NOTHING YET BUT THESE RECALLS, ONE FOR THE ELECTRIC WINDOW MASTER SWITCH, WELL OVER A YEAR OLD, AND THE OTHER FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, WHERE I'M CAUTIONED TO NOT HAVE PASSENGERS IN THAT FRONT SEAT, WHICH IS REALLY INCONVENIENT AND MEANS I DON'T HAVE FULL USE OF MY OWN AUTOMOBILE, HAS BEEN OUT LONG ENOUGH THAT A FIX IS LONG OVERDUE. WHY THE DELAY AND WHY DOES THE GOVERNMENT DO NOTHING FOR CONSUMERS WHO PAID FOR THESE CARS BUT WITH SOME NOT INSIGNIFICANT DEFECTS. I WOULD LIKE MY CAR FIXED, BOTH THE MASTER SWITCH FOR THE WINDOWS AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG THAT COULD FAIL TO DEPLOY.

ON 11/15/2016, I PURCHASED 4 NEW PRIMEWELL VALERA TOURING TIRES, SIZE 205/55R16 FOR MY DAUGHTERS 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA S. I PURCHASED THE TIRES FROM FIRESTONE COMPLETE AUTO CARE, 10925 FM 1960 RD W HOUSTON, TX 77070 SHE IMMEDIATELY BEGIN DRIVING FROM HOUSTON TO RETURN TO COLLEGE STATION, TX WHERE SHE RESIDES. SHE HAD ONLY TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES ON THE NEW TIRES WHEN SHE EXPERIENCED A REAR RIGHT BLOW OUT WHICH SENT HER CRASHING INTO THE HIGHWAY CONCRETE BARRIER. SHE IS A BIT SHAKEN UP WITH STIFFNESS AND PAIN AND HER CAR IS DAMAGED IN SEVERAL AREAS. I AM ASKING MY INSURANCE TO INVESTIGATE THE FULL DETAILS OF THE CRASH. I AM ALSO SPEAKING WITH FIRESTONE AND HOPE TO REACH THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRES AS WELL. A DPS OFFICER WAS ONSITE TO MAKE A REPORT OF THE ACCIDENT AND THE PARTICULARS. WHAT ASSISTANCE IN INFO CAN YOU PROVIDE ME AT THIS TIME ON ANY OTHER FAILURES OR INFO CONCERNING THESE TIRES OR THE MANUFACTURER? PLEASE ADVISE AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.
STATIONARY/PARKED DRIVER'S SEAT - AN INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE SEAT HAS BROKEN, ALLOWING A SHARP, RIGID STEEL PIECE TO PROTRUDE FROM THE BACK OF THE SEAT INTO THE PASSENGER AREA. THIS PIECE OF STEEL HAS CUT TWO OF OUR CHILDREN ON THE LEGS AS THEY WERE EXITING THE VEHICLE. (ONE INJURY OCCURRED IN JUNE 2016, TOYOTA NOTIFIED OF PROBLEM IN JULY 2016. SECOND INJURY OCCURRED ON 11/11/2016. TOYOTA AGAIN NOTIFIED.)
TAKATA RECALL - WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. WE CANNOT USE OUR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I CALLED TOYOTA THIS MORNING AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE YET. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WE CANNOT CONTINUE DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.

5 MONTHS HAVE PASSED AND SO FAR I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A 2ND LETTER INDICATING TO TAKE MY CAR FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL ISSUE. I VISITED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ALREADY A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS "NO REMEDY" FOR MY CAR. I LIVE IN MIAMI FLORIDA, SO THE TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS AND HUMIDITY IS A FACT OF LIFE. I'M VERY WORRY ABOUT ALL OF THIS. WHAT IS TIME FRAME THAT TOYOTA SHOULD DO THIS AIRBAG RECALL. TAKATA RECALL - TOYOTA HAS INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A MAY 23 AIRBAG RECALL (#16V340) AND IT IS IN THE HIGHEST-RISK GEOGRAPHICAL ZONE. THE LETTER THAT I RECEIVED ADVISED ME TO NOT OPERATE MY VEHICLE WITH ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST FOUR MONTHS AND TOYOTA HAS STILL NOT MADE A REMEDY AVAILABLE TO ME. I AM STILL UNABLE TO HAVE A NORMAL NUMBER OF PASSENGERS IN MY CAR, FOR FEAR OF INJURY. I THINK THAT A REMEDY HAS NOT BEEN MADE AVAILABLE IN A TIMELY MANNER.
EXTREMELY HARD SHIFTING IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS.
I WILL START BY SAYING THAT I HAVE A TOYOTA COROLLA 2010. ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13,2016 WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN A STREET ABOUT 20/30 MPH MY CAR STARTED ACCELERATING BY ITSELF, I TRIED TO STOP BY PRESSING THE BRAKE, BUT THE CAR KEPT GOING, THEN I MOVED THE HANDLE ON PARKING, THE CAR WOULDN'T RESPOND UNTIL I PULL THE HAND BRAKE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED TOYOTA AND EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT HAPPEN. QUICKLY THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK TO PICK UP MY CAR TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER FOR THE DAY. THE PERSON AT THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY WILL CONTACT ME THE NEXT DAY AND WE COULD TAKE IT FROM THERE. NOBODY CALLED SO AROUND 3PM I CALLED ASKING THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HEAR FROM CORPORATION AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW. I ASK ABOUT THE LOANER CAR. THEY SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THE SAME THING HAPPENS THE NEXT DAY. I CALLED THEY SAY NOT TO WORRY ABOUT THE CAR AND THAT THEY WILL CALL ME IF THEY HAVE ANY NEWS ON MY CAR. ON FRIDAY AROUND 4:50 THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED ME AND SAID THAT TOYOTA CORPORATION HAD CONCLUDED THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY SAID I COULD PICK UP MY CAR AND PAY FOR THE RENTAL CAR AND THE INSPECTION OF THE CAR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY OF YOU OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAD SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND SO FRUSTRATED THE TOYOTA HAD DECIDED THAT THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. I HAVE GRANDKIDS WHO GETS IN THE CAR ALSO MY JOB REQUIRES ME TO DRIVE PATIENTS IN MY CAR.

MY DAUGHTER DRIVES TOYOTA COROLLA AND SHARES CAR-POOL WITH OTHER STUDENTS TO GO TO THE COLLEGE AND THUS PUTTING THE PASSENGER LIVES AT RISK. WE CONTACTED ONE TOYOTA DEALER, FORT BEND TOYOTA IN HOUSTON AND CRM, MS. ASHTON (281-633-3300)ADVISE US THAT ENTERPRISE WILL NOT PROVIDE A CAR TO SOMEONE UNDER 21. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
THERE HAS A BEEN A RECALL ON THIS FOR SOME TIME NOW, I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY LOCAL DEALER ON COBB PARKWAY IN MARIETTA GEORGIA, AND THEY HAVE FAILED TO CONTACT ME TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS, AND THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN THEY COME IN. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR.

I RECEIVED A LETTER AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AGO STATING THAT MY CAR HAS A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG WHICH COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH FOR THE OCCUPANTS OF THE CAR, AND THERE IS STILL NOT A FIX AVAILABLE FOR THIS DEFECT. ALSO HE IS ADVISED ME THAT THERE IS NO LABILITY OF MY TOYOTA CAR FOR DAMAGE WHEN I LEAVE THE CAR WITH THEM TO REPAIR. BASICALLY, TOYOTA OFFERS A TOTAL DISCOURAGEMENT TO THE VEHICLE OWNER AND FORCE US TO DRIVE THE DEFECTIVE CAR. MY DAUGHER DOES SHARE RIDES WITH HER FRIENDS AND TAKE TURNS. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE A PASSENGER IN 3 MONTHS AND ACCORDING TO THEIR HOTLINE, A REMEDY WILL STILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. OTHER CAR COMPANIES HAVE PROVIDED REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS DATE. I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS.

WE WERE NOTIFIED OVER TWO MONTHS AGO AND TOLD THAT THE PERIOD OF EXTREME DANGER TO OCCUPANTS OF THIS VEHICLE IS RIGHT NOW. WE HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN A DATA OR TIME OF REPAIR OF THIS LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM AND TOYOTA, DESPITE KNOWING OF THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2004 HAS NOT OFFERED US A SOLUTION.
