TWO BUSY CHILDREN. WE HAD THIS SAME RECALL WITH OUR HONDA AND IT WAS COMPLETELY SOLVED WITHIN 6 MONTHS.

WE RECEIVED A NOTICE IN JUNE REGARDING A RECALL OF OUR FAMILY VEHICLE (TOYOTA COROLLA MATRIX 2005) FOR A DEFECT RELATED TO THE AIRBAGS. ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT, IT HAS TO DO WITH THE AIR BAG INFLATORS AND, DEPENDING ON CIRCUMSTANCE, COULD RUPTURE AND CAUSE METAL FRAGMENTS TO PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG CUSHIONED MATERIAL RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH. WE WERE TOLD THAT UNTIL A REMEDY BECAUSE AVAILABLE IN OUR LOCATION TO HAVE NO ONE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. THAT WAS THREE MONTHS AGO. I JUST LOOKED UP THE STATUS AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE IN OUR AREA. THIS IS NOT A MINOR ISSUE. IT'S CAUSED UNDUE STRESS AND INCONVENIENCE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SUMMER. WE HAVE A BABY ON THE WAY AND ARE CONCERNED THAT THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY IN PLACE, AND WE FEEL A SOLUTION HAS NOT BEEN PROVIDED IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. WE PLAN ON CALLING TOYOTA DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY WAY WE CAN FIX THE ISSUE OURSELVES AND THEN SUBMIT FOR A REIMBURSEMENT. SIMPLY TELLING CUSTOMERS TO HAVE NO ONE RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION--SUCH AS WHEN WE CAN EXPECT PARTS TO BECOME AVAILABLE--IS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. PLUS, IF WE HAVE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OURSELVES, IT WILL CAUSE UNNECESSARY STRAIN ON OUR ALREADY TIGHT BUDGET.
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REFERENCE TO THE TOYOTA RECALL DESCRIBED BELOW (PER HTTP://WWW.TOYOTA.COM/RECALL). THE RECALL DATE WAS JUNE 16, 2015 (TODAY'S DATE IS 08 SEPTEMBER 2015) AND TOYOTA HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME BECAUSE THE REMEDY PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR MY VIN. DESCRIPTION THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATORS WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO HAVE A POTENTIAL FOR THE INTRUSION OF MOISTURE OVER TIME. DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS COULD CREATE EXCESSIVE INTERNAL PRESSURE WHEN THE AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED AND CAUSE THE INFLATOR TO RUPTURE. IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING AND POTENTIALLY SERIOUSLY INJURING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS IN A CRASH. REMEDY TOYOTA IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON OBTAINING THE REMEDY PARTS FOR SUBSEQUENT PHASES OF THIS SAFETY RECALL. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED AS REMEDY PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, TOYOTA DEALERS ARE REQUESTED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG INFLATOR MODULE AT NO CHARGE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA ABOUT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IN MY CAR, AS YOU KNOW. IT HAS NOW BEEN FOUR MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL AND THERE IS NO WORD FROM TOYOTA ABOUT REPLACING THE AIRBAG. THEY HAVE ADVISED ME NOT TO HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG IS REPLACED. IT'S RIDICULOUS TO GO FOUR MONTHS WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO HAVE A PASSENGER. THEY NEED TO SPEED THIS UP. THEY AREN'T PROVIDING ME WHAT I PURCHASED--WHICH IS A CAR THAT I CAN SAFELY HAVE A PASSENGER IN.
