MY CAR SUDDENLY TURN ON MOST OF THE DASH LIGHTS: BRAKE,ABS, POWER STEERING, AND THE SPEEDOMETER , TEMPERATURE GAUGE, REVOLUTION GAUGE AND AIR CONDITIONER STOP WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN ALL TIS PROBLEMS STATED START TO HAPPEN
"TAKATA RECALL" THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT SUBMITTED TO YOU. THE TOYOTA DEALER HAS HAD MY CAR FOR 1 YEAR-- UNACCEPTABLE- THEY HAVE NOTHING TO TELL ME REGARDING WHEN THE RECALL WILL BE FIXED. MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING SOMEWHERE FOR A WHOLE YEAR. I'VE CONTACTED MY LENDER(CAPITAL ONE) NO SUCCESS THERE. I CANT TRADE VEHICLE IN BECAUSE IT IS NOT RELEASED TO ME. TRANSMISSION EXPLODED FORM INSIDE OUT AFTER 80K MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION EXPLODED AND METAL FRAGMENTS WERE PRESENT INSIDE. AS A RESULT, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

TAKATA RECALL: IT SHOWS THIS RECALL BEGAN MAY 23, 2016 - IT IS NOW JANUARY 31, 2017 AND THIS RECALL STILL HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED BECAUSE A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA RECALL INFORMATION WEBSITE. I'VE PAID FOR REGISTRATION RENEWAL WEEKS AGO AND HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED MY TAGS, THE DMV SUGGESTED I CHECK TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO INCOMPLETE RECALLS AND THIS CAME UP SO I BELIEVE IT IS DELAYING MY REGISTRATION TAGS FROM BEING MAILED. THIS IS AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT ABOUT REMEDYING A RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER. TAKATA INFLATORS NO REMEMEDY YET DANGEROUS FOR PASSENGERS AND MAKING CAR NOT FUNCTIONAL
IT HAS NOT DEPLOYED YET, BUT TOLD NOT TO DRIVE AND THEN TOLD DONT HAVE ANYONE IN FRONT SEAT, IM SO CONFUSED, AND SO SCARED, AND HAVE ANXIETY. I WAS MAILED THE TAKATA RECALL LETTER FROM THE TOYOTA MAUFACTUERER. I CALLED IMMEDIATELY TO INQUIRE SINCE THE LETTER STATED DO NOT PLACE ANYONE IN YOUR FRONT SEAT. I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY FOR THE RECALL, AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD. I ASKED WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO SINCE I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND I MUST GET TO WORK. I WAS GIVEN A CLAIM NUMBER AND TOLD A CSR WOULD CALL IN TWO BUSINESS DAYS. NO ONE CALLED SO I CALLED AGAIN. I WAS TOLD SOMEONE SHOULDVE CALLED ME, NONE THE LESS WAS INFORMED I COULD GET A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL THE RECALL WAS ADDRESSED. I STATED TO THE CSR HOW WILL THAT WORK IF YOU DONT KNOW WHEN A PART WILL BE MADE AND YOU DONT KNOW HOW LONG ILL BE WITHOUT A CAR. SINCE NO ONE CALLED ME I CALLED THE JIM WHITE TOYOTA DEALERS SERVICE DEPT. AND WAS TOLD AT FIRST THEY HAD NO LOANER CARS, THEN WAS PLACED ON HOLD, REP SAID WE DO HAVE A LOANER BUT NOT TIL FEB 1, 2017. I SAID YOUVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.I EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS AND FRUSTRATIONS AND HOW UNFAIR THIS IS TO HAVE A VEHICLE I PAY A CAR NOTE FOR THATS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND IN THE EVENT I GET A LOANER I HAVE TO STILL PAY FOR A PARKED CAR ALONG WITH INSURANCE, AND I WOULD HAVE TO INSURE THE LOANER VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO STAY IN A STRAIGHT PATH OVER SPEEDS OF 30-40 MPH. VEHICLE IS LONG SINCE PAST, WARRANTY, 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA W/>106K. ORIGINAL TSB DATED JUNE 3, 2010 INSTRUCTED THAT TOYOTA WOULD REPAIR WITHOUT CHARGE BY REPLACING COMPUTER ASSEMBLY, POWER STEERING IF STILL UNDER WARRANTY, HAVE COME ACROSS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND FEEL THERE SHOULD BE FURTHER INVESTIGATION TO INSTITUTE A FULL SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM TOYOTA ABOUT A RECALL THAT WILL REQUIRE A REPLACEMENT OF MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND WAS TOLD NOT TO HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. IT'S ALMOST BEEN A YEAR AND THEY HAVE YET TO HAVE A REMEDY FOR IT. HOW MUCH LONGER IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR A FIX/REPLACEMENT OF MY AIRBAG?
DURING THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE ON A NORMAL SURFACE STREET DURING MORNING COMMUTE THROUGH CITY STREETS FOLLOWING TRAFFIC AT SPEEDS NOT EXCEEDING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO HAVE ACCELERATED (SPED UP) DURING THE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STRIKE THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF IT. THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE STRUCK WAS NOT VISIBLE DUE TO THE SLOW SPEED, BUT IT DID CAUSE MINOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION. DURING THE EVENT THE DRIVER PERCEIVED ACCELERATION AT THE TIME OF THE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES AND THE SOUND ASSOCIATED WITH THE ANTI-LOCK FEATURES BEING ENGAGED. AT THE END OF THE INCIDENT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING SINCE THE REACTION OF THE VEHICLE WAS OPPOSITE OF THE DRIVER COMMAND. THE VEHICLE IS PART OF THE TOYOTA SMART STOP COMPANY RECALL, BUT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NOT DONE SINCE IT IS CONSIDERED OPTIONAL FOR THE OWNER TO DO. BASED ON THE REASONS FOR THE RECALL IT IS CONCERNING THAT THE CONDITION IT IS ADDRESSING MAY HAVE OCCURRED. BECAUSE THIS REPORT IS BASED ON DRIVER PERCEPTION I ONLY REQUEST THAT THE SMART STOP RECALL BE ADDRESSED AND POSSIBLY MANDATED TO ENSURE THAT THE ISSUE IS FROM THE SOFTWARE THAT OWNERS WILL TAKE THE TIME TO HAVE IT ACCOMPLISHED.

TAKATA INFLATORS THIS PROBLEM WAS ANNOUNCED IN MID 2016. IT IS NOW 2/2017 AND TOYOTA STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO CORRECT THIS RECALL. I CALLED MY DEALER AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE THE PARTS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. SINCE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD I THINK THEY ARE TAKING WAY TO LONG TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT ALSO CALLED HEADQUARTER TOYOTA (5895 NW 167TH ST, HIALEAH, FL 33015) WHO STATED THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE REPAIR, THE DEALER STATED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY 2020. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
"TAKATA RECALL" - I RECEIVED A RECALL ON THIS DEFECT A NUMBER OF MONTHS AGO. IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THEY CONTINUE TO TELL ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE RECALL AND THEY CAN DO NOTHING FOR ME. WITH A DEFECT THIS SEVERE I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR THIS MUCH QUICKER TO GET ME AND OTHERS OUT OF HARMS WAY. IF THEY CAN NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM I SHOULD BE GIVEN A LOANER CAR. IT IS CERTAINLY NOT ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE A CAR THAT NO ONE CAN RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT. WE DO NOT HAVE ALTERNATIVES OR THE FUNDS TO SIMPLY PARK THE CAR AND WAIT.

THEY SUGGEST NOT TO HAVE PASSENGERS RIDE IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. THIS IS TAKING WAY TO LONG TO REMEDY AND ALLOWING US TO DRIVE IN UNSAFE CARS. NOW THEY SAY THEY HAVE A LOANER PROGRAM WITH DEALER. MY DEALER DOES NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS. ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GIVE UP OUR CARS AND DRIVE A LOANER POSSIBLE FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS? THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WHY IS IT TAKING TOYOTA SO LONG TO GET THE REPAIR PARTS FOR THESE TAKATA AIRBAGS. THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW, TOYOTA MFG. DOES NOT KNOW. SOMEONE NEEDS TO SPEED UP THIS PROCESS SO WE DO NOT HAVE TO DRIVE MONTHS IN A UNSAFE CAR. I AM GOING TO GO TO THE PRESS AND NEWS OUTLETS AND REPORT THIS ISSUE AND WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG AND ALLOWING TOYOTA OWNERS TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IN UNSAFE CARS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA AGAIN. THIS IS THE FIFTH RECALL I HAVE HAD ON MY VEHICLE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO QUALLITY CONTROL ON WHAT THEY SELL.

TAKATA RECALL I AM FEELING UNSAFE DUE TO RECALL OF AIR BAG PENDING ON MY CAR. I HAVE VISITED TWO TIMES TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT. BUT THEY SAY NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING OUT WITH MY FAMILY IN THIS CAR NOW. I DON'T WANT TO SELL IT TO PRIVATE PARTY SINCE I KNOW IT IS UNSAFE. AND TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WILL PAY WAY LESS THAN ACTUAL WORTH OF CAR IF I TRADE IN , SINCE RECALL IS PENDING. SO ALL IN ALL I FEEL IN STALEMATE POSITION.

TAKATA RECALL AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE DURING DEC 2016 VEHICLE CRASH WHERE CAR WAS STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WAS HIT FROM THE REAR AND PUSHED INTO VEHICLE WHICH WAS IN FRONT OF TOYOTA. TOYOTA WAS TOTALED AT CRASH.

THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AND WAS STRUCK BY A BOX TRUCK. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE OF THE CRASH. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS A REPLACEMENT TIRE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

MY COMPLAINT IS THAT TOYOTA GIVES ME DIFFERENT ANSWERS EACH TIME I HAVE CALLED REGARDING PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. RECALL #16V-340. EVEN IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG EXPLODES IT CAN SHOOT METAL PARTS ACROSS AT DRIVER OR IN BACK AT PASSENGERS. I LIVE IN ZONE A AND ALSO DRIVE TO ARIZONA WHICH IS A LOT HOTTER THAN CA THE LAST CALL I MADE TO TOYOTA I WAS TOLD THEY HADN'T DECIDED THE BEST AVENUE TO GO!!! THAT TELLS ME THAT THEY HAVE NOT STARTED ON THE PROBLEM!!! MAYBE IF THINGS WERE MADE IN THE USA WE WOULDN'T HAVE ALL THESE RECALLS!!! THANK YOU.
