I TOOK MY 2006 SIENNA IN FOR IT'S REGULAR MAINTENANCE. HE TOLD ME THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK IS DETERIORATED TO THE POINT OF NEEDING A NEW ONE SOON OR I COULD BE IN A CAR ACCIDENT FROM LOSS OF POWER STEERING. UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE IT RIGHT NOW, SO WE ARE LEFT SHORT A CAR. IF THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR TOYOTA SIENNAS, I'M NOT SURE WHY IT HASN'T BEEN TAKEN CARE OF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR BECAME STUCK AND FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FRACTURED CABLE WITHIN THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 192,000.
2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE HAT A FLAT TIRE. *SMD THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE A SPARE TIRE. THE DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE INSPECTED THE SPARE TIRE. HOWEVER, THEY NEVER MENTIONED THE SPARE TIRE WAS MISSING. *JB
MY DASHBOARD HAS MELTED. IT HAS LEFT EXPOSED STYROFOAM ON THE DASH. I HAD TO BUY A VINYL SEALER TO KEEP THE STYROFOAM FROM SPREADING ALL OVER THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. TOYOTA RECENTLY SENT ME A NOTIFICATION OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD, AFTER I QUALIFIED FOR A DASHBOARD VIA MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE DASHBOARDS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING ON THESE FOR OVER A YEAR. IN THE MEAN TIME , I CAN NOT SELL OR TRADE THIS VEHICLE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION AND I DON'T KNOW IF EXPOSURE TO DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD IS AFFECTING MY HEALTH OR NOT.. TOYOTA DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU WILL DO AND REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND DIAGNOSED FOR CODE B0116 FAILURE. THE AIR BAG CONNECTER WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.
ON TURNS, THERE HAS BEEN A "CLUNK" NOISE UNDER RIGHT FRONT DRIVER SIDE. UPON BEING EXAMINED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT TIE ROD IS LOOSE AND THE RACK AND PINION BOOT IS TORN AND LEAKING. ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR WAS $ 1000. UPON RESEARCHING THIS MATTER I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON OCCURRENCE. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALTHOUGH SEVERAL SIENNAS FALL UNDER A SERVICE CAMPAIGN TO FIX THIS ISSUE, MINE DOES NOT. THEY WERE NOT WILLING T O BUDGE ON THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I AM UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY ISSUED A PSB009112 ON THIS ISSUE BUT NOT A FULL RECALL. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY CHANGED DESIGN AFTER 2006 SO OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA, AS I'VE HAD HYUNDAI AND SUBURU STAND BY MANUFACTURER DEFECTS SEVERAL TIMES EVEN WITHOUT A RECALL VIA SAFETY CAMPAIGNS. THIS SEEMS LIKE A DANGEROUS ISSUE FOR TOYOTA NOT TO BE CONCERNED.
THE AIRBAG WARNING LAMP IS A RED IMAGE LOCATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL . NEED TO CHANGE OR RECALL . THANK
HAVE AN 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA WITH 17" FACTORY ORIGINAL ALLOY ALUMINUM WHEELS AND ALL 4 WHEELS HAVE THEIR PROTECTIVE COATINGS BUBBLING UP FROM UNDERNEATH AND PEELING OFF. EVEN THOUGH THE VAN IS NEARLY 9 YEARS OLD NOW, IT ONLY HAS 72000 MILES ON IT. BUT EVEN SO, IT HAS HAD THE BUBBLING UP COATING ISSUE FOR 4 OR 5 YEARS ALREADY ACCORDING TO THE LAST OWNER I BOUGHT IT FROM. LOOKS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA SIENNAS WITH THE 17" ALLOY WHEELS IN THE AREA HERE IN THE UPPER MIDWEST AS MOST I'VE SEEN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. CONCERNED THAT THE NOW EXPOSED METAL WILL CORRODE QUICKLY AND THEN AT SOME POINT DEVELOP INTO A SAFETY CONCERN. THIS VAN IS A HEAVY VEHICLE COMPARED TO REGULAR CARS ON THE ROAD SO I WOULD THINK PROBLEMS WOULD ARISE QUICKLY IF THERE WERE A WEAKNESS TO DEVELOP IN THE CORRODING METALS. I'M CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING AIR LOSS IN ONLY 1 TIRE/WHEEL. A LOCAL TIRE SHOP FINDS NO LEAKS IN THE TIRE OR VALVE STEM AND HAS TRIED DRESSING THE BEADS WITH SEALANT. THEY THINK WHEN THE WEIGHT OF THE VAN IS ON THE TIRE/WHEEL IT'S THEN LEAKING AIR OUT SOMEWHERE. LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER TOLD ME TOYOTA HAS NO INFORMATION ON ADDRESSING MY PARTICULAR PROBLEM LET ALONE RECOGNIZE OR STATE TO CUSTOMERS THAT THERE IS ANY KIND OF KNOWN REPEATING PATTERN OF FAILURE OF THE FINISH ON THE WHEELS ON NEWER VEHICLES MADE IN THE LAST 10 YRS.
THE THIRD-ROW CENTER SEAT BELT WAS PARTIALLY EXTENDED TO SECURE A PASSENGER WHEN IT BECAME LOCKED IN PLACE. IT WOULD NOT RETRACT OR EXTEND. THE ENTIRE SEAT BELT TENSIONER NEEDS REPLACED. THIS DEVICE IS IN THE ROOF AND EXPOSED TO EXTREME HEAT WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, UP HILL OR DOWN AND INTO CORNERS ESPECIALLY THE TRACTION CONTROL OR STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD ENGAGE THE BRAKES AND CUT ENGINE POWER, ALARM BEEPING. HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER A ONE HOUR TRIP. STREERING WOULD PULL TO THE RIGHT. DRIVING CONDITIONS WERE SUCH THAT THE SYSTEM SHOULD NOT HAVE ENGAGED AT ALL. DRY, WARM, NEWER TIRES DRIVING RECOMMENDED SPEEDS FOR THE ROAD. ALL DRIVERS ON THE ROAD WERE AT RISK WITH THE SUDDEN BREAKING AND STEERING PULLING INTO ANOTHER LANE.

AIR BAG LIGHT BLINKING, HAS COME UP SEVERAL TIMES, THE WEB IS FULL OF UNHAPPY PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL ACCORDING TO DEALER.
SLIDING DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE STOP OPERATING SUDDENLY AS I WAS READY TO SLOWLY THROTTLE. THE POWER SLIDING DOOR WON'T OPERATE AND THE DOOR WON'T LOCK WITH MY KIDS IN IT. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND INVESTIGATED THE DOOR AND FOUND THE POWER SLIDING IS NOT CLOSING ON PRESSING THE POWER SWITCH. POWER SLIDING DOORS SHOULD BE DEFECT FREE FOR LIFETIME WARRANTY AND COULD RISK KIDS, ADULTS SITTING IN THE BACK
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON AND FLASHES. IT WILL SHUT OFF AND TURN ON RANDOMLY. THE WIRE HARNESS UNDER THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE OR DAMAGED AS THE SEATS ARE MOVED AND AIRBAGS ARE NOT DETECTED. THE LIGHT STAYS FLASHING AND AIRBAGS ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL. TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT THIS BUT TRIES TO CHARGE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR THEM TO REPLACE THEIR FAULTY WIRES.
MY 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA, DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR STARTED GIVING ME POPPING SOUND ON JUNE 2ND 2015. INITIALLY IT WAS VERY MINOR, IN COUPLE OF DAYS IT INCREASED A LOT. I RECALL RECEIVING "WARRANTY EXTENSION" LETTER IN THE PAST REGARDING SAME FROM TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION. SOME TIME IN YEAR 2013. HOWEVER I WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ISSUE. SO, I JUST FILED LETTER ALONG WITH ME OTHER WARRANTY DOCUMENTS IN VEHICLE GLOW BOX. I TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ALONG WITH "WARRANTY EXTENSION" LETTER. DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR, AS TOYOTA WOULD NOT COVER , AS WARRANTY EXTENSION IS EXPIRED. AS PER TOYOTA AND DEALER , BY THE TIME I RECEIVED LETTER, EXTENSION WAS ALREADY EXPIRED.(2006 YEAR MODEL VEHICLE , EXPIRATION IS AROUND 2011) INFORMED TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION USA. OPENED CASED WITH THEM, HOWEVER THEY WOULD NOT COVER REPAIR. I AM LEFT WITH NO OPTION BUT TO ABSORB THE COST OR LIVE THE NOISE. I THINK TOYOTA SHOULD COVER THE EXPENSE, AS ITS KNOWN FOR FAILING BODY PARTS/ WORKMENSHIP. WELDING MEANT FOR LIFE TIME. THIS IS NOT MECHANICAL , WHICH WEAR OUT DUE TO YEAR OF SERVICE/MILEAGE. I AM STILL NOT GETTING CLEAR EXPLANATION FROM TOYOTA /DEALER FOR LINKING WITH YEARS/MILEAGE FOR SUCH REPAIRS/FAULTY BODY PARTS. TOYOTA SEEMS TO HIDE BEHIND PROCESS BY OFFERING WARRANTY EXTENSION AND LINKING WITH 5 YEAR/ 100000 MILES FROM FIRST DATE IN SERVICE.
I WAS TRAVELING AT 65MPH ON INTERSTATE 90 EAST. THE CAR WHILE DRIVING WHEN I WAS GIVING GAS IT DIDNT RUN FORWARD AND IT JUST STOPPED ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MY KIDS IN IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE RADIATOR PIPE GOT CORRODED SO THE COOLING OIL FROM THE TRANSMISSION DIDNT FLOW PROPERLY AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED DURING THE CAR RUNNING.THE TOYOTA HAS SAFETY RECALL OF EXCESSIVE CORROSION FOR THE SPARE TIRE THEN SAME THING APPLIES AS THE CORROSION PART IS UNDERNEATH OF THE ENGINE.

KAISERSLAUTERN, GERMANY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN THAT AIRBAG MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND IT WOULD COST 1,500 TO 2,000 DOLLARS. SAFETY SHOULD BE NOT EXPIRE WITHIN 3-5 YEAR WARRANTY. SHOULD BE LIFETIME UNTIL OWNER OWNS/HAS THE VEHICLE. SHOULD BE FIXED/REPLACED WITH NO CHARGE. ON A DIFFERENT TOPIC, THE WHEELS/RIMS IS ANOTHER ISSUE. IT BUBBLED/CORRODED AND TOYOTA SAID NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CONSTANTLY LOSING AIR BEFORE I BOUGHT NEW AFTERMARKET WHEELS. SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED/REPLACED BY TOYOTA ALSO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TIRE WAS TAKEN FROM ITS ORIGINAL POSITION AND PLACED IN THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE SRS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE READ MANY ONLINE FORUMS AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I AM HOPING A RECALL WILL BE ISSUED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND ALL THE OTHER FAMILIES OUT THERE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. I AM USUALLY ABLE TO FIX IT BY JIGGLING THE WIRING UNDER THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS.
UPON TRYING TO OPEN THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR - PLASTIC PIECES SHOT OUT AT PEOPLE STANDING NEARBY HITTING THEM IN THE FACE AND UPPER BODY, AND THE END OF A WIRE/CABLE FLUNG OUT NEARLY HITTING SOMEONE IN THE EYE. THE DOOR CONTINUED TO MAKE LOUD CLICKING AND CRUNCHING NOISES AND WOULD NOT OPEN MORE THAT AN INCH OR SO. IT HAD TO BE FORCEFULLY SHUT IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. SIMILAR THINGS HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER TO DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE DEALER SAID THE CAUSE WAS THE AUTOMATIC DOOR MECHANISMS. THE VELOCITY AT WHICH THE PLASTIC PIECES AND CABLE FLUNG OUT COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE SOMEONE. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE SINCE IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS EYE INJURY FROM DEFECTIVE PARTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TRAFFIC SIGNAL POLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT PROPERLY AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO BE THROWN TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY 2006 SIENNA HAS A LOW MILEAGE, 38K. A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, WHEN REPLACING THE FRONT BRAKE PADS, I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING RACK BOOT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IS LEAKING. I GOOGLED IT ONLINE AND FOUND SO MANY 2ND GENERATION SIENNAS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. SO IT MUCH BE A DESIGN FLAW. TOYOTA NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY TOYOTA SIENNA 2006 TODAY MORNING AND THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME ABRUPTLY STOPPED. I WAS MAINTAINING A SAFE DISTANCE AND IMMEDIATELY HIT MY BRAKES. THE VINYL DASHBOARD ON MY VEHICLE IS MELTING IN THE SUN. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND PARK THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE. THE DASHBOARD HAS A STICKY RESIDUE TO THE TOUCH. IT HAS SEVERAL CRACKS AND THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD APPEARS TO BE COVERED IN WAX. WHAT CONCERNS ME MORE IS THE VAPOR ORDOR EMMINATING FROM THE DASH. IT'S MAKING ME AND MY FOUR CHILDREN SICK. AT 87 DEGREES TODAY, I CAN'T DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. AND THE SMELL OF THE MELTED VINYL GOES THROUGH THE AIRCONDITIONING VENTS. NO AMOUNT OF AIR FRESHENER DIFFUSES THE ODOR. I WANT TO KNOW WHY TOYOTA IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET GETTING THE SPARE TIRE BRACKET AND CABLE CORRECTED. I WILL NOT HAVE MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WITHOUT A MEANS TO REPLACE A FLAT TIRE WHEN THEY ARE TRAVELING. THE FIX IS SIMPLE NEW MECHANISM WITH STAINLESS STEEL CABLE AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE. THE OFFER TO REMOVE THE TIRE AND PLACE THAT IN THE TRUNK IS AN INSULT AS IS NOT TO CARRY IT AND CALL TOYOTA IF THEY HAVE A FLAT. AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE SIDE AIR BAGS. MY INTERNET RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA, TOYOTA HAS ISSUED TWO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS BUT THEY REFUSE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH OUT MAKING EXTENSIVE CHARGES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN THROUGH NORMAL USE AND NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
ALL FOUR ALLOY WHEELS ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE THE PAINT BUBBLING AND CHIPPING OFF LEAVING THE WHEEL EXTERIOR EXPOSED TO WEATHER AND FURTHER CORROSION. UNDERNEATH THE CHIPPED PAINT THE ALLOY IS CORRODING, POTENTIALLY COMPROMISING THE STRENGTH AND OVERALL INTEGRATY OF THE WHEELS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED AIR LOSS IN BOTH FRONT TIRES OVER THE COURSE OF JUST A FEW DAYS. MY LOCAL TIRE SHOP CHECKED BOTH FRONT TIRES FOR PUNCTURES BUT FOUND NOTHING. THEY THEN REMOVED THE TIRES FROM THE RIMS AND INDICATED THE RIMS HAD CORRODED AROUND THE OUTER DIAMETER OF THE RIM WHERE THE TIRE BEAD IS SUPPOSED TO SEAL. THEY CLEANED THE CORROSION FROM THE RIM INTERIOR AND APPLIED A BEAD SEALING COMPOUND THAT FILLS IN THE CORRODED AND PITTED BEAD AREA OF THE RIM ALLOWING THE TIRE BEAD TO SEAL AND HOLD AIR. WHEN IT COMES TIME TO ROTATE THE TIRES THE TECH PERSON INDICATED THAT I SHOULD ALSO HAVE THEM SEAL THE TIRES PLACED ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS THEY WOULD PROBABLY START LOOSING AIR AS WELL WITH THE ADDED WEIGHT OF THE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. ON MARCH 13, 2015 DRIVING ON I-95 SOUTH IN A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA VAN THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DISENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED APPROACHING AN EXIT RAMP. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOWDOWN IN SPITE OF PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. MOVING THE CONTROL LEVER FORWARD TO DISENGAGE THE FUNCTION WAS ALSO NOT SUCCESSFUL. THE EXIT RAMP WAS INCLINED SO THE CRUISE CONTROL ACCELERATED THE ENGINE IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAINTAIN OUR SPEED AT 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE WENT THRU A STOP SIGN, BOUNCED OFF THE GUARD RAIL AND CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING. THE IMPACT DESTROYED THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE STOPPING WAS SO ABRUPT THAT THE CELL PHONE (IN MY SHIRT POCKET)FLEW OUT RIPPING THE POCKET OFF THE SHIRT. NEITHER THE FRONT NOR THE SIDE AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED. SKID MARKS MADE BY THE VEHICLE'S RIGHT FRONT TIRE (AND POSSIBLY THE REAR RIGHT TIRE) PRIOR TO AND AFTER HITTING THE GUARD RAIL INDICATE THE BRAKES WERE WORKING ON AT LEAST THIS SIDE. SKID MARKS ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE LEFT HAND TIRES WERE NOT NOTICED. *TR
MY 2006 SIENNA, AIRBAG SRS LIGHT IS BLINKING ALL THE TIME, WHICH MEANS AIRBAG WON'T BE DEPLOYED DURING ACCIDENT. THIS IS VERY CRITICAL. I SAW SO MANY OWNERS OF 2006 SIENNA COMPLAIN ABOUT THE EXACTLY SAME ISSUE. WHY IS THIS NOT RECALLED?
THE SRS WARNING LIGHT ON MY 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA WENT ON. ON CHECKING WITH TOYOTA SERVICE, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ME $624/- TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAD REPORTED THAT THERE WAS A B0111 (OPENING IN SWITCH CORE ERROR) THAT HAPPENED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE TOYOTA SIENNA AND MUST BE PART OF A FACTORY RECALL. AFTER HEARING A CLICKING SOUND WHEN I OPENED MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR, I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN INSPECTION. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE DOOR CHECK MOUNTING PANEL HAD COME OFF THE DOOR. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS ON THIS VEHICLE. IT SEEMS THAT A BAD DESIGN OR POOR WELDING JOB MAY HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEM. I WILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, EITHER BY HAVING THE CHECKER PLATE REPLACED/REWELDED OR BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE DOOR. *TR
MY WIFE STATED THAT WHEN SHE STARTED UP THE VAN, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED FLASHING THE ENTIRE TIME SHE WAS DRIVING. I CHECKED FOR MYSELF AND FOUND THE SAME ISSUE. I REFERENCED THE OWNERS MANUAL WHICH STATED THAT IT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN TO SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. *TR

RECENTLY PURCHASE THIS VAN AND IT HAS SEVERE CORROSION ON THE ALUMINUM WHEELS AND AIR SEEMS TO BE SLOWLY LEAKING FROM AT LEAST ONE OF THEM. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF IT ACCELERATES AS ONE TRAVELS DOWN THE ROAD.
Right side power sliding door will not open at all. It appears that the latch will not release. This started happening a few years ago and it was brought to a mechanic who disabled the power opener, and this appeared to have fixed it, but then the problem started to appear while manually trying to open the door. The same mechanic doesn't recall what he did to disable the power and would be able to open the door and would send us home, where in a couple days after driving it would happen again. It's now in a state where it can't be opened at all. And since this door is required to be open to access the spare tire, it makes it even more of a safety hazard!
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, WARNING STARTED BEEPING, AND BRAKES WERE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED. THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER UNTIL IT HAD SLOWED DOWN, THEN HAD REDUCED POWER. THE BEEPING CONTINUED AND THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR A FEW MINUTES. AFTER THE BEEPING AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT, DRIVABILITY WAS NORMAL. THE CAR BEHIND US NEARLY COLLIDED WITH US WHEN THIS HAPPENED. CONDITIONS: SMOOTH, DRY PAVEMENT. NOTHING THAT SHOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED A HALF DOZEN TIMES OVER THE LAST WEEK OR TWO. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AROUND 40-65 MPH, THE CAR BEGINS TO BEEP, THE VSC LIGHT AND STABILITY CONTROL (SLIP INDICATOR) LIGHTS COME ON, THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMS TO ACT ON ITS OWN FOR A FEW SECONDS. IT CANNOT ALWAYS BE REPLICATED, BUT HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE ON THE SAME CURVE AND ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. THIS IS A VERY FRIGHTENING EVENT, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT HAPPENS AT HIGHER SPEEDS AND ON A CURVE. WHEN I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER, IT HAS NOT SHOWN A CODE, SO THEY CONCLUDE THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. ANOTHER MECHANIC CHECKED AND DID THE ZERO POINT CALIBRATION, WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. A THIRD MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NO ACTUAL READING ON THE STEERING ANGLE, ALTHOUGH THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SEEMS TO BE WORKING. AT THIS POINT, WE HAVE A DANGEROUS CAR, WHICH WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SELL OR TRADE IN WITHOUT TAKING A SERIOUS LOSS.
I WAS SENT A RECALL NOTICE BY TOYOTA, INDICATING THAT THE "SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY MAY CORRODE AND DETACH". I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON DECEMBER 19, 2014, AND THEY REMOVED THE SPARE TIRE AND PLACED IT IN THE VEHICLE IN A PLASTIC BAG. THEY DID NOT FIX IT PROPERLY. THE SPARE TIRE IS NOW OCCUPYING A LOT OF SPACE THAT I NEED FOR CARGO. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THE PROPER REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE. I CALLED TOYOTA THIS MORNING (MAY 21, 2015) AFTER WAITING FIVE MONTHS FOR THE LETTER. THE TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE THAT I SPOKE WITH SAID THAT THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE FOR THE REMEDY "IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS YEAR" BUT SHE COULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME THE MONTH IN WHICH THIS WOULD HAPPEN. I THINK IT IS TOO MUCH TO HAVE TO CARRY MY SPARE TIRE AROUND IN MY CARGO SPACE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FASTER. THIS IS NOT THE VEHICLE'S DRIVE TRAIN. THIS IS A METAL HANGER FOR A SPARE TIRE, IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT.

IN MAY 22, 2014, ANOTHER INTERIM CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V273000 WAS ISSUED. UNTIL TODAY, NOTHING HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED UP TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. TOYOTA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST TOLD ME THAT "UNTIL THEY FOUND A PERMANENT SOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE, JUST PUT THE SPARE TIRE IN THE TRUNK". THIS TYPE OF SHIRKING RESPONSIBILITIES AND ALOOF ATTITUDE. THE SUDDEN DROPPED OF THE TIRE WOULD HAVE POSE A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS TO OTHER VEHICLES IF ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. *TR
