THE D DISAPPEARED FROM ODOMETER AND THE ECHO LIGHT STARTED FLASHING LOST ALL POWER TO CAR AS IT STALLED. WHEN THE D REAPPEARED THE POWER TO VEHICLE CAM BACK ON. BEEN DOING IT EVER SINCE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, BECAUSE THE COMPUTER COULD NOT LOCATE AN ISSUE NOTHING WAS DONE THEY TRIED SENDING ME ON MY WAY. THEY SAID THEY TEST DOVE IT BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I THEN INSISTED THAT ANOTHER TEST DRIVE WITH ME IN CAR. IT STARTED DOING IT RIGHT AWAY AT 35-40 MPH. TOOK CAR BACK IN SHOP FOUND OUT COMPUTER CONNECTED TO TRANSMISSION WAS SHORTING OUT. ONE MECH. SAID HE SEEN IT ONE TIME BEFORE. I THINK THAT INFO SHOULD HAVE BEEN PASSED AROUND TO REST ON MECH TO KNOW ABOUT. I'M STILL DRIVING THE CAR HAVING SAME ISSUE WAITING FOR A ME COMPUTER TO BE DELIVERED. THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE CAR GAVE ME A LOANER. I COME 25 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK I'M TAKING CITY STREETS TO KEEP OF FREEWAY BECAUSE I CANNOT KEEP THE SPEED WITH TRAFFIC. *TR
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2015 COROLLA S ON MARCH 2015, A MONTH LATER I STARTED TO HEAR CREEKING NOISE WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKES PEDAL, WENT TO THE DEALER THEY TESTED THE CAR AND SAID "YES WE HEARD THE SOUND BUT YOUR BRAKE IS TOTALLY PERFECT AND IS SAFE TO DRIVE". I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE CAR BUT THE SAME SOUND LIKE CRACKLING STILL THERE WHEN I BRAKE. I WENT AGAIN TO THEM, THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR TWO OR THREE DAYS AND THEY SAID "WE CHANGED THE FRONT BRAKE SHIMS". AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY SAID, YOUR CAR NOW IS TOTALLY SAFE. AFTER THAT I STARTED TO FEEL THAT THE BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE CAR AS FAST AS IT WAS BEFORE NOR AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A NEW CAR PLUS A NEW CREEKING SOUND THAT I COULDN'T DETECT FROM FRONT OR REAR WHEELS, AT THAT TIME IT WAS MY FIRST SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE VISIT SO I TOLD THEM ABOUT IT, THEN THEY SAID "WE TESTED THE CAR AND THE BRAKES WORK WELL", I SAID "I KNOW IT WORKS BUT NOT PERFECTLY & NOT AS FAST AS BEFORE", THEY SAID "DON'T WORRY IT'S SAFE". A YEAR LATER "JANUARY 2016", I HAD A SMALL FREEWAY ACCIDENT WHERE I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME DUE TO A QUICK STOP AND I HIT MY BRAKES AS FAST AS POSSIBLE BUT STILL HIT THE CAR AND THE INSURANCE SAID I'M AT FAULT. A YEAR AND HALF LATER "JULY 2017" MY WIFE HAD A BIG BIG FREEWAY ACCIDENT ALSO DUE TO A QUICK STOP FROM THE CAR IN FRONT, WE HAD A MASSIVE DAMAGE TO OUR CAR AND OF COURSE THE INSURANCE SAID WE ARE AT FAULT. TWO MONTH LATER "SEPTEMBER 2017" SAME THING HAPPENED A QUICK STOP ON FREEWAY AND AT THIS TIME I FELT LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING WEIRD GOING ON, I HAD ENOUGH TIME AND DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND THE CAR IN FRONT BUT STILL I CRASHED HIM. EVERY TIME I WAS SAYING I CANNOT PROVE THAT THERE IS A DEFECT WITHIN THE CAR ITSELF, BUT I STILL HAVE THE SAME FEELING OF THE SLOW RESPONDING BRAKES AND THE FEEL THAT THE CAR RUNS UNDER MY FEET UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES EVEN AS FAST AND POWERFUL AS POSSIBLE.

THE LOW-BEAM LIGHT DESIGN ON THE LENS COVER CUTS OFF THE TOP VIEW OF LIGHT AT NIGHT TIME. YOU SEE LIGHT FROM THE GROUND UP BUT ONLY HALFWAY UP. FROM THERE YOU ONLY SEE DARKNESS. IT LOOKS LIKE A HALF-LIT MOON BEAM FROM THE GROUND UP. YOU ONLY SEE THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE TREES IT IS LIKE A STRAIGHT LINE DRAWN BETWEEN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR VIEW IN FRONT OF THE CAR. WHITE ON THE BOTTOM HALF AND BLACK ON THE TOP HALF. I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE MY CAR AROUND CURVES AND LULLS IN THE ROADS. YOUR NIGHT VISION IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. IT IS VERY STRAINING TO HAVE TO LOOK AHEAD AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU HAVE TO KEEP TWO DIFFERENT COLORS SEPARATED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING BRAND NEW VEHICLE ONLY 2 HOURS OLD . I WAS IN EXTREME RIGHT LANE WHEN TRACTOR TRAILER FROM MIDDLE LANE ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES ,INTO MY LANE SEVERELY IMPACTING DRIVERS SIDE OF VEHICLE NO SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME CAME TO A SUDDEN UNEXPECTED SLOW DOWN AND I IMPACTED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND AGAIN NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ALSO WHEN TRACTOR TRAILER HIT ME I IMMEDIATELY HIT BRAKES AND BOTH FRONT TIRES EXPLODED. NO SAFETY ITEMS IN CAR DEPLOYED CAUSING ME TO HAVE MULTIPLE INJURIES
MY VEHICLE SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF A STOPPED VEHICLE AFTER I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES. MY ENTIRE FRONT END WAS EXTREMELY DAMAGED. MY 14 YEAR OLD AVERAGE SIZED DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY CAR WAS EXTREMELY DAMAGED (THE ENTIRE FRONT END---HOOD AND ALL. IT WAS SMOKING AFTER THE CRASH).
I GOT THE CRASH FROM PASSENGER SIDE, SO THEY REPLACED TWO DOORS. BUT, SIDE AIRBAG WAS NOT DEPLOYED. SO, MY WIFE WAS SMASHED TO THE WINDOW. FORTUNATELY. SHE WAS NOT HURT MUCH. HOW DOES SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOY? HOW MUCH IS THE ACCIDENT CAN DEPLOY? THEY, TOYOTA, ARE NOT ANSWER TO ME. *TR
THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND FAILED TO ROTATE WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. USING MY FULL WEIGHT I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AND THANKFULLY ONCOMING TRAFFIC AVOIDED HITTING ME. TOYOTA TOWED MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY TWO MONTHS, AND IT WAS PURCHASED WITH LESS THAN 10 MILES. AFTER A DAY OF TESTING, I WAS TOLD THAT AN ELECTRICAL ITEM MALFUNCTIONED. THE PIECE HAS TO BE REPLACED AND IS ON BACKORDER. IT WAS AN EXTREMELY SCARY INCIDENT AND UNBELIEVABLE CONSIDERING THE AGE OF MY VEHICLE. *TR
IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED RE:2015 TOYOTA COROLLA ? DANGEROUS STEERING FAILURE DEAR NHTSA, ON DECEMBER 8, 2014, I PURCHASED A NEW 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA. ON FEBRUARY 9, 2015, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO OPERATE WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN, LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TURNING THE WHEEL CAUSED NO INPUT TO THE WHEELS. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT ?THE COMPUTER BECAME OVERWHELMED.? THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOT A WRECK. AFTER STOPPING, THERE WERE NO WARNINGS LIGHTS OR MESSAGES. I CLICKED EVERY DISPLAY FEATURE IN AN ATTEMPT TO DECIPHER WHAT HAD GONE SO WRONG WITH MY NEW CAR. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, WAITED A MOMENT, AND IT TURNED IT BACK ON AT WHICH TIME THE STEERING WHEEL WARNING SIGN APPEARED. I WAS ILL AND HAD A DOCTOR?S APPOINTMENT, SO I REACHED OUT TO TOYOTACARE AS SOON AS MY APPOINTMENT CONCLUDED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT AUTONATION HAS ALWAYS PROVIDED TOPNOTCH SERVICE, AND THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO DO SO THROUGH THIS DANGEROUS, DISAPPOINTING AND PUZZLING FAILURE. THEIR SERVICE TECHNICIAN ADVISED ME THAT THE PART IS BACKORDERED AND LET ME KNOW IT WILL BE AT LEAST ONE WEEK BEFORE THE PART ARRIVES AND IS INSTALLED. TODAY, THEY TOLD ME THAT TOYOTA ENGINEER CAME TO INSPECT THE CAR AND THAT TOYOTA IS TAKING THE APPARENTLY DEFECTIVE PART FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE VIEW MIRRORS EXHIBITED A GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD WHICH DISTORTED THE VISIBILITY. THE REFLECTION WAS PERMANENT AND OCCURRED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO SUNLIGHT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300.
THIS IS AN ENTERPRISE RENTAL VEHICLE WHICH, FOR THE SECOND TIME, ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, GEAR IN REVERSE AND FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT NOT APPLYING THE BRAKE YET WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED IN REVERSE. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER SEVERAL FEET. THERE WAS NOTHING BEHIND THE VEHICLE SO NOTHING WAS DAMAGED. *TR
THIS IS AN ENTERPRISE RENTAL VEHICLE WHICH I HAD JUST PICKED UP FROM ENTERPRISE IN MECHANICSBURG, PA. AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY GARAGE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT HAD NOT YET PRESSED DOWN ON IT TO APPLY THE BRAKE. SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND RACED FORWARD. I QUICKLY APPLIED THE BRAKES AND IT STOPPED SHORT OF HITTING ITEMS INSIDE THE GARAGE. *TR
STOPPED AT STOP LIGHT TO MAKE LEFT HAD TURN. WAS WAVED ON BY DRIVER IN OPPOSITE LANE AS I STARTED TO MAKE THE TURN I WAS HIT BY ON COMING CAR. UPON IMPACT ALL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, INCLUDING SIDE AIR BAGS WHICH SHOULDN'T OF HAPPENED SINCE THE IMPACT OF THE CAR WAS IN THE FRONT. THE SIDE AIR BAG HIT THE PASSENGER WHICH CAUSED HIM TO BE INJURED. *TR

ON DECEMBER 24TH 2014 I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE (2014 TOYOTA COROLLA S) IN (D) AND WAS TRYING TO SLOW DOWN, BECAUSE THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME BRAKE. WHEN I DEPRESSED MY BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND CONTINUED TO BRAKE AND IT EVENTUALLY SLOWED ME DOWN. I SHIFTED BACK INTO (D) AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY, ALTHOUGH SHAKEN UP. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE GOOD, THERE WAS NO RAIN OR ICE ON THE ROAD THAT DAY. I CHECKED MY FLOOR MATS TO SEE IF THEY WERE STICKING TO THE ACCELERATION PEDAL WHEN I GOT INTO THE DRIVEWAY, BUT I DID NOT NOTICE ANY SUCH DEFECT WITH THE FLOOR MATS STICKING TO THE PEDAL. A FEW WEEKS LATER DRIVING TO WORK ON 01/20/2015 AROUND THE SAME SPEED ON THE SAME ROAD CONDITIONS THE VEHICLE GAVE ME UNWANTED ACCELERATION AGAIN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE. I PERFORMED THE SAME WAY I HAD PREVIOUSLY, I ENTERED INTO NEUTRAL AND BRAKED, EXCEPT THIS TIME I CAME WITHIN INCHES OF THE VEHICLE FORWARD OF ME. THE NEXT DAY ON 01/21/2015 WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THE VEHICLE AGAIN PERFORMED THE EXACT SAME MALFUNCTION AS THE PREVIOUS DAY. ON ALL DAYS THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE FINE AND SHOULD HAVE NOT AFFECTED THE VEHICLES PERFORMANCE. I DECIDED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD LEASED THE VEHICLE. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT AND HAD LEFT IT THERE 01/24/2015-01/26/2015. I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK ON 01/26/2015 AND THE MASTER MECHANIC FOUND NO DEFECTS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER WOULD CONTACT ME. AFTER HE HAD NOT FOR A FEW DAYS, I DECIDED TO CALL HIM. I HAD GOTTEN HIS VOICEMAIL AND LEFT A MESSAGE. TO DATE I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER. I HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS AND BEGIN A VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT. I WOULD LIKE THIS MATTER RESOLVED BEFORE MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE BECOMES INJURED OR WORSE. *TR
CAR DRIFTS TOWARD THE LEFT THUS CAUSES CONSTANT CORRECTION ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 30 AND ABOVE. CONTROLLING THIS IS VERY TIRING AND MORE IMPORTANTLY CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITH THE CAR IN THE OTHER LANE. WITH THIS DISTRACTION IT LEAVES ONE NOT GIVING OTHER SAFETY OBSERVATIONS AS MUCH TIME TO MONITOR.. TOYOTA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS IN OLDER MODEL YEARS BUT HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS IT SINCE NOT ENOUGH OWNERS CARS OR AFFECTED BY THIS DRIFTING OR SIMPLY THRU APATHY. AS I UNDERSTAND IT, IT IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE ECU UNIT THAT IS PART OF THE STEERING UNIT. MY PREDICTION IS THAT NOTHING WILL COME OUT OF THIS COMPLAINTS AS WITH OTHER OWNERS HAVE REPORTED ON GOOGLE. *TR
