MY WIFE AND I WERE GOING OUT OF OUR 60 FOOT DRIVEWAY. WE WERE GOING FORWARD AS I ALWAYS BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR A LITTLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND HELD IT DOWN SO I COULD LOOK FOR TRAFFIC. AS I HELD DOWN ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE STARTED TO "RACE" AS IF SOMEONE WAS PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKES HELD. I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR, CALMED DOWN AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE- NO MOTOR "RUSH." THANK THE LORD THIS HAPPENED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, WE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE OR GOTTEN KILLED OURSELVES. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS OF ALL THOSE RECALLS BECAUSE OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. MY SECOND THOUGHT WAS, "WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN AGAIN?"
THE REAR WINDOW ON THE HATCHBACK DOOR BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT - THE NEXT MORNING IT WAS SHATTERED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER TO FIND OUT IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM - I WAS TOLD NO. HOWEVER UPON PERFORMING A GOOGLE SEARCH I FOUND HUNDREDS OF INSTANCES OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. IT WAS ALSO INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THE REAR WINDOWS WERE/ARE ON NATIONAL BACKORDER FROM TOYOTA. THE WINDOW INSTALLED IN MY VAN WAS APPARENTLY A "TAKE OFF" FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. I AM HIGHLY CONCERNED THAT THIS ISSUE WILL OCCUR AGAIN, POSSIBLY NEXT TIME WHILE DRIVING OR WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE.
WINTER REAR BRAKE FREEZE UP. TOOK THE VAN TO NORTHTOWN TOYOTA TODAY & WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECH. THAT THE VAN CAN'T BE WASHED IN WINTER BECAUSE IT CAUSES THE REAR BRAKES TO FREEZE UP. THIS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURING OR DESIGN DEFECT. WE LIVE IN NIAGARA FALLS, NY & THE VAN GETS EXTREMELY DIRTY IN WINTER & NEEDS WASHING REGULARLY. *TR
AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO THE GAS STATION AND FILLING UP WITH GAS, THE VAN WOULD NOT RESTART. WHEN THE START BUTTON WAS PRESSED, IT WOULD JUST CLICK, AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT WAS DETERMINED THAT AT LEAST THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN 5 DEGREE WEATHER. IN AN ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR, UNLOCKED SLIDING POWER DOOR, IT WOULD NOT OPEN. MY WIFE WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET OUR 18 MONTH OLD OUT OF A COLD CAR. IN A PANIC, SHE HAD TO CLIMB OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT TO PULL HIM OUT, AND THEN CLIMB BACK OVER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VAN WAS FINALLY JUMP STARTED AND BROUGHT TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND JUST SHRUGGED OFF THE FACT THAT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN WHEN THE BATTERY IS DEAD. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR US. IF WE HAPPEN TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE BATTERY GETS DISCONNECTED, WE WOULD NT BE ABLE TO QUICKLY AND SAFELY REMOVE OUR CHILD FROM THE VAN. *TR
CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING LEFT TO RIGHT AND VICE VERSA. STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ISSUE IS A WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM. *TR
STEERING COLUMN MADE CLUNKING NOISE AND STUCK. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ACCELERATOR PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL MOMENTARILY BECAME STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING FOR THREE MILES, THE PEDAL DID NOT RELEASE WHEN HE MOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKE. *JB
WE PARKED OUR CAR IN THE GARAGE AND THE NEXT MORNING WOKE TO A SHATTERED REAR WINDSHIELD. THE WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED AND REMOVED FROM THE FRAME OF THE BACK WINDOW. THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR ANY OTHER INCIDENT THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS DAMAGE. *TR
OUR FRONT RIGHT DOOR SENSOR PROVIDES FALSE READINGS. THE DOOR SENSOR STATES THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT. THE DOOR SENSOR GOES ON AND OFF. EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SEALED SHUT, IT IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING BECAUSE OF THE OF NOISE AND VISUAL ALERT THAT STATES THAT THE DOOR IS SUPPOSEDLY NOT SHUT. *TR
MY WIFE WENT OUTSIDE THIS MORNING AND SAW WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES. THE REAR GLASS WAS SHATTERED AND GLASS WAS ON THE OUTSIDE INDICATING THAT THE WINDOW HAD POSSIBLY BEEN PUSHED OUTWARDS. THERE WAS ONLY A LITTLE BIT OF GLASS ON THE INSIDE. I PARKED THE CAR OUTSIDE LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR TEXAS. THE REAR OF THE CAR WAS LESS THAN A FOOT FROM OUR GARAGE. THE DAMAGE IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH VANDALISM AND THERE ARE NO GLASS PIECES INSIDE THE CAR THAT WOULD SUGGEST A BAT OR ANYTHING ELSE. WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO TEXAS TOYOTA OF GRAPEVINE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A WASTE (OTHER THAN THE SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE). THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND SINCE THEY "HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE SO IT WON'T BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY." THEY WOULD NOT LOOK AT THE PICTURES I PROVIDED AND INSTEAD DECIDED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THAT THEY COULD PROVE IT WAS A DEFECT. THEY DID NOT EVEN CONSIDER THAT IT COULD BE A BAD DEFROSTER UNIT (OTHER REPORTS ON THIS SITE INDICATED THAT POSSIBILITY) OR THE REAR DOOR FRAME WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT OR THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF THE WINDOW ITSELF. NO ONE FROM MANAGEMENT CAME AND ASKED US WHAT HAPPENED OR OFFERED TO HAVE US WALK THROUGH WHAT WE FOUND. AFTER THE OIL CHANGE WAS COMPLETE, THE CAR WAS DELIVERED BACK TO US WITH THE GLASS STILL IN THE VEHICLE AND THE REAR WINDOW NOT COVERED. TEXAS TOYOTA OF GRAPEVINE WEBSITE STATES THAT ALL SERVICE COMES WITH "COMPLIMENTARY CAR WASH AND INTERIOR VACUUM." I CAN UNDERSTAND NOT WASHING BUT THE INTERIOR VACUUM IS UNACCEPTABLE. AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED, THEY LET US LEAVE THE FACILITY WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH NO REGARD FOR OUR SAFETY OR THE SAFETY OF OTHER DRIVERS. *TR
THERE ARE 2 PROBLEMS I AM EXPERIENCING WITH MY 1 YR OLD TOYOTA 2013 SIENNA VAN - 1> RATTLING NOISE COMING FRM BACK OF 2ND ROW OR 3RD SEAT - VERY HARD TO PINPOINT SOURCE, TOOK IT TO MY DEALER FOR 25K SVC, EXPLAINED, WAS NOTIFIED THEY WILL RUN THIS CHECK ON MY 30K MILEAGE SVC AS VAN NEEDS TO BE LEFT FOR 3 TO 4 HRS WITH THEM. THERE ARE A LOT OF INTERNET BLOGS AND POSTINGS ON THIS ISSUE, WITH SOME GETTING TOYOTA TO REPLACE 2ND OR 3RD SEATING COMPLETELY WITH A BRAND NEW SEAT AND THUS MAKING NOISE DISAPPEAR 2> WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, WHINING NOISE IN THE BACKGROUND CAN BE HEARD AT VERY LO W SPEED AROUND 15-25 MPH OR EVEN LESS, VERY ANNOYING AND DISTURBING FOR ANY CAR DRIVER.I BELIEVE THAT IS MAY ALSO SIGNIFY AN UNDERLYING PROBLEM, WAITING TO GET OUT OF CONTROL. WITH A RANGE OF MOVING PARTS WORKING IN TANDEM, IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIGURE OUT THE SOURCE OF SUCH ABNORMAL CAR SOUNDS. HOWEVER, ONE THING YOU CAN BE SURE OF, IS THAT THE NOISE, IN THIS CASE, IS CREATED DUE TO SOME PROBLEM IN THE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY ITSELF. THE LIKELY CANDIDATES ARE THE POWER STEERING PUMP, PULLEY, OR THE BELT. I BELIEVE - TOYOTA AGAIN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE - AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS BLOGS AND POSTINGS ON THIS ISSUE AS WELL, THEY SHOULD COME OUT CLEAN AND MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS ASAP PRIOR AN INJURY OR FATALITY HAPPENS AGAIN. WITH ALL THE RE-CALLS TOYOTA HAS BEEN ISSUING I URGE NHTSA TO QUICKLY ACT ON IT - PRIOR NEW LAWSUITS OR DEATH OCCURS. PLEASE HELP COMMON MAN LIKE ME AND OTHERS HERE TO FIGHT THIS BEHEMOTH GIANT ! *TR
EVEN THE FRONT DOOR IS LOCKED AND IN DRIVE MODE YOU CAN OPEN THE DOOR, WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND THE DOOR ARE LOCKED MY WIFE ALMOST FELL WHEN HE ACCIDENTALLY PULLED THE FRONT DOOR OPENER. ITS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND IT MAKE NO SENSE IF YOU CAN OPEN THE DOOR INSIDE EVEN IF ITS LOCKED SPECIALLY WHEN ITS RUNNING. WHEN YOU START THE ENGINE THE DOOR WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THAT IF YOU CAN OPEN THE FRONT DOORS WITHOUT UNLOCKING IT. *TR
FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS, OUR VEHICLE, A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA THAT WE PURCHASED NEW, HAS EMITTED A VERY FOUL ODOR FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. FROM ALL THE INFORMATION I HAVE, THIS APPEARS TO BE FROM MOLD GROWTH. I AM WORRIED THAT ASIDE FROM BEING EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT, IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO TWO DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERS FOR SERVICE, AN INSPECTION BY A SOUTHEAST TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE, AND FOLLOWING ALL THE GUIDELINES FOUND IN THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY IMPROVEMENT. THE ODOR IS SPORADIC BUT PERSISTENT, USUALLY OCCURRING SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. AS I'VE EXPLAINED TO TOYOTA, THERE ARE THREE DISTINCT "SMELLS" (VINEGAR, WET DOG, AND ONE JUST VERY, VERY BAD). WE FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA LAST SPRING, WROTE LETTERS TO MANY TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVES, MET WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER AT THE DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED IT, AND HAVE BEEN IN PHONE CONTACT THE PAST THREE WEEKS WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE OFFICE OF [XXX] , CEO AND PRESIDENT OF TOYOTA NORTH AMERICA. TOYOTA MAINTAINS THIS IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE AND NOT A MECHANICAL ONE, THEREFORE THEY WON'T FIX IT. I HAVE OTHER VEHICLES IN THE SAME ENVIRONMENT WITHOUT THIS PROBLEM. BEING THAT THIS VAN WAS PURCHASED NEW, MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE EVER, MAKES IT EVEN MORE UPSETTING. WHILE ONE DEALERSHIP SAID A RECALL IS POSSIBLE, UNLESS THIS IS DEEMED A SAFETY CONCERN, I DO NOT SEE TOYOTA ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. PLEASE HELP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE SUN ROOF GLASS SUDDENLY SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
AS I WAS PULLING ON TO THE HIGHWAY THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I THEN NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERPOWERED, LIKE ONE CYLINDER WAS DEACTIVATED. CALLED MY DEALER FROM HIGHWAY WHO ADVISED THAT THEY WERE CLOSING IN 5 MINS AND TO NOT TURN IT OFF AS IT MAY NOT RESTART AND I MAY BE STRANDED ON HIGHWAY. DEALER FELT THAT IT WAS JUST BAD GAS, BUT I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THEM CHECK OUT THE CAR THE NEXT DAY. DROVE AT REDUCED SPEED TO MY HOUSE, TURNED CAR OFF AND A FEW MINUTES LATER RESTARTED VAN AND ALL THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE CAR PERFORMED AS NORMAL. THE DEALER INSPECTION THE NEXT DAY INDICATED A CYLINDER ENGINE CODE, AND NOT TO WORRY AS IT WAS PROBABLY BAD GAS. THIS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT SINCE THE CAR CORRECTED ITSELF WITH A RESTART AND NO CHANGE TO THE GAS. *JS
THE SLIDING DOOR WAS OPENING (VIA KEYCHAIN BUTTON), BUT OPENED ONLY HALFWAY BEFORE SLAMMING SHUT VERY QUICKLY. IT WAS LIKE IT THOUGHT IT HIT SOMETHING IN BY THE BACK TIRE, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THERE. MY DAUGHTER HAD STARTED GETTING INTO THE CAR, SO THE DOOR SLAMMED SHUT ON HER FINGER AND ACTUALLY LATCHED CLOSED WITH HER FINGER STUCK INSIDE. THE DOOR HASN'T WORKED SINCE. THIS "SAFETY FEATURE" BACKFIRED. *TR
I'VE JUST FINISHED READING THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V054000 THAT DISCUSSES: "AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT WITHIN THE ACTUATOR MAY EXPERIENCE AN INCREASED RESISTANCE RESULTING IN THE ILLUMINATION OF VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS, INCLUDING THOSE FOR THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) SYSTEM, ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM." I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN THREE TIMES OVER THE PAST FOUR MONTHS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY'VE RESET THE CODE AND COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. IT KEEPS COMING BACK. I BELIEVE THE 14V054000 NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE. *TR
THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED JUST 14 DAYS AGO AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 4 DAYS OUT OF THAT. IT WAS RAINING OUTSIDE AND WHEN I GOT INTO THE CAR NOTICED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE BODY STRUCTURE BETWEEN THE WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD NEAR THE DRIVERS SEAT. IT WAS DRIPPING CONTINUOUSLY AND I TOOK MY CAR TO SERVICE CENTRE. WOULD HAVE BEEN GLAD IF THERE WAS A WAY ON THIS SITE TO UPLOAD THE PICTURES TO SHOW THE REAL ISSUE. *TR
MY PARENTS BOUGHT NE A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE VAN,EVER SINCE THERE'S BEEN A LOUD RATTLING IN THE REAR AN THEY HAVE TAKEN IT IN OVER 40 TIMES EVEN THE YESTERDAY AN TOYOTA OF LOUISVILLE SAID THEY CAN'T FIX IT, I'VE HEARD IT WHILE RIDING IN THE VAN IT DRIVES YOU NUTS, THEY OVER $30,000 FOR THE VAN AN ITS LOUD RIDE SOUNDS MORE LIKE YOUR ON A TRAIN .MOM SAID THIS IS HER LAST TOYOTA SHE'S BUYING USA ONLY.
THE AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENT AS SOON AS I START THE CAR SMELLS LIKE A DIRTY WET TOWEL. THIS SMELL WILL LAST ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES IF I TURN OFF THE AC. TOYOTA SAID THIS IS NOTHING ABNORMAL FROM ANOTHER OTHER SIENNA. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPLASH SHIELD LINER AND WHEEL LINER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE HAS RECURRED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE DRIVER FAILED TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND CRASHED HEAD ON INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THEN A LIGHT POLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BROKEN NOSE, RIBS AND A CRACKED PELVIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 815.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, A BLIND SPOT APPEARED ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE BLIND SPOT HINDERED VISIBILITY WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE SRS AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING TO DIAGNOSE. HOWEVER, NO ERROR CODES WERE ABLE TO BE RETRIEVED FROM THE OBDII. THEY RESET THE COMPUTER TO CLEAR THE LIGHT AND ADVISED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE WITHOUT AN ERROR CODE. THEY ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE DOWN TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE IMMEDIATELY IF THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, IN ORDER TO GET AN ERROR CODE. A WEEK LATER, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. AS ADVISED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN DOWN TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE IMMEDIATELY TO HAVE THE CODE READ. IN ORDER TO READ THE CODE, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND THEN IMMEDIATELY TURNED BACK ON. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED BACK ON, THERE WAS NO ERROR CODE PRESENT. *TR
I TOOK A RIGHT TURN FROM JUPITAR RD. TO PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH FREEWAY - APPROXIMATELY 400 METERS BEFORE ENTERING THE TOLLWAY. THE TRAC OFF AND ENGINE FAULT LIGHT SWITCHED ON AND THE VAN COULDN'T GO BEYOND A MAXIMUM SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 20 OR 30 MPH. I WAS SHOCKED AND STUNNED AND COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS JUST HAPPENING AND HOW TO GET THE VAN TO A SIDE PATH AMID PASSING VEHICLES AT 60 TO 70 MPH BECAUSE THAT ROAD LEAD TO TOLL WAY ENTRANCE. FINALLY, AFTER LONG WAIT WITH A SHAKY HEART, I COULD MOVE THE VAN TO RIGHT LANE @ < 30 MPH AND STOPPED NEAR A RIGHT TURN. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND INSPECTED TYRE PRESSURE . IT WAS NORMAL. DEMANDED AN EXPLANATION FROM ASKTOYOTA AND THEY WERE DISMISSIVE ABOUT THE INTERNET REFERENCE AND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT DEALER. MY VAN IS WITH THEM SINCE LAST 4 DAYS AND STILL DON'T HAVE A STATUS. WHY THIS IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH ? 1. UNINTENDED SLOW DOWN TO MAXIMUM SPEED OF < 30 AND RANDOM OCCURRENCE OF THIS INCIDENT. IMAGINE, I AM JUST ENTERING THE TOLLWAY AT A MAXIMUM SPEED OF 30 OR I AM IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A HIGHWAY AT SPEED OF 30MPH THIS IS SUDDEN DEATH CASE AND I DON'T THINK TOYOTA WILL ADMIT THIS UNLESS YOU GET INVOLVED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD COULD NOT BE DEFROSTED. THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE DEFROSTER ON FULL BLAST BUT COULD NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT A REMEDY AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THERE HAD BEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
FROM THE ONSET OF PURCHASE OF A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE, THE AIR CONDITIONER HAS EMITTED A FOUL ODOR THAT SMELLS LIKE MOLD. NOR WILL THE A/C SYSTEM ADEQUATELY COOL THE VEHICLE UNTIL BEING DRIVEN SOMETIMES AS LONG AS TEN MILES, IF THEN. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO TURN OFF THE A/C BEFORE ARRIVING HOME TO ELIMINATE THE ODOR AND GIVEN A TOYOTA PRINT OUT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT IS SPECIFIC TO THE 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. ON THE LAST SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FREON WAS ADDED BUT DID NOT ELIMINATE THE ODOR OR IMPROVED THE A/C OUTPUT. THE FOUL ODOR NEVER GOES AWAY WHILE DRIVING AND MAY BE AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD FOR PERSONS WITH A LUNG OR BREATHING CONDITION. THIS IS A TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR THE RISK OF BEING EXPOSED TO A POTENTIAL DANGEROUS AND UNKNOWN NOXIOUS FUME TO THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
I DROVE ONLY 1975 MILEAGE BUT MY VAN MAKES UNBEARABLE NOISE FROM 3RD ROW SEAT. I TOOK TO TOYOTA SERVICE STATION TWICE BUT I WAS TOLD IT IS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND TOYOTA COULDN'T FIND SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. I SENT OUT EMAIL TO TOYOTA BUT DIDN'T HEAR FROM THEM YET I PAID ABOUT $ 44,000.00 FOR THIS VAN. DRIVING THIS CAR I FEEL I PUNISH MY SELF EVERYDAY. I AM LOOKING FOR HELP TO GET IT FIXED. *TR
THE WINDSHIELD DEFROST SYSTEM IS INADEQUATE. WITH THE "AUTO" SYSTEM ON, AND/OR THE FAN ON MAXIMUM , AND/OR THE WINDSHIELD DEFROST PRESS ON, THE UPPER 1/3 OF THE WINDSHIELD REMAINS FROSTED OVER. THIS SERIOUSLY AFFECTS VISIBILITY AND SAFETY. THE FAN SEEMS TO BE BLOWING HARD, BUT AIR FLOW FROM THE DEFROST VENTS SEEMS WEAK. THE PROBLEM IS MOST APPARENT AT OR NEAR SUB-ZERO OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES. *TR
