WHEN COMING TO A STOP, I FEEL A CLUNK AND AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT FEELS LIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE BUMPS THE REAR BUMPER. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK BUT TOYOTA DEALER SAYS THAT'S NORMAL, NOTHING WRONG. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. *TR
2007 TUNDRA SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR TO ALLOW VEHICLE TO ROLL. *TR
I HAVE A DOUBLE CAB LIMITED EDITION HAVE MADE COMPLAINTS FOR OVER 10 MONTHS NOW ABOUT THE TERRIBLE BED BOUNCE PROBLEMS. I BOUGHT IT FOR MY SERVICE BUSINESS &PLEASURE. TOY IS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN! THE FIRST THING PEOPLE SAY IS,WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE ROADS? KIDS HATE IT. MY DOG HATES THE TRUCK! SHE CAN'T GET COMFORTABLE WITH THE BED BOUNCE. BY THE END OF THE DAY I AM AT DRIVER FATIGUE STAGE! YOU CAN DRIVE 60-70 BUT NOT FOR LONG! THIS TRUCK FEELS EVERY LITTLE BUMP NOOK AND CRANNY ON ALL ROADS. I TRIED GOING UP TO 80-90 MILES AN HOUR TO REMOVE THE BOUNCE, IT'S STILL THERE. GOING SLOWER LIKE 50 MPH OR LESS DOESN'T DO MUCH. I'D RATHER DRIVE A HORSE AND BUGGY WITH SOLID WOOD WHEELS. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW DISAPPOINTING IT IS TO DRIVE MY TRUCK. NOBODY LIKES BEING IN THIS TRUCK. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER OF TOYOTA WHO DROVE ONE. HIS WIFE MADE HIM RETURN HIS TRUCK BECAUSE OF IT'S TERRIBLE RIDE AND HE AGREED. TOOK MY TRUCK TO GMC DEALER TO TRADE IT, THEY HAVE GOTTEN WIND OF IT'S PROBLEM AND ARE NOT WILLING TO TRADE IT IN. GOOD LUCK IS ALL THEY SAY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS I'M HAVING A BED BOUNCE SENSATION, IT'S NOT THE FRAME, IT'S NOT THE SUSPENSION, PUT 10 BAGS OF CEMENT IN THE BACK, TOW A LOAD, THIS WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER RIDE! I CAN'T BELIEVE I SPEND OVER 40,000! I TOOK IT TO A SPECIALIST AND WAS TOLD IT'S THE FRAME! NOT MUCH CAN BE DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS TOYOTA IS HAVING. ALL I KNOW IS I HAVE A TRUCK I DON'T WANT AND CAN'T RECOUP MY LOSSES. HOW UNSAFE IS THIS PROBLEM? WHY IS THE PUBLIC THE GUINEA PIG THIS DAY IN AGE WHEN WE ARE SO ADVANCED? I'LL BET THEY NEVER TEST DROVE THE TRUCK OTHER THAN A TEST TRACK OR THEY DID VIRTUAL TESTING ONLY. IF I CAME UP WITH SOMETHING NEW AND SOLD IT TO MY CUSTOMERS IN THE SAME FASHION LIKE TOYOTA DID TO ME. THEN GAVE THEM A RUN AROUND ABOUT WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON. I WOULD BE IN COURT SUED AND OUT OF BUSINESS TOYOTA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING FAST TIRED OF THEM AVOIDING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB SHORT BED TRUCK. THE TRUCK HAS A REOCCURING RESONATING BOUNCE WHEN DRIVING ON CONCRETE ROADS BETWEEN 70 AND 80 MPH. THE BOUNCE IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AND CAN BECOME SEVERE. ONLY A DRAMATIC CHANGE IN SPEED WILL STOP THE BOUNCING. SEVERAL ON LINE FORUMS ARE CALLING THIS PROBLEM "BED BOUNCE"
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, PARTICULARLY ON CERTAIN CONCRETE SURFACES, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BOUNCED VIOLENTLY AND OSCILLATED. TOYOTA STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THERE WAS CURRENTLY NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA TWO MONTHS AGO. WITH LESS THAN 9,000 MILES ON BRIDGESTONE DUELER TIRES, THE LEFT REAR TIRE PRETTY MUCH DISINTEGRATED WHILE TRAVELING ON I10 AT 75 MILES PER HOUR. THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE MAIN PART OF THE TIRE. THERE WAS NO BANG AND THE TIRES WERE PROPERLY INFLATED. IT APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OR A DESIGN FLOW. I KEPT THE REMAINS OF THE TIRE AS WELL AS THE OTHER THREE TIRES AND PURCHASED A SET OF 4 NEW TIRES OF A DIFFERENT BRAND. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHILE DRIVING 20-30 MPH, THE VEHICLE RODE EXTREMELY BUMPY. THE DEALER BALANCED THE TIRES AND STATED THAT HE NEEDED TO PUT MORE MILES ON THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE WHEELS WERE DAMAGED. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE REAR AXLES CAUSED THE FAILURE. AS OF APRIL 18, 2008, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,886.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, A LOUD BANGING NOISE WAS EXHIBITED FROM THE ENGINE AREA AS THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ATTACHED TO A TRAILER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF THIRD GEAR ON AND THEN FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF FOURTH GEAR LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
INSTRUMENTS ARE ILLEGIBLE IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT. THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT HAS CREATED THIS UNSAFE CONDITION SINCE NEW. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE VEHICLE HAS BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE DUELER A/T 693 TIRES, SIZE PT27555R20 (NA). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT CONSULTED THE TIRE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRE WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THEY REPLACED THE TIRE WITH A DIFFERENT ONE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE DEALER WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IF HE PURCHASED ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THEM, THEY WOULD GIVE HIM $700 OFF THE PRICE. THE CONTACT REFUSED THEIR OFFER, AND JUST WANTED THE TIRES REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BECAUSE THE TIRE WAS BLOWN TO SHREDS AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE, THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000.
1.EXCESSIVE CAB SHAKE, WOBBLE AND JERKINESS WHENEVER DRIVING OVER CONCRETE PAVED ROADS AT VARIETY OF SPEEDS. 2. CALLED DEALER WHO SUGGESTED: TIRE PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT AND ADDING 150 LBS OF WEIGHT TO TRUCK BED. AFTER IMPLEMENTING ABOVE, TRUCK RIDE IMPROVED SLIGHTLY BUT STILL UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA DC 5.7L LIMITED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND I WENT TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN I GOT INTO THE NEXT LANE AND ANOTHER CAR CHANGED LANES IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS FORCED TO SLAM THE BRAKES. THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED AND SLOWED VEHICLE DOWN , BUT THE TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS BEING PUSHED FORWARD... BY THIS TIME I HAD ENOUGH ROOM IN FRONT OF ME, SO I LET OFF THE BRAKES AND THE TRUCK JUMPED LIKE I WAS HOLDING MY FOOT ON THE GAS. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AGAIN. I SLAMMED ON THE Y BRAKES AGAIN AND THE ABS SYSTEM KICKED IN, AND THE TRUCK WAS STILL TRYING TO ACCELERATE, BUT I HELD THE BRAKE HARD ENOUGH THAT I DIDN'T HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AT THIS POINT I HAD TO DO SOMETHING. I STUCK THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. WHEN I GOT STOPPED I HAD 3 LIGHTS ON ., BRAKE, VSC, AND A PICTURE OF A CAR WITH 2 CROOKED LINES ON IT. I BELIEVED IT WAS TRACTION CONTROL. BY NOW THE TRUCK WAS NORMAL AGAIN BUT THE LIGHTS WERE ON SO I TOOK THE TRUCK STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER . *AK
I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA CREWMAX SR5 WITH THE 5.7L V8. I HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN Y APPLYING THE PARKING BRAKE THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH FORCE TO HOLD THE TRUCK IN PLACE ON ITS OWN WHEN ON A HILL. I FIRST NOTICED THIS WHEN I APPLIED THE PARKING BRAKE WITH THE TRUCK IN DRIVE , BUT NOT APPLYING ANY PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL, AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO DRIVE FORWARD WITH VERY LITTLE RESISTANCE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS HOW THE ENGINEERS DESIGNED IT. THEY DID AGREE TO TIGHTEN IT DOWN FURTHER AT MY REQUEST, AND WHEN THEY TRIED TO SHOW ME THAT IT WAS FIXED, IT AGAIN BEGAN TO DRIVE FORWARD AND THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT WAS TO APPLY THE NORMAL BRAKE. I WAS THEN AGAIN TOLD THAT IT WAS ONLY FOR ASSISTANCE, AND THAT I SHOULD NOT EXPECT THE PARKING BRAKE TO HOLD THE TRUCK IN PLACE ON ITS OWN. I ASKED HOW IT COULD ASSIST WHEN IT COULDN'T EVEN HANDLE IT ON ITS OWN, AND WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE TRUCK HAS 381 HP AND THAT'S A LOT OF HP FOR THE TRUCK TO STOP, AND WHEN I SAID THAT IT DIDN'T HAVE 381 HP AT 600 RPMS I WAS LAUGHED AT AND TOLD AGAIN THAT IT WA SONLY FOR ASSISTANCE. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA 4X4. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A VERY NOTICEABLE BOUNCING SENSATION COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURS WHEN THE SPEED EXCEEDS 55 MPH AND BEGAN WEEKS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. THE VEHICLE BECOMES DISCONNECTED WITH THE ROAD. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND COULD NOT LOCATE ANY FAILURES; HOWEVER, THEY SUGGESTED THAT THE TIRES COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE SUSPENSION CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BOUNCE UP AND DOWN VIOLENTLY. THROUGH RESEARCH, HE DISCOVERED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 19,600.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHILE IDLING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON, THE RPMS WOULD SUDDENLY INCREASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 500.
BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/T TIRES. I LEASED A NEW 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/T TIRES. TWO MONTHS AGO AND WITH LESS THAN 5,000 MILES HAD A SEVERE SIDE WALL BLOW OUT...SURVEYED THE WEB AND DISCOVERED SIMILAR OCCURRENCES... THANK GOD THE SPARE HAPPENED TO BE A MICHELIN. CAN'T WAIT TO RID MY VEHICLE OF THIS TRASH....YOU HAVE DUG A DEEPER HOLE IN CONSUMER COFIDENCE FIRESTONE /BRIDGESTONE! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN MAY OF 2007. IN JUNE OF 2007 WHILE HE WAS DRIVING 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND ATTEMPTING TO PASS A VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. HE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY PUTTING THE GEAR IN NEUTRAL AND DRIVING ON THE SIDE WALK TO AVOID A CRASH IN ORDER TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. HE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE THREE TIMES. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO TOYOTA DEALERS WHO STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE; YET, THE FLOOR MAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. HE ADVISED THE DEALERS THAT HE DID NOT HAVE THE FLOOR MAT IN HIS VEHICLE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GMC DEALER WHO STATED THAT IT COULD BE A COMPUTER FAILURE. HE ALSO ASKED THE DEALER IF HE COULD TRADE THE VEHICLE WHEN HE EXPERIENCED THE FIRST FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000. UPDATED 02/19/10. *LJ UPDATED 07/26/10*JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS STUCK. THERE WAS EXCESSIVE FORCE APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND THE PEDAL RELEASED. THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR MAT WAS REMOVED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA CREWMAX. WHEN DRIVING ON CONCRETE FREEWAYS THE BED OF THE TRUCK BOUNCES VERY VERY BAD WORSE THAN ANY OTHER TRUCK I HAVE EVER RIDDEN IN. I SOMETIMES FEEL UNSAFE LIKE MAYBE ITS BOUNCING SO MUCH THAT IT COULD BE DANGEROUS IF I NEED TO STOP SUDDENLY. I DON'T THINK THE TIRES COME OFF THE GROUND BUT THE VIBRATION IS SO BAD THAT TALKING BECOMES DIFFICULT. *TR
TOYOTA CORPORATION REFERS TO THIS ISSUE AS "BED BOUNCE". THE COMPLAINT IS THAT AT SPEED OF 50-65 & 70 MPH, THE 2007 TUNDRA PICK-UP VIBRATES AND BOUNCES TO THE POINT OF UNCOMFORTABLE AND WHAT I FEEL IS UNSAFE. IT IS AS IF ALL4-WHEELS ARE OUT OF BALANCE. NOW TOYOTA CORPORATION IS ADMITTING TO ME THAT THAY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ARE TRYING TO COME UP WITH A FIX, HOWEVER ITS BEEN 6 MONTHS AND STIILL NO FIX FROM TOYOTA CORPORATION. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TO THEM ( THE DEALER REPAIR SHOPS) TWO TIMES TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND HAVE AN APPOINMENT WITH TOYOTA CORPORATE ENGINEERS ON NOVEMBER 1ST 2007. I AM ALSO SEEKING LEGAL COUNSEL, HOWEVER I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS A INDIVIDUAL LEMON LAW ISSUE OR A CLASS ACTION PROBLEM, AND I REALLY DO NOT CARE I JUST WANT TOYOTA TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK DUE TO THE FACT IT IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND IT WILL TAKE A RE-ENGINEERING OF SUSPENSION TO REPAIR, AND THAT IS BIG DEAL THAT TAKES A LONG TIME TO FIX. SINCE DAY ONE THAT I HAVE PURCHASED THE TRUCK I HAVE COMPLAINED THAT THE BRAKES DON'T SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN AS IT SHOULD. THAT YOU HAVE TO PUMP IT AT LEAST ONE TIME FOR THEM TO ACT NORMAL WHEN SLOWING DOWN. SOME TIMES IT IS OVER HALF WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE YOU STOP. AND THAT IS WITH OUT PULLING A LOAD. WHEN I TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP (JAY WOLFE TOYOTA OF K.C) WAS TOLD THAT "IT WAS MAGIC BRAKES" , I HAVE HAD TO GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF OLD WHERE YOU GIVE IT A PUMP THEN IT WORKS. I HAVE ALMOST REAR ENDED SEVERAL PEOPLE. THESE BRAKES ARE DANGEROUS. AND I PAID $50,000. FOR THAT. THEY DID NOT CONSIDER THIS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT MAYBE I NEEDED TO GET USE TO THE TRUCK. *TR
THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2007 TUNDRA SUSPENSION THAT CAUSES A MECHANICAL RESONANCE ON VARIOUS CONCRETE ROADS. THIS RESULTS IN A "SHAKING", "BOUNCING", "WOBBLING" THAT IS SEEMINGLY SEVERE ENOUGH TO CAUSE INJURIES IN YOUNG OR ELDERLY PASSENGERS AT LEGAL SPEED LIMITS. FURTHERMORE THE WOBBLING COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENTS DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I AM CERTAIN THAT IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED, IT WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO INJURY. THE DEALER HAS STATED THAT THIS IS "NORMAL". HOWEVER, USING ANY GOOD JUDGMENT AT ALL, I WOULD NOT CONSCIOUSLY EXPOSE AN INFANT PASSENGER TO THIS "NORMAL" WOBBLE. THIS OCCURS ON ROADS THAT CONSIST OF CONCRETE SLABS. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IS AN AREA WITH SUCH HIGHWAYS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE ON I-5, I-405, I-110 TO NAME A FEW. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD VEER TOWARDS THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED TOYOTA DEALER FOR AN ALIGNMENT. AFTER REPAIRS, THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRES EXHIBITED PREMATURE WEAR. THE DEALER ADVISED THERE WERE NO FAILURES WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE TIRES WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION BUT AGAIN, THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES WITH 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA: 1. TOWING MIRRORS VIBRATE, PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TOYOTA CASE # 200704230738. MIRRORS ARE UNUSABLE ABOVE 40MPH DUE TO VIBRATION. 2. BED BOUNCE IS SO SEVERE ON SOME ROADS, PARTICULARLY I-10 BETWEEN INDIO AND LOS ANGELES, THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CARRY ON A NORMAL CONVERSATION. DEALER RESPONSE TO BOTH ISSUES HAS BEEN THEY ALL DO THIS, SO THEY CANNOT MAKE A FIX UNTIL TOYOTA COMES UP WITH A SOLUTION. INTERNET REPORTS PROVE THAT THE DEALER IS CORRECT: ALL TUNDRAS HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. THUS THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE DEALER, BUT IS INDICATIVE OF FIRST-YEAR PRODUCTION PROBLEMS. HOPEFULLY TOYOTA CAN RESOLVE THIS TO AVOID INVOKING LEMON LAW PROTECTION. *TR
BED BOUNCES AND SHAKES EXCESSIVELY. TOYOTA IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT BUT REFUSES TO CORRECT IT. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE VEHICLE INSTABILITY AND DRIVER FATIGUE, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON CONCRETE ROADWAYS. *TR
I JUST NOTICED OTHERS HAD COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE TOO ON YOUR SITE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER AND THEY HAD NO FIX EXCEPT TO REMOVE ONE OR THE OTHER ALTHOUGH THE STANDARD CLIP DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH THEIR MUDDER MATS. I WAS ENTERING THE HIGHWAY FROM THE RAMP AND PRESSED DOWN TO ACCELERATE TO MOVE INTO TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AS HARD AND FAST AS IT COULD. I FOUND MYSELF HAVING TO WEAVE THROUGH TRAFFIC LIKE I WAS IN A NASCAR RACE. WHEN I FINALLY FOUND A CLEAR PATH TO THE SHOULDER I SWERVED ONTO IT AND SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. IT WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN AND I COULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. I HAD TO BE GOING ABOUT 60 AT THE TOP OF THE ONRAMP AND WELL OVER 100, PROBABLY FASTER, WHEN I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO SHUT IT OFF. I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK TO TAKE A BREAK AND CALM DOWN AND UPON RETURNING TO THE TRUCK I NOTICED THAT THE "MUDDER MATS" I BOUGHT FROM A TOYOTA SITE SLIPPED FORWARD ENOUGH TO WEDGE ITSELF UNDER THE GAS PEDAL. I STAY AWARE OF THE POSITION OF THE MAT MORE FREQUENTLY NOW AND KEEP IT SLID BACK BUT THERE IS NO RESTRAINT FOR IT THAT WILL GO THRU BOTH THE FLOOR LINER THAT PROTECTS MORE OF THE FLOOR AREA AND THE MUDDER MAT ON TOP OF IT. I BOUGHT BOTH AT THE TUNDRA PARTS SITE. I HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE SOME WARNING FOR OTHERS MADE BIG AND DRAMATIC ENOUGH TO BRING ATTENTION TO THIS PROBLEM TO AVOID HAVING THIS HAPPEN TO ANOTHER. EXCESSIVE BOUNCING ON FREEWAYS SPEEDS 45-70 SOME WORSE THAN OTHERS (91FREEWAY EAST AROUND CORONA, CA )IS GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE BOUNCE I HAVE HAD TRUCKS ALL MY LIFE SO SOME BOUNCE IS UNDERSTANDABLE. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN MARCH 07 THEY TOLD ME TOYOTA WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION IN JANUARY 08 I CONTACTED TOYOTA THROUGH THERE WEB SITE AND THEY REPLIED THEY HAD NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. MAY BE THEY FIXED IT SINCE THEN ON THE 08 BUT THIS IS MORE THAN A LITTLE BOUNCE. BOUNCING LIKE IT DOSE WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN I HAVE TO COME TO FAST STOP ?AND THE EXTRA VIBRATION CAN'T BE GO FORTUNATELY I DON,T HAVE A INFANT. 2007 CREWCAB SHAKES RATTLES AND VIBRATES SO VIOLENTLY THAT IT FEELS AS THOUGH IT MAY FALL APART, THE DASHBOARD BECOMES A BLUR, IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND AFTER NUMEROUS CALL TO TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. *TR
BOUGHT MY TUNDRA IN 07 . IN 09 OF JAN. I TOOK IT TO TOYOTA STATING AFTER BRAKING IT FELT LIKE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. TOYOTA REPLACED THE DRIVESHAFT. IN OCT. OF 09 IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO TOYOTA THEY SAID THEY REPLACED IT ONCE & WOULD NOT REPLACE IT AGAIN & THAT IT WOULD KEEP HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I'VE EMAILED TOYOTA , CALLED CUSTOMER CARE THEY SAID ITS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TUNDRA. I ONLY HAVE 42000 MILES ON TRUCK. IF I WOULD OF KNOWN THIS I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE LEMON LAW WAS ONLY 2 YEARS & THAT WOULDNT HELP. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE. *TR
MY 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA HESITATES WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED AT A LIGHT MAKING A TURN OR SLOWLY ROLLING AROUND A CORNER AND MAKING A SHARP TURN. Undercoating of vehicle was not properly installed causing the frame to rust out creating a serious safety concern as the fuel tank can fall from the vehicle due to extensive rust. Toyota is aware of this situation however refuses to repair the problem.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA AND WHILE DRIVING CROSS COUNTRY WITH MY WIFE AND 2YR DAUGHTER THE TRUCK AUTOMATICALLY WENT INTO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH AND STOPPED DEAD ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.TROUBLE CODES WERE PULLED AND FOUND TO BE AIR INJECTION VALVES FOR EMISSION CONTROL UPON STARTUP ONLY .THIS WAS MIDWAY THRU A 2300 MILE TRIP.TRUCK HAS 67000 MILES ON IT AND IT OUT OF WARRANTY SO COST TO ME IS BETWEEN 4000-5000 $.TRUCK SHOULD NOT ENTER LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING AS IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURS. *TR
2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS. CONSUMER STATES THAT OTHER DRIVERS WOULD FLASH THEIR HIGH BEAMS AT HIM. DEALER ADJUSTED THEM FOR COMPANY REQUIREMENT AND THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT THEY COULD DO. *KB THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIMING/BRIGHTNESS OF THE HEADLIGHTS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S HEADLIGHT POINTED TOWARD ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT POINTED TOWARD THE SIDE. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM. *JB

TOYOTA SAFETY FEATURE MALFUNCTION *GR THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES FAILED, THE RADIO WAS REPLACED TWICE, THE TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS INOPERATIVE, AND THE ABS ACTUATOR MALFUNCTIONED. WHEN THE CONSUMER WENT TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED, HE INFORMED THE DEALER THE VSC LIGHT WAS ON. *JB
2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. CONSUMER STATES CRUISE CONTROL DOES ENGAGE AND THEN WILL NOT DISENGAGE BRAKES. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WOULD NOT HOLD AT STOP SIGNS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE HAD ELECTRICAL SHORTS IN THE WIRING SUCH AS; THE HEADLIGHTS, CLOCK, CIGARETTE LIGHTER, ALARM AND DOOR LOCKS. THE SEAT BELTS WOULD NOT ALWAYS LATCH. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT ACTIVATE, THERE WAS A SEVERE SHAKE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE, THE STEERING WOULD ACT ERRATIC AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHILE BACKING OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY.. *JB
