2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS CONTINUE TO BURN OUT. DRIVERS SIDE 2 TIMES SINCE DECEMBER 2009. PASSENGER SIDE 4 TIMES SINCE DECEMBER 2009. *TR
THE REAR HATCH WILL CLOSE HARD BY ITSELF ON ME OR ANYONE ELSE WHO IS TRYING TO LOAD THE BACK OF THE SIENNA. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME OVER THE YEARS. TOYOTA FIXED THE PROBLEM AT LEAST TWICE, BUT THE CONDITION CONTINUES TO OCCUR. IF I HAD A SMALL CHILD IN MY ARMS OR MY PET DOG THEY WOULD BE INJURED AS THE HATCH DOOR CLOSES ON ITS OWN. THE DOOR ALARM SOUNDS AND THE HATCH CLOSES WITHIN A FEW SECONDS OF OPENING IT. IT IS DIFFICULT TO OVERRIDE THE AUTOMATIC CLOSING BY KEEPING THE HATCH OPEN BY HAND. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THE HATCH ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 50 DEGREES. *TR
REAR LIFT GATE WAS IN THE OPEN POSITION. WHILE I WAS STANDING UNDERNEATH IT, WITHOUT WARNING IT SUDDENLY FAILED STRIKING ME IN THE HEAD AND PUSHING ME INTO THE REAR BUMPER. FORTUNATELY, OTHER THEN A SORE HEAD FOR A FEW MOMENTS I WAS NOT INJURED. HAD I NOT BEEN STANDING UNDER THE LIFT GATE AT THE TIME IT WOULD HAVE CLOSED ON MY THREE YEAR OLD POSSIBLY CAUSING SEVERE INJURIES OR KILLING HER. SINCE THE INCIDENT THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. IT WILL LIFT INTO THE OPEN POSITION AND REMAIN OPEN FOR A SHORT (UNPREDICTABLE) PERIOD OF TIME THEN SUDDENLY SLAM SHUT. CURRENTLY WE HAVE TO HAVE ONE PERSON HOLD THE LIFT GATE OPEN WHILE LOADING OR UNLOADING THE MINI-VAN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WOULD BECOME FLAT EVERY THREE TO FOUR MONTHS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS CONTAINED A WHITE SUBSTANCE WHICH CAUSED A METAL REACTION WHICH BROKE THE EDGE OF THE TIRE SEALS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TIRE CENTER WHERE THE WHEELS WERE CLEANED AND RE-MOUNTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
BOTH SLIDING SIDE DOORS FAIL TO CLICK TO STAY IN OPEN POSITION. HAPPENS OFTEN EVEN ON FLAT SURFACES. *TR
ON OCTOBER 17TH, 2009, WHILE PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MCDONALD'S, MY VAN SUDDEN ACCELERATED AS I ENTERED THE PARKING SPACE, THE MOTOR WAS ROARING. I WOULD HAVE BEEN TURNING INTO MY SPACE, MY FOOT WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER THE BRAKE AND I MAY HAVE STARTED TO PRESS THE BRAKE. WHEN THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD, THINKING MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS, I IMMEDIATELY MOVED IT FURTHER TO THE LEFT AND PRESSED THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR. I REMEMBER THINKING THIS THING ISN'T SLOWING DOWN ONE BIT NOR WAS IT STOPPING, IT FELT POSSESSED. IT SLAMMED INTO A HEAVY DUTY VAN, ROCKING IT HARD AND DOING CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO OUR VAN. I DID TELL THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE THAT I MUST HAVE HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS, IT WAS THE ONLY THING THAT MADE LOGICAL SENSE TO ME AT THE TIME. IN REPLAYING THE EVENTS IN MY MIND, I WAS SURE MY FOOT WAS OVER THE BRAKE, AND THAT I DIDN'T PRESS ANYTHING HARD UNTIL AFTER THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED, AFTER I MOVED MY FOOT FURTHER TO THE LEFT. I HAVE SINCE AMENDED MY REPORT WITH THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THE FRONT-END DAMAGE ON THE VAN HAS BEEN REPAIRED. ON NOVEMBER 17TH A TECHNICAL SPECIALIST FROM TOYOTA WENT OVER THE VAN. THEY RELEASED THE VAN BACK TO US WITHOUT TELLING US ANYTHING. MY PAST HISTORY WILL SHOW I AM A SAFE DRIVER AND I DO NOT PANIC EASILY. *TR
I WAS PUMPING GAS AND MY CHILD INSIDE THE CAR HIT THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR BUTTON TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOOR. THE DOOR IS SUPPOSED TO STOP AND NOT OPEN WHEN THE GAS COVER IS OPEN. MY SLIDING DOOR FAILED TO DEACTIVATE AND THE SLIDING DOOR CONTINUED TO AUTOMATICALLY OPEN SMASHING THE GAS PUMP INSIDE THE SLIDING DOOR AND THE GAS TANK OPENING. ALL MEAN WHILE FUEL IS PUMPING INTO THE CAR. THIS BENT THE GAS COVER LUCKILY DIDN'T SPARK A FIRE DUE TO FRICTION. HOWEVER NOW I HAVE TO SLAM THE GAS COVER TO GET IT TO SHUT AS SOME TIMES DOORS NOW WILL NOT OPEN AUTOMATICALLY BECAUSE THE GAS COVER IS NOT LATCHED SHUT. ONCE WE BENT THE DOOR AS BEST WE COULD BACK IN PLACE AT LEAST TO ALLOW IT TO LATCH BACK SHUT. THE DOORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY OPEN AND SHUT AS THEY SHOULD. I HAVE HAD THIS OCCUR MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY RISK ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE PUMPING GAS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXHAUST FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA EQUIPPED WITH DUNLOP SP4000 TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS BULGING ALONG THE SIDEWALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE EACH TIRE, EXCEPT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE, WAS REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY SEVEN MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON BOTH REAR TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE BOTH REAR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED A SECOND TIME WITHIN THE NEXT SEVEN MONTHS ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE TIRE REPLACED. AFTER EACH FAILURE, THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH THE EXACT SAME TYPE AS THE PREVIOUS TIRE (DUNLOP SP4000). THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
BACK SLIDING DOORS ON PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE OF MY SIENNA 2007, DO NOT OPEN OR CLOSE CORRECTLY. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE APPROX AUGUST OF 2009. I DRIVE SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR A LIVING AND COULD NOT DO MY JOB TODAY BECAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT, ONCE AGAIN. IF THE DOORS ARE ON AUTOMATIC THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDER WILL NOT CLOSE. WHEN AUTOMATIC IS TAKEN OFF, YOU STILL CAN'T CLOSE IT WITHOUT MY HUSBAND DOING WHATEVER IT IS THAT HE DOES, ONLY FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. THE PASSENGER SIDE IS A PROBLEM ON A DAILY BASIS, WHEN YOU TRY TO OPEN FROM OUTSIDE, YOU CAN'T, IT HAS TO BE DONE BY THE AUTOMATIC BUTTON. NOW MY SAFTEY CONCERN IS THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DOES NOT LATCH AND THE DOOR REMAINS OPEN.
MY 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA ACCELERATE ON TURNS OR WHEN TRYING TO STOP. *CN
MY THREE POINTS SEAT BELT DOES NOT REWIND. THE WHOLE SEAT BELT JUST HANGING OUT. THE DRIVER ACTUALLY CAN WALK AWAY WITHOUT UNSEAT BELT. *TR
I BOUGHT A SECOND HAND 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA LE IN JUNE 2009. THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 49,000 KM. I NOTICED THAT VEHICLE HAD PRODUCED UNUSUAL NOISE WHEN STARTED AT COLD. IT SOUNDED LIKE DIESEL ENGINE. I TOOK A VEHICLE IN TO A TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A TSB ISSUED ON THIS PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH I APPRECIATE THE DEALER'S HONEST EFFORT IN CORRECTING THE PROBLEM, THE NOISE IS STILL THERE WHEN ENGINE IS STARTED AT COLD. *TR
I HAVE A TOYOTA SIENNA AND I HAVE HAD MY FOOT STUCK ON THE ACCELERATOR AT LEAST THREE TIMES CAUSING A SURGE. A PAIR OF DIABETIC SHOES ISSUED BY THE VA WAS THE CAUSE. THEY WERE TENNIS TYPE SHOES WITH A DEEP TREAD. I DISCARDED THE SHOES IN CASE I HAD TO DRIVE WITH THEM ON. I WAS ABLE TO PULL LOOSE EACH TIME AND GET TO THE BRAKE. I WONDER IF THE VA SHOULD BE WARNED. ALSO WONDER IF OTHER TOYOTA PROBLEMS INVOLVE SHOE TYPE. *TR
WHEN DRIVING 2007 SIENNA VAN TIRE WENT FLAT AND TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR (PLASTIC)BROKE OFF RIM, DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT WARRANTY THE SENSOR, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 1 1/2YEARS OLD, ALSO DUNLOP TIRE ARE GARBAGE ALWAYS LOOSING TIRE PRESSURE SINCE WE OWN VEHICLE. *TR
PURCHASE A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA MINIVAN IN DECEMBER 2007 WITH ALMOST 20,000 MILE IN IT. AFTER PURCHASE NOTICE THAT WHEN ENGINE IS COLD IT SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE UNTIL IT WARMS UP. ALSO NOTICE WHAT FEELS LIKE A SLIP IN THE TRANSMISSION IN LOWER GEAR. THIS HAPPENS IF FOLLOWING BEHIND SOMEONE AND THEY TURN U NEED TO SLOW DOWN. WHEN U ACCELERATE TO GET BACK UP TO SPEED THERE IS A DELAY OR A SLIP BEFORE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES, COMPLAINED WITH THE LOCAL DEALER (ANDY MOHR TOYOTA) WHERE PURCHASE FROM. WE HAVE COMPLAINED SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNERSHIP. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A MEMORY TRANSMISSION AND LEARNS YOUR DRIVING HABITS. WELL ME AND MY WIFE DON'T DRIVE THE SAME AND NEITHER DOES ANYONE ELSE. NO PEOPLE DRIVE THE SAME AND WHY WOULD SOMEONE MAKE A VEHICLE LIKE THIS. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THERE IS NO FIX AT THIS TIME. JUST TRYING TO BLOW ME OFF. AS FOR THE ENGINE SLAP WHEN COLD THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE EXHAUST HEATING UP. NOW I AM NO MECHANIC BUT LET ME TELL YOU THAT IS NOT AN EXHAUST CLAPPING UP WHILE HEATING. CALLED TOYOTA USA AND FILE A COMPLAINT AFTER A YEAR BEING PISSED AT WHAT WE SPENT AND HOW UNHAPPY WE WERE. THEY SET UP A THIRD PARTY ARBITRATION AND A PERSON FROM TOYOTA. WE MET AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I VOICED MY CONCERNS. WE EVEN WENT ON A TEST DRIVE SO I COULD SHOW THEM WHAT IT DID. WHAT A JOKE THAT WAS. THE PERSON FROM TOYOTA EXPLAINED TO ME THE VEHICLE WAS DOING EXACTLY WHAT IT SHOULD BE DOING. ( THE DELAY IN THE TRANSMISSION TO ME SEEMS TO BE ANOTHER TOYOTA PROBLEM THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND IM JUST CRAZY.) I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT DID THIS. I GUESS WE WILL NEED FOR SOME PEOPLE TO GET REARENDED AND KILLED BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT IT. NOTHING CAME OUT OF IT AND NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH THIS EXPENSIVE VAN THAT'S A HEAP. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA WHICH WAS MODIFIED FOR DISABLED PERSONS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITHOUT THE FAILURE REOCCURRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE HAD ALWAYS NEEDED HEAVY PRESSURE TO BRAKE PROPERLY. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THE BRAKES WERE REPAIRED BUT THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEM WAS NOT ADDRESSED. THE FAILURE HAS NOT OCCURRED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

ON JANUARY 19, 2009 MY 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA FRONT ROTORS & BRAKE PADS FAILED ROUND- TRIP FROM SAN FRANCISCO TO ORANGE COUNTY. MILEAGE READ: 20,939; & AGAIN ON 01-12-2010 WHEN MILEAGE WAS 30,128. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS, OR NOTIFICATION BY MECHANIC OR SERVICE PROVIDERS AT REGULAR MAINTENANCE CHECKUPS ABOUT WEAR OR COMPROMISED ROTORS & PADS. IN ADVANCE OF EACH INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE HAD BEEN REGULARLY SCHEDULED. ON JANUARY 19, 2009 , BRAKE ROTORS FAILED SHOWING DEEPLY SCRATCHES AND WERE FUSED WITH THE PADS. ON JANUARY 12, 2010 ROTORS REQUIRED RESURFACING BUT PADS WERE OK. I CONTACTED POWER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN IRVINE,CA. ABOUT THESE CONCERNS; THEIR RESPONSE INDICATED A DESIGN FLAW AS THE PADS ARE OF MADE PF HARDER MATERIAL THAN ROTORS THUS WEARING ROTORS BEFORE PADS AND FUSING THE TWO METALS TOGETHER. I HAD SEVERAL RETURN CALLS FROM THEIR SPECIALIST ,A MECHANICAL ENGINEER FORMERLY WITH GM. NO SOLUTIONS WERE OFFERED AND NO FOLLOWUP RECEIVED AFTER I INQUIRED IF THE DEALER WOULD REPLACE THE MANUFACTURER'S PADS WITH SOFTER ONES(AFTERMARKET) AS A TEST. IT WAS MADE CLEAR EVEN IF AFTER-MARKET PADS WERE INSTALLED, THEY MIGHT NOT LAST MORE THAN 5-6 THOUSAND MILES. I HAVE CONCERNS THAT THE BRAKES WILL FAIL AGAIN AND CAUSE POTENTIAL INJURY AND DAMAGE TO ME OR PASSENGERS OR TO OTHERS; CERTAINLY DAMAGE ALSO MEANS REPLACEMENT OF THE ROTORS EVEN IF THE PADS DO NOT SHOW WEAR. I AM REPORTING THIS AS A FLAW IN MECHANICAL/PRODUCT DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF THE 2007 SIENNA; INTENTIONAL OVERSIGHT OR NOT,IT IS A LACK OF MITIGATION FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM THAT POSES A POTENTIALLY HAZARD. I BELIEVE THE SIENNA VAN, INTENDED FOR FAMILY AND LIGHT LOADS, POSES A BRAKE RISK WHILE DRIVING AND ADDITIONAL EXPENSE AND WORRY ABOUT ROTOR/BRAKE FAILURE . IT IS CONTRARY TO THE EXPERIENCE I HAD WITH MY EARLIER 300K TOYOTA VAN (1985); MY SATISFACTION WITH IT LED ME TO PURCHASE THE 2007 SIENNA WHICH I NOW REGRET. I AM ASKING TOYOTA TO REPLACE THE BRAKE SYSTEM OR PROVIDE A NEW MODEL VAN. *TR
OCCASIONALLY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR WILL CLOSE BEFORE IT SHOULD. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 20 TIMES IN THE LAST NINE MONTHS (FOUR TIMES ON 12/28/08). IT HAS CLOSED ON MY SON, MY MOTHER, MY GRANDDAUGHTER, MY WIFE, AND ME. THERE IS NO PATTERN FOR WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN, SO WHEN WE TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEREFORE, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR LATCH FAILED TO STAY SECURE WHILE THE WINDOWS WERE OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. UPDATED 9/23/13*CN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE WALL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INJURED HER KNEES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER, BUT IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED WHY THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO DEFECTS WITH THE VEHICLE; THEREFORE, NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE MADE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS SITTING IDLE AT A CAR WASH AND WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TRUCK, HIT A GUARDRAIL AND PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO A CEMENT WALL. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND TO THE CONTACTS ATTEMPTS TO BRAKE AND STOP THE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES.THE CONTACT STATED THERE WERE SEVERAL SKID MARKS ON THE CEMENT FROM HER ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE. HER INSURANCE COMPANY WAS IN THE PROCESS OF INVESTIGATING THE CRASH. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45000. UPDATED 05/18/10. *LJ
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA AND THE DRIVER-SIDE SLIDING DOOR JUST FAILS TO OPEN. AFTER CHECKING THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE REPAIRS WILL COST AROUND 1,200 DOLLARS. *TR
2007 SIENNA, HESITATES AFTER RE-ACCELERATING BETWEEN 5 TO 10 MPH. ACCELERATION PRESSED BUT CAR DOES NOT MOVE FOR 1 OR 2 SECOND. WE BOUGHT A VAN ON 9/05/08 ON 9/13/08 LOW PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON CHECKED MY TIRE THERE WAS A BULGE ON THE EDGE OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE THAT PULLED IT AWAY FROM THE RIM DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A ROAD HAZARD, AND WOULD NOT REPLACE IT. REAR BRAKES WORE OUT AT 21K MILES EVEN THOUGH FRONT BRAKES WERE FINE. DEALER BLAMED IT ON CORROSION EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY 15MOS OLD AND SPENT ALL WINTER IN FLORIDA. THE FRONT BRAKES SHOW NO SIGN OF WEAR OR CORROSION!. DEALER CHARGED FOR PADS AND ROTORS WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. EVENTUALLY REPLACED CALIPERS WHICH DID FIX THE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT THE WEARING OUT OF ONLY THE REAR BRAKE PADS IS VERY UNUSUAL AND WAS DUE TO ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER CALIPERS. THE END RESULT (BRAKE FAILURE) WAS UNANTICIPATED AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN HANDLING PROBLEMS AND AN ACCIDENT. *TR
RECENT WHEN STOPPED AT AN INDOOR GARAGE TO PARK THE CAR IN THE MORNING ONE OF THE REAR SIDE WINDOWS JUST SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. WE DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING AND THERE WAS NO OBJECT THROWING AT THE CAR. THERE WARE 2 OTHER PERSONS IN THE GARAGE WITNESS WHAT HAPPENED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND STARTED I GET A NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LIFTER PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH THE WEATHER WILL EFFECT THE INTENSITY AND DURATION OF THIS NOISE IT IS ALWAYS THERE. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO HAD A FACTORY ENGINEER COME OUT AND HE HEARD THE NOISE AND SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO "PISTON-SLAP". AT THIS TIME THEY ARE TELLING ME THERE IS NO REPAIR FOR THIS CONDITION. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A NOISE BUT THEY SAY THEY CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THIS NOISE DEVELOPED APPROXIMATELY AROUND 20,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. OTHER SIENNA'S THAT ACQUAINTANCES OWN DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WE PUT AIR IN THE TIRES AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE CAR INTO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. TOYOTA OF BELLEVUE CHECKED THE TIRES WED DEC 5, 2007. THEY CHECKED ALL FOUR TIRES AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. ON WED NIGHT MAY 28, 2008, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS AT OR BELOW 15 PSI, THE OTHER THREE TIRES WERE AT OR JUST UNDER 20 PSI. I FILLED ALL FOUR TIRES AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT (WHEN I FILLED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE, I STARTED THE CAR TO SEE IF THE WARNING INDICATOR WOULD GO OUT; IT DID NOT GO OUT, UNTIL I FILLED ALL FOUR TIRES BACK UP TO NORMAL PRESSURE. ON MAY 31, 2008 WE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO TOYOTA OF BELLEVUE AND THEY TOOK ALL FOUR TIRES OFF AND INSPECTED, BUT FOUND NO PROBLEMS. THEY DID NOT REMOVE THE TIRES FROM THE RIMS, NOR DID THEY SUBMERGE THE TIRES IN WATER, NOR DID THEY REPLACE THE VALVE STEMS. THEY DID NOT FIND ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS THAT MAY HAVE PIERCED THE TIRES. CALLED DUNLOP TIRES ON 6/3/08 CASE#976284. ON 6/4/08 WE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO ELLIOTT TIRE & SERVICE. THEY REMOVED ALL OF THE TIRES AND CHECKED THEM. STATED IT COULD BE A FAULTY PRESSURE SENSOR. ON 8/31/08 ON WAY TO EVERETT, THE TIRE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. CAR SAT OUTSIDE AT NIGHT AND LIGHT IS STILL ON 9/1/08. AGAIN THE SAME THING HAPPENED IN JAN 2009. WE REQUESTED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TIRE SENSOR SYSTEM REPEATEDLY. THEY REFUSED EVERY TIME. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. AFTER INSTALLING THESE NEW EQUIPMENT HE FOUND THAT ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD ARE TURNED ON WITH THIS VEHICLE. 7. HE SCHEDULED INSPECTION TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BY TOYOTA TECHNICIANS.
