THE VEHICLE SMELLS OF GASOLINE ALL THE TIME AND MOST NOTABLY WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF. THE SMELL IS STRONGEST IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THERE ARE NO LEAKS ANYWHERE AND AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT I HAVE CHANGED TO PREMIUM GAS. THE DEALER CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP AS A REMEDY TO THIS ISSUE, BUT IT NEVER FIXED THE SMELL. THE SMELL IS AT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THIS HAS OCCURRED FOR THE LAST YEAR AND HALF -EVER SINCE THE CAR REACHED 40,000 MILES AND IT NOW HAS 65,000. THE CAR IS GETTING TERRIBLE FUEL CONSUMPTION AND I AM WORRIED THE CAR IS GOING TO SELF COMBUST AT SOME POINT WHILE SITTING IN THE GARAGE.
I PURCHASED MY 2012 VW CC IN SEPT. 2014. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE WITH APPROXIMATELY 26000 MILES ON IT. SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVERS SEAT NO LONGER HEATS (QUOTED $980 FOR REPAIR) AND THE CLOCK SPRING HAS FAILED (QUOTED $450 FOR REPAIR). I CAN UNDERSTAND THE SEAT MAYBE HAVING AN ISSUE, BUT CONSIDERING I ONLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO VW HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THIS ISSUE. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THE CLOCK SPRING IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY. SINCE THE CLOCK SPRING HAS FAILED THE HORN, THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL, AND THE AIRBAG (TO MY UNDERSTANDING) DOES NOT FUNCTION.THERE IS ALSO AND ERROR MESSAGE FOR THE AIRBAG ALSO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. MY VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS A STATE INSPECTION WITHOUT THE HORN FUNCTIONING. THIS IS NOT COSMETIC, AND I WANT VW TO EXPLAIN WHAT CAUSES THIS ITEM TO FAIL. ITS OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY PART OF THE VEHICLE THAT SIMPLY "GOES OUT". AT 30K MILES? THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO BREAK THIS PART, ALL I DID WAS TURN THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT WHEN IN A PARKING LOT AND THE PART FAILED. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON AND COSTLY ISSUE FOR VW OWNERS. VW CUSTOMER CARE HAS NOT HELPED IN ANY WAY EITHER. THIS PART WILL FAIL SIMPLY BY USING THE BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE.. THE TURNING OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE SPENT MORE MONEY REPAIRING THIS VEHICLE IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF OWING IT THAT I EXPECTED TO HAVE FOR A WHILE. *TR
MY 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC SPORT AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AFTER MY HUSBAND ADJUSTED THE DRIVER SEAT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE CONTROL UNIT ( CLOCK SPRING) THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IF I DROVE IT AND GOT IN AN ACCIDENT THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY. MY CAR IS JUST OVER 80 THOUSAND MILES. I CONTACTED VOLKSWAGEN CUSTOMER CARE VIA PHONE AND THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND JUST DISMISSED ME SAYING MY CAR HAS EXCESSIVE MILEAGE. I DISAGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT! I THINK THAT AIRBAGS THAT WON'T DEPLOY ON A CAR THAT IS A 2012 SHOULD REMAIN UNDER AN UNSPOKEN WARRANTY THAT PROTECTS MY FAMILY IN AN ACCIDENT! AFTER MY REVIEW OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS ON VOLKSWAGENS I SEE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS EXPERIENCED FAULTY AIR BAGS WITH A VOLKSWAGEN. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER VOLKSWAGEN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CYLINDER, ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, AND MULTIPLE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT ALL THE DIAGNOSED PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DEAD BATTERY AT 37,200. HAD CAR TOWED TO LOCAL SERVICE SHOP AND BATTERY REPLACED. DROVE HOME FINE AND NEXT MORNING COMMUTING TO WORK, CAR STARTED SHAKING AND BUCKING VIOLENTLY. CHECK ENGINE AND EPC LIGHT CAME ON. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE VERY SLOWLY AT VERY HIGH RPM (ON INTERSTATE AND THEN SIDE ROADS) TO GET BACK TO AUTO SHOP THAT REPLACED BATTERY. THEY FOUND IGNITION COILS SHUT DOWN AND MIS-FIRING. TRANSFERRED CAR TO VW MOTOR HUNT VALLEY TO SEE IF COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. ONE COIL FOUND DEAD, OTHER 3 RECOMMENDED FOR REPLACEMENT. NOT COVERED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. *TR
WIRING HARNESS ON TRUNK NEEDS REPLACING. LIGHTS DO NOT WORK ON TRUNK. SEEM TO SEE MANY OTHERS WITH SAME ISSUES.
TAKATA RECALL.
MY STEERING WHEEL ELECTRICAL AND AIR BAG STOPPED WORKING AFTER I MADE A TURN WHILE DRIVING. I FOUND OUT IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING AFTER TAKING IT IN. THE CAR HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 38,000 MILES AND SOMETHING LIKE THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN THAT EARLY. VOLKSWAGEN HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT YET EITHER.
CAR DROVE FINE IN THE MORNING. DROVE IT AN HOUR LATER AND IT STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE BACK AND FORTH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ONE AND STARTED TO BLINK AND THE EPC LIGHT CAME ON. DROVE, SLOWLY, TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IGNITION COILS SHUT DOWN AND WERE MIS-FIRING. AFTER I PICKED IT UP, IT STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN AND ONE MISFIRED AGAIN. FAST FORWARD 2 MONTHS AND WE HAD A DEAD BATTERY AT 4800, AFTER DRIVING ALL DAY. FAST FORWARD A MONTH AND IT STARTED TO SHAKE AGAIN. AFTER MORE THAN A MONTH IN THE SHOP I GOT IT BACK. IT STILL SHAKES IN THE MORNINGS SOMETIMES. IF I HAVE TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN, I AM SURE IT IS A LEMON. IVE NEVER HAD THE SAME PERSISTENT PROBLEM ON A CAR IN MY LIFE! NEEDS A RECALL!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND JERKED AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DRIVE OVER 30 MPH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE MANIFOLD, FOUR SPARK PLUGS, THE INTAKE AIR BOX, AND THE INTAKE CHARGE PIPE WERE REPLACED. THE COMPUTER WAS ALSO RESET. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONE YEAR AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE CARBON CLEANED. THE SPARK PLUGS AND THE BATTERY WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,661.
VEHICLE WAS BEING TURNED AROUND IN A PARKING LOT WHEN A CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND ALL OF THE STEERING WHEEL FUNCTIONS (I.E. HORN, RADIO CONTROLS, ETC.) STOPPED WORKING. TOOK IT INTO THE VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS THE "CLOCK SPRING " IN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. *TR
UPON CRANKING UP MY CAR, THE "EPC AND CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT BOTH CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL COMPLETELY DEPRESSED. THEN THE CAR STALLED. IT WAS SLOW TO CRANK UP AGAIN, BUT THE ENGINE FINALLY TURNED OVER. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THAT HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS BAD. THE CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS TAKEN ONLY 3 LONG DISTANCE ROAD TRIPS DURING MY OWNERSHIP(LESS THAN 6 HOURS DRIVING ON EACH TRIP). AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER VW CC OWNERS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. THE UNPREDICTED STALLING OF THE CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
ONE MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED MY CERTIFIED, PRE-OWNED VW CC THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THEY WORKED ONE MOMENT AND THEN TOTALLY FAILED WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNAL OF ANY KIND. I MANAGED TO AVOID THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHICH WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, AND I WAS FORTUNATE NOT TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AS I HAD TO RUN THROUGH THE RED LIGHT. FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS, AND NO INJURIES. BURLINGTON VW OF NEW JERSEY INITIALLY INDICATED THEY WOULD PERFORM A FULL DIAGNOSTIC ON THE FAILED PART (VACUUM PUMP) AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT TO PROVIDE ME REASSURANCE THAT THERE WOULD BE NO INCREASED POTENTIAL FOR THE FAILURE TO HAPPEN AGAIN. THEY ALSO REPRESENTED THEY WOULD OFFER ME SOMETHING TO "MAKE THE SITUATION RIGHT". NEITHER HAS OCCURRED. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN ELEVATED TO THE VW CEO WHOSE OFFICE HAS DONE NOTHING BUT TO TELL ME THEY WILL NOT FULFILL THE DEALERSHIP'S REPRESENTATIONS. IN ADDITION TO REFUSING TO LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM OR PROVIDING A WRITTEN LETTER OFFERING ME AN ASSURANCE OF SAFETY, THEY WILL NOT CONSIDER MY REQUEST FOR A REVERSE SALE. INSTEAD THEY WROTE ME A LETTER CONGRATULATING ME ON MY PURCHASE, AND DUE TO THE BRAKE FAILURE, THEY WILL SUPPORT THEIR BALANCE OF THE WARRANTY. SINCE WHEN DO I NEED A LETTER FROM THE CORPORATE OFFICE INDICATING THEY WILL HONOR A TERM OF THE ORIGINAL SALE? ONE WOULD THINK THAT SINCE THEIR OWN HEAD OF MECHANICS INDICATED HE HAS NOT SEEN THIS ISSUE BEFORE, THAT CORPORATE WOULD DESIRE TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THIS VERY PREMATURE PROBLEM WITHOUT MY PROMPTING. IN FACT, THEY HAVE USED THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT AGAINST ME, AS THIS WOULD HAVE INITIATED A DIFFERENT COURSE OF ACTION. SINCE THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT, THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO PURSUE THE ISSUE ANY FURTHER. THERE ARE SO MANY QUALITY VEHICLES ON THE MARKET. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU CHOOSE ONE OTHER THAN A VW. *TR
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V078000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY AND ADVISED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WERE NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. STEERING LOCKED UP AND WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL CAR WHILE IN MOTION. ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP THE MOTOR THAT CONTROLS STEERING LOCKED UP. WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN STEERING WHEEL AT ALL WHILE IN MOTION. *TR
I TOOK MY CAR TO GET THIS RECALL DONE "RECALL SUBJECT : FMVSS 138 TPMS SENSOR" WITH CAMPAIGN NUMBER 11V312000, BUT 2 VW DEALERSHIP THAT I VISITED REFUSED TO FIX THIS RECALL SAYING THAT MY VIN NUMBER DOESN'T HAVE THIS RECALL. (MY MODEL HAS THIS RECALL BASED ON THIS WEBSITE). HOWEVER, MY CAR STARTED HAVING THIS ISSUE A YEAR AND HALF I BOUGHT MY CAR. "WITH THE INCORRECT TPMS SENSORS, DRIVERS WILL RECEIVE A CONSTANT WARNING FROM THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM ALERTS THE DRIVER BUT, DUE TO INCORRECT TPMS SENSORS, THE SYSTEM CANNOT DETERMINE IF THE VEHICLE TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED. THIS INCREASES THE RISK THAT THE VEHICLE WILL BE DRIVEN WITH ONE OR MORE UNDERINFLATED TIRES, INCREASING THE RISK OF A TIRE FAILURE THAT MAY LEAD TO A CRASH." VW SAID IT WILL COST ME $1300 TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND I KNOW MY CAR HAS THIS RECALL... BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED UNTIL THIS RECALL. COULD YOU INCLUDE MY VIN TO THIS RECALL SO THAT I CAN GET IF FIXED?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PRESSURE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER (TIRES) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,980.
THE CAR IS STALLING WHILE DRIVING AT MEDIUM OR HIGH SPEED - IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS NO MORE OR TOO MUCH GAS COMING INTO THE ENGINE. I HAD THE FUEL SYSTEM CLEANED ALREADY ONCE AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO REAPPEAR - I USUALLY TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL THE ENGINE SEEMS TO OPERATE PROPERLY - THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS ISSUE IF SOMEONE UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM WERE TO DRIVE THE CAR
INHERENT ALIGNMENT AND SUSPENSION DESIGN FLAW CAUSES CUPPING OF TIRES AT FREQUENT INTERVALS DESPITE EXCEEDING MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDED CYCLE FOR TIRE ROTATION AND ALIGNMENT CHECKS. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE DEALER BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO FIX THIS ISSUE. OWNERS NATIONWIDE SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH TRANSLATES TO AN ANNUAL TIRE REPLACEMENT EXPENSE. EVEN WITH BEST RATED TIRES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST 60,000 MILES, THE MOST MILEAGE ONE CAN ACHIEVE IS ABOUT 15,000. THE RESULT ALSO INCLUDES NOISY DRIVING CONDITIONS, VIBRATION WHILE BRAKING OR ACCELERATING. KEEPING THE ALIGNMENT WITHIN FACTORY SPEC DOES NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. VW SHOULD LOOK INTO THE DESIGN AND MODIFY THE ALIGNMENT AND SUSPENSION TO HELP CONSUMERS WITH THIS FRUSTRATING PROBLEM.
ON 01/14/2013 AT APPROX. 6:00PM AFTER DRIVING UP TO A DRIVE THRU, I ENGAGED THE AUTOHOLD ON MY 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC LUX PLUS. AFTER LEAVING THE DRIVE THRU, I WAS WAITING ON A SLIGHT HILL TO DRIVE ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO ENTER INTO MY LANE OF TRAFFIC. THE AUTOHOLD HAD ENGAGED AND IT WAS HOLDING MY POSITION WHILE WAITING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE UNPREDICTABLY AND RAPIDLY ACCELERATED FROM MY HELD POSITION. THE CAR SPED UP FROM A DEAD STOP ACROSS THE STATE HIGHWAY (MAYBE TO 30-45 MPH) IN A VERY DIRECT STRAIGHT PATH. THIS RAPID HIGH SPEED HAPPENED SO FAST THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT HIT THE CURB ACROSS THE HIGHWAY, JUMPED THE SAME CURB AND CRASHED INTO A 10?-12? DEEP RAVINE AT A 35-45 DEGREE ANGLE. I WAS IN COMPLETE AND TOTAL SHOCK. AN INDIVIDUAL STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY AND ASSISTED ME FROM THE RAVINE AND I WAS ABLE TO CALL FOR ASSISTANCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THIS 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC LUX PLUS HAS ONLY 5,425 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN ONLY SERVICED BY VOLKSWAGEN AND NO OTHERS. IN THE PAST THIS 2012 VOLKSWAGEN HAD EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE AUTOHOLD AT TIME OF ORIGINAL DELIVERY FROM THE DEALERSHIP (WHERE IT WAS PURCHASE BRAND NEW). THE SALES WOMAN WAS MODERATELY CONFUSED TO SAY THE LEAST WITH THE SUDDEN SURGE THE CAR EXPERIENCED WHEN SHE WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXPLAIN THE PARTICULAR FEATURE OF AUTOHOLD. SHE INDICATED AT THAT TIME, SHE DID NOT KNOW WHY IT WOULD HAVE DONE THAT AND JUST CONTINUED ON TO PROVIDE NEW CAR STUFF. BESIDES THE DELIVERY INCIDENT AND THE ACCIDENT, I HAVE HAD TWO OTHER BRIEF MINOR ACCELERATION (REV UP) ISSUES WHILE THE AUTOHOLD WAS ENGAGED. I NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS MUCH TO CONCERN MYSELF OVER AS THEY WERE ONLY WHAT I WOULD OF THOUGHT OF AS SLIGHT SURGES FOR THE TWO OCCASIONS. EACH TIME THE AUTOHOLD WAS ENGAGED THE CAR WANTED TO ACCELERATE, YET I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR.
STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR DOES NOT ALWAYS PRODUCT MOTION. DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN MORE ACCELERATION IS NEEDED SUCH AS ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP OR PASSING OTHER VEHICLES OR HAVING TO ACCELERATE TO AVOID A CRASH. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS CAR (NEW) IN 2012. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD US THIS A SPORT VEHICLE AND THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AS LONG AS WE ACCELERATE HARDER. THE RECALL PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO VW OF ORLAND PARK IL.

ON 11/9/2012 TOOK CAR IN LOUD ROARING OCCURRING NOISE COMING FROM THE TIRES WHILING DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS 55MPH CONTI-PRO-2-354-17(23545R1794H) WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY SEEN LIKE THE TIRES OR GOING TO EXPLODE!! AGAIN TOOK VEHICLE BACK 02/05/13 I REPORT A LOUD OCCURRING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT TIRES MILES AT THIS TIME 20,058.AT THIS POINT THEY ROTATED THE TIRES THE LOUD ROARING NOISE WENT FROM THE FRONT TO THE BACK OF THE CAR. AT THIS POINT I WAS AFRAID TO PICK MY GRANDCHILDREN UP FROM SCHOOL DUE TO THE DEFECT TIRES!! ON 03/25/2013 TOOK VEHICLE BACK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM 22,250 MILES- FINALLY THE DEALERSHIP DECT THE PROBLEM THE TIRES ARE FAULTY- INSIDE - THE FAST YOU DRIVE ON FREEWAY THE NOISE GET LOUDER AND UN-SAFE. ONCE THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND CONTIENTAL- DIDN'T WANT TO WARRANTY - OR- EXCHANGE- THERE FAULTEE -TIRES-WHICH ARE POSSIBLE NOT SAFE. I HAD TO PAY TO CHANGE OUT THE TIRES, BECAUSE CONTIENTAL DID-NOT WANT TO STAND BEHIND THERE INTEGRITY, AND COMPLIANCE VALUES.... *TR
AT 8:40 AM CST ON 11/6/2012. WHILE COMMUTING TO WORK AT 55 MPH ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF FREEWAY. I LOST FUNCTIONALITY ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN ENGAGING THE GAS PEDAL. GAS PEDAL WAS RENDERING NON-FUNCTIONAL AND IN-EFFECTIVE. THERE WAS HEAVY SOOT/SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST PRIMARILY ALMOST LIKE FIRE AND SOME SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD, THIS IS A NEW UNDER WARRANTY VW CC 2012 4 DOOR SEDAN. DRIVING ON THE LEFT LANE WITH A SEMI BEHIND ME WHEN THIS OCCURRED. IT CREATED A VERY UNSAFE NEAR MISS INCIDENT. I AM FORTUNATE THAT A COLLISION DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN I LOST POWER TO THE WHEELS. I PULLED OFF TO AN EXIT AND WHEN I FLOORED THE GAS PEDAL, THERE WAS INTERMITTENT POWER STALLING THE VEHICLE TO LESS THAN 5 MPH. HOWEVER, THERE WAS HEAVY SOOT/SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST PRIMARILY ALMOST LIKE FIRE AND SOME SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD, WITH PARKING LIGHTS ON I DROVE 2 MINUTES AND PULLED TO A PARKING LOT. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP UPON TALKING WITH VW ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. THEY APPEAR TO BE INCONSIDERATE TO THE MAGNITUDE OF THE SITUATION I DEALT WITH AND THE IMPACT AND SEVERITY OF THE TECHNICAL FAILURE. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS SYSTEMIC IN VW CC. THIS TECHNICAL FAILURE CAN EASILY CAUSE ACCIDENTS. MY NEAR MISS IS A TESTAMENT TO IT. *TR
THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR CYCLES ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING, STAYING ON CONSTANTLY FOR ONLY SHORT COMMUTES. WHEN THE WARNING INDICATOR IS LIT, THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYED RIGHT FRONT TIRE PRESSURE SHOWS DASHED LINES. WHEN THE WARNING INDICATOR IS NOT LIT, THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE IS DISPLAYED.
SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED MY VW CC 2012, I HAVE NOTICED WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR STILL MOVES FOWARD ALITTLE BIT. ALSO UPON MAKING A 3 POINT TURN AROUND UPON PUTTING THE SHAFT IN REVERSE THE CAR STILL MOVES FORWARD. THE OTHER COMPLAINT IS UPON GOING THROUGH A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU, AND SETTING THE AUTOHOLD THE CARS ENGINE MADE A LOUD REV (REVOLUTION) NOISE. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT MY CAR WOULD SMASH INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I TOOK MY CAR IN TODAY FOR THE 10,000 MILE FREE MAINTENANCE, THEY CHECKED OUT MY CONCERNS AND SADLY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR

THE FACTORY INSTALLED GPS DIRECTS THE VEHICLE OPERATOR TO TURN JUST MOMENTS BEFORE THE TURN MUST BE MADE.THIS CAN CREATE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS ON THE ROAD. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN CC. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 5 MPH WHEN THE HORN WAS DEPRESSED REPEATEDLY BUT THE HORN FAILED TO SOUND. THE HORN WOULD ONLY SOUND PROPERLY WHEN THE HORN WAS DEPRESSED IN ONE LONG MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THERE WAS AN ELECTRONIC DELAY WITH THE HORN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,283.
THIS LETTER IS A FOLLOW UP TO A VERBAL COMPLAINT I FILED WITH VOLKSWAGEN CUSTOMER CARE. ON MAY18TH 2011, THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ON MY 2012 VW CC SHATTERED AS I DROVE DOWN INTERSTATE 95 AS IT PASSES THRU THE TOWN OF GREENWICH. MY CONCERN IS FOCUSED ON THE SAFETY OF THE WHEEL DESIGN AND MY BELIEF THAT THE OVER INFLATION OF THE TIRES CONTRIBUTED TO RIM FAILURE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT APPROXIMATELY 10AM ON THAT DAY THERE WERE NO VISIBLE DEFECTS IN THE ROAD AND THE CAR THAT PULLED OVER BEHIND ME CONFIRMED THE ABSENCE OF ANY LARGE POTHOLES. WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE THE CAR CLEARLY CAME IN CONTACT WITH AN IRREGULARITY, ONE THAT EVERY CAR BEFORE AND AFTER WAS ABLE TO TRANSVERSE WITHOUT A PROBLEM. IN MY CASE THE RIM SHATTERED AND SEPARATED FROM THE CAR CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR THAT WAS BEHIND ME PULLED OVER AFTER SEEING WHAT HE DESCRIBED AS AN EXPLOSION ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE. I HAVE ATTACHED PICTURES OF THE RIM. CLEARLY SHOWING PRODUCT FAILURE. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED, HE COMMENTED THAT HE HAS NEVER WITNESSED RIM FAILURE LIKEN THAT. THE DEALER UPON REVIEW OF THE DAMAGE CONCURRED. MY CONCERN IS TWOFOLD. ONE THE SAFETY OF THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE RIM AND THE OVER INFLATION UPON DELIVERY OF THE TIRES WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE WEAKNESS OF THE DESIGN. I AM REQUESTING AN INQUIRY INTO THE SAFETY OF THIS DESIGN, THE TRAINING OF THE STAFF ON PROPER INFLATION GUIDELINES AND THE REIMBURSEMENT FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS FAILURE
