I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET WHEN A LOUD BEEPING AND THE RED ABS FAILURE + EVERY LIGHT ON DASHBOARD LIT UP. EVERY GAUGE STOPPED WORKING (THE GAS GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER, ETC) I WAS CLOSE TO HOME AND CAREFULLY PROCEEDED TO THE HOUSE. AFTER A HALF MILE THE CAR STALLED AND THE ENGINE DIED. BECAUSE I WAS PREPARED FOR AN EVENT, I IMMEDIATELY SET HAZARDS AND ROLLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND MADE IT THE REST OF THE WAY HOME (2 BLOCKS) WITHOUT IT STALLING AGAIN. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE, I TOOK IT THE VW DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THE ABS MODULE FAILED / BROKE AND CAUSED THE PROBLEMS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING THE DEFECT WHICH CAN CAUSE AN IMMEDIATE HARMFUL AFFECT. IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY OR BEING CAREFUL FAR BEYOND ANY NORMAL SENSE I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN A LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENT.
STARTED THE CAR AND AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF BUT ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS APPEAR TO BE WORKING. NO TROUBLE/ INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING 70, ON A SIDE STREET TRAVELING 35, AND SITTING IDLE AT A STOP LIGHT. EVERY TIME, THE CAR WILL RUN FOR BETWEEN 5-7 MINUTES THAN NOT RESTART FOR 5-7 MINUTES. AT ATTEMPTS TO RESTART INSIDE THAT 5 MINUTE WINDOW AFTER THE ENGINE STALLS, THERE IS NO TURNING OVER, NO CLICKING OR ANYTHING. THERE IS NO TEMP ISSUES, OR LOW FUEL ISSUES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A FULL TANK AND A HALF TANK ALSO. *TR
I RECENTLY REPLACED THE DMF (DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL) IN MY CAR. IT WAS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, AS A FAILED FLYWHEEL IS A HAZARD. THE FLYWHEEL WAS FAILING TO THE POINT WHERE IT COULD BE HEARD RATTLING WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING. THE FLYWHEELS CAN FAIL UNEXPECTEDLY AT ANY TIME OR SPEED, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, AND POSSIBLY CAUSING A SUDDEN, UNCONTROLLABLE STOP. RESEARCHING ONLINE SHOWS THIS PART IS PRONE TO FAILURE. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. VW HAS DONE NOTHING OF THE SORT.
FOR THE 2ND (!) TIME IN 2 YEARS, THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED ON THE CAR. AS MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY, HE LOST ALL HORSEPOWER AND THE DASH LIGHTS ALL LIT UP WITH VARIOUS WARNING SIGNALS AND A SYSTEM FAILURE WARNING. FUEL PUMP HAS EXPLODED AND INTRODUCED METAL SHAVINGS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM.
2009 JETTA WAGON SPORTWAGON 2.5L SE DISCOVERED BROKEN LEFT REAR SPRING WHILE ROTATING TIRES. LAST LOWER 3/4 TURN OF COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN OFF. PRESENCE OF RUST AT FRACTURE SURFACE SUGGESTS IT HAD BEEN BROKEN FOR SOME TIME, BEFORE 60000MILES. A FEW WEEKS LATER, AT ABOUT 61000MILES HEARD A CLUNKING FROM THE RIGHT REAR CORNER OF THE CAR. INSPECTION REVEALED LAST LOWER 3/4 TURN OF COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN OFF, BROKE IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE LEFT SIDE. OWNERS REPORT ONLINE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE JETTA SPORTWAGON AND CAUSED BY THE SPRING MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
THE SUN ROOF OPENED TO THE FIRST TILT POSITION WITHOUT ANY ACTION CAUSED BY THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON MAY 17 DURING A SLOW LEFT TURN IN A SHOPPING CENTER. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT MAY BE ELECTRICAL IN NATURE AND MAY AFFECT THE DOOR LOCKS AS WELL. ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION, I HAD DIFFICULTY OPENING THE TRUNK AND HAD TO USE MY KEY TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR.
GAS SMELL INSIDE CAR, FUEL SPRAYING/LEAKING OUT OF METAL FUEL LINE FROM FUEL PUMP TO FUEL RAIL.
I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT WHEN SUDDENLY THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY EVERY LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD. MY CAR STALLED AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE OF A SEMI-BUSY STREET AND WAS ABLE TO WAIT UNTIL MY CAR STARTED UP AGAIN. HAD I BEEN ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE BACKSEAT, I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE MY COMPLETE ABS SYSTEM. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 72,000 MILES ON THIS CAR AND HAVE SERVICED IT REGULARLY. THERE IS NO REASON FOR A PART WHICH AFFECTS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND SAFETY OF THE DRIVER SHOULD GO OUT THIS SOON UNLESS IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART - PERIOD!!! I KNOW THAT HUNDREDS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME AS I HAVE READ THEIR COMPLAINTS ONLINE. VW NEEDS TO IMMEDIATELY MAKE THE REPAIRS NECESSARY TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM IN ORDER TO MAKE THEIR VEHICLES SAFE TO THE PUBLIC AND BEFORE ANYONE IS INJURED OR DIES. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR BEGAN SLOWING ITSELF DOWN. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE RPM INDICATOR WENT UP BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT SPEED UP PAST 45 MPH AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VERY HARD THE REST OF THE WAY. WHEN I TOOK IT FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIR, THE CODES P2431 AND P2432 INDICATED A FAULTY SENSOR IN THE AIR INJECTION SYSTEM PRESSURE SENSOR. I WAS TOLD THAT VOLKSWAGON WAS AWARE OF THE PARTICULAR PROBLEM, WHICH HAS OCCURRED IN A HIGH NUMBER OF VEHICLES AND THEY IN FACT RECOMMENDED AN UPDATED VERSION OF THE INJECTION HOSE AND SENSOR. THIS WAS A $350 REPAIR ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES AND ACCORDING TO VOLKSWAGON A COMMON REPAIR. I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR THAT CONSUMERS SHOULD ABSORB THE COST OF THIS TYPE OF REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL ODOR FROM THE TRUNK AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE EXHAUST FLAP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE ENGINE EXHAUST FLAP FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY JETTA TDI TO WORK ON I-270 IN THE MORNING,THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURN ON AND THE ABS LIGHT FLASHING AND THE TRANSMISSION GOING TO NEUTRAL AND STOP WORKING , CANNOT ACCELERATE THE CAR JUST SLOW DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY, I TURN MY SIGNAL LIGHT TO RIGHT AND LET IT DECELERATED TO THE RIGHT LANE .AT MY BACK WAS A TRUCK ITS GOOD THAT THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN IF NOT MY JETTA WILL BE REAR ENDED CRUSH. LET THE ENGINE COOL DOWN AND RESTART IT AND DROVE HOME QUICKLY. I USE MY VAG SCANNER ON ENGINE CODE I GOT 049409 AND ON ABS 01315 BOTH ABOUT TRANSMISSION MODULE LOST COMMUNICATIONS. INSIDE THE DSG ITS THE MECHATRONIC UNIT FAILURE. I CHECK WITH VW DEALER THE MECHATRONIC IS OUT OF WARRANTY NO EXTENSION TOO.ANYWAY I BOUGHT THE MECHATRONIC AND FLUIDS REPLACES IT AND DO THE BASIC SETTINGS. THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE AGAIN.THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE VW SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON THIS MECHATRONIC FAILURE. IN AUSTRALIA AND IN ASIA COUNTRY THEY HAVE RECALL TOO.
UPON DRIVING THROUGH A HIGHWAY INTERCHANGE AT A LOWER RATE OF SPEED THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL DISCONNECTED WITH AN AMBER SOLID LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INDICATING SO, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ALSO DISENGAGED INDICATED AS WELL WITH AN AMBER SOLID LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS FLASHING RED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. UPON TURNING OFF THE CAR AND TURNING IT BACK ON IT RESETS, HOWEVER THE ISSUE IS BECOMING MORE COMMON AS TIME GOES ON. *TR
VEHICLE ENGINE SHUT OFF DURING TRAVEL, DUE TO FUEL FILTER BEING CLOGGED BY METAL DEBRIS. THE HIGH PRESSURE INJECTION PUMP FAILED EFFECTIVELY ENDING THE LIFE OF THE ENGINE. THE WELDS ON THE HIGH PRESSURE INJECTION PUMP HAD DETERIORATED, RESULTING METAL DEBRIS TO CIRCULATE THROUGH COMPLETE INJECTION SYSTEM. AFTER MULTIPLE FAILED ATTEMPTS TO FLUSH OUT THE INJECTION SYSTEM IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM ALONG WITH THE FUEL INJECTOR PUMP. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR THAT WAS ESTIMATED TO BE AROUND $5,500. VERY UNSATISFIED. *TR
I THINK THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS YR 2015 MY SEATS BURNT A HOLE THREW THE SEAT AND MY CLOTHES. I NO LONGER USE THE HEATED SEATS CAUSE I AM AFRAID MY CAR WILL CATCH ON FIRE. ALSO MY I HAVE A LIGHT GO OUT EVERY TIME I REPLACE A LIGHT. FIRST A HEAD LIGHT THEN A BLINKER LIGHT THEN A TAIL LIGHT NEXT THE LICENSES PLATE LIGHT AND CURRENTLY ANOTHER FRONT LIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN OVER THE LAST 6-8 MONS.
WE WERE DRIVING ON DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CARS LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING AND THEN CAR STOP RUNNING AND STOPPED DEAD IN THE ROAD. COULD NOT GET IT STARTED AGAIN. IF IT HAD BEEN ON THE FREEWAY I AM SURE I WOULD NOT BE TYPING THIS WE WOULD BE IN HOSPITAL OR WORSE. WE HAD TO GET OUT AND THE STEERING WAS NOT WORKING TO GET IT TO SIDE OF ROAD. THE DEALER CALLED AND SAID THERE WAS METAL SHAVINGS IN FUEL LINE AND COMPONENTS. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OF THE SAME THINGS HAPPENING TO OTHER CARS. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. HAD CAR TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. THEY HAVE DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS LOW RAIL FUEL PRESSURE CAUSED BY FAILED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. THIS FAILURE CAUSED METAL SHAVINGS TO BE DISPERSED THROUGHOUT ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. I'M TOLD THAT THE HP FUEL PUMP, LOW AND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL REGULATORS, AND TANK FUEL PUMP ALL MUST BE REPLACED ALONG WITH A COMPLETE REMOVAL AND CLEANING OF ALL FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS. ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR IS BETWEEN $7,000 AND $10,000. THIS CAR IS A DIESEL TDI. *TR
THE TRUNK LID OF MY 2009 VW JETTA OPENS UNEXPECTEDLY. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE IT IS PARKED. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO PREDICT WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. I WILL SOMETIMES FIND IT OPEN WHEN I AM READY TO DRIVE IN THE MORNING. SOMETIMES IT WILL OPEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING THE CAR. ONCE IT OPENED WHILE I WAS ENTERING A FREEWAY RAMP. LUCKILY IT HAS NOT YET HAPPENED WHILE UNATTENDED DURING A RAIN OR SNOWSTORM ! YET THE POTENTIAL FOR DANGER IS VERY REAL. FINDING A PLACE TO PULL OVER TO CLOSE A TRUNK LID WHILE MY REAR VISION IS BLOCKED CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS SCENARIO -- NOT TO MENTION THE SECURITY ISSUES AN OPEN TRUNK LID RAISES. THE VW DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TWO FIXES, ONCE UNDER WARRANTY AND ANOTHER ATTEMPT ON MARCH 6, 2015 COST ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED JUST THIS AFTERNOON AS I WAS RETURNING TO MY CAR FROM THE BANK LOBBY. I'M SCHEDULED FOR A THIRD VISIT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW AFTERNOON. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO BE A THROWING ANY MORE MONEY AT A SAFETY AND QUALITY ISSUE THAT SHOULD NOT OCCUR AND HOPE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HELP ME. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. *TR

THE BACK DOOR LOCKS WON'T UNLOCK, EITHER FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE, WITH BUTTON OR KEY. FIRST IT WAS THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK DOOR LOCK AND NOW IT IS BOTH BACK DOORS. I HAVE CONTACTED VOLKSWAGEN AND THEIR ANSWER IS "SORRY FOR THE PROBLEM."

I AM REPORTING LAST SECOND DIRECTION CHANGES GIVEN BY MY GARMIN NUVI 42 GPS NAVIGATION DEVICE. ON EXIT 57 OFF I20 WEST TO I75/85 THE DEVICE CHANGED FROM DIRECTING TO JOIN I75/85 SOUTH TO JOIN I75/85 NORTH WITH LESS THAN 300 FEET TO MAKE THE CHANGE. ALSO, THE DEVICE MADE A SIMILAR LAST SECOND DIRECTION CHANGE WHILE TRAVELING NORTH ON I75/85. IT INDICATED THAT I SHOULD BE IN THE LEFT 3 LANES BUT THAT I WAS TO CONTINUE TO I75 NORTH. THEN IT CHANGED WITH ONLY 300 FEET REMAINING TO SAY THAT I WAS TO TAKE I85 NORTH. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO GARMIN. I BELIEVE THAT THESE LAST SECOND DIRECTION CHANGES CAN LEAD TO ERRATIC DRIVING AND MISHAPS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING OUR 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA SPORTSWAGEN TDI ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE GLOW LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED THE CAR AND THE ENGINE STOPPED WORKING AND STARTED SMOKING. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE ENGINE HAD SEIZED BUT DID NOT KNOW THE REASON. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER THE ENGINE WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD ALL OF THE RECOMMENDED SERVICES WHICH WERE DONE BY THE DEALER INCLUDING ALL OF THE OIL CHANGES. *TR
WAS DRIVING AT 50MPH CAR JUST SHUT OFF-RETURNED ON HAZARD LIGHTS PULLED OVER -WAITED -HAD TO WAIT ONE-TWO MINUTES BEFORE CAR WOULD START. THIS HAPPENED THREE ADDITIONAL TIME GOING BETWEEN 30-50 MPH SAME DAY TOOK IT RIGHT INTO VW SHOP. SHOP DIAGNOSED IGNITION PROBLEM AND REPLACED IT. *TR
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE AND STABILITY CONTROL FAILURE DURING BRAKING EVENT. DURING BRAKING EVENT ON SLIPPERY SURFACE: 1.) ABS ENGAGED AS NORMAL AT START OF BRAKING EVENT. 2.) ABS STOPPED WORKING AND WHEELS LOCKED UP RESULTING IN VEHICLE ROTATION. 3.) STABILITY CONTROL AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ACCOMPANIED BY A BEEP. 4.) AFTER BRAKING EVENT WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED ON AND ABS/STABILITY WERE NON-FUNCTIONAL. 5.) AFTER CAR RESTART WARNING LIGHTS WERE GONE AND ABS/STABILITY CONTROL WORKED. UNDER GENTLE BRAKING ON SLIPPERY SURFACE ABS WORKS. ABLE TO CONSISTENTLY RECREATE ISSUE WITH HARD BRAKING OR HARD ACCELERATION ON SLIPPERY SURFACE. REAR DOOR LOCK FAILURE - UNLOCK CAR USING KEY FOB, TRY TO OPEN BACK DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, PULL HANDLE, DOOR "DROPS" BUT DOESN'T OPEN FULLY, PULL HANDLE SECOND TIME DOOR OPENS. THE "UNDER HOOD FUSE BOX" WAS REPLACED IN MAY 2014 UNDER RECALL #97AM. WHEN THE WEATHER TURNED COLD THE CAR BEGAN TO GET HARD TO START, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND WHEN IT TURNED VERY COLD THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER, THEY CLEARED THE CODE AND SAID IF THE CODE CAME BACK THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE "GLOW PLUG CONTROL MODULE". WHEN I CAME HOME I STARTED SEARCHING THE "TDI FORUMS" FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I FOUND OTHERS HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND SOMEONE FOUND THE SOLUTION. WHEN THE FUSE BOX WAS REPLACED, THERE IS A LITTLE JUMPER (VW PART NUMBER: 3C0-971-249) (COST $5.) THAT GOES IN A RELAY SLOT (R2) THAT SENDS POWER TO A 50 AMP FUSE (SB27), THAT SENDS POWER TO THE "GLOW PLUG CONTROL MODULE" (J179) THAT SENDS POWER TO THE GLOW PLUGS WHEN THE ENGINE IS BELOW 18 DEGREES C, ALLOWING THE ENGINE TO START WHEN COLD (AND WITHOUT SMOKING). ***THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS NO LEGEND PROVIDED FOR THE UNDER HOOD FUSE BOX, SO NO WAY TO KNOW IF SOMETHING IS MISSING. THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IF SOMEONE WOULD PULL A FUSE AND NOT PAY ATTENTION, THERE IS NOTHING TO INDICATE WHERE OR WHAT SIZE OF FUSE TO PUT BACK IN. WHILE DRIVING IN LOCAL, I WAS SO SCARED WHEN MY 09 VW JETTA SPORTWAGEN TDI SUDDENLY STOPPED, COMPLETELY OUT OF POWER. THE CAR STOPPED RIGHT BEFORE WE ENTERED THE INTERSECTION. IT COULDN'T BE ABLE TO RESTART. THERE WERE NO ENGINE LIGHT ON, NO WARNING SIGNS. THE CAR JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITHOUT ANY SIGNS AND WE HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED. I CONSIDER THIS AS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IF THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN LIKE THAT WHILE ON FREEWAY, IT COULD LEAD TO MANY CAR ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS. THE DIAGNOSIS SHOWED THAT THERE IS METAL PIECES FLOW INSIDE THE FUEL LINE WHICH CAUSE FUEL SYSTEM DAMAGE AND BREAK DOWN THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. THIS ISSUES HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO CARS IN THE SAME MODEL WHICH HAS BEEN REPORTED OVER THE YEARS. I TOLD THEM ABSOLUTELY NOT. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $6500 BECAUSE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT SERVICE MANAGER GOT VW TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE I SAID I WAS GOING TO GET AN ATTORNEY. ON JUNE 27, 2014 WE HAD WITH AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WHERE THE BATTERY WAS DRAINING FROM A SHORT IN THE RADIO MODULATOR. THE CAR HAD 101,348 MILES. THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM WHICH TOOK 9 DAYS TO FIX AND COST $1238.56. I NOTICED THE RADIO WOULD STAYED ON WITH THE KEY OUT OF THE CAR AFTER THAT THOUGH. THEN WE HAD THE CHECK ENGINE, AIR BAG, ABS AND TRACTION LIGHTS ON AT 109,452. I TOOK IT TO MY SERVICE STATION ON 11/28/2014, BUT HE SAID THE DEALER HAD TO PROGRAM UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND CHECK THE ABS MODULE FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE O2 SENSOR ON NUMBER 2 CYLINDER. THEY FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR BAG, ABS MODULE OR TRACTION CONTROL. THEY CHARGED ME $600. THE LIGHTS WERE ALL OFF. ON JANUARY 3, MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND HER GIRLFRIEND WENT TO THE MOVIES LAST NIGHT WITH THE CAR. IT WAS LIGHTLY RAINING OUT. SHE LEFT THE MOVIE THEATRE AROUND 8:20 PM. SHE CAME UP TO AN INTERSECTION THAT WAS TURNING RED. SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SKIDDED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS CROSSING. SHE WAS DOING ABOUT 40 MPH. GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA 205/55R16. DURING A ROUTINE INSPECTION AND OIL SERVICE ON MY JETTA THE TECHNICIANS DISCOVERED TREAD BUBBLES IN 2 OF MY TIRES. I HAD THE MECHANIC PUT BOTH TIRES WITH BUBBLES ON THE REAR FOR SAFETY AND I DROVE THE CAR TO A GOODYEAR TIRE CENTER. THEY INSPECTED THE TIRES FOR ME AND VERIFIED THE BUBBLES IN THE TREAD. GOODYEAR TIRE CENTER THEN CONTACTED GOODYEAR CORPORATE FOR ME. THE TIRES ARE LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND THE CAR IS DRVEN ABOUT 1,000 MILES PER MONTH. GOODYEAR SAID THAT THEY WOULD ONLY GIVE $20 OFF THE COST OF NEW TIRES. I STILL HAVE MORE THAN HALF THE LIFE OF THE TIRES LEFT. I FEEL LIKE THEY SHOULD REPLACE THEM WITH NEW TIRES BECAUSE THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I HAVE 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 2.5 AND I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY CARS. 1) ALL MY LIGHTS, EXCEPT FOR THE LEFT SIDE OF HEADLIGHT, ARE NOT WORKING. ALL THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. I CHANGED THE BULBS BUT STILL DO NOT WORK. 2) SINCE LIGHTS STARTED TO NOT WORK, I GET SEAT BELT WARNING SIGNS AND ALARMS EVEN IF I AM WEARING THE SEATBELTS. 3) WHEN I TRY TO WASH MY FRONT WINDOW WITH THE WIPERS, WINDOW WASHIER(LIQUID) WOULD NOT COME OUT. *JS
