RUST UNDER HOOD
I WAS COMING TO A STOPLIGHT AND PRESS THE BRAKES THE CAR CAME TO STOP THEN THE ENGINE REVVED UP VERY FAST. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKES BUT THE ENGINE WAS REVVING VERY FAST THAT I HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING FORWARD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK THEN THE ENGINE STOP REVVING.
MY 2012 TOYOTA RAV4 DRIVER SIDE VISOR STARTED FALLING DOWN ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, LATER WOULD FALL DOWN AND WOULDN'T GO BACK UP AND STAY. THEN IS WAS VERY LOOSE. I WOULD MOVE IT TO THE SIDE BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE TO DRIVE. THIS LAST TIME I TRIED TO MOVE IT TO THE SIDE IT COMPLETELY FELL OFF. MY PASSENGER SIDE IS DOING IT AS WELL AND MAKING IT HARD FOR THE PASSENGERS TO SEE AND EVEN MYSELF BECAUSE IT'S CONSTANTLY BLOCKING MY VIEW OF THAT SIDE. I'M VERY AGGRAVATED BECAUSE I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA! MY VEHICLE WASN'T CHEAP BUT APPARENTLY THE PARTS THEY PUT IN THEM ARE. I AM INCLUDING THE FIRST PICTURE OF ME AT A 4WAY RED LIGHT TO SHOW MY VIEW DRIVING AND AT A RED LIGHT, I CAN'T SEE AND HAVE TO BEND DOWN TO DO SO. ALSO THE LIGHT NO LONGER WORKS ON THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. I ALSO INCLUDED PICTURES OF THE FABRIC BUBBLING OFF. MY VEHICLE WAS GARBAGE KEPT FOR 6 YEARS AND FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO IT'S BEEN OUTSIDE. ALSO, MY WIPERS POP AND GET STUCK WHEN TRYING TO USE THEM. EVEN IF IT'S RAINING OR JUST CLEANING MY WINDSHIELD OFF. THEY WILL GO AND THEN IT'S LIKE IT CAN'T AND GETS STUCK BUT IT LITERALLY WILL MAKE A POP SOUND AND BOUNCE WHEN TRYING TO USE THEM. IT SOUNDS RIDICULOUS AND EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT THEM WHEN RIDING WITH ME. I'M SO FRUSTRATED WITH IT. THEY HAVE DONE IT THE WHOLE TIME I'VE OWNED IT AND I'M THE ONLY OWNER OF IT.
I WAS COMING TO A STOPLIGHT AND I PUT MY FOOT IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CAR SLOWED DOWN, CAME TO A STOP BUT THEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ENGINE REVED UP TO 3000 RPM. THE BRAKES WERE BARELY ABLE TO KEEP THE CAR STOPPED SO I HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. I WAS IN DRIVE THE WHOLE TIME. ONCE THE LIGHT CHANGED, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ONTO TO GAS PEDAL AND THE RPM'S DROPPED BACK TO 1000. IT HASN'T HAPPENED SINCE THEN. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY COULDN'T FIX ANYTHING.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY GOING STRAIGHT WITH A SPEED OF APPROX. 60 MPH, I HEARD A STRANGE ENGINE NOISE. I SAW THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT FLICKERING AND THEN I EXITED THE HIGHWAY, PARKING ON A NEARBY STREET. I CHECKED THE OIL AND THE DIP STICK WAS DRY. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO A AUTO SHOP. THE FIRST SHOP ( NOT TOYOTA) DETERMINED THE OIL LEAK WAS FROM THE OIL FILTER CAP O-RING WHICH PART OF IT FLATTEN AND EXTENDED OUT CAUSING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL TO LEAK OUT. THE SECOND SHOP( NOT TOYOTA) WHO DID THE LAST OIL CHANGE ( UNKNOWN BRAND OF FILTER KIT USED) REPLACED THE ORIGINAL PLASTIC OIL FILTER CAP WITH AN AFTER MARKET METAL ONE AND REFILLED APPROX. 3 QUARTS OF OIL. I WAS NEVER TOLD WHAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM WITH THE OIL FILTER CAP O-RING. SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FINE BUT I'M CONCERNED THIS MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN.
O2 SENSOR AND OTHER SENSORS KEEP LIGHTING UP
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND MAKING A TURN. RPM WENT UP TO 7,000 UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED FULLY SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE CAR WAS SUSPENDED AND TURNED OFF AND STARTED BACK ON WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED TO ENSURE PROPER SAFETY MEASURES IN CASE THE VEHICLE JOLTS FORWARD. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES OCCURRED DURING THE INCIDENT AS THE VEHICLE WAS PUT TO A STOP SAFELY BEFORE OTHER PARTIES WOULD BE INVOLVED. LOCAL DEALERSHIP DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE IT IN FOR PROPER INSPECTION WITHOUT A DIAGNOSTIC PAYMENT.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS MEANS THAT IN CASE OF A VEHICLE CRASH MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, YET I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS OTHER RAV 4 OWNERS THAT HAVE VIN NUMBERS WITHIN THE RECALL. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME $88.00 PER HALF HOUR TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THAT'S NOT FAIR TO ME.
I COULD NOT START MY VEHICLE ON 7/26/2018. I CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND GOT A JUMP START FROM A POWER DEVICE. I WAS DRIVING TOWARDS TOYOTA SERVICE. SUDDENLY MY VEHICLE STOPPED ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS COMPLETELY DISABLED: NO POWER STIRRING, NOT EVEN ALARM SIGNAL WORKING. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY, MORE LIKELY, I WOULD NOT BE ALIVE TODAY. SAME DRIVER WHO WOULD HIT ME FROM BEHIND, BECAUSE DISABLED VEHICAL STOPED IN A MOMENT. I AM SURE, NOBODY MUST DRIVE TOYOTA RAV4 2012. IF BATTERY IS NOT FUNCTIONING, THERE MUST BE INDICATION ON THE DASHBOARD BEFORE THE VEHICLE GET DISABLED, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING TO TELL ME THAT VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE. FOR REFERENCE : A) BATTERY. TRUE STAR BATTERY. WARANTY 2 YEARS. DIED IN 10 MONTHS. B) THE INCIDENT FILED IN TOYOTA AS #1808151393. NO RESOLUTION. C) SERVICE. FRED HAAS TOYOTA. 22435 SH 249, HOUSTON, TX 77070. I WAS IN A PARKING AREA LOOKING FOR A PARKING SPOT. I HAD JUST DRIVEN UP A SLIGHT INCLINE AND CRESTED THE TOP WHEN I SPOTTED AN OPEN SPACE ON THE LEFT. I BRAKED SLIGHTLY TO TURN INTO THE SPOT, LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE BUT KEPT IT COVERED AND MADE THE LEFT TURN INTENDING TO COAST INTO THE SPOT. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN THE VEHICLE INEXPLICABLY ACCELERATED AT WHICH POINT I SLAMMED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE ENDING UP CROSS WAYS IN THE PARKING SPOT AND JUST SHORT OF A PARKING SIGN IN FRONT ON THE CURB. THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO IDLE SPEED. THE THROTTLE PEDAL, WHICH IS TOP MOUNTED, WAS EXAMINED AND FOUND TO BE CLEAR AND FREE. NO IDEA WHAT MIGHT BE THE CAUSE, MOST LIKELY ELECTRONICALLY RELATED. FRIGHTENING SITUATION.
SUN VISOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE WILL NOT STAY UP. HANGS MIDWAY DOWN CAUSING HAZARD IF I LEAN FORWARD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA RAV4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A DISTORTION WAS NOTICED STRAIGHT ACROSS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE DISTORTION WAS APPROXIMATELY FIVE INCHES FROM WHERE THE DASHBOARD MET THE WINDSHIELD. THE DISTORTION ON THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOTICEABLE FROM THE DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED TWO YEARS AGO. THE CONTACT COMMENTED THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN MORE NOTICEABLE TO HER BECAUSE SHE WAS SHORT IN STATURE. THE DEALER (OXMOOR TOYOTA, 8003 SHELBYVILLE ROAD, LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY 40222) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

AUTO CHECK REPORTED MULTIPLE OWNERS, , SCORE 68. DEALESHIP DID NOT REVEAL ANY OF THIS WHEN PURCHASED--ONLY FOUND OUT WHEN DIRECT GENERAL CANCELED POLICY BECAUSE OF AUTO CONDITION---DEALERSHIP ONLY USES CARFAX--FRONT BUMPER LOOSE AND CRINKLED, HOOD CRINKLED, BRAKES WERE NOT NEW AS WAS TOLD-A COVER UNDER HOOD MISSING WHICH COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WOULD NOT STAY UP ALL THE WAY, OBSTRUCTING VIEW. CAR IS NOT OLD ENOUGH OR DRIVEN HARD ENOUGH FOR SUCH A COMMON COMPONENT TO FAIL SO QUICKLY. IT'S NOT A CHEAP FIX - DEALER QUOTED ME $174 THOUGH THERE ARE SOME YOUTUBE VIDEOS THAT SHOW HOW TO BUY THE PART AND FIX IT YOURSELF. HAVING READ ABOUT OTHER RAV4 OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE, IT SEEMS LIKE A TOYOTA QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE.
PULL INTO PARKING PLACE STEP ON THE BRAKES .THE CAR SEAM S IF THE GAS WAS ENGAGE
WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STAND STILL THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE FEELS VERY LOOSE AND WOBBLY AS IF A WHEEL WAS ABOUT TO COME OFF. IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE IS PRODUCING A VIBRATING OR THUMPING THAT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROGRESSING ISSUE. THE VIBRATION/THUMPING HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND OUR MECHANIC STATES THAT THE BEARING AND WHEEL BALANCE ARE GOOD.
MY O2 SENSORS CONTINUE TO GO OUT CAUSING MULTIPLE DASH LIGHTS TO COME ON ALONG WITH GAS CONSUMPTION IF NOT REPLACED IMMEDIATELY! I HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS WHEN THIS HAPPENED, NOW AGAIN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE KELLY TOYOTA (1 MARY JANE WOOD DR, UNION TOWN, PA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VISOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA RAV4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE, TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITOL TOYOTA (783 AUTO GROUP AVE, NE, SALEM, OREGON 97301) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN TURNED OFF THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR AND PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,655.
MY 2012 RAV4 MAIN EVAP CANISTER WENT BAD AT ONLY 77,113 MILES. IT ALMOST COSTED ME $1550 TO GET THIS PART REPLACED, BUT THANKFULLY WAS ABLE TO CONVINCE THE DEALERSHIP TO GET ME A DEAL ON THE REPAIR. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS PART TO GO BAD SO QUICKLY. I DO NOT TOP OFF MY GAS AND I HAVE HAD IT IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. TO MAKE THE SITUATION WORSE, WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THE 4WD AND TRACTION CONTROL UNITS TURN OFF, MAKING MY CAR HARD TO CONTROL IN THE SNOW. I WAS TOLD BY TUFFY THIS IS A COMMON THING AND THAT WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR OLDER VEHICLES. THE CODE WAS ON FOR A FEW WEEKS, DIDN'T CLEAR. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED AT TUFFY AND THE DEALERSHIP, SAME DIAGNOSIS. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION JERKING WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, EVEN IN WARM WEATHER, WHEN IT'S THE FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 40K ON IT.
SUNROOF GLASS CRACKED WITH A LOUD BANG WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, AT ABOUT 55 MPH. WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND WARM (NOT VERY HOT). NO OTHER VEHICLES CLOSE BY. NO FLYING DEBRIS OBSERVED PRIOR TO LOUD BANG. ENTIRE PANE WAS RIDDLED WITH CRACKS. DURING SUBSEQUENT TRIP INTO TOWN, SOME OF THE GLASS PIECES CAME LOOSE AND FLEW OFF, LEAVING A LARGE HOLE SURROUNDED BY UNSTABLE GLASS.
CLOSED SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY.
THE CHECK ENGINE, TRAC OFF AND 4WD LIGHTS WILL ALL COME ON TOGETHER AND STAY ON FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN GO OFF AGAIN. THIS KEEPS HAPPENING
WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND BEEN CALLING THE DEALER REPEATEDLY. THEY STATE AS OF TODAY THEY STILL CAN NOT CORRECT THE DEFECT AS THEY HAVE NO PARTS AND HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED. NOR WILL THEY SCHEDULE TO REPAIR INTO THE FUTURE. THIS RECALL EFFECTS THE SEAT BELTS IN THE BACK SEAT, WHICH IS WHERE MY CHILDREN SIT.
PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR EXPLODED SPONTANEOUSLY LEAVING BEHIND ONLY ITS ASSEMBLY. VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AT 15 MPH THRU A SMALL TOWN WITH NO TURNS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA RAV4. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V096000 (SEAT BELTS) AND 15V577000 (VISIBILITY/WIPER). THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOHN BROTHERS TOYOTA (LOCATED AT 3800 LAPALCO BLVD HARVEY, LA, 70058) ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHO STATED THAT THE RECALL REMEDY PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE ATTEMPTED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THE WAIT TIME WAS LONG AND THE LINE DISCONNECTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE RAV4 2012 FWD BASE WITH 41000 MILES, AND HAVE A REGULAR MAINTENANCE. - WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (30-40 MPG) IN CITY, THE DRIVING IS NOT COMFORTABLE BECAUSE I FEEL ALL OF THE VIBRATION IN WHEELS. ALSO, SMALL OSCILLATION DOES NOT DISAPPEAR AND MAINTAIN IN LONG TIME. - WHEN DRIVING IN A HIGHWAY, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE A LITTLE BUMPY ROAD MAKES MY RAV4 OSCILLATED VERY VERY SEVERELY SO THAT I SHOULD BE VERY CAREFULLY IN ORDER TO CONTROL MY CAR FOR DRIVING IN STRAIGHT DIRECTION, AND NOT TO BEING TURNED OVER. - WHEN MY CAR IS IN STATIONARY, I CAN SHAKE MY CAR WITH MY HAND. I THOUGHT IT WAS A CHARACTERISTICS OF SUV BECAUSE I HAD DRIVEN A SEDAN BEFORE RAV4. BUT, I ASKED TO INSPECT MY CAR IN A TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER, AND A MECHANIC SAID THAT THE REAR STRUTS AND SUSPENSIONS ARE WORN OUT, AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, HE SAID THAT THE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS WOULD SHOW A MALFUNCTIONING IN A NEAR FUTURE. THE MECHANIC SHOOK MY CAR WITH HIS HAND, AND MY CAR WAS SHAKEN ACCORDING TO HIS HAND. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT CARS SHOULD NOT BE SHAKEN BY HANDS. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH TOYOTA AUTO. I SHOULD SPEND MORE THAN 2,000 DOLLARS TO FIX THE FRONT AND REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS WITH AFTER-MARKET PRICE. I HEARD THAT TOYOTA RECALLED FOR REAR SUSPENSION PROBLEM 2006~2011 RAV4. BUT, I THINK THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2012 RAV4.
2013 TOYOTA RAV4 W/ 40K MILES HAD THIRD ACTUATOR POWER DOOR LATCH FAIL ON A THIRD DOOR IN 5 MONTHS. LOOKING AT OTHER RECENT COMPLAINTS, OF A SIMILAR NATURE, THIS MAY INDEED BE THE RESULT OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. PLEASE CONSIDER ISSUING A RECALL. MOST RECENT FAILURE IS THE DOOR MY 2 YEAR OLD USES, I WOULD HATE TO THINK OF AN EMERGENCY WHERE I COULDN'T GET HER OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS LOCKED. WHEN THE FIRST DOOR, DRIVER, WENT OUT (DEC 2016), I HAD IT FIXED AT MY MECHANIC THINKING IT WAS A FLUKE. WHEN THE SECOND DOOR, PASSENGER, WENT OUT MAR 2017, I CONTACTED TOYOTA & WAS TOLD TO GET THE PROBLEM CONFIRMED BY THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH I DID. THEY OFFERED ME A GOODWILL PYMT FOR THE SECOND DOOR ONLY, NOT THE FIRST, DESPITE HOW RECENTLY THE FIRST DOOR FAILED. IN MAY 2017 THE THIRD DOOR, BACK DRIVER, IS NOW FAILING & THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THEY "ARE DECLINING TO OFFER ME ANY ASSISTANCE IN FIXING THIS ACTUATOR OR ANY FUTURE ACTUATOR LOCKS BECAUSE THEY GO OUT LIKE LIGHTBULBS EVERY 4 YEARS." I CANNOT BELIEVE TOYOTA KNOWINGLY MANUFACTURES VEHICLES W/ A PART THAT IT 'EXPECTS' TO FAIL EVERY 4 YEARS, LEAVING THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH A $2500 BILL THAT FREQUENTLY. WE ESCALATED THIS FROM THE INITIAL "CUST SERVICE" REP, ALEX S., TO HIS SUPERVISOR, ASHLEY, AND THEY BOTH SAID THEY ARE CHOOSING NOT TO HELP US ANY FURTHER WITH THIS PROBLEM ON DOOR NUMBER 3 (OR 1) OR DOORS 4 AND 5 WHEN THEY INEVITABLY GO OUT AS WELL. MY HUSBAND ALSO OWNS A 2013 RAV4, SO WE ARE BEING TOLD TO EXPECT TO PAY $5000 EVERY 4 YEARS IF WE WANT OUR DOORS TO LOCK. WE HAVE PURCHASED TOYOTAS BASED ON THEIR REPUTATION OF QUALITY AND I AM BAFFLED TOYOTA IS KNOWINGLY STICKING THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH EXPENSIVE PARTS THAT FAIL WITH THIS FREQUENCY. IT IS ALSO WORTH NOTING, MY CAR ISN'T EVEN 4 YEARS OLD YET AND WAS JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD WHEN THE I EXPERIENCED THE FIRST FAILURE DEC 2016.

DRIVER SIDE REAR QUARTER PANEL STARTED ON FIRE. THIS OCCURRED AFTER AN APPROXIMATELY 4 MILE DRIVE. I BELIEVE THE FIRE STARTED ON THE DRIVE. I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT WITH ONLY ONE OTHER VEHICLE. WHEN I WAS WALKING INTO THE STORE I SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC BUT DID NOT RELATE IT TO MY CAR BURNING. I WAS IN THE STORE ABOUT 5 MINUTES. WHEN I WALKED OUT I SAW THE FIRE. THERE WAS NO OUTSIDE INFLUENCE TO THE FIRE AND NOTHING INSIDE THE VEHICLE VEHICLE. THE ONLY THING IN THAT AREA OF THE VEHICLE IS WIRING.

THE CONTACT'S SUFFERED BRUISING FROM THE SEAT BELT, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000.
I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS 04/06/2015 WITH MY BRAKES GRINDING AND VIBRATING THE FRONT OF MY 2012 RAV 4. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PUT NEW BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACED THE FRONT ROTORS. 42,968 MILES ON THE CAR.. I WAS TOLD THESE NEW BRAKE PADS HAD A LIFE TIME WARRANTY ON THEM.. AGAIN DEC. 2016 I STARTED HAVING THE SAME ISSUES SO I HAD TO TAKE THE RAV 4 BACK IN FOR SERVICE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE BRAKES UNTIL THE BRAKE PADS ARE WORN DOWN MORE. I CAN NOT DRIVE A CAR WITH MY BRAKES GRINDING AND VIBRATING THE FRONT END OF MY CAR WHEN I USE THE BRAKES. THE BRAKES ARE GRINDING DOWN INTO THE ROTORS BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WHERE BLUE.. WHICH MEANS THEY ARE HOT. I'M NOT A MECHANIC BUT THESE PADS I'M BEING TOLD ARE TO HARD AND THEY ARE GRINDING INTO THE ROTORS. I WAS TO HEAR BACK FROM THE TOYOTA GARAGE BECAUSE THEY WHERE TO ORDER THESE NEW TYPE PADS FOR MY RAV4. I WAITED A WEEK AND NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THE GARAGE. SO I TOOK THE SUV TO ANOTHER REPAIR SERVICE TO HAVE THESE BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACED.. THE GRINDING AND VIBRATING HAS STOPPED. AND I FEEL SAFE TO NOW DRIVE MY RAV 4.. WHEN YOUR HAVING GRINDING // VIBRATING OF THE BRAKES ON YOUR CAR I DON'T BELIEVE THAT'S A SAFE WAY TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE.. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO DRIVE OVER 35 MILES AN HOUR FOR THIS GRINDING// VIBRATING TO START. IT WOULD ONLY HAPPEN 50-60% OF THE TIME I WOULD USE MY BRAKES.. BUT THAT'S 50-60% OF THE TIME TO MUCH. THE BRAKES ON A VEHICLE ARE VERY IMPORTANT. I MADE THIS REPAIR GARAGE GIVE ME THE BRAKE PADS AND THE ROTORS. SO I DID KEEP THEM.. I'M NOT GOING TO BE THE ACCIDENT THAT TAKES MY LIFE "THEN THERE"S A RECALL" ON THESE FAULTY BRAKE PADS.. BEING TO HARD AND GRINDING INTO THE ROTORS. THIS IS MY 5TH TOYOTA AND MY 3RD RAV4. IT SEEMS THAT TOYOTA UK COULD NOT WORK WITH THE VIN I SUPPLIED AND FINALLY REQUESTED A PHOTO IN FEB 2017; , I SENT THE PHOTO ORIGINALLY ON 14 FEB. I HAVE HAD TO RESEND THE PHOTO THIS MORNING, APPROX. (1 HOUR AGO 1018 GMT 21 APR) TO STEVEN EAGELL TOYOTA, CAMBRIDGE UK (WHO WERE JARDIN MOTORS GROUP WHEN I STARTED TRYING TO GET THIS SORTED OUT LAST FALL.. THE LARGEST SNAFU SEEMS. TO BE THAT TOYOTA UK MUST HAVE AUTHORIZATION FROM TOYOTA US TO GET THE PARTS AND PERFORM THE WARRANTEE WORK I AM HOPING THAT MY FILING THE COMPLAINT FROM THIS END MIGHT EXPEDITE TOYOTA US AUTHORIZING THE REPAIRS. SO THAT I CAN GET THE SEATBELT REPLACEMENT COMPLETED. THIS IS BECOMING URGENT ON MY END AS I NEED TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK COMPLETED BEFORE I CAN HAVE THE CAR SHIPPED BACK TO THE US. WHILE STOPPED IN A LEFT TURN LANE AT A MAJOR CITY INTERSECTION BEHIND A LINE OF ABOUT 6 STOPPED CARS, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO RACE AT HIGH SPEED. THE CAR MOVED FORWARD AND HIT THE REAR OF THE CAR IN FRONT BEFORE I COULD DEPRESS THE BRAKE HARD. I DID THAT, PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL, APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AT THE IGNITION KEY BEFORE CHECKING ON THE CONDITION OF THE FOLKS IN THE CAR IN FRONT. THERE WAS NO WAY THAT I COULD HAVE MISTAKEN WHICH PEDAL WAS WHICH, AS I WAS ALREADY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO KEEP FROM MOVING.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN LATE 2015. PART NEEDED TO SATISFY RECALL AS OF AUG. 2016 IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE AT LOCAL DEALER. WORRIED ABOUT POSSIBLE FAILURE OF WIPERS DURING TRAVEL.
THE DOOR LOCKS WONT LOCK WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE..THEY USE TO WORK BUT NOW I HAVE TO LOCK THEM WITH THE BUTTON AND I HAVE A 21/2 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGTER WHO SITS IN THE BACK AND AM AFRAID WHEN THE CAR IS GOING CAN OPEN THE CAR WHEN IT IS GOING DOWN THE ROAD IF THE DOORS ARE NOT LOCKED.
