IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AT 40 MPH THAT DAMAGED FRAME,AND CAUSED FRONT END TO BE REPLACED, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
REAR SEAT PASSENGERS HEADS STRIKE THE REAR WINDOW. IF I WERE TO BE REARENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, AN OCCUPANTS HEAD WILL GO THROUGH THE GLASS. *AK
ALL OF THE TIRES THAT FIRESTONE MAKE HAVE A PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION, METHODS OF ASSEMBLY, AND DESIGN OF THIS LINE ARE THE SAME.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AT 25-30 MPH WITH A TELEPHONE POLE, NO DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG DURING COLLISION. *MJS
WE PURCHASED A TOYOTA TACOMA WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM TOYOTA OF EASLEY IN AUGUST OF 2000. WHEN THE TRUCK HAD ABOUT 12000 MILES ON IT, THE FRONT TIRES WERE WEARING IRREGULARLY. I CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THE FRONT END NEEDED ALIGNMENT SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THEM TO DO SO. SINCE THE FRONT TIRES BY THEN WERE WORN PRETTY BADLY, I ASKED THEM TO ROTATE THE TIRES. THEY WOULD NOT ROTATE THE TIRES UNDER WARRANTY, SO I PAID THEM TO ROTATE THE TIRES. THEY DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT REPLACING THE WORN TIRES. AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER 12000 MILES, THE FRONT TIRES HAVE WORN THE SAME WAY AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN. I TOLD THEM THAT ALIGNING THE FRONT END DID NOT FIX IT BEFORE AND AFTER ARGUING WITH THEM FOR SOME TIME, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CONTACT TECHNICAL SERVICE AND SEE WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK AND LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE NOT CALLED. IT'S BEEN ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF. I HAVE CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN AND EACH TIME WAS TOLD THEY HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM TECHNICAL SERVICE YET. I CALLED TWO DAYS AGO AND THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME AGAIN, THAT HE WOULD CALL ME BACK. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN AND EACH TIME, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT HE WAS OUT DOING A TEST DRIVE. I HAVE LEFT MY NAME AND NUMBER AND ASKED THAT HE RETURN MY CALL AND AS OF YET HE HAS NOT CALLED ME BACK. I PRESENTLY HAVE A TRUCK THAT IS A YEAR OLD AND HAS EXCESSIVE WEAR ON ALL FOUR TIRES NOW AND HAVE FRONT END PROBLEMS THAT I AM UNABLE TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. THIS VEHICAL AND I THINK MANY OTHER TOYOTA VEHICALS FALSLY SHOW A DASH LIGHT TO INDICATE A BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM WHEN THERE IS NO PROBLEM. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW BUT IT WAS BETWEEN THE MIN/MAX LEVELS INDICATED. I PRESSED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADMITTED THAT THE FLUID LEVEL HAD TO BE AT THE MAX MARK OR THE DASH LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE COME TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO THIS FALSE INDICATION. IN MY OPINION THE VEHICAL SHOULD NOT GIVE A FALSE INDICATION OF TROUBLE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM WHEN THE FLUID LEVEL IS CORRECT. I THINK MANY PEOPLE ARE WASTING TIME GOING TO THE DEALER DUE TO THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS VEHICLE EXPERIENCES EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL, A LOUD NOISE CAN BE HEARD AND VEHICLE JUMPS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE. DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS NORMAL, A CHARACTERISTIC IN TOYOTA VEHICLES. *AK
WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP THE DRIVER WOULD PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE FORWARD. *AK
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS REAR-ENDED, CAUSING A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. *AK
