SEAT BELT BUCKLE WILL NOT LATCH ON DRIVERS SIDE FRONT SEAT
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO COAST TO YIELD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, BUT THEN SEE MY WAY CLEAR TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS TO ENTER THE TRAFFIC FLOW, MY VEHICLE STALLS AND WON'T ACCELERATE. WHERE NORMAL ACCELERATION AND "PICK UP" WOULD ENABLE ME TO ENTER TRAFFIC SAFELY, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHEN I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS OR ENTRY RAMPS, SLOWING, THEN ATTEMPTING TO JOIN TRAFFIC WHEN I SEEMED TO HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM TO ACCELERATE, EXCEPT MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED..ENGINE DIDN'T QUIT RUNNING, JUST COULDN'T "GET GAS" TO GO. HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER TWICE AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG; IT WAS A COMPUTER "MATTER" TRYING TO ADJUST TO MY DRIVING HABITS. THIS DID NOT SEEM TO BE A TRANSMISSION LINKAGE, THERE WAS NO JERKING. VEHICLE JUST WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS.
THE VISCOUS COUPLING ON THE REAR AXLE OF MY AWD SIENNA STARTED MAKING NOISE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. APPARENTLY THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THE RAV4 FOR THE SAME PART, BUT NOT THE SIENNA. MY AUTO SHOP HAS TOLD ME THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. THE BEARINGS IN THE COUPLING FAIL AND START TO MAKE A VERY LOUD WHINE. TOYOTA SAYS THE BEARINGS CANNOT BE REPLACED AND MUST BE SERVICED AS A UNIT... TO THE TUNE OF $2300 PARTS AND LABOR.
OUR VAN HAS 93,800 MILES ON IT AND IS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WHEN WE TURN LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE MOVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS. WE TOOK THE VAN IN AND WERE TOLD THAT THE STRUTS NEED REPLACED AND IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS LOW MILES FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD BE STILL UNDER WARRANTY IF IT WAS NOT OLDER THAN 5 YEARS. THIS SHOULD NOT NEED A REPAIR LIKE THIS ALREADY. MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS ON HIS FORUM AT ABOUT THE SAME MILEAGE. TOYOTA PRIDES ITSELF ON MAKING VEHICLES TO LAST BUT HAVE MADE SEVERAL MISTAKES ON THIS MODEL. COST TO FIX IT IS $750. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO ALONG WITH THE REASON OUR VAN HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH TIRES ABOUT EVERY 25,000 MILES.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL MAKING A GROWLING NOISE. WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA THAT THE VISCOUS COUPLER BEARING IS BAD. COST TO REPLACE COUPLER IS FROM $1900.00 TO $3000.00 DOLLARS. CAR ONLY HAD 115000 MILE ON IT WHEN IT STARTED TO MAKE NOISE. BOUGHT A USED REAR END WITH 69000 MILES ON IT AND AGAIN IT TO IS STARTING TO MAKE THE SAME NOISE AT JUST OVER 100000. WHAT IS UP WITH YOUR REAR ENDS. I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER ONE. IS THERE A RECALL?THAT REAR END IS ONLY 1YR. OLD. OUT OFF WARRANTY
BECAUSE I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD; I AM ASSUMING THAT BUILT UP ON THE WINDOW ROLLERS, HAVE DAMAGED MY WINDOWS. MY WINDOWS ARE SCRATCHED, TO THE POINT WHERE IT AFFECTS VISIBILITY. I THOUGHT THE SCRATCHES WERE ON THE WINDOW TINT (INTERIOR); BUT IT TURNS OUT, IT IS ON THE EXTERIOR (THE GLASS). I WENT TO A WINDOW REPAIR SHOP, HOPING THEY COULD RESURFACE THE GLASS. THEY SAID THERE IS NO REPAIR AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THEM. REPLACING 3 TO FOUR WINDOWS WOULD COST OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS (TINT EXTRA). I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE APART FROM THE HIDEOUS LOOK, MY FAMILIES SAFETY IS AT RISK. I CHOSE NOT TO REPLACE THE WINDOWS, BECAUSE THE ROLLERS WILL JUST BEGIN THE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN. IF YOU LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, I RECOMMEND YOU EITHER WASH YOUR CAR, VERY REGULARLY OR DON'T ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOWS AT ALL. THE LATTER IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR US TO DO. I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, AND IT GETS VERY HOT; INSIDE A PARKED VEHICLE. WHEN I PUT MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR; I ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS IMMEDIATELY, AND START THE A.C; TO BRING THE TEMPERATURE DOWN. I HOPE TOYOTA BECOMES AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND INSTALLS BETTER ROLLERS, OR OFFERS REPAIRS. THANK YOU.
I was gonna make a U-turn at the end of the road and then the steering made a cracking noise. The steering shaft has been replaced 3 TIMES and it still happens. So much for Toyota Reliability.....................
TIRES TREAD LIFE RUNS REALLY FAST, USUALLY BETWEEN 20 - 30,000 MILES WHICH IS NOT NORMAL. THIS WAS HAPPENING NOT JUST TO ME, BUT ALSO MOST OF THE SIENNA OWNER THAT HAD COMPLAINED ONLINE.
WHEN AT LOW SPEEDS, TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT...THERE IS A CLUNKING SOUND. FORUMS SUGGEST THAT THE ISSUE IS EITHER THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING LINKAGE. IF THIS FAILS WILL IT CAUSE LOCK UP OR LOSS OF STEERING? THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. SO FAR, I HAVE HAD ONLY THIS 'CLUNKING' SOUND.
MY 2013 SIENNA WAS PARKED WITH REMOTE BUTTON USED TO OPEN THE REAR HATCHBACK DOOR. IT WAS OPEN AND WE WERE LOADING UP THE BACK AREA WHEN THE HATCHBACK SUSPENSION FAILED AND THE DOOR CAME DOWN. THIS TRAPPED THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WAS STANDING UNDER IT AND IT TOOK ANOTHER PERSON TO HELP GET IT OFF THEM. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC WHO INFORMED US THE SHOCK WAS BAD AND THAT THERE WERE RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE. HOWEVER IT SEEMS NOT THE 2013 VERSION WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALLED ONE.
WHILE PULLING ON THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, THE HANDLE BROKE OFF.
FUEL PUMP SOMETIMES STOP WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A SUDDEN STALL OR HESITATION WHILE DRIVING. THE PROBLEM INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE MY SIENNA VAN IS TRAVELING AT A HIGH SPEED. WHEN FUEL PUMP FAILS, I NOTICE THAT THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE STARTS RUNNING ROUGH AND THAT WARNING LIGHTS MAY APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD. THE ENGINE MIGHT NOT RESTART IF IT STALLS. *TR
TAKATA RECALL. RECALL G0P SERVICED BY SERVCO TOYOTA (THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT AGAINST SERVCO; THEY DID GREAT WORK) 30 AUG 2018 (RECEIPT IN HAND). I AM GETTING READY TO SHIP MY VEHICLE AND THE SHIPPER NEEDS THE SAFERCAR PRINTOUT (SHOWING 0 RECALLS) WHICH STILL REFLECTS AN OPEN RECALL. JUST SPOKE WITH THE TOYOTA SERVICE DESK AND WAS TOLD THAT IT CAN TAKE A YEAR FOR THE DATA TO APPEAR IN THE SYSTEM. IT WILL BE A YEAR IN THREE DAYS (30 AUG 2019). IF THEY JUST STARTED THE UPLOAD PROCESS TODAY, I CANNOT SHIP MY VAN IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS. HOW CAN I GET THIS UPDATE EXPEDITED? HOW CAN I GET MY VIN CLEARED?
FUEL FILLER DOOR UPPER HINGE IS BROKEN. THIS PREVENTS THE ELECTRICALLY OPERATED SLIDING SIDE DOOR FROM OPENING THUS CAUSING ENTRAPMENT FOR PASSENGERS IN THE REAR SEATING AREAS. THE SLIDING DOOR SOMETIME WILL NOT OPEN WHEN PARKED OR STANDING BECAUSE OF THE BROKEN FUEL FILLER DOOR UPPER HINGE
GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TIRE SIZE 235 60 R17 NUMBER FOR RECALL AND M7JJ F1R 5116 TIRE HAS WHAT THEY CALL A SEAM MANUFACTURERS DEFECT JIM NORTON TOYOTA WOULDN'T WARRANTY IT EVEN WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE BUT THEY SAID IT HAS 4/32 LEFT ON IT BUT THEY WOULD IT IF THEY WERE ME NOT TO MENTION THAT THE OUTER WALLS OF THE TIRE WHERE THE TREAD IS WERE WEARING BUT NOT THE MIDDLE AND I'LL ONLY HAVE THE VEHICLE FOR LIKE A YEAR
THE PASSENGER SIDE CABLE ATTACHED TO THE SLIDING DOOR HAS STRIPPED, CAUSING AN INTERNAL JAM, DISALLOWING THE DOOR FROM CLOSING FULLY. EVEN MANUALLY CLOSING THE DOORS DOES NOT WORK, AND THE DOOR IS OPEN ROUGHLY 60% OF THE WAY. THE VAN IS STILL ABLE TO DRIVE WITH THE DOOR OPEN.
I was driving down the street and then my car lurched forward, the engine revving up. It is a 2013 Sienna XLE V6 & it had 113,000 miles on it. I had to STOMP on the brake to get it to stop.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT HAD THE SLIDING DOORS REPLACED, BUT THE HINGES ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WERE RUSTED OUT. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR FELL OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS DUE TO THE SLIDING DOOR THAT WAS DETACHED FROM THE HINGE. THE CONTACT CALLED SHERMAN TOYOTA 1555 (393 COURT ST, BINGHAMTON, NY 13904, 607-724-1334) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE NEW DOOR HINGE WOULD COST TO REPLACE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOUND ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
VERY ABNORMAL WEAR ON NEW TIRES THAT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS. I HAVE HAD THIS VAN FOR 13 MONTHS AND I'M ON MY 3RD SET OF NEW TIRES. ALIGNMENT AND ROTATIONS EVERY 5 K. THIS IS NOT A TIRE DEFECT BUT A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. IF YOU DO A GOOGLE SEARCH ABOUT TIRE WEAR ON THE SIENNA, THERE ARE 100'S OF FORUMS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. PLEASE HAVE TOYOTA ADDRESS THIS DESIGN FLAW PROBLEM AND FIND A SOLUTION. THANK YOU!
MY 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA WON'T STOP WHEN I COME TO A STOP SIGN. IT HAS HAPPENED 4X NOW. I NEED TO FIGHT TO KEEP THE BRAKE PRESSED, AND THE ENGINE REVS WAY UP. IF THERE WAS SOMEONE AHEAD OF ME, I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM. I SHIFT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND IT REVS EXTREMELY LOUD. THIS LAST TIME, WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD IN BACK SEAT SAID, ' DADDY I SCARED, I DON'T WANT TO BE IN HERE ANYMORE...'. THE NOISE OF THE ENGINE REVING SCARED HIM. I'M GOING TO TRADE THIS VAN IN. IT ONLY HAS 38000 MILES ON IT. I'M REPORTING THIS, SO THAT WHEN SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED BY THIS VAN - THE DRIVER CAN TRY TO GET TOYOTA TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE OUTCOME. I'M THE SECOND OWNER. MAYBE THIS IS THE REASON THE FIRST OWNER GOT RID OF IT...
TAKATA RECALL: OUR LOCAL DEALER SAYS THE AIRBAG FIX WILL BE "MONTHS FROM NOW" DUE TO BACKORDERED PARTS. THEY SAY, IN THE MEANTIME, DO NOT SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. WE USE THIS CAR EVERY DAY WITH KIDS NEEDING TRANSPORTATION. THE DEALER TIMEFRAME IS UNACCEPTABLE. ARE THERE ANY INDEPENDENT COMPANIES WHO CAN FIX THE AIRBAG?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TAKATA
WE EXPERIENCED A VERY COLD ARCTIC BLASE IN EARLY JANUARY 2018. THE VAN WAS IN OUR GARAGE. WHEN I TRIED TO OPED THE LEFT HAND REAR SLIDING DOOR, IT WOULD NOT OPEN. AFTER A SECOND ATTEMPT, IT DID OPEN BUT THEN REVERSED. EVENTUALLY, IT WOULD NOT CLOSE AND LATCH, SO WE DID NOT DRIVE IT THAT DAY. I HAD TO SLAM IT SHUT IN ORDER FOR THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO SO OUT SO NOT TO RUN DOWN THE BATTERY. I DID DRIVE IT A FEW DAYS LATER, AND THE DOOR CAME OPEN WHEN I MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN. WHEN I WOULD STOP, IT SHUT, BUT DID NOT LATCH. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM AFTER EXPLAINING THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. LATER THAT DAY, DEALER SAID THERE WAS ALSO A PROBLEM WITH THE CLOSING MOTOR AND THAT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL REPAIR. IT ONLY COVERED THE WIRING HARNESS AND JUNCTION BOX. I GOT A RIDE FROM WORK TO THE DEALER AND THEY OFFERED ME A LOANER WHILE THEY DID MORE EVALUATIONS OF THE PROBLEM. LATER THE NEXT DAY, I WAS TOLD THE REPAIRS WOULD COST $1300 AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I FELT THAT THE FAILURE OF THE CABLES AND THE FUSE BEING OVERLOADED PROBABLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE MOTOR FAILING. I THEN TOLD THEM JUST TO DISABLE THE POWER FUNCTION AND WE WOULD JUST OPEN AND CLOSE MANUALLY BECAUSE I COULD NOT AFFORD THAT REPAIR AT THIS TIME. LATER THAT DAY. THE SERVICE ADVISER LEFT ME A VOICE MAIL THAT THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIR NOR REPAIR THE LATCH AND THE VEHICLE WAS READY FOR ME TO PICK UP. I CALL BACK ON SATURDAY MORNING TO SPEAK TO SERVICE MANAGER, BUT HE WAS OFF. I CALLED BACK ON MONDAY, BUT HAD TO LEAVE A VOICE MESSAGE. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT EVEN IF I COULD AFFORD THE REPAIR THIS TIME, IT WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN TO THE OTHER DOOR AT SOME POINT AS WELL. THERE SEEMS TO BE QUITE A HISTORY OF THIS PROBLEM GOING BACK SEVERAL YEARS AND IT'S MORE OF A DESIGN ISSUE.

TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE IS ON THE AIRBAG RECALL LIST. NHTSA RECALL NUMBER IS 16V858. RECALL STATUS IS INCOMPLETE. I'VE CONTACTED MY DEALER A NUMBER OF TIMES FOR AIRBAG REPLACEMENT BUT WAS TOLD THAT THERE'S NO ARRANGEMENT FOR MY VEHICLE'S AIRBAG RECALL. I UNDERSTAND THE DEADLINE FOR CLAIMING IS 27NOV2017 SO I'M FILING THIS COMPLAINT AND LOOK FORWARD TO AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ASAP.
THIS MINI VAN IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST VEHICLE FOR TIRE WEAR. AT 90,000 MILES, I HAVE PUT ON 5 DIFFERENT SETS OF TIRES. I'VE ROTATED THE TIRE FAIRLY RELIGIOUSLY AT 6-8K MILES AND EVEN THOUGH THE TIRES ARE WEARING EVENLY, THEY WEAR OUT FAST ESPECIALLY ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING DEFECT THAT TOYOTA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR. IT ALSO PUTS THE OCCUPANTS AT RISK OF BLOWOUT AS TIRES ARE WEARING MUCH FASTER THAN IS NORMAL.
THE MID ROW RIGHT SEAT BELT IS ALL THE WAY OUT AND THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT. I HAVE TRIED JERKING AND PULLING ALL DIRECTION BUT DOES NOT RETRACT BACK.
I HAD THE RECENT SLIDING DOOR RECALL DONE BUT MY DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR STILL ISN'T WORKING CORRECTLY. AFTER THE FIX THE CAR WAS HARD TO START SOMETIMES, AS IF THE BATTERY WAS GETTING WEAK. I PUT AN AMMETER ON THE POSITIVE LEAD OF THE BATTERY AND NOTICES MINIMAL AMPERAGE UNTIL I STARTED OPERATING THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR, THEN THERE WAS A 2.4 AMP DRAW EVEN AFTER THE DOORS WERE CLOSED AND THE CAR WAS LOCKED. THE DOOR ALSO SOMETIMES WILL OPEN WITH A POPPING NOISE AS IF THE DOOR ISN'T LATCHING PROPERLY SOMETIMES. WHILE TESTING, THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR GOT TO WHERE IT WOULD NOT OPEN OR CLOSE USING THE OVERHEAD BUTTON, THE DOOR POST BUTTON, OR THE REMOTE DOOR BUTTON. WHILE TRYING TO CLOSE THE DOOR MANUALLY IT WOULD ROLL FOR A SHORT DISTANCE AND STOP. AFTER SITTING A FEW SECONDS I CAN CLOSE IT A LITTLE MORE BUT THEN THE SAME THING WOULD HAPPEN. IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THE DOOR TO CLOSE. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES NORMALLY. NO POPPING NOISE AND THE BUTTONS WORK EVEN WHEN THE BUTTONS FOR THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR DO NOT.

I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CARS SLIDING DOOR MECHANISM. RECALL NUMBER 16V-858. I CALLED HANDY TOYOTA IN ST. ALBANS VT TO HAVE THE RECALL REMEDIED. I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WOULD BE ORDERED AND THEY SHOULD ARRIVE IN ABOUT 4 DAYS AND I WOULD RECEIVE A PHONE CALL WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVED. ONE WEEK LATER I STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED A PHONE CALL, I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT IN YET IN AND THEY WOULD CALL TOYOTA DEALER TO SEE WHERE THE PARTS WERE. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CALLED THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. ANOTHER WEEK HAD PASSED AND NO PHONE CALL. I CALLED HANDY TOYOTA TODAY 11-2-2017 AND SPOKE TO JAMIE IN THE PARTS DEPARTMENT. HE TOLD ME I WAS NOT IN THERE SYSTEM, ONLY FOR A CAR I HAD PURCHASED THERE 9 YEARS AGO. HE INFORMED ME THAT THE PART HAD NEVER BEEN ORDERED. IN ORDER TO GET THE PART NEEDED HE WOULD NEED MY VIN NUMBER TO GET THE CORRECT PARTS. THE PEOPLE I HAD PREVIOUSLY SPOKEN WITH NEVER ASKED ME FOR A VIN NUMBER AND BOTH PEOPLE HAD ASSURED ME THE PARTS HAD BEEN ORDERED. JAMIE HAS ASSURED ME THAT HE HAS ORDERED THE PARTS AND THEY SHOULD ARRIVE IN ABOUT 4 DAYS. THE SERVICE I RECEIVED WAS NON EXISTENT. IT SEEMS THAT THE FIRST 2 PEOPLE I SPOKE WITH WERE EITHER VERY POORLY TRAINED OR SIMPLY UNTRUTHFUL.
1. FAULTY TK AIRBAGS - I GOT A NOTICE OVER MAIL ABOUT IT. 2. MY SIDE DOOR OPENED DURING DRIVING, I THEN FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL FOR SLIDING POWER DOORS (ELECTRIC ISSUE) - I CONTACTED LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY SAID THEY CANNOT HANDLE IT IN THE NEXT 5 MONTHS AS THEY HAVE NO PARTS.
I WAS NOTIFIED MY VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON THE POWER DOORS. I MADE AN APPT ON 9/20/17 WITH ALAMO TOYOTA TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE ORDERING THE PARTS. I CALLED ALAMO TOYOTA ON 10/10/17 AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. I CALLED AGAIN ON 1/3/18 AND WAS TOLD BY 2 INDIVIDUALS THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THAT THE PARTS WERE ORDERED FOR MY VEHICLE. WE ARE TALKING 3.5 MONTHS LATER I'M BEING TOLD THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL WERE NEVER ORDERED. WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO MY FAMILY, MY CHILDREN WHO SIT IN THE BACK? THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS AS OF 1/3/18. I'M STILL WAITING TO HEAR WHEN THESE PARTS ARRIVE. IN THE MEAN TIME, I PRAY NOTHING HAPPENS TO MY CHILDREN!
I'M DISAPPOINTED THAT ALAMO TOYOTA IN SAN ANTONIO, TX DID NOT MENTION OR REQUEST TO FIX THIS RECALLED PART WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN IN SEPTEMBER 2017 FOR THE RECALL ON THE POWER DOORS. NOW, SEVERAL MONTHS LATER I'M DEALING WITH ANOTHER RECALL WAITING ON PARTS TO BE ORDERED WHEN THIS COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED 4-6 MONTHS AGO AND THIS WHOLE TIME MYSELF AND MY FAMILY HAVE BEEN AT RISK WITH THESE RECALLED PARTS NOT BEING REPAIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, BOTH SLIDING DOORS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS REMAINED OPEN WHEN PROMPTED TO AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE. IN ADDITION, THE SLIDING DOORS HAD TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED AND UNLOCKED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
I BOUGHT THIS VAN IN FEB 2017, CHECKED ON THE WEB AND FOUND IT HAS A RECALL INCOMPLETED REGARDING TO THE SLIDING DOORS. WHAT SHOULD I DO ? AND, THERE IS A NOISE INSIDE THE RADIO WHEN I SWITCH ON THE KEY, IT JUST STOPS WHEN I COMPLETLY PULL OUT THE KEY, ANY SUGGESTION?
TIRE IS CRACKING ALONG THE INSIDE WALL - SIMILAR TO OTHERS IN THE SERIES
TOYOTA HAS YET TO FIX THE POWER SLIDING DOOR PROBLRSM FOR MY VEHICLE. I AM HANDICAPPED AND THE POWER DOORS WERE THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE TRIED THREE TIMES TO GET THIS FIXED. THE LATEST TIME THEY SET UP THE APPOINTMENT AND THEN CALLED STATING THAT THEY COULDN'T FIX IT AND AGAIN I NEEDED TO WAIT. I JUST NEED THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OUT FOR A VERY LONG TIME BUT THEY HAVE YET TO TRY TO FIX MY VAN.
THE CABLE OF MY AUTOMATIC DOORS OF MY TOYOTA SIENNA SNAPPED. WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR USING MY KEY FOB, THE DOOR OPENED, BUT THEM PROCEED TO MAKE A HIGH PITCHED BEEPING NOISE (LIKE WHEN YOU TRY TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE ONE OF THE DOORS IS OPEN). THE DOORS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE AND IT NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY CLOSED. AFTER INVESTIGATING, I NOTICED THAT THE CABLE OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERED. THE CAR HAS BEEN ROUTINELY MAINTAINED AS SUGGESTED BY TOYOTA AND HAS 39,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND WE ARE THE ORIGINALLY OWNERS OF THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE MY DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEED. I WENT ONLINE AND LEARNED THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED FOR MY VEHICLE FOR THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED A VISIT TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. WHEN I ARRIVED THEY REFUSED TO MAKE THE REPAIR BECAUSE I HAD A BRUNO HANDICAPPED SEAT INSTALLED SO THAT MY WIFE, WHO IS HANDICAPPED, COULD ENTER AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE SEAT REMOVED BEFORE THEY COULD MAKE THE REPAIR. I CONTACTED THE COM[PANY THAT INSTALLED THE SEAT WHO SAID IT WOULD COST A MINIMUM OF $500 TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL THE SEAT. IT IS TOYOTA'S DOOR THAT IS DEFECTIVE AND I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS FOR REPAIR. THEIR RECALL NOTICE ALSO STATES REPAIRS WILL BE MADE AT "NO CHARGE" TO THE CUSTOMER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SWITCHED THE DOOR TO MANUAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V858000 (STRUCTURE). THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (GREENFIELD TOYOTA, GREENFIELD, MA, 413-772-0231), BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED DUE TO A HANDICAP SEAT THAT WAS INSTALLED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WANTED THE HANDICAP SEAT REMOVED BEFORE THE RECALL REMEDY COULD BE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000.
RECENTLY NOTICED THAT AFTER A HEAVY RAIN, WATER IS LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE ON PASSENGER SIDE AND ALONG THE UPPER CONSOLE WHERE SWITCHES FOR THE SUNROOF ARE LOCATED. OPENED SLIDE AND FELT WATER ALONG THE FRONT EDGE OF OPENING FOR SUNROOF. CANNOT TELL WHERE RAINWATER IS ENTERING BUT BELIEVE IT MIGHT BE THE SUNROOF SEAL.
2013 TOYOTA SIENNA RECALL DATED 11/16. I PURCHASED IT IN 6/17 FROM A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WITH THE SAFETY ISSUE UNRESOLVED( VEHICLE POWER SLIDING DOOR). WHY IS VEHICLE ALLOWED TO BE SOLD WITH DOCUMENTED SAFETY PROBLEM.
I HAVE A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA AWD WITH 23,500 MILES ON IT AND MY BRAKES JUST STARTED SCRAPPING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE WORN OUT AND NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. COST: $970 AND CHANGE. A CAR WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NOT NEED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS.THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GIVE ME A REASON FOR THE WEAR BUT INSISTED THE WORK WAS NECESSARY AND THAT THEY HAD THE CAR APART AND READY TO GO. BECAUSE IT IS A 2013 THERE WAS NO WARRANTEE SO I HAD TO PAY THE ENTIRE BILL OUT OF POCKET.
THE POWER SLIDING DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN BY PUSHING THE BUTTON. THE POWER BUTTON WAS IN THE ON POSITION. IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DOOR WE HAD TO TRY IT MANUALLY AND WHEN THAT WAS DONE THE CABLE BROKE. THE FOLLOWING WEEK THE OTHER POWER SLIDING DOOR CABLE BROKE AS WELL. AFTER THE CABLE BROKE YOU COULD NOT EVEN OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY WITH THE POWER BUTTON IN THE OFF POSITION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS TO IF A CHILD OR PERSON WAS IN THAT SEAT AND WOULD BE UNABLE TO GET OUT IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN A STATIONARY POSITION WHEN THIS HAPPENED. NOW THE ONE DOOR WILL BECOME UNLODGED AND OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I DO KNOW THAT THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON THAT PORTION OF IT BUT I BELIEVE THAT THE CABLES FOR THE POWER DOORS SHOULD BE INCLUDED BECAUSE I DO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE A CAUSE TO THIS.
I HAVE HAD A SLIDING DOOR FAILURE, EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN NOTIFICATION ZH4 AND ZH5, AND SAFETY RECALL 16V-858. THE REAR SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT FULLY CLOSE, OR WOULD NOT LATCH, AND WOULD OFTEN RE-OPEN AUTOMATICALLY. THE DOOR EXHIBITED A GRINDING NOISE AND WOULD OFTEN NOT LATCH. THIS ON A VEHICLE JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD WITH 48,880 MILES ON IT, ALWAYS GARAGED AND NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT. WHEN I THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER ON JUNE 13TH, 2017, THE DEALER REPAIRED THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE UPPER DOOR HINGE WHICH APPARENTLY HAD FAILED. I WAS CHARGED $323.46 AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. AFTER THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED, I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH WAS DENIED AS THEY SAID THE CONDITION MY VEHICLE EXHIBITED WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT ON A CURRENT VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY TOYOTA WHEN THE SYMPTOM MIRRORS THAT DESCRIBED IN THE CURRENT RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 TOYOTA SEINNA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE PANEL OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER STOPPING, FLAMES APPEARED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILS TO ENGAGE WHEN PASSENGER SITS IN PASSENGER SEAT. AIRBAG INDICATOR SAYS THE AIRBAG IS NOT ENGAGED WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS SOMETIMES OFF THOUGH AN ADULT FULL SIZE PASSENGER IS SITTING ON THE SEAT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
