MANUFACTURER AND DEALERSHIP IS NOT RESPONSIVE IN TRYING TO REMEDY THE AIR BAG ISSUE. I'M RECEIVING MULTIPLE REMINDERS TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED FOR THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALLS. I HAVE 2 OUTSTANDING ISSUES. I CALLED AUTONATION TOYOTA IN HAYWARD, CA. THEY SAID THEY'D CALL ME BACK AS THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PARTS. ALMOST 2 MONTHS LATER, I CALLED TO FOLLOW-UP AS THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT IT SHOWS IN THEIR RECORDS THAT THEY SERVICED MY VEHICLE AND REMEDIED THE ISSUE. IF YOU LOOK AT THE ONLINE RECORDS, IT SHOWS THAT THE 2 RECALLS ARE STILL UNREMEDIED. ALSO, I WOULD KNOW IF I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE REPAIR. I TALKED TO A PERSON NAMED JULIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP.
SIGNIFICANT FRAME CORROSION IN MULTIPLE AREAS TO INCLUDE ONE AREA WITH A HOLE ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FRAME RAIL, AND MOST ACUTELY WHERE THE REAR LEAF SPRING CONNECTS TO THE FRAME WITH ONLY 50% OF THE CONTACT AREA APPEARING TO BE STRUCTURALLY SOUND. DEALER STATES NOTHING THEY CAN DO. TWO AUTO RESTORATION SHOPS STATE THE FRAME IS GOING TO FAIL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
I dont know exactly is the front ball joint or something else but something happen when run and stop the tundra, all the time hear a noise how to something is broke
THE PARK BRAKE SYSTEM USES CABLES TO EXPAND THE REAR BRAKE SHOES. THE SHOES ARE EXPANDED USING A BELLCRANK AND BRACKET. WHEN THE PARK BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE CABLE PULLS THE BELLCRANK AND EXPANDS THE SHOES. THE BELLCRANK AND BRACKET USE A PIVOT PIN. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY - BELLCRANK, BRACKET AND PIN SUFFER EXTRAORDINARY RUST. THE RUST CAUSES THE PARK BRAKE TO FAIL TO RELEASE. THE REAR BRAKES DRAG, AND CAUSE: * PREMATURE WEAR OF REAR BRAKES * LOSS OF FUEL ECONOMY * SHUTTER AND SHAKING FROM THE REAR * AVOIDING USE OF PARK BRAKE SYSTEM TO AVOID THE PROBLEM, FOLKS DON'T USE THE PARK BRAKE. NONE OF THE DRIVERS OF OUR TOYOTA TUNDRA USES THE PARK BRAKE BECAUSE OF THE THE PROBLEMS IT CAUSES. THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA TUNDRAS. TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V741000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED STREET TOYOTA (4500 S. SONCY RD, AMARILLO, TX 79119, (806)355-9846 WHO STATED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
AIR BAG RECALL. ALAN JAY TOYOTA REMOVED ORIGINAL AIR BAG BECAUSE OF RECALL THEN REPLACE AIR GAB WITH A USED SALVAGE AIR BAG. AFTER I COMPLAINED TO MANAGER, THEY TRIED TO CLEAN UP AIR BAG COVER SO IT WOULD MATCH DASH. THEY COULDN'T GET CLEAN OR REMOVE THE STICKY TACKY SUBSTANCE ON COVER. THEY SAID IT WAS A NEW AIR BAG AND THAT WAS THE WAY THEY COME OR MUST OF GOTTEN DIRTY INSTALLING. I SAID I DON'T BELIEVE THAT EXPLANATION SO THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER A NEW AIR BAG. ON A FOLLOW UP CALL TO GET NEW AIR BAG REPLACEMENT THEY SAY NOW THEY WANT TO CLEAN IT UP AGAIN AND PAINT TO MATCH DASH COLOR. THE PHOTOS ARE AFTER THEY CLEANED AIR BAG COVER AND SAID IT WAS BRAND NEW. I DON'T FEEL THIS IS THE WAY THE AIR BAG RECALL WAS INTENDED SO THEREFORE I AM COMPLAINING.
I'M UNABLE TO GET A URGENT SAFETY RECALLED AIRBAG REPLACED ON MY TOYOTA TRUCK. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY ARE ONLY 'ALLOTTED' SO MANY AIRBAGS....
TOOK VEHICLE FOR INSPECTION AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRAME WAS ROTTED OUT. I KNOW THIS IS COMMON WITH SOME OF TOYOTA VEHICLES AND THEY HAVE HAD RECALLS BUT NOT ON MY VEHICLE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 59000 MILES ON IT. TOYOTA WAS OF NO HELP. BASICALLY TOLD ME TOUGH LUCK. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ALSO OF NO HELP. NOT EVEN WILLING TO GIVE ME ANYTHING TOWARD NEW VEHICLE.
2005 TUNDRA WITH MAJOR FRAME RUST. TOOK IT IN DURING THE ORIGINAL RECALL WHERE THEY SPRAYED THE FRAME WITH A "RUST PREVENTATIVE COATING" WHICH FELL OFF IN A YEAR. THE FRAME IS NOW DANGEROUSLY RUSTY AND TOYOTA REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING MORE. TOYOTA NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING ALL OF THE AFFECTED FRAMES, NOT JUST THE ONES THAT DIDN'T PASS THEIR "INSPECTION" BACK WHEN THE ORIGINAL RECALL HAPPENED. THE RUST THROUGH PROBLEM IS A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF TUNDRAS AND TACOMAS ON THE ROAD THAT ARE DANGEROUSLY RUSTY BECAUSE OF TOYOTA'S FAITHLESS RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM. TOYOTA NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO REPLACE THE REMAINING FRAMES THAT WERE PART OF THE RECALL.
I TOOK THIS TRUCK INTO MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER ON JULY 09, 2015 AS PART OF A RECALL FOR A FRAME INSPECTION. THE MILEAGE AT THAT TIME WAS 295,801. THE DEALER SAID THE FRAME WAS IN GOOD SHAPE AND APPLIED A CORROSION INHIBITOR AS PART OF THE PROGRAM. IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR, (2020) I DECIDED TO INSTALL NEW BREAK PADS. WHEN I REMOVED THE WHEEL ON THE DRIVER SIDE, I FOUND A SIGNIFICANT HOLE IN THE FRAME AND CRACKING ALL AROUND THE AREA. IN APPROXIMATELY 5 YEARS AND 17,000 MILES, THIS DEVELOPED. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE TRUCK IN THE WINTER FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS AS THIS BECAME A SECONDARY VEHICLE ONLY FOR SUMMER PROJECT USE AROUND THE HOME. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CORPORATE AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WEREN'T ANY PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO REMEDY THE SITUATION AND I WAS BASICALLY OUT OF LUCK. I RECENTLY TOOK THE TRUNK TO A FRAME & BODY SHOP AND WAS SHOWN MUCH MORE EXTENSIVE FAILURE IN THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES. HE DETERMINED THE FRAME IS UNREPAIRABLE BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF ROT AND THE TRUCK WILL NEED A COMPLETE NEW FRAME. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IN 5 YEARS DRIVING, AVERAGING 3,400 MILES A YEAR THAT THE FRAME WENT FROM GOOD (AS THE DEALER DESCRIBED IT) TO BEING UNDRIVEABLE. TOYOTA NEW THE STEEL WAS BAD IN MANY OF THEIR TRUCKS AND SUV;S BUT HAS REFUSED TO REPAIR ALL THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE BAD STEEL AND LACK OF PROTECTION APPLIED DURING MANUFACTURING. I HAVE HAD TO PULL THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD AS IT HAS BECOME UNSTABLE AND HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE.
FRAME UNDERNEATH AT SWAY BAR AND SURROUNDING AREA IS RUSTED OUT. IT COULD BE A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. THIS IS ON THE RECALL LIST. I AM REQUESTING THIS BE FIXED.
I RECENTLY LEARNED THAT THE FRAME ON MY 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA HAS RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH AND THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN SAFELY. WE NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE OF A REPAIR CAMPAIGN. BOTH TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND CORPORATE REJECTED MY REQUEST TO HAVE THE FRAME REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 56,000.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS 2005 TUNDRA AND LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS MASSIVELY RUSTED AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE TOYOTA FRAME RECALL BUT WAS NEVER REPLACED AND AFTER CONTACTING TOYOTA THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE FRAME. TOYOTA SAID THE FRAME WAS 'TREATED' IN 2015 AND THAT SHOULD'VE TAKEN CARE OF ANY ISSUES. GIVEN THE PHOTOS THIS RUST HAS BEEN BUILDING FOR YEARS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BUT IS EFFECTIVELY USELESS. CONSIDERING IT ONLY HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT THIS LEVEL OF RUST SHOULD NOT BE PRESENT. *TR
AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50+ THE REAR END CONSTANTLY RUMBLES AND SHAKES THE WHOLE TRUCK. AND WHEN PRESSING THE BREAK IT DOES AS WELL. SEAT BELT LOCKS WHEN TRYING TO PUT IT ON. PARKING BRAKE DOESN'T WORK. WHINING AND SQUEAKY NOISE IN THE REAR END. CLUNKING NOISE AT LOWER SPEEDS. ENGINE LIGHT IS ON & WON'T GO OFF. TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR DOESN'T WORK. REAR END SEAL LEAK. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FEELS LIKE IT'S GONNA FALL OUT. TRUCK IS WAY TOO LOUD AND EVERYTHING IS STOCK. AC/HEAT BEING ON MAKES LOUD NOISE.
The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver’s side air bag was inadvertently deployed without warning. There was no impact to the vehicle to cause the driver’s side air bag to deploy. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the manufacturer sent a field technician to inspect the vehicle. The contact was not made aware of the diagnosis. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the hot weather conditions caused the air bag to deploy. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

VEHICLE HAS 175K MILES ON IT, AND HAS SPENT THE MAJORITY OF ITS LIFE IN SC AND MD WHERE ROAD SALT USAGE IS LOW. FREQUENTLY CLEANED UNDERCARRIAGE, AND PERIODIC APPLICATION OF CORROSION PREVENTATIVE COMPOUNDS DID NOT ALTER OUTCOME WHICH IMPLIES POOR MATERIALS AND/OR MANUFACTURING DEFECTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT BALL JOINT BENT UNDERNEATH MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE PART HIMSELF. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE BALL JOINT BEING BENT. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 300,000.
MY 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA THE FRAME HAS ROTTED THROUGH BEHIND THE FRONT TIRE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS A NEW YORK STATE INSPECTION. TOYOTA EXTENDED THE WARRANTY UNTIL 2015 IN 2014. THEY KNOW THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES BUT CURRENTLY THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN ITS PRESENT CONDITION. THERE APPEARS TO BE A LOT OF TOYOTA VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS.

THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND FENDER HIT A CURB. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED HE DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES OR SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOWER BALL BEARING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AS OF YET AWAITING THE PART. THE CONTACT CALLED LOCAL DEALER MAITA TOYOTA OF SACRAMENTO LOCATED AT 2500 AUBURN BLVD, SACRAMENTO, CA 95821, (916) 481-0855 AND NOTIFIED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V013000 (SUSPENSION) BACK IN 2007. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 330,000.
MAIN FRAME OF THE 2005 TUNDRA IS ROTTEN FROM RUST AND A CHUNK OF THE FRAME HAS FALLEN OUT. SEE PICTURE. I CONTACTED LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AS RECALL HAS EXPIRED AND TOYOTA CORPORATE WILL NOT DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THIS TUNDRA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SPRAYED IN 2014 AS PART OF THE "FIX" BUT THE FRAME IS RUSTING AND ROTTING APART. MORE SIGNS OF ROTS ARE VISIBLE ON THE FRAME.
I OWN A 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH JUST 60,000 MILES. IN 2014 TOYOTA WAS ALLOWED TO PUT A BAND-AID ON A PROBLEM THAT NEEDED A TOURNIQUET - APPLYING A RUST CONVERTER COATING TO A FRAME THAT, BECAUSE OF THEIR FAILURE TO MANUFACTURER IT PROPERLY, DESERVED REPLACING. I WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA (CASE NUMBER [XXX]) THAT BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS OWNER TOOK THE BAND-AID THEY WERE NO LONGER LIABLE UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT FORCED THEM VIA FURTHER GOVERNMENT SAFETY RECALL ACTIONS TO DO MORE. MY HOPE IS BY WRITING THIS THAT THE GOVERNMENT CAN BE PROACTIVE AND SOLVE THIS SAFETY CONCERN BEFORE THEY HAVE TO COLLECT ENOUGH DEATH AND ACCIDENT STATISTICS TO TAKE NOTICE OF THIS ISSUE. NOT ONLY THAT, I SEE THAT TOYOTA IS BEING OFFERED THE SAME BAND-AID SOLUTION ON A NUMBER OF NEW MODELS WITH THE SAME ISSUE - PROVING THAT THEY DIDN'T LEARN ANY LESSON JUST HOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH ACTUAL MURDER. THE RESULT WILL BE MORE VEHICLES IN 5 YEARS IN WORSE SHAPE DUE TO THE LENIENT RECONCILIATION MANDATED BY THE GOVERNMENT. DO NOT PUT MORE LIVES AT RISK IN ORDER TO SAVE A MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES BOTTOM LINE. THE FRAME WHICH IS KNOWN TO BE PRONE TO EXCESSIVE, PREMATURE RUST CORROSION BECAUSE THE FRAMES WERE NOT PROPERLY PREPARED AND TREATED AGAINST RUST CORROSION WHEN THEY WERE MANUFACTURED SHOULD ALL HAVE TO BE REPLACED UNDER THIS RECALL TO PROTECT AMERICAN DRIVERS. THIS EXCESSIVE RUST CORROSION COMPROMISES THE VEHICLES' SAFETY, STABILITY, AND CRASH-WORTHINESS BECAUSE IMPORTANT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS, ENGINE MOUNTS, TRANSMISSION MOUNTS, AND BODY MOUNTS ANCHORED TO THE VEHICLES' FRAMES ARE AT RISK OF FAILURE. DO YOU WANT THIS VEHICLE (PICTURE ATTACHED) PASSING YOUR FAMILY ON A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY, BECAUSE I CAN TELL YOU THERE ARE A LOT, AND SOON TO BE EVEN MORE, DOING IT EVERY DAY. UPON CLOSE INSPECTION (VEHICLE PARKED) THE TRUCK HAS SEVERE (MORE THAN AVERAGE) CORROSION/ PERFORATION (RUST) OF THE MAIN FRAME/ CHASSIS. TOYOTA HAD UNDERCOATED THE VEHICLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE ALTHOUGH THIS ONLY MASKED THE UNDERLYING CORROSION, ALLOWING FOR THE CORROSION TO GO UNNOTICED. THE FRAME HAS CURRENTLY PERFORATED (VISIBLE HOLES/ RUST IN THE INTEGRAL STRUCTURE). THE VEHICLES MAIN STRUCTURE IS COMPROMISED DO TO THE POOR MATERIAL/ EXCESSIVE CORROSION. THE VEHICLES SAFETY MAY BE SEVERELY COMPROMISED.
I WENT TO HAVE MY 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA INSPECTED AND IT FAILED DUE TO FRAME CORROSION CAUSING FRACTURE AND SPLINTERING OF THE FRAME SUPPORTS. THE FRAME OF MY 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA HAS RUSTED THROUGH AT 4 POINTS, FRACTURING AND SPLINTERING AT 3 OF THE POINTS OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE CAN NOT PASS THE VIRGINIA INSPECTION AND IS NOW UNDRIVEABLE. IT IS NOT SAVE TO HAUL OR TOW ANYTHING, THE TWO MAIN FUNCTIONS OF MY TRUCK.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1912111347. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000. *TR
2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB. WHEN STATIONARY ON COLD START: VEHICLE PRODUCES A LOUD NOISE AND ADDITIONAL CARBON MONOXIDE/EXHAUST, CAUSING ADDITIONAL DANGER WHEN STARTING IN A GARAGE. WHEN IN MOTION: TRUCK OPERATES AS INTENDED UNTIL ACCELERATION IS ATTEMPTED, CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WHEN MERGING ONTO HIGHWAYS, DRIVING UP AN INCLINE, OR ANY OTHER DRIVING SITUATION WHERE THE GAS APPLICATION IS NECESSARY. WHEN IN MOTION: VENTING AND INTERIOR AIR CONTROLS CANNOT BE USED BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF EXHAUST THAT WILL SPILL INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT IS WIDELY KNOWN TO THE TOYOTA COMMUNITY, AND TO DRIVERS OF TOYOTA TUNDRAS IN PARTICULAR. FRAME IS RUSTING , AND WILL NOT PASS PA STATE INSPECTION.
ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2019, MY 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA (PURCHASED NEW IN 2004) DID NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO RUST HOLES ON THE FRAME; MILEAGE WAS 81,147. I LOOKED UP VIN NUMBER ON NHTSA AND THERE IS ONLY ONE RECALL DATED OCTOBER 2019 NOT FULFILLED FOR MY VEHICLE. A LOCAL DEALER INVESTIGATED MY VIN NUMBER, AND TOLD ME THERE WAS A D ZERO D/LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN (EXPIRED 2015) REGARDING RUST PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY TOYOTA ABOUT THIS. I HAVE NOT MOVED/CHANGED ADDRESS SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, AND I DID RECEIVE AND FULFILL THE 2016 AND 2007 RECALL NOTICES. I CALLED NHTSA AND TOLD THE WOMAN ON PHONE ABOUT THE D0D/LSC AND SHE FOUND IT FOR ME UNDER 'MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATIONS'. I HAVE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF IT AND HAVE ALL OF MY SERVICE RECORDS. I EXPECTED IT TO LAST AND AM DISAPPOINTED TOYOTA DID NOT NOTIFY ME. I AM REQUESTING NHTSA MAKE THESE LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGNS FOR VEHICLES VISIBLE WITH THE OTHER RECALLS. THE FRAME RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT IT WILL NOT PASS A STATE INSPECTION. THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN IN FORWARD MOTION, WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
FRAME HAS PREMATURELY RUSTED RESULTING IN THE SWAY BAR MOUNTING BRACKET TO BREAK OFF. FRAME IS CLOSE TO COMPLETE FAILURE WHICH WOULD RESULT IN FUEL AND BRAKE LINES SEVERING WITH CATASTROPHIC RESULT.
WHILE DRIVING TRUCK ON PUBLIC ROAD, I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND LOOKED LIKE THE SPARE TIRE WAS LOOSE. REMOVED THE SPARE TIRE AND PLACED IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK AND FURTHER INSPECTED THE REAR CROSS MEMBER. IT APPEARED TO BE CRACKED. CALLED TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE TRUCK FRAME INSPECTED SPECIFICALLY THE REAR CROSS MEMBER. I HAVE ATTACHED THE WORK ORDER FROM HICKORY TOYOTA WHICH STATES DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING VEHICLE. HAVE ALSO ATTACHED A COUPLE OF PICTURES WHERE I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR SHACKLE BRACKET ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE AND ALSO THE RACK PORTION OF THE RACK& PINION STEERING. I HAVE ATTACHED THE INVOICE FOR THE REAR BRACKET AND CAN SUPPLY AN INVOICE FOR THE RACK IF NEEDED.

I believe my Toyota frame is rusted. The truck has 56,000 miles. The front wheel has a noticeable problem with the camber - it can not be driven safely.
DURING ANNUAL INSPECTION ON JULY 19, 2019, RUST HOLES FOUND IN THE FRAME. ONE HOLE WAS ALMOST 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER. ADDITIONAL PERFORATIONS FOUND NEAR THE LEAF SPRING AREA. VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO LSC IN 2014 AND TREATED WITH CRC COMPOUND. THIS JUST APPEARS TO HAVE DELAYED THE ONSET OF THE FRAME CANCER. TOYOTA WAS NOTIFIED. NO SUPPORT FROM THEM - THEY ARE SAYING IT IS MY PROBLEM.

Ever since I got it 2 years ago the steering has not been right with random vibration from the steering wheel to feeling like im trying harder to make it go straight. And also a clunk at low speed turns/ vibration on freeway. I was told the rack was going so I replaced it with new poly bushings and tie rods. Helped a little but no, got new rims and tires and no difference still vibration on freeway. It's weird if I pull down on the steering wheel it makes it less worse. Also it feels like all this is wearing my power steering pump as it's the only thing covered in oil under my hood. I'm. Seriousy scared to drive it on the freeway cause of the over correcting and vibration. I only have 82k on it. When I got it from the dealership nothing was said. I'm the second owner.I still have the original rack but the problem is still there. Service was done by independent shop. Airbag stickers on passenger visor are gone and passenger airbag cover sticks out more the it should I think. I received the car facts from the dealership and nothing is in there for all the recalls. As the website says there are none pending. I would like to get a print out of ALL recall repairs if possible. I still have the car fax from them.

RECENTLY EXPERIENCED LOSS OF BRAKES AND CRASH INTO GARAGE. VEHICLE INSPECTED BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND FOUND 2 PERFORATED AND RUSTED BRAKE LINES. SCRAPING AWAY THE UNDERCOATING UNCOVERED OTHER CORROSION IN VARIOUS DEGREES. DETERMINED THAT SPRAY UNDERCOATING CAME WAY TO LATE AS TRUCK ALREADY HAD 9 YEARS OF CORROSION. UNDERCOATING ONLY HID THE PROBLEM. SUBMITTED A CLAIM WITH TOYOTA WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE.
SEPT 2014 MY TRUCKS FRAME WAS RECALLED FOR THE RUST PROBLEM. THE FRAME WAS SCALED AND SPRAYED. MILEAGE 134,500. 6/2018 WITH MILEAGE 164,301 DEALER ADVISES ME FRAME IS GETTING RUSTY! I SAID YOU SCALED AND COATED IT IN 2014 ISN'T IT WARRANTED? THERE ANSWER WAS THAT ENDED LAST MONTH. NOW IT'S A YEAR LATER JUNE 2019 IT ONLY HAS 171,000 AND ONLY 36,500 MILES SINCE THE FRAME WAS COATED. THE TOYOTA DEALER FAILED THE NH STATE INSPECTION. I AM VERY UPSET AS I HAVE SPENT OVER $4500 IN THE PAST 18 MONTHS ON OTHER REPAIRS AND ON GONE 8K MILES. I NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE THOSE REPAIRS IF I WAS ADVISE HOW BAD IR HOW FAST THE RUST WAS GOING TO MAKE MY TRUCK UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW. TOOK MY TRUCK TO MY MECHANIC TO GET SOME BRAKE WORK DONE. WHEN HE PULLED THE TIRE OFF OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HE NOTICED A CRACK IN THE FRAME. AFTER THAT THE POWER STEERING ROTTED AWAY WHICH GRAPPONE TOYOTA REPLACED AND AT THAT TIME I BROUGHT THE RUST TO THERE ATTENTION AGAIN . THEY SAID IT LOOKED NORMAL AND NOT TO WORRY. AFTER THAT I KEPT MY EYE ON IT. BROUGHT IT TO GET MY ANNUAL INSPECTION. THE TECH BROUGHT ME OUT SHOWED ME THE RUST AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD 1 OR 2 YEARS LEFT BEFORE THE FRAME WOULD NEED TO REPLACED OR REPAIRED DUE TO RUST . THE TUNDRA HAS 155.XXX MILES ON IT GETS WASHED REGULARLY . CONTACTED TOYOTA USA THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT ME. TOYOTA OF KEEN CALLED ME AND TOLD BE THE TRUCK WAS OLD AND THE PERSON WHOM I SPOKE WITH TOLD ME IT WAST HIS FAULT BECAUSE HE WASN'T THERE AND THE PROBLEM AREAS I DESCRIBED TOYOTA DIDN'T PAY THE TO SPRAY PROPERLY, ( PARTS PEOPLE CANT SEE UNLESS THEY REALLY LOOK) BUT I COULD DRIVE IT IN AND THEY COULD LOOK AT IT .
