There are 2 owner-reported fuel system complaints for the 2016 Toyota Priusin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
Driving on the freeway the car stalled and was unable to accelerate. The issue seems identical to the 2020 recall. 2020-06-23 Recall no. 20V369000 Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2013-2015 Prius and 2014-2017 Prius V vehicles not included in recall 18V-684. Excessive voltage in the Intelligent Power Module (IPM) within the inverter may cause the hybrid system to shut down, causing the vehicle to stall while being driven. I was told by the service center that my car is not on the recall list so they are unable to work it as a recall.
SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS HOT MY PRIUS DOES NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED FOR 1 OR MORE SECONDS; THIS MAKES IT A DEATH-TRAP ON LEFT TURNS. TOYOTA DEALERS HAVE SERVICED IT 3 TIMES FOR THIS COMPLAINT WITH NO RESOLUTION. *TR
