RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE (AUG'15) FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR WHICH IN THE EVENT OF A RUPTURE (AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT), METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. SINCE THIS WAS JUST A NOTICE AND NOT A REQUEST TO FIX THE SAFETY RECALL, I HAVE WAITED OVER A MONTH AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TODAY (9/9/15), THEY TOO HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT ANY UPDATES TO REPAIRING THE CAR. DUE TO THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THIS RECALL AND HUGE INCONVENIENCE OF NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF AN ECONOMY CAR, I WANTED TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT. I BELIEVE THIS IS WAY TOO LONG TO NOT HEAR ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA ABOUT A REPAIR.

VEHICLE WAS RECALLED MONTHS AGO DUE TO DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS. CAR DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT BEEN SUPPLIED WITH REPAIR PARTS AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT MAY BE SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE I'M NOTIFIED. I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE SINCE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CANNOT BE USED UNTIL THE AIRBAG IS REPLACED.
STILL WAITING FOR CORRECTED AIRBAGS. CALLED LOCAL TOYOTA IN AUGUST AND THEY SAID PART WOULD TAKE A MONTH TO GET. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER! STILL NO PART IT TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. VERY INCONVENIENT!!

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND ATTEMPTED TO SEEK THE SUGGESTED REMEDY. HOWEVER, I LIVE IN A BETHEL, ALASKA, WHICH IS OFF THE ROAD SYSTEM. VEHICLES ARE SHIPPED VIA AIRPLANE OR BARGE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS NO TOYOTA DEALER WHERE I LIVE. THE NEAREST ONE IS IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA. AS A RESULT, I CANNOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TOYOTA'S OFFER TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG FREE OF CHARGE. I CALLED TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP IN ORDER TO REPLACE ITS AIRBAG. HOWEVER, SHIPPING MY VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WOULD COST IN EXCESS OF $6000 (I OWE APPROXIMATELY $6000 ON THE VEHICLE). I ASKED IF THEY COULD SHIP ME THE PART SO SOMEONE COULD INSTALL IT HERE IN BETHEL. THEY SAID NO. I ASKED WHETHER I COULD DISCONNECT THE AIR BAG AND THEY SAID NO. I'M NOT SURE WHAT MY OPTIONS ARE; HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO USE MY VEHICLE. CAN YOU OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE? UPDATED 10/9/15 *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK, BACK, HEAD, AND CHEST INJURIES AND BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND ATTORNEY OF THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN REGARDS TO MY 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR MODULE. IN RESPONSE TO THE NOTICE, I CALLED THE RECOMMENDED TOYOTA DEALER FOR ST PETERSBURG FL AT 8501 US HWY 19 N, PINELLAS PARK FL 33781 ON JULY 28, AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD TAKE TWO WEEKS TO HAVE THE PART IN AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL FROM THEM TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR. MORE THAN TWO WEEKS HAS PASSED AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALL FROM THEM. TODAY, AUGUST 14, I CALLED TO FOLLOW-UP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER TWO WEEKS, A MONTH, OR MAYBE LONGER. THE FIRST TIME I CALLED THEY DID NOT COLLECT MY VIN NUMBER, AND THIS TIME THEY ASKED FOR THE VIN AND SAID THAT THEY CAN ONLY TAKE ACTION WITH A VIN, LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT MY FIRST CALL WAS NOT EVEN CAPTURED. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME ACTION TAKEN TO HAVE THE PART AVAILABLE AND MY VEHICLE REPAIRED.

I HAVE RECIEVED THE RECALL NOTICE FOR MY 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT AFTER OPENING THE DOOR PANEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR, THAT A CRITICAL PART (A LARGE HEAD BOLT) WAS NEEDED BUT THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY IN STOCK. THEY STATED (AND I CONFIRMED WITH THEIR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER) THAT TOYOTA WILL ONLY RELEASE 5 OF THE LARGE HEADED BOLTS A DAY TO THE DEALERS. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT 128 PEOPLE WERE AHEAD OF ME IN LINE FOR THIS PART MAKING IT VERY CLEAR THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE NECESSAY REPAIR DONE FOR OVER 3 WEEKS. TOYOTA CONFIRMED THAT I AM EXPECTED TO DRIVE AROUND WITH A FAULTY AIR BAG STSTEN FOR OVER 3 WEEKS. IT IS APPALLING TO ME THAT TOYOTA WOULD PUT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLES LIVES IN DANGER LIKE THIS BY NOT SUPPLYING THE NECESSARY PARTS IN A TIMLEY MANNER. HOW CAN THE GOVERNMENT ALLOW THIS? WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS? I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE AROUND FOR OVER 3 WEEKS KNOWING WHAT I KNOW ABOUT MY CAR'S AIRBAG SYSTEM. I EXPECT YOU TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATLEY TO AVOID LARGE SCALE NEGATIVE PUBLICITY FOR TOYOTA AND FOR YOUR AGENCY AND THE LACK OF OVERSITE ON YOUR PART.

RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATION MODULE. CALLED BERGLUND TOYOTA IN LYNCHBURG, VIRGINA TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO SCHEDULE THE SERVICE. LEFT 2 MESSAGES REGARDING MY CALL INCLUDING THE VIN NUMBER OF MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. I WILL TRY ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALER THAT IS 2 HOURS AWAY AND SEE IF I CAN GET SOMETHING SCHEDULED WITH THEM. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT A RECALL THAT STATES "DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE" IF THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED WOULD PROMPT THE DEALERSHIP TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER 7/20/2015 AT 11:20AM VIA PHONE. HE SAID THEY WERE UNAWARE AND THEY NOTED HE ORDERED THE PARTS AND UNSURE WHEN THEY WILL BE IN BUT WOULD CONTACT ME. I JUST WANT A RECORD OF THIS IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS AND THEY ARE AWARE.

I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ITEM HAD TO BE ORDERED, AND COULD TAKE 6-8 WEEKS, OR LONGER, BEFORE THE PART IS AVAILABLE. PERSONALLY, I FEEL THAT , THE TIME PERIOD GIVEN IS SOMEWHAT UNREASONABLE. CONSEQUENTLY, THIS IS MY FORMAL COMPLAINT.

WE RECEIVED THE PASSENGER AIR BAG NOTIFICATION AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON 7/18/15. CALLED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE TO SEE IF WE HAD "DROPPED THROUGH THE CRACKS." ALWAYS TOLD THE PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED. TODAY, 9/15/15, I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL DEALER TO PLEASE CALL CORPORATE AND COMPLAIN. DID SO. CORPORATE TOYOTA ALSO HAD THE SAME STORY THAT THE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED. SEEMS LIKE A RECALL THAT IS "SMOKE AND MIRRORS." IF THESE AIR BAGS ARE UNSAFE, THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED BY THEM.
