I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA LIMITED FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT STARTED TO COME ON WHEN ALL TIRE PRESSURES ACTUALLY ARE NORMAL. SO FAR I HAD VISITED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. BUT THE PROBLEM STILL WAS NOT SOLVED BECAUSE THEY SEEM DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THEN I WENT TO THE WEBSITE AND FOUND OUT NHTSA HAS OPENED A PRELIMINARY EVALUATION REGARDING 2004 AND 2005 SEIENNA TIRE PRESSURE AND REGLULATING SYSTEM. THAT'S WHY I COME HERE TO COMPLAINT. MY SITUATION IS WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WILL COME ON/OFF EVERY 20-30 MINUTES. ALTHOUGH IT DIDN'T CAUSE ANY INCIDENT YET. BUT AFTER AWHILE, I GUESS MOST PEOPLE MIGHT INTEND TO NEGLECT THIS FALSE ALARM. BUT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE IT FUNCTION CORRECTLY FOR A VEHICLE WITH A RFT TIRE. THEREFORE I THINK THIS DEFECT NEED TO BE RECALLED WITH A BETTER DESIGN. I AM GOING TO KEEP MY VEHICLE THE WAY IT IS AS A LIVE EXAMPLE AND WELCOME ANYONE FROM NHTSA COME TO CHECK ON IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE RPMS INCREASED EXCESSIVELY AND SHE SMELLED GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE ALSO BEGAN TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL WITHOUT ENGAGING THE PEDAL. THE FUEL TANK DOES NOT HOLD THE FUEL CAPACITY THAT WAS LISTED. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE HAS A HABIT OF LUNGING FORWARD ON IT'S OWN WITHIN MINUTES AFTER IT WAS TURNED ON. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14000.
MY BRAND NEW TOYOTA SIENNA HAS PRODUCED HUM NOISE AT AROUND 2500 RPM AS SOON AS I PICKUP THE NEW VAN. I HAVE THE DEALER AND THE REGIONAL REPS LOOKED AT AND THEY FOUND THE NOISE AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT ALL THE TOYOTA WITH THE SAME ENGINE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT FIX IT. I FILED MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS WITH TOYOTA BUT RECEIVED THE SAME RESULT! I LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THANKS! *TR *UPDATED 12/12/07 *BF UPDATED 12/12/07
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, VEHICLE LOST POWER. NO RESPONSE WHEN THROTTLE WAS PRESSED. SHIFTED VEHICLE TO NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE WITH NO RESPONSE. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND NOTICED A HEAVY GASOLINE SMELL. TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE, LOOKED UNDER VEHICLE AND NOTICED GASOLINE POURING OUT FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND REMOVED FAMILY FROM VEHICLE. CALLED TOWING COMPANY, VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MARK HIPPS GARAGE AND TOWING SERVICE IN NEWBERRY, SC. EXAMINATION OF VEHICLE NOTED THAT A FITTING ON THE FUEL LINE GOING TO THE ENGINE HAD COME LOOSE. TECHNICIAN REFITTED AND TIGHTENED CONNECTION. CONTACTED GREENVILLE TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER IN GREENVILLE, SC. THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THIS TYPE OF FAILURE.
WHEN I DRIVE MY CAR OR MAKE TURNS I HEAR A RUBBING SOUND. MY MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT THE WHEEL BEARING HUBS NEED TO BE REPLACED OR THE WHEELS WILL EVENTUALLY FALL OFF. PROBABLY DUE FROM WHERE AND TARE. I DON'T UNDER WHY THIS WOULD BE AN ISSUE AND WHY SO SOON ON THIS CAR. *TR
THE BACK HATCH OF MY 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE MINIVAN CAME DOWN ON ME WITHOUT ANY BEEP OR NOTICE WHEN I WAS REMOVING GROCERIES OUT OF THE BACK. I WENT AND GOT MY HUSBAND WHO INSISTED THAT IT WOULD NOT CLOSE ON ME, THAT THE SAFETY FEATURE WOULD STOP IT FROM CRUSHING ME. I HAD HIM GO OUT AND TRY TO OPEN THE HATCH WITH THE INSIDE BUTTON AND REMOVE THE GROCERIES. I PRESSED THE BUTTON, WHEN THE HATCH OPENED, HE GOT UNDER THE HATCH AND WHEN IT REACHED THE TOP, IT SUDDENLY STARTED TO RETURN BACK DOWN. THIS TIME THE WARNING BEEP DID GO OFF. WHEN THE HATCH REACHED MY HUSBAND, IT DID NOT STOP AND GO BACK UP. HE HAD TO PHYSICALLY HOLD IT UP AS HE GOT OUT OF THE WAY. SINCE THAT DAY, THE HATCH WILL NOT LONGER STAY IN THE UP POSITION EVEN IF YOU TURN OFF THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE. SOMETIMES THE HATCH WILL NOT EVEN REACH THE HALF WAY POINT BEFORE CLOSING BACK DOWN, WHEN IN THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE IS TURNED ON. *TR
PURCHASED 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA 4000 MILES AGO - SEVERAL MONTHS. ONGOING PROBLEM - NO ACCIDENT AT THIS TIME: IN MY OPINION A VERY SERIOUS HESITATION IN ENGINE RESPONSE WHEN I REQUIRE AN IMMEDIATE FAST FORWARD MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS. DEALER SAYS NO SERVICE BULLETIN. (I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR 40 YEARS).
2007 TOYOTA SIENNA MADE A PINGING SOUND WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL WHEN THE ENGINE WAS COLD. DEALER CALLED IT A PISTON SLAP. FINALLY DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A PROBLEM. *KB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE HAVING THE REAR TIRES REPLACED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE REAR AXLE WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT, CAUSING THE REAR TIRES TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY. THE REAR AXLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BUT THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE REAR TIRES HAVE SINCE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES DUE TO EXCESSIVE TREAD WEAR. TL* - THE CONTACT HAS A 2004 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON FEBRUARY 18, 2007 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE FOR TWO HOURS, IN TEMPERATURES OF 20 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE CONTACT OPENED THE LIFTGATE BY REMOTE, AND PROCEEDED TO LOAD A STROLLER AND A FEW BAGS. THE CONTACT WAS UNDER THE LIFTGATE FOR ABOUT 30 UNDER SECONDS, WHEN SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING THE LIFTGATE BEGAN TO CLOSE ON ITS OWN, STRIKING THE CONTACT ON THE HEAD, THE CONTACT THEN BEGAN TO PUSH THE LIFTGATE WITH HIS BACK AGAINST IT UNTIL THE MOTOR RECOGNIZED THERE WAS AN OBSTACLE ON THE WAY OF THE LIFTGATE AND STOPPED CLOSING THE LIFTGATE. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A COMBINATION OF THE STRUT FAILING TO STAY OPEN AND THE MOTOR THAT CLOSES THE LIFTGATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36868 MILES.
MY SIENNA XLE 07 WAS PURCHASED NEW IN JAN OF 07. LESS THAN 1 MONTH I HAD A RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I TOOK THE VAN IN AND THEY REPLACED THE LOCKS. IN 1 WEEK IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD MY VAN IN AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP AND THEY WOULD DO SOMETHING AND SEND ME HOME AND AGAIN THE NOISE WOULD GET WORSE. THEY EVEN BROUGHT IN A REP FROM KANSAS CITY AND HE TOLD ME TO JUST PUT BABY POWDER ON THE DOOR AND IT WOULD BE FIXED. RIGHT.THEN NOISE GETS WORSE IN THE SUMMER AND WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY. I WAS TOLD THAT NO OTHER SIENNA VAN HAD EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. I LOVE MY VAN, BUT THE NOISE IS HORRIBLE AND I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE FROM TOYOTA. WE HAVE OWNED 2 OTHER TOYOTAS AND 1 LEXUS, BUT THIS IS JUST A PROBLEM WITH THE SIENNA. *TR
THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK. *TR
2007 TOYOTA VAN. CONSUMER STATES SHE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HIT HER HEAD ON THE WINDOW. *JB
