TAKATA RECALL. IN MAY 2016 I WAS NOTIFIED BY MAIL THAT TOYOTA IS RECALLING A TAKATA INFLATOR ON MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. I USE THIS CAR TO DRIVE MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER AND I TO WORK AND SHE CAN NO LONGER SAFELY OCCUPY THE FRONT SEAT PER THE RECALL INSTRUCTIONS AND TOYOTA'S SUGGESTION AGAINST IT. THIS IS DETRIMENTAL TO MY FINANCIAL SITUATION AS WE NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 CARS SO WE CAN DRIVE PLACES TOGETHER SAFELY. THERE IS STILL NO CONTACT FROM TOYOTA AS TO WHEN A RESOLUTION WILL COME.

I HAD AN ACCIDENT IN MY CAR ON THURSDAY, MAY 26, 2016. I WAS ON HIGHWAY 530 AND IT BEGAN TO RAIN REALLY HARD SO I DECIDED TO GET OFF IN THE NEXT EXIT WHICH WAS EXIT 34 AND BEFORE I COULD REACH THE EXIT MY CAR HYDROPLANE AND I ENDED UP HITTING TWO TREES BEFORE MY CAR CAME TO A STOP. MY RATE OF SPEED WAS 65 MPH AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND TO TOP IT OFF MY CAR IS TOTALED.

TAKATA RECALL. NHTSA RECALL NO. 16V-340. CAN YOU HELP SPEED UP WHEN THE REMEDY WILL BE AVAILABLE? ON MAY 23, 2016 TOYOTA ISSUED A RECALL NOTICE FOR OUR VEHICLE. THEY RECOMMEND WE DO NOT USE THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL WORK IS COMPLETE. BUT THEY STILL HAVE NOT MADE A REMEDY AVAILABLE!! IT IS JANUARY 2, 2017! I BELIEVE THEY HAVE ALREADY EXCEEDED A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO MAKE A REMEDY AVAILABLE. THE RECALL NOTICE RECOMMENDED SUBMITTING A COMPLAINT ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE IF TOYOTA IS NOT COMPLETING THE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME. CAN YOU HELP SPEED UP WHEN THE REMEDY WILL BE AVAILABLE? TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED MAY 24,2016 AT THAT TIME IT WAS ADVISED THAT WE NOT USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION IT TOOK OVER A YEAR TO GET THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. WE HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO UTILIZE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FOR OVER A YEAR SO WHEN WE TRAVELED WITH MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE IN THE CAR WE HAD TO TAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. I EVENTUALLY GOT MY GRANDCHILDREN FOR THE SUMMER AND ON THEN WAS I TOLD I COULD GET A LOANER VEHICLE SO IN MAY OF 2017 I WAS PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE AND MY PARTS CAME IN 2 WEEKS LATER. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IT WAS AN INCONVENIENCE AND I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE COMPENSATION FOR THAT.

TAKATA RECALL THERE IS STILL NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE WITH ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR IN THE BACK SEAT BEHIND THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. THE FIX IS TAKING AN UNREASONABLY LONG TIME FOR SUCH A SERIOUS RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL OF PASSENGER AIRBAG DUE TO DEGRADATION OF MATERIAL IN HOT/HUMID CLIMATES. RECALL WAS ISSUED 5/23/16, THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE AND NOT EVEN A PROJECTED TIMEFRAME OF WHEN ONE WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. IN THE MEANTIME, NO ONE CAN SIT IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT I SET ON IT, OR ELSE THE CONSEQUENCES COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THIS IS NERVE WRACKING AND INCONVENIENT. I FEEL.THAT TOYOTA SHOULD BE INVESTING THEIR RESOURCES IN DEVELOPING A REMEDY ASAP AND AM WONDERING WHAT THE HOLD UP IS.

IN MAY 2016, VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS PRODUCED BY TAKATA WERE RECALLED. ACCORDING TO TAKATA, THE PROPELLANT IN THESE INFLATORS MAY DEGRADE AFTER PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HIGH ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES. DEGRADED PROPELLANT CAN CAUSE INFLATOR RUPTURE DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER.

I WAS NOTIFIED MAY 23, 2016 OF THE DEFECT AND TOLD TO NOT HAVE SOMEONE RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS ALSO TOLD TOYOTA WAS PREPARING A "REMEDY" AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THIS "REMEDY" BECAME AVAILABLE AND MY VEHICLE WOULD BE FIXED. I HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM TOYOTA AND I THINK IT IS TAKING TOO LONG.
IT HAS BEEN FIVE MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE INTERIM NOTICE,TOYOTA STILL DID NOT SEND ME THE REMEDY NOTICE. I CALLED THEM MANY TIMES BUT THEY TOLD ME TO WAIT. I THINK THEY TOOK TOO LONG FOR REPAIR! WE ARE NOT ABLE TO USE THE FRONT SEAT. THEY EXPECT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!

I AM TOLD BY TOYOTA NOT TO HAVE A FRONT PASSENGER UNTIL A REMEDY IS IN PLACE FOR MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. THAT HAS BEEN THE STORY SINCE MAY 2016 AND IT'S NOW NOVEMBER 2016. WHAT CAN TOYOTA DO TO COMPENSATE FOR THE EXTREME INCONVENIENCE TO ME AND MY FAMILY? I GET STRESSED ON THE ROAD, KNOWING THAT I'M PUTTING MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN DANGER. HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE WE GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED? WHAT ABOUT PAYMENT FOR OUR STRESS AND INCONVENIENCE? CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT CAR UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED?
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIRBAGS THAT IS IN MY TOYOTA. THAT WAS ON 05/23/2016. IT IS NOT 11/23/2016, 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY TO THE ISSUE. I AM WAITING FOR TOYOTA TO PROVIDE A REMEDY AND IT IS TAKING AN UNUSUALLY LONG TIME FOR THEM TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION. THEY ARE RECOMMENDING THAT WE NOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND THAT IS AN EXTREME INCONVENIENCE. THEY ARE BASICALLY TAKING 1 PASSENGER SEAT AWAY FROM US. THIS MIGHT BE ACCEPTABLE FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME BUT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND OUTRAGEOUS FOR THEM TO MAKE TOYOTA OWNERS BASICALLY WAIT MONTHS FOR A REMEDY. HOW LONG ARE THEY GOING O MAKE US WAIT, 6 MONTHS, 1 YEAR, 2 YEARS. I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THE SITUATION.

HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN 8 MONTHS AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION VIA LETTER OR OTHERWISE AS TO WHEN THE REMEDY WILL OCCUR AND WHEN MY AIRBAGS WILL BE FIXED. I DO NOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE REGULARLY OR HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE FOR FEAR THAT BEING IN THE VEHICLE WHILE IT IS OPERATING WILL RESULT IN CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE AIRBAGS AND "SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH" TO ME OR MY PASSENGERS, AS LISTED IN THE LETTER I RECEIVED AS WHAT COULD HAPPEN. THIS IS A HARDSHIP FOR ME AS I NEED MY VEHICLE TO TRAVEL IN MY CITY. I WOULD LIKE THIS AIRBAG REMEDY IMPLEMENTED IMMEDIATELY SO I CAN SAFELY DRIVE MY VEHICLE AND DRIVE WITH PASSENGERS.
