Vehicle was in Park and keys were out and I was on passenger side unloading a shelf and the shelf hit the shifter and the vehicle started rolling backwards and ran over my leg.
I would like to point out that both Driver and Police Officer safety may be improved if all vehicle designers and manufacturers were to disrupt the convention of locating caches for the drivers vehicle registration information at or below driver shoulder height. It may be a fairly inconsequential to implement a design standard so that the paper copy of a drivers registration and insurance would be neatly and preferentially stored at a height relativistic of the drivers shoulders so that every driver would naturally move through the motion of raising their hands into the air to retrieve requested registration information
Malfunctioning components 1. Door locks do not lock all the time when the lock button is pressed. 2. Randomly I will find my doors unlocked, when I closed them when I got out. 3. Doors unlock by themselves and that poses a problem for me and my family. To be able to figure out the issue I have to take it to the dealer where they charge an arm and a leg to diagnose the issue, due to Covid-19 and the hardship it has caused my family I don’t have the funds to do that. Somebody has to push the dealers to help the consumers out for a change. Thank you.
2010 YARIS, BROKEN FRAME AFTER HITTING POTHOLE, FRAME AND SUSPENSION ALL ROTTED OUT. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO OUTSIDE VISIBLE RUST ON ANY EXTERIOR PANELS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE SECONDARY FAILURE. BOTH OF THE REAR SEATBELTS ON MY 2010 TOYOTA YARUS WON'T RETRACT. INITIALLY, THE REAR LEFT SEAT BELT STOPPED RETRACTING AND THEN SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE REAR RIGHT SIDE SEAT BELT STOPPED RETRACTING.
FOR THE SECOND TIMES IN 18 MONTH MY RIGHT SIDE MIRROR EXPLODED THE BACK PART FLEW TO SOMEBODY YARD THERE WERE NO ONE ON THE BUT ME NO TRUCK NO KID TROWING ROCK I HEAD A BIG EXPLOSION THEN THE MIRROR SLAMMED ON THE SIDE WINDOW SO HARD THAT THE WINDOW HAS SOME SCRATCHES . THE FIRST TIME TOYOTA FIXED IT BUT I HAVE TO PAID $180.00 BECAUSE THEY T SAID NEVER HEARD TO A SIDE MIRROR EXPLODING LET ME TELL YOU IT IS SCRAIRRY YOU DRIVING AND YOU HEAR THAT EXPLOSION

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED SEVERAL NOTICES TO HAVE MY AIR BAG REPLACED. I CONNECTED WITH TOYOTA AND MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE AIR BAGS ARE ON ORDER AND I WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN IT COMES IN. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER 2 MONTHS! THIS IS DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE! I WANT THE STUPID THING REMOVED!
NOVEMBER 10, 2017 - I WAS T-BONED BY A MOTORIST (WHO RAN THE LIGHT) ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WHILE ATTEMPTING A LEFT HAND TURN THRU AN INTERSECTION. THE 2010 TOYOTA YARIS I WAS DRIVING WAS TOTALED BY THE COLLISION ($8,266.72 OF DAMAGE TO THE DRIVERS SIDE). THE YARIS SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE YARIS'S LEFT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS COLLAPSED INTO THE YARIS CABIN WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO BREAK MY SAMSUNG NOTE 4 PHONE DISPLAY & DAMAGE ITS INTERNAL SOLID STATE DRIVE. THE SAMSUNG NOTE 4 WAS ENCASED IN AN OTTER BOX AND ATTACHED TO MY LEFT HIP VIA OTTER BELT CLIP DURING THE TIME OF ACCIDENT. MY HEAD STRUCK A HARD SURFACE IN THE YARIS, RESULTING IN A LARGE HEMATOMA ON MY LEFT FRONTAL LOBE. TOYOTA INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THAT WITHIN THE SPAN OF 68 MILLISECONDS, THE LATERAL DELTA-V AIRBAG SENSOR WAS ACCELERATED FROM 0.0 MPH TO 11.1 MPH. YET THE SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. PER TOYOTA, SINCE THE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR WAS DEEMED IN PROPER WORKING ORDER AND DID NOT DESIGNATE THE COLLISION WARRANTED DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS, EVERYTHING FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. WHEN QUERIED WHAT THRESHOLD WAS REQUIRED TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS (NOTING THE INSTANTANEOUS LATERAL ACCELERATION OF A 2300+ LBS VEHICLE FROM 0 MPH TO 11 MPH WAS INSUFFICIENT), TOYOTA INSISTED I HIRE MY OWN ENGINEERS TO RESEARCH. TOYOTA'S UNWILLINGNESS TO ASSIST LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN COVERING UP A POTENTIAL FLAW IN THE SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM UTILIZED IN THE YARIS AND POTENTIALLY OTHER TOYOTA VEHICLE MODELS. TOYOTA'S CAVALIER REGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF TOYOTA CUSTOMERS POTENTIALLY PLACES MILLIONS OF TOYOTA CUSTOMERS AT RISK OF SEVERE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH.

TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF DRIVE WHEN SPEED REACHES 60MPH. IT SLIPS BACK IN GEAR WHEN THE DRIVER EITHER WIGGLES THE SHIFT LEVER OR WHEN DRIVER SHIFTS INTO 3RD GEAR. SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR USUALLY WORKS BUT SOMETIMES REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO REMAIN IN 3RD GEAR FOR A WHILE BEFORE SHIFTING BACK INTO DRIVE.

TAKATA RECALL: NOTHING HAPPENED TO MY AIRBAGS HOWEVER I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND I AM WORRIED BECAUSE IN THE RECALL LETTER IT SAYS THAT "TIME IN SERVICE UNTIL SIGNIFICANT PROPELLANT DEGRADATION MAY OCCUR PROJECTED AT BETWEEN 6-9YEARS" AND I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE 6 YEARS, PLUS LIVE IN ONE OF THE HOTTEST PART OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THIS YEAR WE HAD RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES. THE RECALL LETTER STATES THAT "THE PROPELLANT IN THESE INFLATORS MAY DEGRADE AFTER PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HIGH ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES". MIAMI HAS THE MOST HUMID AND IN THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURES IN THE COUNTRY.

TAKATA RECALL NOTHING IS BEING DONE AND WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF OUR CAR'S PROBLEM BACK IN MAY OF 2016. WE ARE DRIVING THIS CAR WITH A DANGEROUS PART IN IT AND TOYOTA HAS NOT CONTACTED US ABOUT THE PROBLEM SINCE LAST YEAR WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT US SOON WITH A TIME FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AIRBAG. THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED US SINCE, AND IT'S GOING ON 14 MONTHS NOW. WE WOULD LIKE SOME HELP TO GET TOYOTA TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND REPLACE OUR AIRBAG AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS CAR IS EXPOSED TO HIGH LEVELS OF HEAT AS IT IS PARKED IN AN OUTDOOR PARKING LOT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DURING WORK DAYS.

WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVE AT THE DEALER TWICE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. IN ADDITION, THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V689000 (VISIBILITY). THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL WE HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 6 MONTHS FOR A REPAIR ON OUR RIGHT SIDE AIR BAG. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER TO A PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT SEAT WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE, THIS VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR DRIVER ONLY USE. I FEEL IT IS TAKING WAY TOO LONG FOR THE REPAIR TO TAKE PLACE. I DON'T FEEL LIKE TOYOTA OR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS DOING ENOUGH TO GET THIS REPAIR COMPLETED. I LIVE IN A TROPICAL CLIMATE AND MY CAR IS SIX YEARS OLD BOTH OF THESE CONDITIONS SHOULD PUT ME ON A PRIORITY LIST. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU AS TO WHAT IS BEING DONE TO HELP ME. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM TOYOTA ABOUT THE TAKATA INFLATORS . I WAS TOLD NOT TO USE DE PASSENGER SEAT. EVERY TIME I GO FOR A CHANGE OIL, I ASKED THEM WHEN THEY'RE GOING TO REPLACE IT, AND THEY JUST ANSWER THAT THEY WILL SEND A LETTER TO LET ME KNOW. IT'S BEEN A WHILE AND HAVE NOT HEAR FROM THEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA YARIS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND THE FRONT END MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE UNDER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,839.
MY 2010 YARIS AT TIME IN THE WINTER THE BRAKES WILL NOT STOP WITH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WILL NOT STOP.. COLONIAL TOYOTA AND MY MECHANIC INSPECTED THE BRAKES AND CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THEM. I NOTICE THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V338000 FOR THE COROLLA HAS THE SAME COMPLAINT WITH A RECALL ON HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST VACUUM FOR BRAKE SYSTEM. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM IS SIMILAR TO MINE.
AIRBAG RECALL IS OVER A YEAR OLD WITH NO REMEDY. ALSO MY ELECTRIC WINDOW IS SUBJECT TO RECALL WITH NO REMEDY. I WANT THESE FIXED - IT IS NOT SAFE.
I GOT IN MY CAR, STARTED THE ENGINE, IMMEDIATELY I STARTED SMELLING STRONG BURNING SMELL. THAN STARTED SEEING SMOKE FROM THE DRIVER DOOR. WITHIN FEW SECONDS I STARTED SEEING FLAMES. SINCE I WAS ALREADY ON THE ROAD, I COULDN'T JUST STOP THE CAR. THE FLAME GOT BIGGER AND BIGGER, IN THE CAR CABIN, IT WAS FILL WITH BURNING SMOKE. I TRIED TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, IT DIDN'T WANT TO WORK. I HAS A CUP OF COFFEE IN THE CAR, I POURED IT ON THE FLAME AND IT SUBSIDED A LITTLE. THAN THE FLAMED STARTED TO GET BIGGER AGAIN AND STARTED MELTING THE INTERIOR PANEL OF THE DOOR INCLUDING EVERYTHING AROUND THE INNER DOOR HANDLE. I PARKED AS SOON AS I WAS ABLE TO AND TOOK A CLOTH AND TRIED TO WRAP AROUND THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, BUT COULDN'T. IT WAS TOO HOT AND FLAMES WERE BURNING. SO I CRAWLED OVER THE THE PASSENGER SEAT AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR. THEN WENT TO THE OUTSIDE OF DRIVER DOOR AND OPENED THE DOOR FROM OUTSIDE AND TOOK OFF MY SHIRT AND TRIED TO KILL THE FIRE. I WAS PARKED AT A PARKING LOT BEHIND A BUILDING AT A MALL. I REACHED OUT FOR HELP FROM THE MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AT THE PARKING LOT. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY TOOLS TO HELP ME DISENGAGED THE CABLES FROM THE BATTERY. FINALLY A LADY HAD A BOTTLE OF WATER THAT KIND OF EASED THE FLAME A LITTLE AND A MAN THAT WAS WALKING BY GOT A TOOL AND HELPED ME DIS-ENGAGE THE CABLE FROM BATTERY. THE INTERIOR PANEL OF THE DOOR IS MELTED INCLUDING THE WINDOW CONTROLS. THE WINDOW IS DARK FROM THE FLAME. THE WHOLE CAR SMELLS LIKE BURNT SMOKE. THE FIRE TRUCK, THE POLICE CAME. THE HEAD OF THE SECURITY OF THE BUILDING CAME. I HAVE A POLICE REPORT AND WHAT HAPPENED WAS DOCUMENTED. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW. I HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE THE DAMAGES.
