I OWNED A TOYOTA COROLLA 2007 AND THE ENGINE STALLED ONCE. IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS GETTING OFF A HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE TOOK A 180 DEGREE TURN ON THE RAMP. THANK GOD THAT THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND ME. I THOUGHT IT DID SOMETHING WRONG TO CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL. THIS WEEK I READ THE NEWS THAT TOYOTA ADMITTED THAT THERE MAY BE A ENGINE DEFECT. I HOPE THAT TOYOTA IS TAKING STEP TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS DRIVING COMING FROM MY SISTER IN LAWS HOUSE AT GRANDVIEW, WASHINGTON LEAVING AROUND 7:40 AM HEADING HOME TO SEATTLE GOING WEST TO INTERSTATE-82 ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, 2008 WITH MY THREE KIDS. I WAS USING MY CRUISE CONTROL AND STAYED ON THE LEFT LANE FOR ABOUT 20 TO 30 MINUTES. WE JUST LEFT YAKIMA CITY AND HEADED TO THE FRED REDMON MEMORIAL BRIDGE AT AROUND 8:30 AM GOING UP HILL, IN WHICH I SAW TWO TRACTOR-TRAILER FAR IN ADVANCE AND BOTH WERE DRIVING ON THE RIGHT LANE. THE LEFT LANE WAS OPEN AS I DROVE IN TO THE BRIDGE BUT THEN THE OTHER TRACTOR-TRAILER MADE A CHANGE TO GO TO THE LEFT LANE. I WAS PROBABLY 50 FEET AWAY WHEN THE OTHER TRACTOR-TRAILER MADE THE CHANGE TO THE LEFT LANE. I WAS CRUISING ABOUT 50 TO 60 MPH IN WHICH I HAVE TO PUT MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT I STEP ON MY GAS PEDAL BECAUSE THE CAR DID NOT SLOWDOWN A BIT. I PRESSED THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND HIT THE FOOT BRAKE AGAIN AND AGAIN. I THEN REALIZED THAT MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK. AS I WAS GETTING TOO CLOSED TO THE LEFT LANE TRUCK, I PANICKED AND MADE A CHANGE TO GO TO RIGHT AND REAR-ENDED THE VOLVO TRACTOR-TRAILER. *TR
MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER IT WAS THE COMPUTER AND IT RESULTED IN THE DEALER REPLACING THE COMPUTER. LUCKILY IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. ON ONE OF THE OCCASIONS, HOWEVER, I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. NOT A SAFE SITUATION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN WRIST AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED AND THE CONTACT HAD NOT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 1,100.
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT ON AN INTERSTATE OFF-RAMP AND REAR-ENDED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, CAR IN FRONT INTO THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF HER. WHEN I STRUCK THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, DESPITE THE INCREASED SPEED I WAS THROWN FORWARD INTO THAT CAR. SUBSEQUENTLY, I HAVE CERVICAL SPRAIN, CONCUSSION FROM HITTING THE BACK OF MY HEAD ON MY HEAD REST, POSSIBLE BRIEF LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS, CEPHALGIA, AND MANY OTHER SYMPTOMS AND POSSIBLE INJURIES. THESE INJURIES MAY HAVE BEEN LESSENED IF THE FRONT AIR BAG HAD DEPLOYED AND LIMITED MY HEAD'S PATH FORWARD WITH THE IMPACT OF THE FRONT OF MY CAR INTO THE BACK OF THE OTHER CAR. *TR
MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA STALLED WHILE DRIVING WITHIN THE CITY AT 45 MPH, WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECOMING NON RESPONSIVE AND THE ENGINE LOSING OUT POWER. THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ALSO WENT ON. THIS STALLING ISSUE HAPPENED TWICE AND I HAD TO DRIVE ONTO THE CURB TO EVADE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACCIDENT IN THE TRAFFIC. BOTH THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED ON 08/06/2008. SUBSEQUENT TO THE STALLING THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER TRYING FEW TIME I COULD GET IT TO START ONCE MORE AND BARELY MANAGED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERS SERVICE STATION. THE DEALER KEPT THE CAR OVERNIGHT AND CALLED ME TO INFORM NEXT DAY THAT THEY COULD NOT QUITE FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE COMPUTER IN THE CAR. THE CAR BEING UNDER WARRANTY I WAS NOT CHARGED ANYTHING. THE DEALER COMMENTS ON MY INVOICE STATED - "ENGINE ECU MALFUNCTION REPLACE ENGINE ECU". (FOR THE STALLING PROBLEM) "IMMOBILIZER NOT RESPONDING". (FOR THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT) THE INCIDENT HAS NOT OCCURRED SINCE. *TR
I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT TAKATA AIRBAGS ARE DEFECTIVE AND TO AVOID PASSANGER TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WHY HAS IT TAKEN YEARS TO NOTIFY ME OF THIS? THE LIVES ON LITTLE PEOPLE ARE THAT IMPORTANT I GEUSS???
ON JULY 29, 2008 I WENT TO GET INTO MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA AND SMELLED GAS. I CROUCHED DOWN TO LOOK UNDER THE CAR AND NOTICED A GAS LEAK COMING FROM THE GAS LINE UNDER THE GAS TANK. I GOT UP TO WALK INTO THE GARAGE AND WHEN I CLOSED THE CAR DOOR, THE CAR EXPLODED INTO FLAMES. THE EXPLOSION PUSHED ME INTO THE GARAGE AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE GARAGE DOOR CLOSED. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. AFTER LOOKING AT OTHER 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA'S IT SEEMS THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE FUEL LINE UNDER THE CAR. THE FUEL LINE IS THE SAME CONSISTENCY AS A RADIATOR HOSE AND IS THE LOWEST HANGING STRUCTURE UNDER THE CAR, WITH AN AREA THAT IS NOT PROTECTED AND COULD VERY WELL GET PUNCTURED BY NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS CAUSING A GAS LEAK IN THE FUEL LINE WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS, OBVIOUSLY, SINCE OURS EXPLODED INTO FLAMES AND BURNED SO HOT THAT IT MELTED THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. TOYOTA MAINTAINED NO BLAME IN THIS AND DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A TOYOTA COROLLA 2007, THE POWER STEERING LOCKS UP CAUSING ME TO BUMP IT ON THE GUTTER. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS 2007 COROLLA LE IN JULY 2008. SOON WE FOUND THAT WHEN THE CAR REACHED THE SPEED OF 70 MPH OR OVER, THERE WAS SOME HIGH-PITCHED NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WINDOW. SINCE THIS HAPPENED A LOT, WE BROUGHT OUR CAR TO THE DEALER IN EARLY 2008. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD SEAL. THE NOISE STOPPED FOR SOME TIME. THEN NOW IT COMES BACK AGAIN IF WE DRIVE IT AROUND 75 MPH OR OVER. I DID SOME GOOGLE SEARCH. I FOUND QUITE A FEW OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME MODEL/YEAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MY DEALER (BILLPAGE, FALLS CHURCH, VA) THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM SINCE SEVERAL CLIENTS REPORTED IT AND BROUGHT THEIR CARS TO THE DEALER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER OUTLET WAS DEFECTIVE. WHEN THE POWER OUTLET WAS USED, A BURNING ODOR WOULD PENETRATE THROUGH THE VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER OUTLET FUSE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND THE POWER OUTLET FUSE CONTINUED TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT TOOK HER FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. THERE WERE NO INJURIES BUT A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP BUT THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE HAD NOT OCCURRED SINCE THE FIRST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,750.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE RPMS DROPPED AND THERE WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR HAD APPROX. 19,500 MILES ON IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE COMPUTER MODULE AND THE FUEL PUMP. FOUR DAYS LATER THE CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED A SECOND TIME AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND GASKET. THE CAR HAS 26,000 MILES ON IT NOW AND HAS NOT REPEATED THIS INCIDENT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, MY PERCEPTION OF QUALITY IS NEGATIVE. *TR
IT STARTS WITH THE CAR NOT FEELING LIKE IT IS RECEIVING FUEL TO THE ENGINE, THEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, IT JUST DIES AND WON'T START BACK UP. FIRST TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, IT JUST DIED AND I HAD IT PUSHED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I LEFT THE VEHICLE AND RETURNED HALF AN HOUR LATER IN WHICH IT DID RESTART. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN WHICH IT TURNS OUT FOUND THAT IT WAS A CENSOR THAT WAS BAD AND REPLACED. THE SECOND TIME IT STALLED ON ME, AGAIN, I COULD TELL THAT FUEL WASN'T GETTING TO THE ENGINE IN SHORT INTERVALS. THEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, I WAS TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 55 MPH WHEN IT JUST DIED AND WOULDN'T START BACK UP AT ALL. IT WAS TOWED AGAIN TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAY IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE. IN BOTH INSTANCES THERE IS "POWER" TO THE VEHICLE. THE RADIO, AIR, WIPERS, FLASHERS, ETC ALL WORK FINE. BUT THE ENGINE DOESN'T WORK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2000.
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA S, AND I BELIEVE THERE IS A MANUFACTURER DESIGN FLAW THAT LEADS TO EXCESSIVE DEBRIS AND ROCKS THAT GAIN ACCESS THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND WILL ULTIMATELY PUNCTURE HOLES IN THE AC CONDENSER. SINCE I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF HAVING A PUNCTURED HOLE IN MY AC CONDENSER. SINCE THEY SAY IT IS CAUSED BY A ROCK THE DEALERSHIP ACCEPTS NO FAULT AND THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT. THEY CHARGE $728 DOLLARS TO REPAIR THE CONDENSER. I AM UPSET BECAUSE I FEEL THAT TOYOTA KNOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM EXISTS AND HAVE DONE VERY LITTLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES ON IT YET THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE WHICH I FEEL IS THE CAUSE. THE CAR SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH PROTECTION IN THE FRONT END THAT A ROCK WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE AC CONDENSER SO EASILY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE SHE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING DID NOT STAY STRAIGHT IT WAS A STRUGGLE TO KEEP IT IN STRAIGHT LINE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND STATED IT WAS THE TIRES. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES; HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH FROM THE RESIDENCE DRIVEWAY. UNEXPECTEDLY, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD INTO A DITCH. THE ENGINE EXHIBITED A LIGHT SMOKE. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH MODERATE FORCE AND CAUSED MINOR INJURY TO THE OCCUPANT. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE FRONT END DAMAGES WERE SEVERE AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A COST OF $8,000. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED ON A SEPARATE OCCASION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,558. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 29, 2009. THE CONSUMER WAS PARALLEL PARKING AND ONCE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD SUDDENLY AN ONLY BY TROUNCING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET SHE WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP, NARROWLY AVOIDING A COLLISION. THE CONSUMER VISITED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED AN ADVISORY HAD BEEN ISSUED BY TOYOTOA ABOUT POTENTIAL PROBLEMS AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS REPLACED IN THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO THE SECOND INCIDENT, THE CONSUMER CONTACTED AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE UNLESS SHE SAW A RED LIGHT. UPDATED 03/12/10. WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT UP FRONT THE AIR BAG DOES NOT SAY ON. THE CAR DEALER AT LAST RECALL TOLD ME NOT TO LET ANYONE SIT IN FRONT SEAT BECAUSE OF THIS. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. THANKS
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA SPORT. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR IMMEDIATELY ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE INDICATOR REMAINED LIT UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. SHE ALSO SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FUEL SYSTEM, WHICH WAS COMMON FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THAT TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON SEVEN SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AGAIN. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR CONTINUED FORWARD AS THOUGH MY FOOT WAS STILL FEEDING GAS. AS A RESULT I HIT A PARKED CAR NEXT TO THE SLOT I WAS TRYING TO PULL INTO. NO DAMAGE TO THE CAR I HIT BUT $2500 ESTIMATE FOR BODY REPAIR TO THE CAR I WAS DRIVING. I HAVE HAD INFREQUENT SIMILAR EXPERIENCES WITH THIS CAR, BUT ALWAYS IN THE PAST IT HAS BEEN MOMENTARY AND INCONSEQUENTIAL CAR WILL BE REPAIRED AND IS BEING TAKEN IN TO SERVICE FOR CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED ABOVE. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY 2007 VEHICLE IN 2008 I DISCOVERED A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER'S SUN VISOR HITTING THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PUT IT ALL THE WAY DOWN. I WAS DRIVING AND ATTEMPTED TO PULL DOWN THE SUN VISOR AND THEN WHEN I LOOKED AT THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IT HAD MOVED AND BECOME MIS-ALIGNED DUE TO THE VISOR HITTING THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR. THIS RESULTED IN HAVING TO RE-ADJUST THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS OEM. YOU CANNOT FULLY DEPLOY THE SUN VISOR IN A PERPENDICULAR POSITION WITHOUT HITTING THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR. THE SUN VISOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT MANUFACTURER'S COST SINCE IT WAS DESIGNED AND INSTALLED THAT WAY. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DROPPING OFF OUR CHILDREN AT OUR NEIGHBORS HOUSE (WHERE THEY CATCH THE SCHOOL BUS) AND WHEN SHE TURNED THE CAR AROUND IN THEIR DRIVEWAY IT UNEXPECTATLY TOOK OFF ON HER. OUR COROLLA CRASHED INTO OUR NEIGHBORS LARGE SUV WHICH WAS NO MORE THAN 10 FEET OR SO IN FRONT OF THE COROLLA AND PUSHED IT THROUGH THE WALL IN THEIR GARAGE. THE COROLLA, THEIR SUV, AND THE WALL OF THEIR GARAGE WERE ALL DAMAGED (ABOUT $8,000 TOTAL). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. FOR A YEAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE EMISSIONS INSPECTOR STATED THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR CAUSED THE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER HAS NOT DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THERE ARE NO EXISTING RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA I BOUGHT NEW. WITH 17,000+ MILES ON IT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THIS EVENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A HEAVILY TRAVELED ROAD AT 45 MPH. THE CAR'S SPEED IMMEDIATELY DROPPED TO 15 MPH. I AVOIDED ACCIDENT AND INJURY, BUT WAS HORRIFIED AT THE THOUGHT I COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE NEXT DAY I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. I FOUND IT ODD THAT THE SERVICE WRITER DIDN'T EVEN BLINK ABOUT THIS, AND THAT A NEW ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WAS READILY AVAILABLE. THE EXPERIENCE MADE ME THINK THIS MUST BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE. *TW
TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AND UNEXPECTEDLY, THERE WAS AN INCREASE OF ACCELERATION. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE SURGED AND THE ENGINE IDLED EXCESSIVELY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. IN THE PAST 2 1/2 YEARS I RENTED TWO TOYOTA COROLLA'S FROM HERTZ CAR RENTAL. THEY BOTH HAD SEVERE STEERING PROBLEMS. THEY WOULD VEER ONE WAY, SAY RIGHT FOR EXAMPLE. A SMALL STEERING WHEEL TURN TO THE LEFT DID NOTHING AND THE CAR KEPT GOING RIGHT. THEN ANOTHER SMALL TURN TO THE LEFT AND THE CAR WOULD VEER SHARPLY TO THE LEFT. IN THE FIRST CASE, IN CALIFORNIA, WHEN THE CAR VEERED LEFT I HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER CAR IN THE LANE TO THE LEFT. AFTER STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT WITH THE OTHER DRIVER AND THE POLICE, I TOOK THE STILL-DRIVABLE CAR, NO LONGER WITH A LEFT SIDE MIRROR TO A HERTZ AGENCY AND EXCHANGED IT FOR A FORD AUTOMOBILE. IT STEERED FINE. FOR THE SECOND TIME, A YEAR LATER, I THOUGHT (INCORRECTLY) THAT THE FIRST CAR WAS ACCIDENTALLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND I RENTED ANOTHER TOYOTA COROLLA FROM A HERTZ AGENCY IN FLORIDA. IT VEERED ALL OVER THE ROAD TOO. POLICEWOMAN STOPPED ME AND SAID I HAD BEEN REPORTED AS DRIVING ERRATICALLY. THE JACK THAT WAS DELIVERED WITH MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA COLLAPSED TWICE WHILE I WAS CHANGING A TIRE. THE FRONT FENDER WAS DAMAGED WHILE IT BOUNCED ONTO THE TIRE. IT WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS NOT INJURED. THE DEALER ORDERED A NEW JACK AND COMPARED IT SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE DEFECTIVE JACK IN THE NORMALLY RAISED POSITION AND DETERMINED THAT IT WAS UNSTABLE. THE JACK WAS REPLACED AND THE FENDER DAMAGE RESULTED FROM THE COLLAPSED JACK WAS ALSO REPLACED BY THE DEALER UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. IT IS LIKELY THAT THE SAME BATCH OF JACKS COULD HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND COULD CAUSE SIMILAR COLLAPSES THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO USERS. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. ON THE DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPOILER WAS LOOSE ON THE VEHICLE. HE RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS PREVIOUS DAMAGE ON THE VEHICLE THAT WAS NEVER REPORTED. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND WAS INVOLVED IN CRASHES. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 11,400.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TWO SEPARATE PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATION OF MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA LE. THE FIRST PROBLEM IS WITH MY GAS PEDAL. I NOTICED THAT OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS MY GAS PEDAL HAS BEEN BECOMING HARDER TO PRESS DOWN. WHEN I AM PRESSING DOWN THE GAS PEDAL I ALSO EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM OF THE VEHICLE "JUMPING" AND SUDDENLY ACCELERATING QUICKER INSTEAD OF SMOOTH ACCELERATION AS TOYOTA HAS SAID VEHICLES SHOULD HAVE. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AND HAS ONLY BEEN GETTING WORSE THE SECOND ISSUE IS WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL. MY MOTHER ACTUALLY NOTICED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I DID WHEN SHE WAS DRIVING MY CAR BUT I HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN A FEW TIMES WHEN I'VE BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN I SET MY CRUISE CONTROL AND THERE IS ANY TYPE OF HILL MY CAR NATURALLY DECELERATES SLIGHTLY BEFORE MY CRUISE CONTROL STEPS IN AND COMPENSATES FOR THE INCLINE. WHEN I RETURN TO FLAT GROUND HOWEVER, I WOULD EXPECT MY CAR TO RETURN TO THE SPEED THAT I HAD SET MY CRUISE CONTROL TO. MOST OF THE TIME IT DOES BUT ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION INSTEAD OF PICKING BACK UP TO THE SET SPEED MY VEHICLE HAS ACTUALLY ACCELERATED FASTER THAN THE SPEED I HAD SET. THIS PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF THE PURCHASE OF MY VEHICLE. I DIDN'T NOTICE THESE AS A PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY CHECKED TO MAKE SURE MY TOYOTA WASN'T UNDER ANY CURRENT RECALLS AND IT WASN'T. MY MOTHER HOWEVER POINTED OUT THAT BOTH OF THESE THINGS ARE ABNORMAL AND I NEEDED TO TAKE THEM IN TO TOYOTA AND FILE A REPORT WITH YOU. I HAVE A SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH TOYOTA FOR 10/22/10 BUT WAS TOLD IF THEY FIND A PROBLEM WITH EITHER OF THESE THINGS IT MAY NOT BE COVERED BECAUSE MY VEHICLE ISN'T UNDER THE RECALL. *TR
WE PURCHASED OUR 2007 COROLLA LE BRAND NEW. WE REALIZED THAT AFTER PARKING AND RESTARTING THE CAR AND COMMENCING TO DRIVE, A LOUD "CLICK" WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE CLICKING NOISE WAS NORMAL AND IS MENTIONED IN THE MANUAL. I INFORMED THEM THAT OUR PREVIOUS COROLLA NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SAID NOTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. IF I WANTED, A NEW COMPUTER WOULD HAVE TO BE INSTALLED BUT THE WAITING TIME WAS EXTENSIVE. I REFUSED THIS EXPLANATION AND NOTHING WAS DONE. IN ADDITION, THE CAR SURGES WHEN THE AIR CON OR DEFROSTER IS ON BUT AGAIN, THE DEALER "FOUND NOTHING". RECENTLY, ONE OF THE BELTS WAS SQUEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, AN OIL CHANGE AND BUILD-UP ON THE BATTERY REMOVED. THE COST - OVER $320. I TOLD THE DEALER OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED AND THEY TOLD ME NOTHING WAS COVERED. WE FEEL THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS USELESS AND THE COROLLA DEALER JUST LOOKING TO MAKE MONEY. THESE INCIDENTS STARTED IN 2007 AND CONTINUED TO 2009. *TR
THE 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA (CE) CAR ENGINE DIDN'T PICK UP SPEED IN HIGHWAY UNTIL PULLING CAR OVER TO SHOULDER AND RESTARTED THE CAR. THIS SITUATION HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES YESTERDAY WHEN I DRIVING IT WITH MY FAMILY ON HIGHWAY I-95 IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. NEXT DAY I WENT TOYOTA DEALER TO FIND OUT THE ISSUE. THEY HOOKED THE ENGINE WITH THE COMPUTER BUT DIDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. I FEAR THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE AND MAY CAUSE LIFE THREATEN SITUATION. *TR

2007 TOYOTA COROLLA SE SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES BETWEEN AUG. 07 TO JAN 08. I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE FIRMLY, WHILE THE ENGINE REVVED UP, BUT DID NOT LURCH TOO FAR AHEAD. DEALER(CANADIAN) WAS NOTIFIED AND SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY LOOKED AT THE CAR TWICE BUT DIDN'T OFF ANY EXPLANATION. THE CAR HAS BEEN OK. SINCE JAN. 08 NOTE DATE IS APPROXIMATE IN AUG. 08. *TR
