TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. TO STOP THE VEHICLE, HE WOULD SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP ABOUT EIGHT TIMES BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT BUT WAS TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000....UPDATED 02/11/15 *BF UPDATED 6/11/2015 *JS
STEERING PROBLEMS- TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER WHERE IT STAYED FOR 3 DAYS ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR IT HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 2 MILES?THE PROBLEM RECURRED AND AGAIN WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. I INFORMED THE DEALER THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WOULD BE LEAVING IT UNTIL IT WAS FIXED OR THEY COULD KEEP IT. DEALER INFORMED ME IF A RECALL OCCURRED THEY WOULD FIX THE CAR BUT FOR NOW THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR? MAKES SINCE TO ME! WILL IT TAKE MORE DEATHS TO STOP AN OUT OF CONTROL AUTO MAKER??????????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
I ALSO HAVE A NEW 2010 COROLLA BOUGHT IN LEXINGTON KY THREE WEEKS AGO. 3 DAYS BEFORE THE RECALL ON THE ACCELERATION PEDALS WERE ANNOUNCED. I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THE DEALER ABOUT FIXING THE ISSUE. ALTHOUGH TODAY I WANTED TO REPORT A STEERING ISSUE WITH THE CAR. IT DOES INDEED HAVE DIFFICULTY STAYING IN A LANE OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR WILL VEER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OF THE LANE UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. IT IS SIMILAR TO A GUST OF WIND PUSHING THE CAR EVEN IF NO WIND IS BLOWING. I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR TESTING AND THE SERVICE GUY TOLD ME IT'S JUST HOW THE STEERING IS MADE IN THESE AUTOS. IT IS A WAY FOR THE POWERFUL CONTROL YOU HAVE GOING AROUND CURVES AND TURNS IN THE ROAD IMPACTS THE STRAIGHT HIGHWAY DRIVING. I HAVE RUN OFF THE ROAD ON MY PASSENGER SIDE ALREADY. YOU DO HAVE TO DRIVE AS IF YOU ARE ALWAYS ON ICE OR WATER, GRIPPING BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL AT ALL TIMES; WHILE PRAYING THE CAR WILL STOP!!! *TR
Paint defective on 2010 Toyota Corolla. Peeling no coating. I purchased the vehicle 9/08/2025
2010 TOYOTA COROLLA BRAKE RECALL. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE RECALL WAS ISSUED DUE TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES IN COLD WEATHER STATES, HOWEVER MASSACHUSETTS WAS NOT LISTED AS A COLD WEATHER STATE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TEMPERATURES ARE EXTREMELY COLD IN THE WINTER WITH ICE, SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES. *JB
2010 TOYOTA COROLLA -- STEERING PROBLEM. VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP CAR WITHIN TRAVEL LANE WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS IS NOT RELATED TO WIND GUSTS BUT OCCURS AT ALL THE TIMES. FEELS LIKE THERE ARE DEAD SPOTS IN THE WHEEL AND THERE IS LITTLE TO NO ROAD FEEL FEEDBACK. THE CAR DOES NOT TRACK STRAIGHT ON ITS OWN BUT REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTIONS. I AM 69 YEARS OLD AND HAVE OWNED AND DRIVEN MANY CARS/TRUCKS INCLUDING MY 2002 TOYOTA AVALON AND MY DAUGHTER'S 1993 COROLLA AND HAVE NEVER BEFORE EXPERIENCED THE TYPE STEERING ISSUE THAT WE HAVE WITH OUR NEW 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AND IF A DRIVER IN NOT PAYING 100% ATTENTION AND CONSTANTLY CORRECTING TO KEEP CAR WITHIN THE TRAVEL LANE THE RESULT COULD BE DISASTROUS. TOYOTA NEEDS TO BE REQUIRED TO FIX THIS STEERING ISSUE WITH ITS NEW COROLLA'S. 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA REQUESTING INFORMATION*CW THE CONSUMER WANTED TO KNOW IF HER VEHICLE WAS EFFECTED BY THE RECALL? CAN THE VEHICLE STILL BE DRIVEN AND WHEN SHOULD SHE TAKE IT TO THE DEALER? RECALL 10V017000. *JB UPDATED 03/08/10
LETTER FROM SENATOR TESTER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE TOYOTA (DIRECT RESPONSE TO BILLINGS OFFICE) THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD DRIFT OUT OF THE LANE HE WAS DRIVING IN. THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AT TIMES. DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. AT LOW SPEEDS THE VEHICLE STEERED FINE, BUT IT WAS HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHERE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE DEALER PATCHED A TIRE AND ROTATED THEM, BUT THE STEERING PROBLEM CONTINUED. ANOTHER DEALER DISCOVERED ONE OF THE TIRES HAD 5 PSI MORE THAN THE OTHER TIRES, THEY ALSO MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO THE REAR END. THE CONSUMER WAS THEN ADVISED TO PUT WEIGHT IN THE TRUNK AND TO GET SNOW TIRES. AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IT SEEMED A LITTLE BETTER, BUT THE VEHICLE STILL WANDERED INTO THE NEXT LANE. THE CONSUMER WENT BACK TO THE FIRST DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE STEERING ISSUE WAS A DESIGN PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *JB
