TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE COMPUTER IS RELATED TO THE GEARS AND POWER WINDOWS. WHENEVER THE GEARS ARE BEING SHIFTED, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE SEVERELY. THE CONTACT HAD TO GET NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS INSTALLED FOUR TIMES SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE RECEIVED NUMEROUS ALIGNMENTS BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. TWO SENSORS ALSO CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT THE FAILURES STILL PERSIST. ALL OF THE FAILURES BEGAN FIVE MONTHS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
IT WAS NORMAL SUNNY DAY AND SMOOTH TRAFFIC I WAS DRIVING TOYOTA COROLLA(2007) ON I-295 NORTH IN NJ AND WAS ON LEFTMOST LANE @ AROUND 70 MPH IN HAMILTON AREA NEAR EXIT 65. THEN SUDDENLY IT WENT OUT OF CONTROL SPINNING AROUND ON HIGHWAY . IT WENT SPINNING FROM LEFT MOST LANE TO RIGHT SHOULDER SPINNING 2-3 TIMES . LUCKILY NO BODY WAS INJURED AND NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED BUT MY CAR HAD TO BE TOTALED I REQUESTED CAR COMPANY (TOYOTA) TO PROPERLY INSPECT THE VEHICLE IF IT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH SOFTWARE AND ALSO BRAKES AS THERE WAS NO REASON FOR SPINNING WHILE DRIVING AROUND 70MPH . CONSIDERING THE WAY CAR SPUN AT THAT TIME IT WAS EVIDENT LOCKING OF FRONT WHEELS SUDDENLY MAY BE THE ONE OF THE REASONS . COMPANY NEVER CONTACTED ME BACK AGAIN THEY HAD PROMISED TO GET BACK TO ME AFTER INSPECTION WAS DONE BY COMPANY INSPECTOR/ENGINEER. *TR
FRONT END COLLISION A T 40 MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY CHILD WAS INJURED , AND IT WAS THE SECOND TOYOTA THAT I HAVE OWNED WHERE THERE WAS A FRONT CRASH, AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END CRASH WITH THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED HAND, CHEST INJURIES FROM THE SEAT BELT RETRACTION, A WHIPLASH, AND KNEE INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 9,000.
VEH PURCHASED NEW MAY, 2007. IT HAD LESS THAN 150 MILES ON IT WHEN THE 1ST INCIDENT HAPPENED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A GRADE AT APPROX 65 MPH. THERE WAS A TRAFFIC LIGHT APPROX 350 TO 450 FT AHEAD. I KNEW I COULD NOT MAKE THE LIGHT SO I APPLIED MY BRAKES. THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE SEEMED TO SEIZE UP AND SURGE AND MY BRAKES WERE ALMOST USELESS. IT IS AN AUTO TRANSMISSION & ALL I COULD THINK TO DO TO STOP WAS BRAKE HARD & SHIFT INTO PARK. THIS DID STOP IT...BUT I WAS FRIGHTENED. SUBSEQUENTLY, APPROX TWO MONTHS LATER, WHILE ON VACATION OUT OF STATE, THE VEH STARTED MAKING A TICKING SOUND AS SOON AS THE ENGINE HIT 3000 RPM'S. UPON RETURNING TO CA I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND TOLD HIM ABOUT BOTH PROBLEMS. THEY SUPPOSEDLY PUT IT ON THEIR SCOPE & NO DIAGNOSES CODE APPEARED. THEY SAID THE NOISE WAS A LOOSE HOSE??? FUNNY IT ONLY TICKED AT EXACTLY 3000 RPM'S!!!. THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE SEIZING AND SURGING. THIS CAR HAS NOW DONE THIS SEIZING AND SURGING THING THREE MORE TIMES. IT IS SCARY AND FRIGHTENING!! THE 2ND & 3RD TIMES, I AGAIN WAS ON A DOWN GRADE GOING AROUND 65 MPH AT AROUND 3000 RPM'S. AGAIN IT WAS A SITUATION WHERE I BRAKED THAT CAUSED THE SEIZING THEN SURGING. THE LAST & 4TH TIME THIS THING HAPPENED WAS LAST WEEK. I WAS IDLING IN A DRIVE THROUGH , WAITING FOR MY FOOD. THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN DRIVE & I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. IT WAS IN THIS POSITION FOR ABOUT 5-7 MINUTES, MOVING SLOWLY FORWARD EVERY 1-2 MINUTES. IT WAS A WARMER DAY- AS I MOVED FORWARD AGAIN, I PUSHED THE A/C BUTTON TO CIRCULATE SOME AIR. SUDDENLY, THE CAR SURGED FORWARD..MADE AN AWFUL SOUND & NO AMOUNT OF BRAKING SEEMED TO HOLD IT . AGAIN, AS WITH THE VERY FIRST TIME, THIS BROUGHT THE CAR INTO CONTROL! I WORK OUT OF TOWN AND DEPEND ON HAVING A CAR....BUT I AM GETTING SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I HAVE APPROX 8,500 MILES ON IT NOW. I DON'T KNOW IF I TRUST THE DEALER TO TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY & WOULD REALLY LIKE TOYOTA'S HELP. *TR
ON 5/30/07 I PICKED UP A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA CE..AT THE TIME OF THE TEST DRIVE I DID NOT NOTICE THIS SAFETY ISSUE & PERHAPS IT WAS DUE TO THE DISTRACTION OF THE SALES PERSON'S CONSTANT TALKING.. SINCE I AM SHORT I NEED TO MOVE THE SEAT UP FORWARD TO BE COMFORTABLE WHEN DRIVING & TO BE ABLE TO SEE CLEARLY, BUT ONCE I MOVE THE SEAT FORWARD & TILT THE STEERING WHEEL SO THAT I CAN DRIVE COMFORTABLY & SAFELY I CANNOT SEE ALL OF THE SPEEDOMETER READINGS.. ON THE LEFT I CAN SEE 0-20 MPH & ON THE RIGHT I CAN SEE 90-110 MPH ANYTHING IN BETWEEN IS NOT AT EYE LEVEL & I CANNOT SEE THE SPEEDOMETER READINGS.. WHEN I DRIVE IN ORDER TO SEE MY SPEED I NEED TO TAKE MY EYES OFF THE ROAD LOOK DOWN & UNDER THE TOP PART OF THE STEERING WHEEL.. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN DOING 70 MPH ON A PARKWAY WHICH I NEEDED TO DO & I CONSIDER IT TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS TOYOTA.. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT TOYOTA ACTUALLY PUT THIS OUT ON THE MARKET. HOW DID THIS VEHICLE PASS SAFETY TESTS ? ALSO, ON THIS EXACT SAME VEHICLE I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT ON THE TIRES ODI # 10200011 WHICH I AM STILL HAVING A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM WITH.. ON 5/30/07 I LEASED A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA, IT CAME EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR INTEGRITY TIRES P185/65R15 . ON 7/21/07 I WENT TO THE DEALER & TOLD THEM I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR RETENTION IN THE TIRES. IT HAD BECOME NECESSARY WITH THIS CAR & THESE GOODYEAR INTEGRITY TIRES TO CHECK THE TIRES WEEKLY & ADD AIR AT THAT SAME TIME. I ALSO STRONGLY FELT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM EITHER WITH THE TIRES OR THE VALVE STEMS & ASKED THAT THEY CHECK THEM. THEY CHECKED THE TIRES & INFORMED ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE, MILEAGE AT THAT TIME WAS 503 MILES. SINCE I CONTINUE TO FEEL UNSAFE WITH THESE TIRES EVERY TIME I GO OUT I CHECK THE TIRES & PUT THE REQUIRED AIR IN. ON 8/17/07 I CONTACTED GOODYEAR & EXPLAINED IN DETAIL THE SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES OR THEIR MANUFACTURE GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER 918405 & SENT ME TO THE NEAREST GOODYEAR STORE TO HAVE THE TIRES & VALVE STEMS CHECKED. THE SERVICE PERSON AT THE STORE TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH THE TIRES & ASKED WHAT TYPE OF A TIRE GAUGE I WAS USING & SOMETIMES THEY ARE NOT ACCURATE. AT 67 YRS OF AGE I KNOW HOW TO CHECK TIRE PRESSURE & I CAN ALSO TELL BY THE WAY THE CAR DRIVES, HANDLES, & STOPS THAT THE TIRES ARE NOT AT THE RECOMMENDED AIR PRESSURE. I DON'T DO A LOT OF DRIVING (MILEAGE NOW 956) BUT WHEN I GO BACK TO WORK I WANT TO FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING. I AM TERRIFIED WHEN I DRIVE THIS CAR SINCE I FEEL IT HAS EXTREME SAFETY ISSUES WHERE THESE TIRES ARE CONCERNED & I DO NOT WANT TO BECOME A STATISTIC NOR DO I WANT TO KILL SOMEONE. I PURCHASED A TOYOTA COROLLA IN APRIL OF 2007 AND RETURNED IT FOR SERVICE IN MAY OF 2007 OR ONE MONTH LATER AS STATE ON THE SERVICE REPORT,"CUSTOMER STATE THE CAR FEELS LIKE THE CAR WANTS TO KEEP GOING AFTER LET OF THE GAS TAKES MORE EFFORT TO SLOW THE CAR". THE DEALER STATED THAT NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. HOWEVER, I HAVEN'T BEEN INFORMED OF ANY RECALLS OR CORRECTIVE ACTIONS. I REPORTED THIS 3 YEARS AGO. I WILL STILL AT TIMES GET THE BRAKES FIGHTING THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM. I HAVE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION FROM THE DEALER ON THE CLAIM. *TR UPDATED 09/15/10
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT ABOUT MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. I PURCHASED MY CAR IN JANUARY 2007. I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE. THE IS A VIBRATION I FEEL COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. MY CAR STOPPED ON THE LI EXPRESSWAY DUE TO 2 SENSORS THAT NO LONGER WORKED. THERE IS A SHAKING IN MY TIRES & EVERY TIME I TURN MY CAR ON THERE IS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. *TR
I LEASED THIS TOYOTA COROLLA CE IN MAY 2007 (NEW) & SINCE THAT FIRST DAY THE DRIVER'S SEAT CONSTANTLY MOVES OUT OF POSITION 1/2 INCH OR MORE IN ALL DIRECTIONS.. EVERY TIME I GET IN TO THE CAR I HAVE TO RE-ADJUST THE SEAT & I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS.. I HOPE NO ONE EVER HITS ME IN THE REAR BECAUSE THE SEAT WILL MOVE IN SOME DIRECTION & OUT OF ALIGNMENT WITH THE AIR BAG IF THAT EVEN OPENS.. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM UNTIL I JUST READ ANOTHER COMPLAINT FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME VEHICLE.. I HAVE FILED 4 LEMON LAW COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE FOR VARIOUS ISSUES INCLUDING THE TIRES & TOYOTA CLAIMS THESE COMPLAINTS ARE ALL THE RESULT OF 'DESIGN FLAWS' & REFUSES TO FIX ANY OF THE COMPLAINTS & PASSES THE TIRE PROBLEM OFF TO GOODYEAR WHO THEN PASSES THE PROBLEM BACK TO TOYOTA.. THIS VEHICLE IS THE WORSE CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED AND IS A DEATH TRAP EVEN THE SEAT BELTS DON'T WORK CORRECTLY.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED SINCE PURCHASE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR TIMES IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE. THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND REPAIRS WERE MADE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V384000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE REPAIR SHOULD HAVE CORRECTED THE FAILURE, BUT IT DID NOT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA LE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE CONTROL PANEL. HE STATED THAT ALL THE INDICATORS ON THE CONTROL PANEL ARE RED IN COLOR AGAINST A BLACK BACKGROUND. THE INDICATORS ARE ALSO VERY THIN. AT NIGHT, THE CONTROL PANEL IS VERY EASY TO READ. DURING THE DAY, ESPECIALLY A SUNNY DAY, THE INDICATORS ARE NOT VISIBLE AT ALL. THE CONTACT IS MOST CONCERNED WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE SPEED THAT HE IS DRIVING ON THE SPEEDOMETER. HE STATED THAT THIS IS AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 390 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30.
2007 TOYOTA COROLLA CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE DEALERSHIP LIED TO HER ABOUT THE CAR **CC THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN PURCHASING THE VEHICLE THAT HIS GRANDDAUGHTER DID NOT KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT CARS AND PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE WITH POWER LOCKS AND WINDOWS. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE GRANDDAUGHTER WAS OPENING THE CAR WITH A KEY AND NOT WITH A REMOTE CONTROL OPENER. IMMEDIATELY, THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM. A DIFFERENT SALESPERSON INFORMED THEM THAT ORIGINAL SALES REP WAS NOT IN THAT DAY AND WHAT THE GRANDDAUGHTER RECEIVED WAS POWER LOCK BUT THAT IT ONLY AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ON THE INSIDE NOT OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THE REMOTE CONTROL WAS AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING THE REMOTE CONTROL AT NO ADDITIONAL COST AND ALSO WISHES TO RECEIVE THE $4,000 DEDUCTIBLE THAT WAS STATED ON THE MAILING FLYER, HOWEVER THE DEALER STATES THE DEDUCTIBLE WAS ONLY FOR USED CARS NOT THE NEW VEHICLES. *TR
IN MARCH, 2007, I HAD AN ACCIDENT. THE REAR END OF THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. I THOUGHT IT WAS TOTALED. SAFECO HAD IT REPAIRED. THE TRUNK DOES NOT STAY SECURE, I AM CONTINUOUSLY TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE BODY SHOP FOR REPAIRS TO THE BODY. THE BODY PARTS JUST POP IN (PLASTIC) AND THE TRUNK LID DOES NOT STAY SHUT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED, AS WELL AS IT BEING VERY DANGEROUS WHEN I AM RIDING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRUNK'S LID FLOPS OPEN, CAUSING BLIND VISIBILITY . *TR

ALSO THE DEALER INDICATED THEY WOULD CONTACT US. RECEIVED A PHONE CALL TODAY ENCOURAGING US TO CALL DEALER AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN TOLD SOUTH SERVICED FIRST, THEY WOULD CONTACT US - COULD TAKE UP TO 6 MONTHS. I THINK TOYOTA/TAKATA SHOULD BY BACK THE CARS (AT A REPLACEABLE PRICE OF A CAR OF OUR CHOICE - IE DIFFERENT MAKE).

I CURRENTLY LEASE A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA WHICH COMMENCED ON FEBRUARY 23, 2007. I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING SINCE DAY ONE. IT IS AS FOLLOWS: DEPENDING ON THE LEVEL OF ROAD UNEVENNESS, THE CAR DRIFTS LEFT OR RIGHT AND REQUIRES NEARLY CONSTANT CORRECTION AND THEN, OVER-CORRECTION JUST TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHTFORWARD COURSE. THE CAR DOES NOT WEAVE ERRATICALLY ALL OVER THE ROAD, BUT IT IS JUST SIMPLY A CHORE TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY IN WINDY CONDITIONS OR IN THE DRAFT OF A PASSING TRANSPORT TRUCK. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE HAD FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
I WAS IN THE DRIVE THROUGH LINE AT MCDONALD'S IN MADISON GEORGIA. AFTER PAYING FOR MY ORDER, I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO MOVE UP TO THE NEXT WINDOW AND "ZOOM" MY CAR ACCELERATED AND REAR ENDED A TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. MY PASSENGER NOR I WERE INJURED, JUST SHAKEN UP A BIT. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE EVEN AFTER RUNNING INTO THE TRUCK. I TURNED OFF THE CAR TO STOP THE ACCELERATION. THIS INCIDENT HAS ONLY OCCURRED ONCE. HOWEVER, THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT PUSHES OFF QUICKLY MOST OF THE TIME. AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH MY ENTIRE FRONT END WAS DAMAGED AND HAD TO BE REPAIRED. IN JANUARY 2007 I RECEIVED DELIVERY ON A NEW 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. IN THE WEEKS FOLLOWING DELIVERY I EXPERIENCED WHAT I WOULD DESCRIBE AS A STUCK ACCELERATOR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I WOULD BE DRIVING AND WITHOUT APPARENT REASON THE VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD RACE. TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM, THOUGH I CALLED THEM LONG TIME AGO ABOUT IT. 2-STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES TOO MUCH CAUSING HAND NUMBNESS. 3-BRAKES ARE NOT ABS. EVEN IN IRAN, 2007 MANUFACTURED CARS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM.

THE FIFTH TIME, THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER HE STATED THE PROBLEM WAS WORSE AND SEEMED TO GET MORE WORSE AFTER AN INTERSTATE TRIP OF 50 MPH OR WHEN THE TIRES HEATED UP. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT LOWS SPEED, IT SEEMED TO WOBBLE. WHEN THE CONSUMER WENT BACK TO THE DEALER THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES WERE OUT OF BALANCE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THE RIMS COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE POOR STEERING. THE DEALER AGREED TO REPLACE ONE OF THE TIRES, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT RESOLVED. THE CONSUMER WENT TO GET A SECOND OPINION AND THEY AGREED THERE WAS A STEERING ISSUE. THE CONSUMER WENT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER AND THEY AGREED TO REMOVE THE TIRES AND RIMS FROM THE VEHICLE. THE NEW TIRES AND RIMS HELPED, BUT THE VEHICLE STILL SWAYED, BUT NOT AS BAD AS BEFORE. THE CONSUMER STATED HE READ A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE WHERE A PERSON WHO WORKED IN A CALIFORNIA PLANT THAT MADE TOYOTA COROLLA'S WAS IN TROUBLE FOR MAKING ACCUSATIONS ABOUT OTHERS PASSING OFF FAULTY FRONT ENDS. 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. CONSUMER STATES REPEATED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION WAS RANDOM AND INTERMITTENT. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS BRAKING FROM NORMAL ROADWAY SPEEDS OF 30-60 MPH AND JUST WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ALMOST STOPPED, THE ENGINE WOULD RACE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD TRY TO ACCELERATE AGAINST THE BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, THE BRAKES HELD ITS POSITION AND THE CONSUMER WAS BALE TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF. THE FIRST TWO TIMES, THE ENGINE RACING OCCURRED, HE TRIED TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO PARK TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING, HOWEVER THAT RESULTED IN THE ENGINE RPMS ACTING ERRATICALLY, SO HE THEN TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN AND EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL. *JB
