KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION. CAN NOT REMOVE IT. MY CAR WAS ON IDLE FOR 2 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES. NO ONE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE MY KEY. I DROVE IT TO SEVERAL MECHANIC SHOPS
BEGINNING AT 60K MILES I REALIZED THAT MY JETTA SPORT 1.8L BEGAN TO CONSUME OIL AT A MUCH HIGHER RATE THAN USUAL SO MUCH SO THAT I TOOK IT TO MY NEARBY DEALERSHIP AND HAD IT LOOKED AT. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO LEAKS AND THAT THE OLDER VW'S GET THE MORE THEY BURN OIL. HOWEVER, THEY REFERRED TO THE OIL BURNING AT AROUND A QUART EVERY 5,000 MILES BUT MY CAR IS BURNING OIL AT 5 TIMES THAT SPEED OF A QUART EVERY 1,000 MILES. I HAVE TO KEEP A QUART OF OIL IN MY CAR AT ALL TIMES AND IT IS BEGINNIGN TO BECOME EXPENSIVE. I TRAVEL BETWEEN STATES OFTEN AND DO THE ARIZONA-INDIANA AND BACK TRIP ONCE A YEAR SO IT DOES HAVE MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES ON IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL FAULT UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE RESIDENCE. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL INSPECTION DONE ON THE VEHICLE. SERRA VOLKSWAGEN LOCATED AT 1490 CENTER POINT PKWY, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35215, WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AT 205-286-9924, AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO VOLKSWAGEN CUSTOMER CARE. VOLKSWAGEN CUSTOMER CARE WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. AT PRESENT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DEEMED TO BE DESTROYED.
MY KEY KEEPS GETTING STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WONT COME OUT. I HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR RUNNING FOR HOURS UNTIL THE KEY FINALLY COMES OUT.
THE KEY GOT STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I COULD NOT TURN THE CAR OFF. I HAD TO REPLACE THE IGNITION LOCK HOUSING.
ABOUT A MONTH AGO, I WAD AT AN INTERSECTION WITH MY JETTA WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE PROMPTED ME TO SLAM ON MY HORN. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO USE MY HORN, NO SOUND EMINATED FROM THE VEHICLE. UPON ARRIVING HOME, I BEGAN TESTING THE HORN TO NO AVAIL. DUE O THIS ELECTRICAL FAILURE, I'VE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE WITHOUT A HORN IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA WHICH IS ILLEGAL AND HAVE BEEN PUT AT EXTREME RISK WITH THE INABILITY TO ALERT OTHER DRIVERS WITH MY VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HERITAGE VOLKSWAGEN OF WEST ATLANTA (1981 THORNTON RD, LITHIA SPRINGS, GA 30122) AND WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW EVAP PUMP WAS NEEDED IN ORDER TO PASS EMISSIONS FOR THE STATE OF GEORGIA. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE HANKOOK TIRES I HAVE ARE BOLDING WAY TOO EARLY. THEY STARTED TO AT 32,000 FOR THE FIRST 2 TIRES AND 18,000 FOR THE OTHER 2. THE TIRES ARE RATED FOR 70,000 MILES AND I'M NOT GETTING ANYWHERE NEAR THAT. EVERY TIME IT RAINS I HYDROPLANE AND ITS NOW UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE MY CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED HANKOOK AND WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE. SO I GO TO VW AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ALL 4 BUT ONLY THE 2. AFTER SOME ARGUING THEY TELL ME TO DRIVE AROUND ON MY BOLDING TIRES AND WERE THEM DOWN MORE AND THEY WILL TRY TO GET ME NEW TIRES BUT I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR A CAR DEALER TO TELL ME TO CONTINUE DRIVING ON THE, EVEN AFTER THEY SEEN HOW WORN DOWN THEY WERE! THIS IS ALSO THE 2ND SET OF TIRES I HAD FOR THIS CAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR ONLY HAS 52000 MILES NOW.
EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ONE YEAR AGO, I NOTICED THAT MY CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING. IT IS A PUSH-TO-START CAR, AND SOMETIMES IT CUTS OFF AND I HAVE TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO HAVE IT RESTART. IT HAPPENS DURING ALL TYPES OF WEATHER, AND I'VE HAD THE BATTER TESTED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS IN GOOD STANDING, AND THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THIS LAST ONE YEAR OF HAVING THE CAR. THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO DO THAT WAS LITERALLY WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF BUYING THE CAR. FURTHERMORE, THE RANGE FEATURE THAT GIVES YOU AN AUTOMATIC READING OF THE GAS GAUGE IS INACCURATE. WHEN I FILL UP THE TANK IF SOMETIMES READS OVER 300 MILES, AND THEN SOMETIMES IT READS OVER 400; AND THEN WHEN THE GAS IS LOW AND NEARING EMPTY, IT NOTIFIES ME AT 30 MILES LEFT TILL EMPTY BUT THEN RAPIDLY DROPS TO 15 OR LESS BY INCREMENTS OF 5.
VEHICLE PAUSES FOR A DANGEROUS NUMBER OF SECONDS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING A VERY BUSY STREET INTERSECTION OR HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENS WHILE MOVING AT ANY TIME. IS UNPREDICTABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DICK HANNA VOLKSWAGEN (12345 E. BURNSIDE ST, PORTLAND, OR 97233, (503) 822-3467) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HORN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE KEY FOB AND ALARM FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,890.
I WAS TRAVELING AT 40 MPH THROUGH A CITY STREET INTERSECTION. MY CAR WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WITH SUCH FORCE THAT MY CAR WAS SPUN AROUND ALMOST 180 DEGREES. 80% OF THE IMPACT WAS ON THE DRIVER'S REAR DOOR, 20% ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THIS INCLUDED A CAR EQUIPPED WITH SIDE/CURTAIN AIRBAGS. I HAD ISSUES PREVIOUSLY WITH THE WINDOWS PROPERLY WORKING AND HAD ALL COMPONENTS MINUS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPLACED ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND A PASSENGER DOOR. THERE WERE A FEW OTHER ODDITIES AT TIMES WITH THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM OF THE JETTA. CONSIDERING THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT I SUSPECT AN ELECTRICAL GLITCH WITH THE SENSORS OR SOME OTHER PROBLEM THAT PREVENTED THE AIRBAGS FROM DEPLOYING. THE DAMAGE WAS EXTENSIVE ENOUGH THAT THE CAR WAS TOTALED.
THE IGNITION WHEN AUTOMOBILE IS IN PARK YOU CAN'T TURN OFF ENGINE . THIS HAS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK
THE JETTA WHEN TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR WAS HIT BY A CHRYSLER 300 TOURING GOING ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE WITH THE GRILL OF THE CAR. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ROLL ONTO THE TOP OF THE CAR. A CAR THIS LOW TO THE GROUND AND SIZE SHOULD HAVE CAUSED IT TO SPIN NOT ROLL OVER. THIS HAPPENED ON A DRY CITY STREET JETTA WAS GOING STRAIGHT.VEHICLE WAS IN GOOD REPAIR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GUNTHER VOLKSWAGEN OF COCONUT CREEK (4300 FL-7, COCONUT CREEK, FL 33073) FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V705000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, SERVICE BRAKES HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION ON THE VEHICLE WAS HIGH AND METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND INSIDE THE OIL RESERVOIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE METAL SHAVINGS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED THE "ECM" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
ON MY HOME STOP BY WALMART AND THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. DIDN'T GO IN THE STORE AGAIN JUST WENT HOME AND IT STILL WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. SINCE MY NEIGHBOR HAS 2 VW CARS I WENT TO HIS HOUSE AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2016 PASSET. HE CHECKED ON MY CAR AND TRIED TO GET THE KEY OUT AFTER WE CALLED STOKES VW ON ASHLEY PHOSPHATE RD. THE SERVICE PERSON SUGGESTED BRINGING IT IN AN LEAVE IT BUT DIDNT HAVE A LOANER CAR FOR ME TO GET TO WORK..HE SUGGESTED JIGGLING THE KEY WHILE TURNING THE WHEEL BECAUSE THATS WHAT THET DO. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. IN A STORE PARKING LOT. ALSO THE WINDOW WOULD NOT GO UP THIS INCIDENT HAPPEN ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I PURCHASE THE CAR. I THOUGHT MAYBE BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER 5 IN THE MORNING. IT HAPPEN AGAIN AND THEN IT HAPPEN AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT GO UP IT WAS OVER 8 HOURS BEFORE IT DID AND I NEEDED TO GO BACK TO WORK AND LEAVE MY CAR WINDOW DOWN. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN VW.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE SENSORS ON THE VEHICLE FAILED, AND THE INDICATORS FOR THE TURN SIGNALS, BRAKES, AND DOORS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALSO, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE BACKUP CAMERA FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
KEY STUCK IN IGNITION WHILE VEHICLE IS STILL ON, IT CAN'T BE TURNED OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN PARKED POSITION.
TODAY (NOV14, 2018) WHEN I BRAKED TO AVOID RUNNING INTO A BRAKING CAR IN FRONT OF ME, THE CAR DIDN'T SEEM TO REDUCE SPEED AT ALL. IT RESULTED IN A CRASH THAT DEPLOYED 5 AIR BAGS OF MY CAR. THE SAME CAR HAD A SIMILAR ACCIDENT IN WHICH BRAKE DIDN'T WORK ON MARCH 7, 2018.
- Evap System, it is available for inspection upon request. - The check engine light will not turn off because of electrical wiring due to a faulty connection with the Evap system. It has been checked and there are no leaks and I have been told by three locations that it is a electrical wiring issue. Since the check engine light will not turn off I can not be notified if there are other issues that may cause a check engine light to turn on and my family's safety is at risk because I do not know if it is only because of a electrical wiring issue. - The problem has been checked by three local auto shops who have all smoked the Evap system but have never found a leak and have each individually told me it is a wiring issue. - It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others to my knowledge because the car was sold to me by a dealership anything prior to that event I am not aware of. - They first appeared one week and a half from purchase from the dealership. The dealership said it would not fix it because it wasn't in their books. The check engine light turned on when I turned on the car after that time period. I was not driving when it had turned on.
WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE IN A LARGE PARKING LOT, AS SOON AS I STARTED THE TURN, MY CAR ACCELERATED DRAMATICALLY CAUSING THE CAR TO JUMP THE CURB AND HIT THE CONCRETE BASE OF A LIGHT POLE HEAD ON. AIRBAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED. INSURANCE DECLARED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. I DID CONTACT VW CUSTOMER CARE WHO HAS TOLD ME MY ISSUE HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED, HOWEVER, NEITHER VW OR MY INSURANCE COMPANY LOOKED ANY FURTHER AT THE VEHICLE FOR ISSUES.
AT 32,000 MILES THE CLUTCH STARTED SLIPPING. EVEN THOUGH COVERED UNDER WARRANTY I WAS TOLD MY MY LOCAL VW DEALER AND BY VW OF AMERICA THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO PULL THE CAR APART TO DETERMINE IF IT IS COVERED. IF THEY DETERMINE IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR IT WON'T BE COVERED AND I'M OUT $1100 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC. MEANWHILE THE VW FORUMS I'VE BEEN ON PINPOINT A WEAK CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE (DESIGN FLAW) AS THE SOURCE OF THE SLIPPING. THAT MAKES SENSE SINCE I'VE NEVER HAD A CLUTCH SLIP IN MY PREVIOUS 6 MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS AND TWO OF THOSE VEHICLES MADE IT TO OVER 200,000 MILES. THERE IS NO WAY A CLUTCH SHOULD GIVE UP AT 32,000 MILES. THE SLIPPING OCCURS WHILE ACCELERATING IN A HIGH GEAR WITH 4 PEOPLE IN THE CAR. IT JUST STARTED THIS WEEK, BUT IS ALREADY GETTING WORSE. NEITHER THE DEALER OR VWOA COULD TELL ME THE CRITERIA THEY USE TO DETERMINE IF A CLUTCH IS COVERED, BUT THE NICE VWOA REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT SHORT OF THE CLUTCH FAILING IN THE FIRST YEAR THEY RARELY COVER THE FAILURE. SO I'M LEFT WITH A WARRANTY THAT ISN'T WORTH THE PAPER IT'S PRINTED ON.
WAS TRAVELING AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED PREPARING TO PARK CAR WITH FOOT ON BREAK. WHEN SUDDENLY CAR ACCELERATED WELL MY FOOT WAS ON THE BREAK AND HOPED THE CURB. CAR WOULD NOT STOP AND HAD TO USE THE E BRAKE.
VIN NUMBER NOT ON RECALL. LIGHT OF AIR BAG IS ON.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE RIGHT KNEE THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONDITION OF THE OCCUPANTS IN THE OTHER VEHICLE WERE UNKNOWN. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO A TOW LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE DEALER (HANLEES HILLTOP TOYOTA, 3233 AUTO PLZ, RICHMOND, CA 94806, (510)-243-2020) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND HEARD A LOUD BOOM SOUND. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED IT A TOTAL LOSS. THE DRIVER WAS SLIGHTLY INJURED ALONG WITH THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE, BUT NEITHER MOTORIST RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS KEPT BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY FROM JULY TO OCTOBER 2018 BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE VEHICLE IN THE SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST UNTIL THEY HEARD FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE ORIGINAL VW BATTERY LEAKED AND CORRODED RTHE CABLES SHORTING OUT THE CAR REQUIRING A TOW. IT WOULD NOT TAKE A JUMP AND AFTER TAKING IT TO A VW DEALERSHIP, THE BATTERY, CABLES AND STARTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO MY PREVIOUS VW.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH THE CAR SUDDENLY BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE AND SLOWS TO A STOP. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND THE ACCELERATOR DOES NOT WORK. THE CAR WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART. IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SIT FOR 10-15 MINUTES IT WILL USUALLY RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST THREE TIMES.
THE REAR BRAKES CREATE A SUBSTANTIAL RESIDUE THAT IS NOTICEABLE OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AFTER EACH DRIVE. THE REAR BRAKES SQEAK AND SEEM TO BE WORN FROM THE GRINDING SOUND YET THE DISCS LOOK FINE. THE BRAKES DEFINITELY ARE FAULTY AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 17K ON IT. I HAVE ALSO GIVEN GONE THROUGH A TIRE AND SOON NEED TO REPAIR ANOTHER ONE FROM SIDE WALL DAMAGE AND IT IS AT THE SAME CONTACT POINT THAT THE WHEELS COME TO MEET THE OUTER TIRE. IT IS SLICING INTO THE TIRE BECAUSE OF HOW IT LAYS ON THE TIRE. SO THESE ALL MAY BE RELATED BUT THE REAR TIRES ARE NOT RIGHT. I HAVE A 1.8 SEL 17'ALLOY WHEELS WITH ALL/SEASON TIRES. THE SOUNDS COMENRANDOMLY BUT NOT WHEN BREAKING IN AN INCLINE OR FROM FAST SPEEDS.
VEHICLE PAUSES FOR UP TO 5 SECONDS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE ACROSS AN INTERSECTION OR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS FAILURE HAPPENS SPORADICALLY WHETHER ON A PUBLIC STREET OR HIGHWAY. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL OCCUR BUT HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES SEVERAL TIMES.
TAKATA RECALL- I AM IN DANGER BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY.
3 TIMES CAR POPPED OUT OF 3RD GEAR WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION, NOTHING IN PARTICULAR BROUGHT THIS ON (NO BUMP IN ROAD, ETC), CAR HAS LESS THAN 7K MILES, BROUGHT TO VW DEALERSHIP AND AFTER DRIVING IT ONLY TWO MILES, THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT EVEN INSPECT THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM. NOW THE ISSUE IS THAT SOMETIMES I CAN'T GET THE CAR INTO 3RD GEAR. CONTACTED NE VW REGIONAL MANAGER BECAUSE I WANTED IT IN WRITING THAT THEY WERE REFUSING TO SERVICE THE CAR. THOUGH I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE SENT A LETTER, I'VE RECEIVED NOTHING MORE THAN A MONTH LATER. OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THE CAR INCLUDE THE TURN SIGNAL SOMETIMES NOT TURNING OFF RIGHT AWAY-SOMETIMES IT BLINKS RIGHT, BLINKS LEFT AND THEN FINALLY TURNS OFF AFTER 1 MIN OR SO AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT GO UP WHEN WEATHER WAS HOT THIS PAST SUMMER.
AT ANY TIME, DAY OR NIGHT, ANY TIME OF THE YEAR, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, THIS CAR WILL FAIL TO ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE DELAY CAN BE AS LONG AS 5 SECONDS AND SINCE I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN, I FEEL THE VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE. IT CAN FAIL TO ACCELERATE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC COMING AT YOU FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THEIR WAY. I FEEL I TAKE MY LIFE IN MY HANDS EVERY TIME I STEP INTO THIS VEHICLE AND RECOMMEND THAT ON ONE EVER BUY ONE OF THESE DEATH TRAPS!!!!
GAUGE BACKLIGHT INTENSITY CONTROL VIOLATES "49 CFR 571.101 - STANDARD NO. 101; CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS" THIS REPORT IS ECHO FROM NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11025444 THAT ANOTHER JETTA HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. FIRST, BASIC ISSUE IS, AUTOMATIC GAUGE BACKLIGHT INTENSITY CONTROLS TILL ZERO WHILE DRIVING ON DAY TIME, BUT THE ZERO LEVEL UNDER DARKER AMBIENT LIGHTING SURROUND AREA IS PREVENTING DRIVER TO CHECK SPEED THAT VIOLATING THE REGULATION. SECOND, THE FACT THAT MANY OF VW MODELS WITH THIS LIGHTING SENSOR HAS THE SAME CONTROL OF THE GAUGE AND THIS REPORTING ISSUE IS NOT A SINGLE CAR OR A SINGLE MODEL YEAR ISSUE. IN MY CASE, BOTH 2016 AND 2017 HAS THE SAME ISSUE. THIRD, ADDITIONAL FACT I FOUND OUT IN THE NIGHT TIME, AT VERY DARK ENVIRONMENT, I HAVE FOUND THE GRAPHICAL LCD PANEL IN THE CENTER OF THE GAUGES, ENTERTAINMENT CONTROL LCD PANEL AND THE BOTH REV GAUGE AND SPEED GAUGE NEEDLES ARE ALSO CONTROLLED INTENSITY, BUT NEVER DARKER THAN THE BRIGHTNESS WHILE HEADLIGHT ON. WITH ABOVE FACT, I UNDERSTAND VW'S INTENTION AND IDEA IS RIGHT, CONTROLLING THE BACKLIGHT WHILE IN THE DAYTIME, BUT THE GAUGE BACKLIGHT IS WAY BELOW BRIGHTNESS THAN NIGHTTIME AND TILL ZERO BACKLIGHT, WHILE NEEDLES, GRAPHIC PANEL, AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM IS CONTROLLED AS IDEAL RANGE. SO FAR, VW OF AMERICA CUSTOMER CARE SAID THIS IS EXACTLY THE DESIGN, BUT ZERO INTENSITY BACKLIGHT IS VIOLATING THE REGULATION "S5.3.2 BRIGHTNESS OF ILLUMINATION OF CONTROLS AND INDICATORS" UNDER "49 CFR 571.101 - STANDARD NO. 101; CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS." I BELIEVE MY CAR IS THE RESULT OF A RECENT SERIES OF BAD STORMS TO HIT THIS COUNTRY AND MY CAR. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS A FLOOD-CAR THAT HAS BEEN VERY WELL CLEANED INSIDE AND OUT, AND CLEANED SO WELL THAT THE TITLE GOT A GOOD WASH, KNOWN IN THE INDUSTRY AS TITLE-WASHING. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE IT CARRIED A GUARANTEE MAKING IT A CERTIFIED USED CAR. A CAR THAT CARRIES A CERTIFIED USED TITLE OF CONDITION THEN ONE WOULD EXPECT NOTHING LESS THAN PERFECTION. HOW I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A FLOOD-CAR WAS THERE WAS WHAT LOOKED LIKE RIVER GRAVEL DEEP IN THE CARS DOOR SEAL AND THERE WAS A CLEAR WATER-LINE BEHIND WHERE THE MOVING PART OF THE STEERING-WHEEL ATTACHED TO THE CAR. NOW I'M UNSURE IF Y'ALL ARE ABLE TO HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION, EVEN IF IT'S TO STEER ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION TO FIND RESOLUTION TO MY FLOOD-CAR ISSUE. I REALLY WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK AND START ALL OVER WITH SOMETHING LESS PRONE TO FLOOD WATERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING 50 MPH, HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND QUICKLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S SON HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASHING INTO A LAMP POST. AS A RESULT, THE FRONT RIGHT FENDER WAS DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (TOYOTA COLLISION CENTER, 966 INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY BLVD, (386) 947-7800). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THIS CAR CONTINUES TO SPORADICALLY GO IN REVERSE WHILE I AM IN DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE WAITING IN LIKE AT A DRIVE THROUGH, FOOT ON BREAK WHILE IN DRIVE WHILE WAITING FOR FOOD, THEN TOLD TO PULL UP ONLY TO NEARLY BACK INTO THE CAR IN LINE BEHIND ME. HAD TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND SHUT OFF ENGINE- RESTART TO CORRECT PROBLEM. HAS HAPPENED WHILE FOOT ON BREAK AT RED LIGHT WHILE IN DRIVE, TOOK FOOT OFF BREAK WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN - CAR WENT INTO REVERSE WHILE DRIVE SHAFT "D" STILL LIT UP ALMOST BACKING INTO CAR BEHIND ME. AND AGAIN THIS HAPPENED WHILE BACKING UP IN MY APARTMENT PARKING LOT, PUT CAR INTO REVERSE TO BACK OUT, BREAK, WHEN TO PUT CAR INTO DRIVE AND CAR WENT INTO REVERSE. EACH TIME THE CAR HAS WENT INTO REVERSE WHILE IN DRIVE I HAVE HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR COMPLETELY AND RESTART TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD AND THREATENING TO MY CAR, MY SAFETY, AND OTHER DRIVERS. DEALERSHIP CANNOT RECREATE PROBLEM AND SAYS THEREFORE THERE IS NO PROBLEM, VW CUSTOMER CARE IS NO HELP EITHER AS THEY SIMPLY KEEP TELLING ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. START/STOP HYBRID MOTOR STARTING EVERY THREE SECONDS WHEN VEHICLE STOPPED. APPLICATION OF BRAKES MEETS WITH OCCASIONAL SURGE IN SPEED.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE NYLON BUSHING HAD FRACTURED AND JAMMED THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MAKE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
I DROVE INTO A PARKING LOT 27MARCH 2017 AND PROCEEDED TO PARK MY JETTA IN A PARKING SPOT HOWEVER, AS I WAS DOING SO THE CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD AND LEAPED THE CURB. I AM A VW FAN AND I AM HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH REGARDS TO MY VW JETTA 2016 1.4. EVER SINCE MY 1ST SERVICE I ADVISED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT MY BREAKS ARE MAKING A NOISE AND EVERY TIME THEY SAY IT WAS FINE. THERE IS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT LEFT SIDE WHEN IT IS SWITCHED ON AND STAYS ON AND GETS WORSE AS YOU DRIVE. WHEN I PURCHASE THE CAR THAT SOUND WAS NOT PRESENT. AGAIN I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, IT IS THAT WAY WAS MEAN TO SOUND THAT WAY AND THAT WAS NORMAL. I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH AND SPOKE TO VARIOUS PEOPLE THAT HAVE KNOWLEDGE ON VW AS WELL AS A PREVIOUS SERVICE MANAGER WHO TOLD ME THAT IS AN ISSUE THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO NO FACE IT. I WAS NOT PLEASE TO THEIR RESPOND THE CAR HAS 2,780 MILES ON IT AND 6 MONTHS SINCE I DROVE IT OUT OF THE LOT I ASK THAT SOMEONE DO REALLY NEED TO ADDRESS THIS. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WILL BE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM VW CORPORATION THAT WILL BE COMING AND THAT HE WOULD BE THE ONE TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. THIS SAY IN OCTOBER 2016 TODAY IS APRIL 2 2017. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT TO HAPPEN TO HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED I AM SURE I WILL TOLD NOW IS CLOSE TO YEAR OH YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THAT I WILL SIT WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY OF FIXING IT MYSELF. I SEE THAT HAPPENING I WANT MY CAR FIXED PROPERLY AS I NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH VW BEFORE BUT I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND WORRY ABOUT MY SAFETY.
