NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Driving around a winding turn incline , tacoma hesitated at 40 mph while going down incline. Tacoma rpms fluctuates at 40 mph as if the engine is having difficulty accelerating. You can hear the engine stalling or shuttering to catch up to speed. This is occurred driving at a steady 40mph. The Tacoma seems to be stalling out at a certain speed limit and rpm at 40 mph. It only has this symptom at 40 mph going down an incline. This is dangerous and there were vehicles behind me traveling at the same speed going around a winding turn incline. This could of caused a pile up because of the tacoma struggling to maintain speed and accelerate to keep speed. Ive taken this tacoma to Nalley dealer and they've replicated the problem but thought if resetting driving mode would clear the problem. That did not clear the problem and its currently causing the same issue. The tech seems clueless in whats going on when ive explained that it happens at a certain mph and while going down incline. The tech know that this has occurred when he taken the tacoma on a test run. Some how the tech think a reset of driver style handling is the issue. The tacoma isn' responding to a driver style handling reset. Ive scheduled another appointment with the dealer to have the tech check the tacoma again. There are other years of Tacoma's that have this problem. I believe this particular tacoma has the same issue as the other tacoma years that are under a torque converter recall. The symptoms are identical compared to other tacoma year models under the torque converter recalls.I don' want this problem to become a hazard where the tacoma cause a massive pile up in traffic because of the unstable mph at 40 mph.The 2015 tacoma doesn't keep steady speed limit at 40 mph going down incline. The rpm fluctuates at 40 mph as if its trying to distinguish what speed limit the engine is driving at. The tacoma is stalling at 40 mph while making a shutter sound while driving down inclines and winding turns.
TACOMA FRAME IS RUSTING AND SO ARE OTHER KEY COMPONENTS OF THE FRAME, SUPER WHITE PAINT IS ALSO CHIPPING IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS SUCH AS FRONT BUMPER AND DOOR FRAMES
Paint starting to peel on exterior of both passenger and rear passenger side doors above window frame. Apparently Toyota is aware of the problem in models with the Super White paint color and has issued a recall for their vehicles with certain VIN's. My VIN is not included in the recall although the paint peeling is identical to other vehicles that are included in the recall. Thank you.
I would like to express my concern about the paint on my 2015 Toyota Tacoma in Ribbon Blue, which has faded significantly on the roof and hood and is chipping extensively underneath the hood, around the windows, and underneath the doors. The extent of the fading and chipping is alarming, especially given that the vehicle is barely 10 years old and has been properly maintained. For a company renowned for quality and durability, this level of paint deterioration is unacceptable and seems like a manufacturing defect.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while driving 30-35 MPH with the seat belt engaged, the vehicle in front of the contact suddenly stopped at a set of train tracks, and the contact crashed into the rear of the vehicle, and that vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle ahead. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. A Police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the left arm, neck, face, back, and head and was taken by ambulance to the hospital to seek medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to a recovery lot. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
I have a 2015 Tacoma that has the super white (040) paint issues of flacking and peeling on around my windows, doors and engine bay as well has all painted metal surfaces seem to have lost its clear coat finish and now looks flat matte. These issues are described in both Toyota Customer Support Programs 23TE08 (2016-2022 Tacomas) and ZKG (Wide range of vehicles not including Tacomas); however, my truck is not included in either CSP. I would like to request that my vehicle year be included in the currently running Toyota Customer Programs for the Super White paint chip and pealing issues.
The vehicle's Super White Factory Applied paint (040) is peeling around the exterior window frame. Took it to local dealership and was advised to speak with Toyota Customer Service who advised that my year had not been included in the SRP 23TE08 with the same issues for years 2016-2022. They asked me to file complaint here so hoping that it can be added to get the repairs approved.

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tacoma equipped with Toyo Tires, Tire Line: Open Country A/T II, Tire Size: 265/70/R16, DOT Number: CXLJ17M2318. The contact stated that there were cracks between the treads on all four tires. The tires were replacement tires. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the online tire seller. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 62,000. The tires failure mileage was 8,500. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, the seat belt buckle failed to secure the seat belt locking clip. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the seat belt buckle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 18,000.
Horn only working when the steering wheel is turned., my worries are these are is the same symptoms of an issue that forced a recall with clock springs for mo year 2012 tacomas in 2016.
Paint failure. Rear drives side door where window seal meets door frame. Dimensions 2 inches high by 3/4 inch wide. No rock chip or other damage that would cause paint to fail. Vehicle is white paint color.
Paint is flaking off on the inside of all doors. Paint color is blue ribbon metallic.
I have had 5 cracked windshields in about 6 years. Never had any broken windshields in my previous 45 years of driving. I was told one replacement was a factory OEM. Generic for others mostly from Safelight here in Orlando Florida. These replacements have jacked up my insurance premiums. What is going on?
Toyota has a Customer Support Program for white Toyota vehicles with peeling or chipping paint. The program covers vehicles in Blizzard Pearl or Super White that are within 10 years of their production date. The Tacoma is not listed on that recall. However, I am experiencing the very same issue with my Toyota. I took it to the local Toyota dealer and they confirmed the issue.
The emergency brakes locked up during use and the truck has to be rocked back and forth for the emergency brakes to get unstuck. Did some searching and lots of other Tacoma owners has experienced the same issue
Rust protection has never been done. I just purchased this truck in August 2023 from dealer (new and used) and learn about this deadly serious frame rot. I was at Faulkern Toyota Wednesday morning 9:30am appointment just to be told "the previous owner did not bring it back for the rust protection ". Tell me time has expired. This is a life or death issue. The frame rots, you loose control while driving. Faulkern Toyota admitted the work was never done because the previous owner never returned. Maybe he was sick on his death bed with covid-19. Faulkern Toyota refused to do anything and sent me away. .
Severe premature paint failure on hood, roof, & cab of 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Paint has completely oxidized and failed, exposing underlying surface. This appears consistent with a broader pattern of paint defects reported by other Toyota owners. Manufacturer has declined coverage despite the failure being clearly beyond normal wear.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated while her husband was depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to regain control of the vehicle and continued driving to the residence but experienced the failure for second time. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the air filter, the intake box, the throttle body, and the fuel injectors to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,599.
TRAC OFF & ENGINE lights came on. Removed gas cap and put it back on. Removed cables to the battery and left them off. Replaced battery cables. Lights remain on. Went to dealership and they charged $100 to scan vehicle. They don't know what's wrong and said it'd be another $800 to check further. They said maybe a rodent had chewed through a cable??? Have seen several reports of this vehicle condition and the battery cable resetting took care of the problem a lot of the time. Not this time. Don't feel comfortable A. driving the truck with these lights on and B. Don't feel comfortable with handing over $800 for them to look into it. What to do?????????????
When starting vehicle (2015 Tacoma TRD Sport) on a cold morning, received check engine light and trac light. Used code reader and received code P0418 Secondary Air Injection System Control A Circuit error. I reset the code and it came back immediately. I did some research and it is a known issue. I also contacted a local Toyota Dealer (Kool Toyota) and they stated there is no open recalls on my vehicle and that they have replaced this on some vehicles but mine is not included on the recall. In review this is a known issue with the Secondary Air Injection System failing with Tacomas yet Toyota fails to do anything about it. It is an expensive fix for a known issue. Toyota has recalled 2012s and have a service notice for a fix but it is expensive. The Service notice was created because of the issue however they fail to do anything about it besides a service notice.
TOYOTA TACOMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO AN AUTO ACCIDENT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE TRUCK TO GET SOME PAPERS AND WHEN OPENING THE PASSENGER DOOR THE TRUCK EXPLODED IN FLAMES IN WHICH THE CONSUMER SUFFERED 8 DEGREE BURNS AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 3 HOURS.
Due to the failure of the secondary air pump system vehicle will experience a sudden loss of power and could cause a loss of control. Toyota is aware of the problem but will not issue a recall.
I purchased this vehicle from CarMax in South Sacramento. Before I purchased this vehicle, I asked that the tires be replaced with new as they are original to the vehicle, and there are indications of their being aged, cracked tread, and missing tread on these tires. These tires appear to be the original tires that were purchased when this vehicle was new. The lf tire is reading at 8/32 to the center/and outer tread, the lr tire is reading is 8/32 to the center, and outer tread, the right rear tire is reading 8/32 to the center/and outer tread, and the rf tire is reading 8/32 to the center/and outer tread. The salesman advised that these tires would be replaced with new if I brought them into their service dept after purchasing the vehicle. I was able to bring it back within 3 days, and the CarMax Dealer General Manager, and Service Department manager feels that these tires are safe to drive. I did discuss that these are aged, cracked, and missing tread, and that there is a slight vibration when driving under speed of 75 - 80 mph, and that these tires are unsafe due to their conditions of being aged, cracked, and missing tread, and they refused to replace with new. These tires in my opinion are very unsafe to drive, and this is why I am reporting the conditions to you. They keep mentioning the fact that they are compliant to your standards, and are not in agreeance with their initial advice to bring the vehicle in to have them replaced with new because of their age/and their unsafe condition.
The engine light and the track off warning light came on at the same time as i started the engine when i got off work. on the way home i noticed acceleration was not happening as it should when i pressed the gas pedal. I had a mechanic code it and he said it was the switching valve and the air injection pump which would cost about 1200 dollars to fix. My 2015 Toyota Tacoma only have 35000 miles on it. After during so research i found that this is a problem with other toyota truck owners. This could be a safety problem while driving in a situation where you would need to accelerate in fast moving traffic and maintain speed without slowing the traffic behind you
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that there was brake fluid leaking from the brake booster which was leaking into the cabin. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer to be inspected. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
I came to a complete stop right after a left turn into strip shopping parking lot. My automatic transmission in drive with my left foot on the brake. My truck suddenly took off on its own hitting another vehicle at high speed a few inches away to my right. From police report later it appeared 5 other vehicles were hit. Mine was towed to a city lot and retrieved by my insurance company and totalled.I had fractured mid left clavicle and was put in ambulance to ER. No other injuries I’m aware of to any persons. It occurred a few days prior but in a parking lot with nothing in front of me to crash into so I had time to think to step on brake and move auto transmission to park or neutral. No other times did it occur to me. My husband also drove truck and coincidentally had 3 backup accidents in a row backing out of a parking space. First time that type of accident had happened to him.I told everyone what happened but I couldn’t see witnesses or exchange information because my pain was too severe. According to what I heard others saying or what was written I wasn’t believed. They tricked me once I got to ER and locked me on psych ward like I was suicidal but I never told anyone I was. I think they wanted to keep me in hospital longer for the money because they did nothing but an X-ray and I went the entire night with no pain medicine right after radiologist told me that clavicle fracture is the most painful kind of fracture.
Drivers side rear door latch broke while on high way door came open door open light was off door latch will not work just flips back and forth.
truck frame, welds, seams, control arms, calipers, ball joints etc....all have significant rust. the drivers side rear fender to frame support has completely rusted through. i am stunned by the amount of rust underneath this vehicle. there are several areas close to perforating but no holes. toyota inspected my frame last week and said it was "fine" and to schedule the CRC treatment. the alloy rims are also severely pitted and bubbled due to rust. there is not a component underneath this truck which does not have significant rust . i live in NYS and wash under the truck weekly in the winter. i have used fluid film, rust converter and POR-15 to try to keep the rust away. why is my 6 year old truck rusting faster/more than any of my other cars. this has to be a manufacturing defect.
In the Winter of 2020, we stopped at Walmart to get a new light headlight for the Toyota 2015 Tacoma Truck and it was hard to put it in and THEN the Retainer Spring Clip fell out and was lost. No where to be found! Also the Gasket to the Headlight fell too and was lost. It stayed loose for a while and the Truck didn't pass its Annual Safety Inspection for 2021 because of the Headlight not staying in in September. This last Friday, October 8, 2021 I went to Oursiman Toyota in Chantilly, VA to order the Gasket and pick it up on Saturday, October 9, 2021 thinking that that was all I needed and I could fix the part and the Headlight/Lamp. I didn't relaize that the Retainer Spring Clip didn't come with it and when I called back to Oursiman Toyota today, Monday, October 11, 2021 the Parts Service Guy said I had to order the entire Headlight Assembly to get the Retainer Spring Clip. After doing some research on-line it SEEMS that the majority of people who own a Toyota Tacoma Truck have been having the same issue for many many years as I found out today, Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Web Site, tacomaworld.com. ALSO it is a Safety Issue for your State Safety Inspection for the State of Virginia. I went to Pohanka Chevrolet last week to get an Oil Change and asked them to fix the light BUT they wouldn't touch or fix it either. The Part that holds the Headlight Lamp Assembly is flimsy and doesn't do justice. Corporate Toyota won't or hasn't addressed this issue. They are forcing people to buy the entire Headlight when that isn't the part they need. This is a safety issue! This doesn't serve the public for keeping their car in shape or compliant with State Safety Regulations. There should be a CLASS ACTION SUIT on behalf of the Owners of Toyota Tacoma Trucks the date ranges from the discussion group are various but the Model year my son has is 2015. I BOUGHT ALL 4 OF MY TIRES AT THE TIRE SHOP AND I HAVEN'T DROVE MORE THEN 5,000 MILES ON THEM AND IT SEEMED TO ME THAT THERE WAS A TREAD SEPARATION SO I WENT TO TAKE THEM IN TO CHANGE MY TIRES BECAUSE I HAD WARRANTY ON THEM . WHEN I TOLD ABOUT IT THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING AND I WOULD HAVE TO BUY NEW TIRES AND THE WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER IT . I NOTICED IT WHEN I WAS AT WORK AND GRABBING MY DRINK FROM THE TRUCK . I HAVE A DAUGHTER THAT'S 1 AND SAFETY IS MY CONCERN AND WANT MY FAMILY TO BE SAFE . AND FOR ME TO BUY NEW TIRES WOULD PUT A DENT ON MY POCKET BECAUSE I GOT OTHER BILLS AND PRIORITIES TO PAY . SO MY CONCERN IS THAT SHOULD MY WARRANTY COVER MY TIRES AND IS THERE A MANUFACTORY PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES ? I DID TAKE THEM TO 3 OTHER TIRE SHOPS AND 2 OUT OF 3 SAID IT LOOKS LIKE THERE TREAD SEPARATING AND THE OTHER COULDN'T REALLY TELL HOW THAT WOULD HAPPEN .
MY HORN ONLY WORKS WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I DRIVE STRAIGHT IT DOES NOT WORK
ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS I WAS STATIONARY WITH THE GEAR SHIFT IN DRIVE AND MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BREAK,WHEN THE RPM'S SUDDENLY REVEL UP TO OVER 5000 RPM AND THE TRUCK TRYING TO LURCH FORWARD. I HAD TO RAM THE GEAR SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL TO GET THE RPM'S TO DROP DOWN. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED AT THE BANK PARKING LOT. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO LET A WOMAN CROSS IN FRONT OF ME TO HER CAR. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE ENGINE REVS WAY UP WITH ME TRYING TO HOLD THE TRUCK BACK AS IT WAS LURCHING FORWARD. SHE THOUGHT I WAS TRYING TO RUN OVER HER. I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS MORE SCARED, HER OR ME. I JAMMED IT INTO NEUTRAL AND AFTER A FEW MORE SECONDS THE REVS DROPPED DOWN TO IDLE AGAIN. I'M TAKING IT TO MODESTO TOYOTA TOMORROW TO GET IT LOOKED AT ON AUGUST THE 6TH. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 63000 MILES ON IT. THE OTHER TWO TIMES IT HAPPENED WERE IN MY DRIVEWAY AND AT MY STORAGE UNIT. BOTH TIMES I WAS STATIONARY AS WELL, TRUCK IN DRIVE, FOOT ON BREAK. VERY DANGEROUS!
THE WIPER BLADE COWL OVER TIME HAS COME AWAY FROM WINDOW AND ALLOWS WATER THE GO INTO CABIN AIR FILTER AND LEAK THROUGH TO THE INSIDE OF TRUCK. FROM WHAT I AM LOOKING UP ONLINE MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAS HAD SAME ISSUE WITH SAME YEAR AND ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE EARLY 2000. I FELL AS THIS COULD LEAK TO FAILURE OF THE BLOWER MOTOR OR WIRES UNDER DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN IT RAINS OR WASHING VEHICLE. *TR
SUDDEN ACCELERATION ON FEB 25, 2020. I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT, LOW SPEED (UNDER 10 MPH), RIGHT HAND TURN, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. I PRESSED HARD ON THE BRAKE, LOCKING THE BRAKES UP AND SQUEALING TIRES. THE TRUCK LURCHED TO A STOP. NO DAMAGE, NO OTHER CARS NEAR WHERE I WAS PARKING. THIS WAS A NORMAL ROUTINE STOP AT A LOCAL GAS STATION THAT MAKE SOME MORNINGS BEFORE WORK TO PURCHASE A FOUNTAIN DRINK. UNKNOWN CAUSE - ECU/SOFTWARE, GAS PEDAL SENSORS, ELECTRICAL NOISE ? YEAR, MAKE, MODEL: 2015 TOYOTA TACOMA TRUCK - PURCHASED NEW DEC 2014. VEHICLE HAS BEEN ROUTINELY MAINTAINED AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. NEW TIRES ON FEB 7, 2020 AT 75,329 MILES, SIMILAR SIZE AS ORIGINAL. MILEAGE: 76093 AT TIME OF INCIDENT FYI - I AM AN ENGINEER AT NASA - JOHNSON SPACE CENTER
EMISSIONS AIR PUMP FAILED WITH 48000 MILES. AIR PUMP NOT COVERED BY EMISSIONS WARRANTY IN OHIO. PREVIOUS YEARS(2012) COVERED FOR 10 YEARS 100000 MILES.
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT WORK. I WAS ALMOST AT A STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN SUDDENLY THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I HIT THE BUILDING IN FRONT OF ME AND MY TRUCK WAS TOTALED LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED . MOST PEOPLE SAY WELL YOU MUST HAVE HIT THE ACCELERATOR MY MISTAKE THAT IS NOT THE CASE MY FOOT WAS ALREADY APPLYING THE BRAKE TO STOP A
I AM CONCERNED THAT THE LABEL ON MY TRUCK WHICH CONTAINS INFORMATION ABOUT THE WEIGHT LOAD BEARING IS WRONG, BECAUSE BOTH LEAF SPRINGS ON MY TRUCK BROKE AND I WASN'T CARRYING A HEAVY LOAD, OR MORE THAN WHAT IS RECOMMENDED. HOW DO I PURSUE A DISPUTE WITH A RECALL? TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON A DIRT ROAD WHEN I WAS HAULING AN ATV AND I NOTICED THAT MY BED LOOKED OFF BALANCE.
THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR SOME TIME NOW AND IS RELATED TO MY BREAKS. AT FIRST NOT SO BAD BUT IS BECOMING MUCH WORSE OVER THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. LET ME DESCRIBE AS I DID TO MY TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER LAST WEEK BEFORE MY LAST SERVICE AND MULTI POINT INSPECTION. WHEN I AM ON THE HIGHWAY AND I APPLY THE BREAKS TO SLOW THE VEHICLE THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY JUMPS BACK AND FORTH IN MY HANDS. THE HARDER I APPLY BRAKE PRESSURE THE WORSE IT GETS. I JUST RETURNED FROM A TRIP WITH SOME FRIENDS GOLFING. WE TRAVELED FROM CUMMING, GA TO HUNTSVILLE, AL. THIS WAS CHRONIC AND GETTING A BIT SCARY. WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW AND IT HAS ONLY ABOUT 40,000 MILES. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE VEHICLE BUT THIS IS NOT GOOD. WE (MY WIFE AND I) ARE MAKING A TRIP TO GREEN BAY, WI TO VISIT FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THIS IS SERIOUS AND SHOULD BE FIXED. IT FEELS UNSAFE. OUR CURRENT SERVICE CENTER IS BEAVER TOYOTA OF CUMMING GA. WE ARE LEAVING JUNE 6, 2019 TO TRAVEL TO GREEN BAY..... IT WOULD BE NICE IT WERE FIXED BEFORE WE LEAVE!J MY TELEPHONE (CELL) IS (XXXXXX) PLEASE CALL. USED CERTIFIED 2015, TACOMA, PURCHASED AT TOYOTA OF ORANGE, CA. WITH A PITTED WINDSHIELD. DEALER DIDN'T DISCLOSE. SAFETY ISSUE. DEALER WANTED TO DO A REPAIR IT NOT REPLACE IT. SENSE THEN I HAVE A REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE, BECAUSE IT CREATED A VISIBILITY HAZARD. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. ALL THEIR INSPECTIONS MISS IT. DISCOVERED ON 3-12-19, SEVERAL DAYS LATER AFTER PURCHASE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 75 MPH AND MY DRIVER SIDE AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED SPONTANEOUSLY. I DIDN'T HIT ANYONE OR ANYTHING. IT JUST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON AND CAUSING ME TO ALMOST CRASH INTO NEARBY CARS ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WERE NO ALARM INDICATORS STATING THAT I HAD ANY ISSUES OR THAT I NEEDED TO SERVICE MY TACOMA. WHEN THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE TACOMA STABLE AND I NOTICED THAT I STARTED LOSING SPEED EVEN WHEN I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS. I EVENTUALLY COASTED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY BEFORE COMING TO A DEAD STOP.
WARPED ROTORS AT 30K MILES, NOW AGAIN AT 43K, DEALER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE COMPLAINT, MY 2011 HAD SAME ISSUE BRAKES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY . WHEN DOWNHILL OR HARD BRAKE, STEERING WHEEL WILL VIBRATE WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER CONFIRMED PADS ARE STILL GOOD BUT ROTOR WARPED.
WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, I COLLIDED INTO A LARGE FREE RANGE ANIMAL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. UPON IMPACT NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND AS A RESULT I SUFFERED LIFE THREATENING INJURIES, WAS FLOWN TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL AND HAD OPEN HEART SURGERY TO REPAIR MY AORTA WHICH RUPTURED UPON IMPACT. DUE TO COMPLICATIONS FROM THE SURGERY I HAD TO UNDERGO A SECOND MAJOR SURGERY IN MAY OF 2019, AND AM CURRENTLY RECOVERING. MY PASSENGERS ONLY SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES.

MY PROBLEM IS ON-GOING REGARDING BLIND-SPOTS/POOR VISIBILITY DUE TO OVERSIZED SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY TOYOTA DEALER PARTS DEPT, THE SALEMAN, THE HEAD OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, TOYOTA MANUFACTURING'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT; NON OF THEM ARE ABLE TO HELP ME. THEY REFERRED ME TO YOU. THE OVER-SIZED SIDE MIRRORS & HOUSING CAUSE VERY SERIOUS BLIND SPOTS LOOKING TO EITHER THE DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENGER SIDE, BLOCKING VISIBILITY OVER THE FRONT FENDERS WHEN MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN. I HAVE BECOME VERY PROACTIVE IF I AM ENTERING INTO AN INTERSECTION TO BE AWARE IF THERE IS A VEHICLE OR PERSON IN THE INTERSECTION BEFORE I GET THERE. OTHERWISE I DO NOT SEE THEM IF THEY ARE ALREADYIN THE BLIND SPOT NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE ALMOST HIT SOMEONE, CHILDREN, OR A CAR WHEN TURNING BECAUSE OF THIS. ONLY LUCK AND THE OTHER PERSON'S AWARENESS THAT I DID NOT HIT THEM. UNFORTUNATELY, NO MATTER HOW PROACTIVELY AWARE I AM OF MY SURROUNDINGS, IF A VEHICLE OR PERSON HAS ALREADY ENTERED INTO THE BLIND SPOT OR DEAD ZONE IT DOES NOT MATTER I WILL NOT SEE THEM. IT HAPPENED AGAIN JUST RECENTLY. TOYOTA SAYS THEY HAVE NO OPTIONS FOR REPLACING THE MIRRORS WITH A SMALLER VERSION. I HAVE PUT A CUSHION ON MY SEAT TO RAISE ME, BUT THAT IS OF LITTLE HELP. I NEED A SMALLER PROFILED MIRROR. TOO ME THE NEED FOR SUCH AN OVER SIZED MIRROR AND HOUSING IS UNNECESSARY FOR EVERYDAY DRIVING. IT IS A LIABILITY. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE GET RID OF THE TRUCK, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO HURT SOMEONE. I AM VERY CONCERNED. I HAVE SEEN INTERNET POSTINGS OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THE SALESMAN SAID HE IS AWARE OF THIS BEING AN ISSUE FOR SOME PEOPLE WITH THE PRIUS. PLEASE GIVE A CALL WITH SUGGESTIONS AND HELP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, JACKIE
I BOUGHT A NEW 2015 TACOMA 4X4 AND IT HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT NOW. THERE IS KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM BEHING THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND THEY TOLD ME THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT NEEDS REPLACED. EVIDENTLY THERE IS "PLAY" AROUND WHERE THE RUBER BUSHING IS. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT GOES ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2005 MODELS. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL FOR THIS? THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A MAINTENANCE ISSUE BUT COULD POSSIBLY BECOME A LIFE THREATENING ONE! I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA FOR NOT OWNING UP TO THIS PROBLEM TO REPAIR IT INSTEAD OF PASSING THE COST ON TO THE CONSUMER!
