I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA TRAC CONTROL, VSC, AND ABS LIGHTS GOING, ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES SINCE NEW, BUT THEY WOULD GO OFF AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF. NOW THAT HAVE COME ON AND STAY ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY ITS THE YAW SENSOR AND WILL COST AROUND $650 WITH PARTS AND LABOR. I THINK THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS PART FAILING AND MAYBE SOMETHING THAT NEEDS LOOKING INTO SINCE ITS PART OF THE VEHICLES SAFETY EQUIPMENT. *TR
2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA VSC / ABS SKID CONTROL ECU FAILURE. WENT TO TOYOTA DEALER ON FRIDAY 10/01/2010 FOR A RECALL ON MY TOYOTA TO UPDATE THE VSC ECU. DEALER COMES BACK AND SAYS MY VSC ECU NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $900.00 PRIOR TO UPDATING THE ECU. I DECLINED THE REPAIRS AND THEY HAD ME SIGN A RELEASE STATING TOYOTA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FAILED COMPONENTS DUE TO MY DECISION. I DO NOT HAVE ANY WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE VSC. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. RECENTLY, THE ABS, VSC AND VSC TRAK LIGHTS HAVE COME ON THE DASH AND STAY ON. THESE SYSTEMS ARE SAFETY-RELATED IN THAT THEY CONTROL THE BRAKING AND VEHICLE CONTROL WHEN IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. IN THE EVENT OF SLIPPERY CONDITIONS, THE FAILURE OF THIS SYSTEM WOULD MAKE A BAD SITUATION WORSE, BY NOT ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
VSC TRACK FOR 2003 MADE SOMEWHERE NOT INCLUDED ON VOLUNTARY RECALL WHILE PROBLEM FITS THE SAME DESCRIPTION AS THOSE BEING RECALLED. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE WARNING LIGHTS FOR THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND BSC ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SKIT CONTROL NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. ALSO, THE ECU AND THE TRANSLATE COMPUTER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V176000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILIZER CONTROL SYSTEM FAILED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AND ATTEMPTING A RIGHT TURN. THE REAR TIRES BEGAN TO SPIN AND THE VEHICLE WOUKLD NOT RESPOND OR ACCELERATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE ECU NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR DOOR MOLDING WAS BENDING AND LOOKED AS IF WERE MELTING OR SEPARATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 52,000.
VSC/SVC TRAC LIGHTS ON. HAVE BEEN COMING ON/OFF 1-3 TIMES/MONTH. NOW THEY ARE ON AT ALL TIMES. SEEMS TO BE A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THE 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIAS. *TR
2003 SEQUOIA. VSC/TRAC LIGHTS COME ON JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. PLUS PARKING BRAKE LIGHT. HAVE TO SHUT CAR OFF TO RESET. THE DEALER SAID MY COMPUTER IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL SO I MUST PAY OUT OF POCKET. LOOKED ON-LINE AND FOUND DOZENS OF SITES AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *LN
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2007 WITH 43,000 MILES. SINCE THEN I HAVE DRIVEN 30,000 MILES IN 4 YEARS. WHEN I FIRST PICK THIS CAR IT LOOKED GREAT. THE DAY I PICKED IT UP IT HAD A DENT IN THE BACK, AND THE DVD PLAYER DIDNT WORK AND WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS A WATER LEAK THAT TOYOTA HAD TO REPAIR AND REMOVE AN ODOR ASSOCIATED WITH IT. LATER, I BROUGHT IT IN TO HAVE MY GAS TANK LEVEL INDICATOR REPAIRED BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS TIME CONSUMING AND BASICALLY WAS ADVISED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD TO BE TAKEN OUT SO, I DIDNT GET IT DONE. I REPLACED MY BATTERY, CONSTANTLY HAD MY OIL CHANGED, AS THE PAINT STARTED TO PEEL ON MY LEFT FRONT FENDER. TIE RODS WERE REPLACED THAT HAD BROKEN, WHICH WAS COVERED BY THE PLATINUM COVERAGE THAT I PURCHASED FOR 1000.00. IVE HAD A VSC LOGIC RELAY REPLACED AND TRIM REPAIRED THAT WAS LIFTING OFF. NOW MY COVERAGE ON THE PLATINUM PLAN WAS OVER 4-10-2010 ON THE 17TH OF AUGUST MY REAR WINDOW WOULD NOT GO DOWN, ABOUT THREE DAYS LATER THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. ON THE 19TH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL INITIATED AND WHEN ITS INITIATED TO GO OFF THE CENTER WILL CONTINUE TO BE ENGAGED, BLINKING. EVEN TILL TODAY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED UP YOU HAVE TO DIS-ENGAGE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE. SO I TOOK IT TO TOYOTA . THATS WHEN THIS FINAL HORROR BEGAN. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED (SUNDAY), AND THE NEXT DAY (MONDAY) I TOOK IT BACK FOR SERVICE. AFTER THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TREND HERES WHAT I WAS TOLD: THE REAR WINDOW MOTOR WAS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACING EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW OF THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE REAR WINDOWS. 690.00 MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY.1165.00 CCNTER DIFFERENTIAL.2134.00 SERPENTINE BELT AND TENSIONER.492.00
MY 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERE CORROSION OF THE FRAME, RESULTING IN UNDER-BODY MOUNT SPARE TIRE SEPARATION AND REAR BRAKE FAILURE. THE AFFECTED VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONE YEAR AGO HE WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THERE WAS LIGHT RUSTING OF THE FRAME. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. ONE YEAR LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRAME EXHIBITED SEVERE RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INVESTIGATED FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ESCALATED PICTURES OF THE FRAME TO THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER; THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT ANY REPAIRS WOULD BE THE LIABILITY OF THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAD MY BRAKES LOOKED AT BY DEALER DUE TO PULSATING AND NOT FEELING LIKE THEY SHOULD. THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE VSC, ABS, TRAC LIGHT GOES ON AND STAYS ON. SAFETY RECALL A0G REFLECTS PROBLEMS WITH THE VSC/ECU WHICH ALSO WORKS SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE DECELERATION SENSOR/CIRCUIT. THE DEALER "PEDERSON TOYOTA" HAS TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE DECELERATION SENSOR COSTING $99.50 - DIAGNOSTIC, $445 - PART, AND $99.50 - LABOR. I FEEL THAT TOYOTA HAS HAD SO MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS EXACT ISSUE, THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. DECELERATION IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND MY VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP AS IT SHOULD. ALSO, THE DECELERATIONS SENSOR/CIRCUIT THEY ARE TELLING ME NEEDS TO BE CHANGED IS PART OF THE VSC/ECU THAT IS RECALLED. 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA VSC LIGHTS AND TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON, REPLACED THE COMPUTER FOR APPROX $1500 ON 09/07. NOW 08/10 VSC WARNING LIGHTS AND THE ENGINE LIGHTS ARE COMING ON. THESE WARNING LIGHTS SEEM TO COME ON ABOUT 3-6 TIMES PER MONTH ESPECIALLY WHEN I RIDE OVER A SMALL BUMP OR TURN A CORNER. USUALLY THE LIGHTS DON'T COME ON AGAIN ONCE THE TRUCK IS RESTARTED. THIS TIME THE LIGHTS ARE REMAINING ON FOR 3 DAYS AND I WILL BE ONCE AGAIN TAKING THIS TRUCK IN. *TR

WHILE THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL, VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL TRAC AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGY DURING APPLICATION AFTER THE ILLUMINATION OF THE WARNING LIGHTS FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
I HAVE A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA AND THE VSC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON FOR NO REASON AND THE TRACTION CONTROL DOES NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 61,000 MILES ON IT.. TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY SAID THE ONLY RECALL IS FOR A SOFTWARE COMPUTER UPDATE. THEY UPDATED AND STILL HAVE PROBLEM. TOOK IT BACK IN TODAY AND WAS TOLD ERROR CODE C1203 FOUND NEED NEW TRANSLATE COMPUTER ASSEMBLY. CLEARLY THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ALL OF THE SEQUOIA TRACKING SYSTEMS... TOYOTA NEEDS TO REPLACE THESE PARTS FREE OF CHARGE. WHY SHOULD I BE OUT OF POCKET 1000 FOR REPAIRS FOR SOMETHING THEY KNOW IS A BAD PART! PLEASE HELP! *TR
OUR 2003 SEQUOIA HAS SAME TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM AS ALL OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, RESULTING IN VSC/ABS/TRAC LIGHTS ON WITH NO ADDITIONAL SAFETY BRAKING SYSTEM LIGHT TRACTION CONTROL OR ANTI-LOCK BRAKES OTHER THAN THE STANDARD HYDRAULIC BRAKES. THE SYSTEM FAILED A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO AND WE PLACED A COMPLAINT ON THIS SITE HOPING FOR A RECALL. WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE REPORTED RECALL AND ALL THEY DID IS FIX SOME INTERNAL COMPUTER SETTING. THEY SAID THE RECALL HAD NOTHING DO WITH THE WARNING LIGHTS OR FIXING THE FAULTY "STAR" SAFETY SYSTEM. WE LEFT WITH ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS STILL ON AND THE OFFER FOR THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE THE WARNING LIGHTS AT A COST OF $300. I DON'T BELIEVE THE INTENT OF ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WAS TO FIX AN INTERNAL COMPUTER SETTING BUT RATHER TO BRING LIGHT TO THE WIDESPREAD FAILURE OF A MAJOR SAFETY SYSTEM AT A HUGE COST TO THE CONSUMER. I URGE THE NHTSA TO RE-OPEN THIS CASE, INVESTIGATE THE REAL CAUSES, HOLD TOYOTA ACCOUNTABLE AND NOT ACCEPT A SOFTBALL ANSWER. *TR
REPEATED INCIDENCES OF GAS PEDAL BEING STUCK AND UNABLE TO BE DEPRESSED TO GIVE THE VEHICLE FUEL AND ACCELERATE. ESSENTIALLY VEHICLE RANDOMLY LOCKS UP, TYPICALLY AT LOW SPEEDS AS ON A PARKING LOT OR LEAVING A DRIVEWAY OR PARING GARAGE. THE GAS PEDAL FEELS AS IF THERE IS SOMETHING BLOCKING IT FROM BEING UTILIZED WHILE THERE IS NOTHING PHYSICALLY OBSTRUCTING THE PEDAL. AFTER TAPPING AND THEN FRANTICALLY TRYING TO PUSH THE ACCELERATOR AND BREAK IT FREE IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD NECESSITATING QUICK REACTION AND BREAKING. IT IS SCATTERED BUT RECURS PERIODICALLY WITH NO WARNING. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL FOR THE TRACTION, SKID, STABILITY ISSUES AND AIRBAGS. SCHEDULED FOR RECALL SERVICES MENTIONED BUT DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH PEDAL. ONCE TOLD IT WAS CLEANED AND ADJUSTED BUT IS MOSTLY IGNORED AND I'M TREATED LIKE I'M NUTS. NOT BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY BUT I'M AFRAID THAT SOMEONE MAY BE HURT. IT IS A FRIGHTENING EVENT AS YOU FEEL NOT IN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND VULNERABLE. HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING ONTO BUSY STREET. EVEN GIVING AMPLE TIME FOR NORMAL TRAFFIC, THE INABILITY TO PROVIDE GAS TO THE VEHICLE LEFT US AT THE VEHICLES MERCY AND IN A VULNERABLE SPOT TO BE BRIAR SIDES BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT WAS NOT THE FLOOR MAT. *TR
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR ONLY 10MONTHS....VSC TRAC, VSC OFF HAS OCCURRED A FEW TIMES INCLUDING TWICE IN THE LAST 10 DAYS. IN ADDITION, THE FIRST TIME THE VSC LIGHTS CAME ON THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ALSO ON. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN THE VEHICLES VSC TRAC AND VSC OFF LIGHTS COME ON, THEY CAN BE RESET TEMPORARILY BY TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON. MY FIRST PHONE CALL LAST MAY TO TOYOTA I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS A PART OF THE RECALL. I RECEIVED NOTHING IN THE MAIL, SO I CALL BACK IN JULY AFTER I HAD MY FIRST OCCURRENCE WITH THE VSC PROBLEM. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY FRUSTRATING FOR MANY 2003 OWNERS THAT ARE NOT A PART OF THE RECALL WHO ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THOSE THAT DO QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL. IF MY DASH LIGHTS ARE ON, IS MY VEHICLE SAFE? COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH SAME ISSUES I AM HAVING. I WAS A LIFELONG TOYOTA MAN, BUT NOT ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO RECALL ALL OF THESE 2003 SEQUOIAS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
STARTED UP THE VEHICLE AND THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT, THE VCS OFF LIGHT AND THE VCS TRAC LIGHT ALL CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. WE'VE HAD THE FACTORY RECALL FOR AOG VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, SKID CONTROL ECU UPDATE DONE, AND NOW WE'RE TOLD IT WILL BE $500 TO REPLACE THE YAW-ACCELERATION STABILITY CONTROL . THIS IS A VERY COMMON SAFETY PROBLEM, AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY A RECALL, IT HAPPENS A LOT! *TR
I HAVE A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA. CURRENTLY, THE VSC TRAC, VSC, ABS AND EMERGENCY HANDBRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON. AFTER MANY VISITS TO THE DEALER AND REPAIR SHOPS, THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE RESOLVED. EVERYONE SEEMS TO THINK THIS ISSUE IS NOT RELATED TO A MECHANICAL ISSUE, BUT TO AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR. UNFORTUNATELY, ONLY THE MANUFACTURER/DEALERSHIP CAN REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. BECAUSE THIS IS A TOYOTA-FIX-ONLY, WE CANNOT SIMPLY AFFORD TO GET THIS FIX. WE HAVE BEEN QUOTED ALMOST $700 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A DIFFICULT AMOUNT TO DIGEST, ESPECIALLY WITH A FAMILY WITH MULTIPLE KIDS. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT, ANTI LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED SIMULTANEOUSLY. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN UNUSUAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING REPAIRS OR A DIAGNOSTIC OF THE VEHICLE. 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA, VSC AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES @ 20K MILES AND NOW @ 80K MILES. FIRST TIME @ 20 K MILES, DEALER DIDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM SO THEY SAID I MIGHT FORGET TO TIGHTEN THE GAS CAP...BUT NOW AFTER 5 YEARS, THE VSC AND ABS LIGHT STARTED POPPING UP AGAIN WHEN I WAS DRIVING 60 MILE/HOUR, I HAVE BROUGHT THE CA TO DEALER AND THIS TIME THEY HAVE CHARGED ME ALMOST $ 500 TO GET THESE LIGHTS CAME OFF INCLUDING A SERIES OF UNNECESSARY PARTS REPLACING AND TUNE UP. LESS THAN ONE MONTH, THESE LIGHTS - VSC AND ABS CAME ON AGAIN, BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER, THEY SAID IT FAILED FOR ANOTHER CODE WHICH REQUIRE ANOTHER $ 500 TO GET IT FIXED. I WAS FRUSTRATED SO I TOOK THE CAR BACK HOME, BUT I STILL FEEL UNSAFE WHEN DRIVING IT. I THINK TOYOTA SHOULD CONSIDER THIS ISSUE AND RECALL SINCE SO MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED A SIMILAR ISSUE - VSC AND ABS LIGHT INTERMITTENT ISSUE. *TR
MY 2003 SEQUOIA HAS FAILED NEW YORK STATE INSPECTION DUE TO PERFORATION OF THE FRAME DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUST. TOYOTA REFUSES TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ON A 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. MY SEQUOIA IS EXPERIENCING VERY SIMILAR ISSUES AS NOTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V176000. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE HAS A DELAY AND SEEMS TO ENGAGE THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM PREVENTING ACCELERATION AND THEN IT JUST KICKS IN AND OFF YOU GO. UNFORTUNATELY THIS OFTEN LEAVES YOU IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF YOU HAVEN'T LEFT YOURSELF MORE THAN THE USUAL DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES. ALSO IT IS VERY SPORADIC SO YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. I EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE MORE DURING TURNS FROM START AND PARTICULARLY DURING RAINY OR INCLEMENT WEATHER THOUGH THE TIRES ARE NOT SLIPPING. I CONTACTED MY TOYOTA DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY VIN IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AND THEN TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME PART WITH THE ISSUE. I INFORMED THEM THE ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I HAD THE CAR AND THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING. THEY SAID I COULD BRING IT IN AND HAVE AN ANALYSIS DONE BUT I WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR IT. I TOLD THEM IT WAS HAPPENING EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEIR MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE A YOUNG DRIVER WHO WILL BE USING THIS VEHICLE AND I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT TOYOTA WILL NOT ADMIT OTHER SEQUIOA'S MAY HAVE THIS ISSUE AND DO NOT WANT TO ADDRESS THEM. I HAVE A 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA THAT HAS A FAULTY SKID CONTROL UNIT AND NEEDS THE ECU REPLACED. ALTHOUGH TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A RECALL NOTICE FOR 2003 SEQUOIAS FOR THIS PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED ON THAT LIST SINCE THEY ARE ONLY TARGETING CERTAIN CARS FROM THAT YEAR, NOT ALL CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WILL COST ME CLOSE TO $3,000 TO FIX MY CAR, WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD. I HAVE ONLY 35,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN THAT I DRIVE IN THIS CAR AND HAVE HAD SOME VERY CLOSE CALLS DUE TO THE CAR NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY DUE TO THE FAULTY VSC. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO FOR ME EXCEPT REPLACE THE YAW SENSOR FOR ALMOST $800 DOLLARS. THIS WAS THE SENSOR FOR $685 AND THEN THE LABOR. THE TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND AND REPLACED A LEFT FRONT SWAY BAR STABILIZER LINK WHICH HAD BROKEN. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A SAFETY ITEM AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY TOYOTA. ON APRIL 10TH, 2010 I WAS ON A CROSS COUNTRY TRIP WHEN THE TOYOTA DEVELOPED A VERY STRONG VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THAT COULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO NOT RESPOND SAFELY TO A NEED FOR QUICK MANEUVERING. I HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY TOYOTA UPON MY RETURN HOME AND THE RIGHT SIDE SWAY BAR LINK WAS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED. I RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND MULTIPLE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS IN VEHICLES UNDER WARRANTY AND VEHICLES WITH RELATIVE LOW MILEAGE. THE TIRES ARE EITHER SLIPPING ON SNOW AT THE TIME OR LOOSE GRAVEL LEFTOVER FROM THE SNOW. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAID WE NEED TO REPLACE THE ECU UNITE FOR $1000 BECAUSE IT'S NOT COVERED IN THE MAY 2010 RECALL BASED ON OUR VIN NUMBER. *TR

I USE TO COMMUTE IN HEAVY SLOW TRAFFIC IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WHEN MY BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN USING THE BRAKES IN TRAFFIC. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM.. THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL GO OFF AFTER THE KEY IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN HOWEVER THE VSC/TRACK LIGHT STILL ON APPEAR T BE A COMPUTER DEFECT.
