NOTHING HAPPENED YET, BUT THE TOYOTA NOTICE SAYS NOT TO LET ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE AS I TRANSPORT PEOPLE IN MY VAN. BUT, I AM SCARED THAT SOMETHING MAY HAPPEN. THEY ARE TAKING TOO LONG TO GET THIS LOOKED AT. THEY SAY THAT NOTHING MAY BE WRONG.
TAKATA RECALL - WE HAVE CHILDREN RIDING IN OUR VEHICLE AND NEED THE RECALLS TO BE FIXED PROMPTLY. WE HAD NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA AS TO WHEN THE RECALLS WILL BE FIXED. WITH THE AIRBAG ISSUE, NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, WHICH MAKES IT VERY INCONVENIENT FOR OUR BIG FAMILY. SLIDING DOOR RECALL - THE SLIDING DOOR ISSUE ALSO IS A MAJOR DANGER BECAUSE OUR KIDS SIT IN THE BACK. WE ARE FEARFUL THE DOOR COULD OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE DELAY IN FIXING THESE RECALLS IS CAUSING A LOT OF ANXIETY, STRESS, AND DANGER. WE TRIED TO CALL TOYOTA BUT WERE TRANSFERRED TO DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS FOR OVER 20 MINUTES BEFORE GETTING CUT OFF COMPLETELY. WE WANT ANSWERS AND WE WANT THEM NOW.TOYOTA NEEDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY. WE ARE FEARFUL FOR OUR LIVES IN OUR SIENNA.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REPAIR REMEDY AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED EXTENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT TURNS OFF INTERMITTENTLY. IT WILL TURN ON AGAIN IF YOU TURN THE HEADLIGHTS OFF AND BACK ON, BUT THEN WILL GO OUT AGAIN. I HAVE READ ONLINE ABOUT MANY OTHER TOYOTA OWNERS, SPECIFICALLY THOSE WITH PRIUSES, BUT ALSO SOME SIENNAS, HAVING THIS PROBLEM. DEALERS DON'T KNOW HOW TO RESOLVE IT - MINE WANTS TO REPLACE THE BULB FOR CLOSE TO $500, BUT CAN'T GUARANTEE THIS WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND THE BULB IS APPARENTLY WORKING, JUST NOT ALL THE TIME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO HAVE A NON-WORKING HEADLIGHT. *TR

POPPING SOUND WHEN OPENING MOTORIZED PASSENGER DOOR. FORTUNATELY, DOOR WAS STOPPED INITIALLY WHEN DOOR FAILURE OCCURRED BUT DOOR FLEW OPEN AFTER I SHUT IT AND DROVE THE VEHICLE. I THEN STOPPED TO SHUT DOOR AND DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE AT ALL.

ON AUGUST 27, 2016 I WAS DRIVING OUR 2012 TOYOTA SIENNA ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. TRAFFIC WAS TERRIBLE AND I REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC. THE IMPACT WAS MINOR, BUT THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNT THE CAR TO THE FRAME. MY WIFE AND I WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE CAR BEFORE IT BURNED. WHEN I EXITED THE CAR, I TOOK MY KEYS WITH ME. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN ANY OF THE DOORS AND EVERYTHING I HAD IN THE BACK OF THE VAN BURNED. THANKFULLY, OUR CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE CAR. IF THEY HAD BEEN, I WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO BREAK WINDOWS TO ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THEM FROM THE CAR.
TOYOTA SIENNA 2012 ROLLBACK IN PARK: STATIONARY VEHICLE AT HOME ROLLED BACK WHEN IN 'PARK' AND DRIVER JUMPED IN AND APPLIED BRAKE BUT BRAKE DID NOT WORK. VEHCLE HIT TWO MAILBOXES. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT APPLIED WHILE STATIONARY.

THE RECALL WAS ISSUED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO AND IT HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! WHY HASN'T THE MANUFACTURER BEEN FORCED TO COME UP WITH A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM AND NOT A WORK AROUND AS THEY SUGGESTED IN THE RECALL NOTICE? FINE THEM HEAVILY FOR NOT HAVING A TIMELY FIX AVAILABLE.
THE SENSOR IN THE POWER SLIDING DOOR OF MY 2012 TOYOTA SIENNA, WOULD NOT STOP BEEPING EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. THE LATCH WAS RUSTING AWAY, AND TOYOTA WANTED $1,400 TO REPLACE IT. THE DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH IS MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL, SO WHY IS THE SLIDING DOOR LATCH RUSTING? AND WHY CAN'T WE DISABLE THE SENSOR?
45MPH FRONT END IMPACT DID NOT DEPLOY AID BAG. DRIVER SUSTAINED FACIAL INJURIES FROM HER FACE IMPACTING THE STEERING WHEEL.
RE: TSB # T-SB-0045-14 REV2 SEPTEMBER 19, 2017 FRONT BRAKE VIBRATION WE HAVE BEEN HAVING A FRONT BRAKE VIBRATION PROBLEM SINCE JUNE OF 2016. WE HAVE SPENT MONEY ON NEW BRAKES, ROTORS, CALIPERS, AND TIRES, ALL TO TRY TO STOP THE PROBLEM. JUST A COUPLE WEEKS AGO THE TSP REFERENCED ABOVE WAS BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION. WE HAVE BEEN TO OUR LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER AND HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH TOYOTA AND ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESPONSE. THEY SAY IT IT NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT HOW CAN OVERHEATING BRAKES NOT BE A SAFETY ISSUE? WE WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM. WE ARE FACING PAYING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAT THEY SHOULD BE RESOLVING.
OUR 2012 SEINNA HAS BOTH SLIDING DOORS CLOSED ONLY BY RACHET TIES DUE TO THE ISSUES WITH THE DOORS OPENING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SO LONG THAT WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO KEEP THE DOORS LATCHED OR LOCKED. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND WARNING BELLS FREQUENTLY SOUND AS WE ROUND CORNERS OR IF THERE IS A STRONG WIND. OUR CAR ALARM ALSO IS SENSITIVE TO WIND AND SOUNDS FREQUENTLY DUE TO DOORS UNABLE TO LATCH AND LOCK. WE FEAR THIS POSES A GREAT SAFETY ISSUE FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN. CERTAINLY THE TIES ARE NOT SAFETY FEATURES KEEPING DOORS CLOSED DURING AN ACCIDENT. ANYONE ENTERING THE VAN MUST DO SO VIA THE FRONT PASSENGER/DRIVER DOORS OR THE REAR HATCH DOOR. NOW, THE SUNROOF IS STICKING OPEN. ALL PROBLEMS BEGAN WITH THE POWER DOORS. WE HAVE HAD IT IN FOR REPAIR BEFORE THE RECALL, AS WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH OUR DOORS SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. MANY MORE TIMES THAN THEY WERE SEEN FOR REPAIR. THIS NEEDS ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY SO WE CAN SAFELY DRIVE OUR $30,000 VEHICLE THAT WE PURCHASED AND PAID FOR. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL TIMES. THE DATE GIVEN "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" IS THE DATE WE COULD NO LONGER CLOSE THE SECOND DOOR. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO MECHANICS WHO DID NOT KNOW HOW TO REPLACE THE MOTORS. WE THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TOYOTA IN CRITTENDEN KY. THEY GAVE US A COSTLY QUOTE TO REPLACE THE MOTORS. DUE TO OUR VACATION, THEY GOT BOTH DOORS TO LATCH...WE DID NOT MAKE IT 5 MILES TO OUR HOME BEFORE BOTH DOORS WERE OPENING ON THE ROAD. SHORTLY AFTER, THE DOORS WERE RECALLED AND WE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE REPAIRS FOR OUR VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE.

MY SON WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET IN THE CAR AND MY HUSBAND, WHO WAS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND WHO THOUGHT HE WAS ALREADY IN THE CAR, CLOSED THE SLIDING VAN DOOR BY PRESSING THE OVERHEAD REMOTE BUTTON. MY SON WAS TRAPPED, ARMS PINNED UP. THE DOOR DID NOT BOUNCE BACK. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, BUT IT IS THE FIRST TIME THAT IT WAS A CHILD (VS. SOMEONE LIKE ME, WHO IS STRONG ENOUGH TO STOP THE FORCE). I HAD TO RUN OUT AND FORCE THE DOOR BACK. THE LATCH WAS PIERCING HIS OTHER SIDE AND HE AND HIS TWIN SISTER (WHO WATCHED THE WHOLE THING, HELPLESSLY) WERE VERY FRIGHTENED. HE IS PROBABLY JUST BRUISED, BUT WHAT IF I HADN'T BEEN STANDING RIGHT THERE?! THE CAR WAS NOT ON, AND WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE.

AS I HAVE DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY, ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, MY REAR SLIDING DOORS HAVE SPONTANEOUSLY OPENED ON THEIR OWN. AFTER IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME, WE TURNED OFF THE AUTOMATIC DOOR FEATURE AND IT STILL HAPPENED ANOTHER TWO TIMES. WHEN WE TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WE WERE INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A "KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2007-2011 TOYOTA SIENNA'S BUT THAT TOYOTA HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED AN ISSUE YET WITH 2012 SIENNA'S". WE WERE ALSO TOLD IT WOULD COST OVER $5000 FOR A PARTIAL FIX. WHEN I CALLED TOYOTA CORPORATION THEIR RESPONSE WAS "WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO ABOUT IT?

THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
IT RAINED AND FROZE, SNOWED AND THAWED, AND THE LATCH ON THE SLIDING DOOR OF MY 2012 TOYOTA SIENNA BROKE. THE DOOR WOULD SLIDE OPEN AND CLOSED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT AND WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. FORTUNATELY NONE OF MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

I DID BACK UP INTO A TREE, AND HAD DAMAGE TO THE BACK QUARTER PANEL AND IT WAS REPAIRED BY A BODY SHOP. TOYOTA IS STATING THAT THIS CAUSED THE LIFTGATE TO BE MISALIGNED AND THAT IS CAUSING THE WATER TO COME THROUGH THE LIFTGATE. MY COMPLAINT IS I BELIEVE THAT DEALERSHIP IS AVOIDING REALIGNING THE LIFT GATE. I ORIGINALLY BROUGHT THIS IN UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY AND I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THERE WAS NO VEHICLE DAMAGE TO THE VAN UPON INITIAL VISIT. AT THIS POINT, IF THE LIFTGATE IS NOT REALIGNED AND FIXED PROPERLY AND WATER CONTINUES TO COME IN, IT WILL EVENTUALLY DESTROY THE MECHANISM THAT IS USED FOR THE AUTO OPEN AND CLOSE. IN ADDITION, I AM ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, IF WHAT TOYOTA STATES IS TRUE (THE LIFTGATE CAN BE MISALIGNED BY QUARTER PANEL DAMAGE).

MY COMPLAINT IS I BELIEVE THAT IF THE LIFTGATE COULD BE MISALIGNED BY QUARTER PANEL DAMAGE, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN UNDER EXTREME STRESS OF A CAR ACCIDENT. I DO BELIEVE THE DEALERSHIP IS AVOIDING REALIGNING THE LIFT GATE, BUT I AM ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, THE ORIGINAL TIRES THAT CAME ON THE VEHICLE WORE VERY EARLY. I REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES AT TOYOTA BECAUSE WE WERE TAKING THE VEHICLE ON A FAMILY TRIP. I WAS LOOKING THROUGH THE OWNERS MANUAL AND NOTICED THAT THE ORIGINAL TIRES WERE TO HAVE A 6 YEAR WARRANTY.
ALL UNDERWOOD COMPONENTS ARE NOT ONLY VULNERABLE, BUT ATTRACTIVE TO RODENTS. WHILE PARKED OVERNIGHT ON 4 CONSECUTIVE NIGHTS, RODENTS HAVE CHEWED THROUGH WIRES DESPITE ATTRACTIVE RODENT POISON IN THE ENGINE BAY, THE POISON IS UNTOUCHED AND THE WIRES ARE ATTACKED EVERY NIGHT. TO DATE INJECTOR WIRES, SENSOR SIRES, FUEL PUMP WIRES HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED, INCLUDING SENSORS FOR THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, WHICH IS DISABLED. I REPAIRED DAMAGE BY RUNNING NEW WIRES, CLEARING NESTS AND SET TRAPS AND POISON, BUT NOW THE THE FUEL SYSTEM HAS BEEN ATTACKED AND THE FUEL PUMP DOES NOT ACTIVATE. 3 OTHER CARS PARKED IN THE SAME LOCATION FOR THE PAST 5 MONTHS ARE UNTOUCHED. SAFETY SYSTEMS ARE LIKELY TO BE COMPROMISED FOR ANY PERSON WHO MUST PARK THESE OUTDOORS.
THERE IS A RATTLING THAT COMES FROM THE 2ND ROW SEATS. IT IS LOUD AND DRIVING ME CRAZY. I SEE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON TOYOTA FORUMS BUT TOYOTA WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE, SOUNDS LIKE I AM DRIVING A CLUNKER INSTEAD OF A $35,000 CAR. I PURCHASED NEW AND THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVEAL YEARS
I OWN A 2012 SIENNA WITH APPROXIMATELY 34,000 MILES. THE WHEELS ARE ALUMINUM, AND THE TIRES HAVE ALL RECEIVED ROUTINE ROTATIONS AT THE DEALERSHIP, AND TIRE REPAIRS AT THE LOCAL TIRE DEALER, ALL OF WHICH INVOLVED THE USE OF AIR DRIVEN IMPACT WRENCHES. IMPACT WRENCHES HAVE DAMAGED THE TWO PIECE CHROME PLATED PROTECTIVE COVERING ON MOST OF THE LUG NUTS ON MY WHEELS TO THE POINT THAT THEY LITERALLY CANNOT BE REMOVED OR REINSTALLED USING THE FACTORY SUPPLIED LUG WRENCH. THE WRENCH NO LONGER FITS THE DAMAGED LUG NUTS. TWICE RECENTLY I HAVE HAD FLATS, REQUIRING THE USE OF THE FACTORY SUPPLIED LUG WRENCH TO REMOVE THE FLAT AND INSTALL THE SPARE. THIS TASK WAS IMPOSSIBLE BOTH TIMES BECAUSE OF EXISTING DISFIGUREMENT TO ONE OR MORE OF THE LUG NUTS ON THE WHEELS INVOLVED. I HAD TO GET HELP FROM TIRE SHOPS BOTH TIMES TO CHANGE MY TIRES. FORTUNATELY BOTH TIMES HELP WAS AVAILABLE, BUT WITHOUT SUCH HELP, A SIMPLE FLAT TIRE CAN STRAND MOTORISTS, SUBJECTING THEM TO EXTREME SAFETY HAZARDS WITH TERRIBLE POTENTIAL SAFETY CONSEQUENCES. ONCE REMOVED, LUG NUTS CANNOT BE RELIABLY RETIGHTENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR SUDDENLY OPENED. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHUT THE DOOR, THE DOOR COULD NOT BE SECURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY DOOR MOTOR AND FAULTY DOOR LATCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,820.
THE VEHICLE IS MAKING CLICKING NOISE WHEN WHEELS ARE TURNED AND THE VEHICLE IS IN LOW SPEEDS FORWARD AND IN REVERSE. IT APPEARS THAT THE CLICKING NOISE COMES FROM THE STEERING SYSTEM AND/OR WHEELS. THE CLICKING SOUND IS BECOMING LOUDER AND LOUDER. ALSO, IT APPEARS THAT THE WHEELS "JERK" SLIGHTLY WHEN TURNED LEFT/RIGHT AND IN MOTION.
2012 SIENNA LIMITED ELECTRICAL ISSUES I HAVE A 2012 TOYOTA SIENNA LIMITED WITH EVERY OPTION EXCEPT AWD. ON FEBRUARY 4, 2015, AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES, WHEN I STOPPED AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, THE VAN COMPLETELY DIED! I WANTED TO START AGAIN, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER AT ALL; NOTHING WOULD FUNCTION, DOOR LOCKS, RADIO, LIGHTS, NOTHING! I HAD TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO START; HOWEVER THE NAVIGATION DVD WAS RESET. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENS THIS WEEK. BEFORE THESE EVENTS; ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENED, THAT TIME THE VAN WAS IN THE GARAGE, WE WERE READY TO GO TO CHURCH AND WHEN I PRESS THE START BUTTON IT TRIED TO START BUT THEN IT COMPLETELY DIED, THERE WAS NO POWER AT ALL. I AM REALLY CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND WE WILL BE IN A VERY SERIOUS CONDITION NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I ALREADY CALLED THE DEALER, BUT THERE WAS NO HELP.
