VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
AS A LESSOR OR 2013 VOLKSWAGON PASSAT SE, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH YOUR COMPANY FOR NOT INFORMING ME ABOUT AN IMPORTANT RECALL INFORMATION, IMPACTING MY SAFETY. I SEE THAT THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED IN FEB, 2016, BUT I HAVE'NT RECEIVED ANY NOTICE UNTIL NOW. PLEASE ISSUE ME A CREDIT FOR THIS BIG MISTAKE ON YOUR COMPANY'S PART. PLEASE WAIVE ALL MY CLOSING COST AND END OF LEASE FEES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V078000 (AIR BAGS). HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY CONNECTORS ON DRIVER SIDE ARE CAUSING THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT TO DISCONNECT AND NOT TURN ON BULB. HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS HEADLAMPS, NONE WERE BURNT OUT. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT SEVERAL TIMES, IT WAS DETERMINED THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY MAY BECOME LOOSE AND LOSE ELECTRICAL CONTACT. CALLED VW AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX BECAUSE MY VIN WAS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL # 94G8/7V, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V125000. VW STATED MY CAR WAS TESTED (ALTHOUGH THEY COULDN'T SAY WHEN, I HAVE NEVER HAD IT INSPECTED) AND THE ISSUE WAS NOT PRESENT IN MY VEHICLE, ALTHOUGH IT IS NOW. THE PROBLEM EXPRESSED ON THE RECALL IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CAR CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHT DOES NOT COME ON. REQUEST THE INVESTIGATION IS BROADENED TO INCLUDE MORE VEHICLES THAT MAY BE PRESENTING THE PROBLEM AFTER INITIAL INSPECTION. THE PROBLEM OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY WHETHER IT IS IN MOTION OR PARKED IN A GARAGE OVERNIGHT.
I HAVE OWNED MY 2013 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 3.6 SEL PREMIUM SINCE 6/10/16, AND VOLKSWAGEN NORTH AMERICA HAS NOT OFFICIALLY SENT ME DOCUMENTATION TO REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAGS.
STEERING WHEEL TOO TIGHT ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT. UNSAFE FEELING. AIR BAG LIGHT ON.
TAKATA RECALL - I JUST CALLED VW CORP OFFICE AND THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING TEMPORARY TRANSPORTATION UNTIL THE PART IS IN. THEY STATED "NHTSA ADVISED THEM THAT THERE WAS NO DANGER DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PART COMES IN WHICH IS WHY VW IS NOT PROVIDING A LOANER VEHICLE." PLEASE MAKE IT MANDATORY THAT THESE DEALERS PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE. IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. I OWNED A FORD WHICH HAD A RECALL FOR A SPEED SWITCH. FORD NEVER GOT THE PART IN SO THEY UNPLUGGED IT. WHEN I WENT TO HAVE MY VEHICLE SERVICED AT A LOCAL GARAGE. THEY PLUGGED THE PIECE BACK IN. LATER THAN MONTH THE SWITCH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BURN DOWN. THE VEHICLE NORMALLY WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE UNDERNEATH MY DAUGHTERS BEDROOM BUT THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS BEING REPAIRED AT THE BODY SHOP. THE NIGHT BEFORE PICKING IT UP IT HAD BURNT DOWN THERE AT THE BODY SHOP. SEVERAL PEOPLE DIED OVER THAT FORD RECALL BECAUSE FORD NEVER FIXED THE ISSUE. WE ARE NOT PROTECTING THE CONSUMER ON THIS TAKATA RECALL IF WE ARE NOT MANDATING REPLACEMENT VEH WHILE WAITING FOR THE PART. AGAIN VW STATED NHSTA TOLD THEM THE VEHICLE WAS OKAY TO DRIVE. AT THE VERY LEAST THE AIRBAG SHOULD BE REMOVED SO THAT IT DOES NOT EXPLODE METAL OBJECTS INTO SOMEONE'S FACE THUS KILLING THEM. PLS MANDATE EITHER A LOANER VEHICLE OR REMOVAL OF THE AIRBAG UNTIL THE AIRBAG CAN BE FIXED. REMOVAL OF THE AIRBAG SHOULD BE AN OPTION FOR THE CONSUMER. I HAVE AN ACURA & THEY ARE PROVIDING A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. NHTSA MUST MAKE BETTER DECISIONS ON BEHALF OF THE CONSUMERS SAFETY SINCE SOME OF THE AUTO MAKERS ARE ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT THERE PROFITS. AUTO MAKERS ARE SELLING NEW CARS WITH THIS DEFECTIVE AIRBAG EVEN THOUGH LEGISLATION HAS TRIED TO MAKE LAWS CONCERNING THE SALE OF AUTOS W/ ACTIVE RECALLS. I EXPECT MORE FROM NHTSA & OUR GOVT.
I HAD LEASE THIS CAR WITH THE INTENTION TO PURCHASE FOR THE RESIDUAL VALUE, SINCE MY WIFE AND MY SELF ARE RETIRED AND WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP SPENDING MONEY, DURING 36 MONTH I MADE MY PAYMENTS AND KEPT MY PART OF THE AGREEMENT, NOW VOLKSWAGEN DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY CANNOT SALE THE AUTO DUE TO BEEN RECALLED. NOW WHEN ITS TIME FOR VOLKSWAGEN TO COMPLY WITH THERE PART OF THE AGREEMENT, THEY REFUSE TO DO IT, ATTACHED IS A LETTER FROM THE DEALER TELLING ME THAT THEY HAVE A BUYER FOR MY VEHICLE, BUT THEY CANNOT SALE TO ME. THIS IS A FRAUDULENT TYPE OF LETTER.

CONSUMER STATES WANTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR BUY-BACK PROGRAM. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED TWO WEEKS AGO, THE NITROGEN EMISSIONS SENSOR CAME ON DUE TO THE ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM. *JB

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V078000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE A/C OF THIS VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON UNTIL THE ENGINE HEATED UP TO 190 DEGREES. I ONLY HAD 40K MILES WHEN THE A/C SYSTEM WOULD NOT WORK TO STANDARD. AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVER, EVACUATE AND RECHARGE NEEDED TO BE COMPLETED, THE EXPANSION VALVE AND DRIER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED..
TAKATA RECALL DEALERSHIP STILL HASN'T CONTACTED ME FOR THE REPAIR

AND IMMINENT DANGER...NO FURTHER RESPONSE TO INQUIRIES...AS OF JULY 14,2017 NO REMEDY AVAILABLE...CONCERNED FOR SAFETY OF OCCUPANTS AND OTHER DRIVERS...SUGGEST VW LIVE UP TO THEIR ACKNOWLEDGED RESPONSIBILITY AND PROVIDE EQUITABLE AND SAFE CAR TO DRIVE OR OTHERWISE COMPENSATE SO THAT I CAN REPLACE THEIR DANGEROUS VEHICLE. TAKATA RECALL I FIND IT DEEPLY CONCERNING THAT VOLKSWAGEN WANTS ME TO DRIVE AROUND IN A LEASED VEHICLE THAT THEY FIND SO UNSAFE, THEY REFUSE TO EVEN SELL THIS VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING ME THAT SHOULD I BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE MOST IMPORTANT SAFETY ASPECT OF THE CAR COULD ESSENTIALLY ACT AS A BOMB, BLOWING SHRAPNEL IN MY FACE. WITH NO CURRENT REPAIR SOLUTION AVAILABLE, VOLKSWAGEN REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY ALTERNATIVE PLANS TO MANAGE THIS SITUATION IN THE MEANTIME. MOST OTHER MANUFACTURERS HAVE BEEN PROACTIVE IN PREVENTING FURTHER INJURIES AND DEATHS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS BY PROVIDING ALTERNATE SOLUTIONS. LEFT WITH NO OTHER OPTIONS, I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AND PUT MY LIFE AT RISK DUE TO VOLKSWAGEN'S NEGLIGENCE.
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED THIS RECALL STATING THAT MY AIR BAG, SHOULD I BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, COULD EXPLODE SENDING METAL SHRAPNEL INTO MY FACE, AND THIS RECALL HAS NO REPAIR AVAILABLE YET. I CONTACTED VOLKSWAGEN ASKING FOR A RENTAL UNTIL THEY CAN REPAIR IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT SINCE NO VW OWNERS HAVE HAD ANY INJURIES THE RECALL IS VOLUNTARY. I FIND THIS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE TO DRIVE THIS CAR EVERY DAY TO AND FROM WORK AND WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. EACH TIME I GET BEHIND THE WHEEL I RUN THE POSSIBILITY OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH OCCURRING IF I SHOULD HAVE A COLLISION.
TAKATA RECALL WE RECEIVED THE TAKATA RECALL LETTER INFORMING US OF POTENTIAL HARM FROM DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. WE CALLED THE DEALER WHERE WE GOT THE CAR, THEY WERE NOT SYMPATHETIC, THEIR RESPONSE WAS "WE DONT KNOW, YOU'LL HAVE TO CALL SOMEWHERE ELSE. WE WERE TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS, SO THEY CANNOT REPAIR, THERE IS NO RECOURSE YET AND NO LOANERS WILL BE PROVIDED. WE CALLED VW CORP, AND WAS ADVISED THAT IN THEIR OPINION, THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE, AND THAT THEY THEMSELVES WOULD NOT PUT THEIR FAMILY IN THE CAR AND DRIVE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. THEY ALSO ADVISED NO RECOURSE AND NO LOANER. WE CALLED VW CREDIT, THEY SAID WE WOULD TURN OUR LEASE IN EARLY, BUT WOULD HAVE TO PAY EARLY TERMINATION FEES AND POSSIBLE BALANCE AT AUCTION. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A RENTAL FOR A DEFECT THAT WAS NOT OUR FAULT. WE WOULD LIKE TO EITHER TURN IN THE VEHICLE WITH NO FEES OR EARLY TERMINATIONS, OR BE PROVIDED A LOANER OR CAR RENTAL UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAN BE FIXED.

AN INDEPENDENT SALES COMPANY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALER TO SCHEDULE A RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO WAIT TO RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE INTERIM RECALL NOTICE MONTHS LATER, BUT HAD NOT RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER YET INDICATING THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS STILL UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE DEALER (JIM ELLIS VOLKSWAGEN ATLANTA, 5901 PEACHTREE BLVD, ATLANTA, GA 30341, (888) 848-3509) SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL REPAIR; HOWEVER, THE DEALER ONLY PUT A COVER OVER THE PART INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE PART. TWO YEARS LATER, THE HORN FAILED TO FUNCTION AND THERE WAS A SHORT ON THE RIBBON CABLE WIRING THAT AFFECTED THE STEERING WHEEL MOUNTED CONTROL FUNCTIONS. AS A RESULT, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLY FAILED. THE DEALER REFUSED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA18003 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED BY A DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.

"TAKATA RECALL" VW NEEDS TO FIX MY TAKATA AIRBAGS, THEY SAID THERE IS NOT A FIX RIGHT NOW AND IT CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO, WALK 150 MILES A DAY????
TAKATA RECALL - IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT MY CAR IS ONE OF MILLIONS THAT HAS A DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAG ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT HONDA AND MANY OTHER COMPANIES ARE OFFERING RENTAL CARS UNTIL THE ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED, AND HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED RENTALS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH VOLKSWAGEN DIRECTLY THEY INFORMED ME THAT "WE DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX YOUR CAR, OR KNOW WHEN THEY ARE COMING IN." THEY ALSO SAID WE AREN'T OFFERING RENTALS IN THE MEAN TIME. HOW IS A MASSIVE COMPANY LIKE VOLKSWAGEN ALLOWED TO LET THEIR CUSTOMERS DRIVE CARS THAT HAVE BEEN FOUND UNSAFE AND LEAD TO DEATHS? THE NSTHA NEEDS TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF ARE PROVIDED WITH SAFE CARS UNTIL THE PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED. IT IS THE NSTHA JOB TO ENSURE AMERICAN DRIVERS ARE SAFE AND KEEP A SKEPTICAL EYE ON LARGE CAR COMPANIES WHO HAVE A TRACK RECORD OF CUTTING CORNERS. IT IS NOT ETHICAL OR MORAL FOR A COMPANY TO NOT BE HELD TO THE SAME STANDARD AS OTHERS. MAKE VOLKSWAGEN CORRECT THE PROBLEM OR PROVIDE SAFE CARS.
"TAKATA RECALL" HELLO I JUST WANTED TO STATE THAT I LOVE MY CAR BUT I HAVE RECEIVED NOT ONE BUT TWICE A RECALL ON MY CAR. THE FIRST WAS ABOUT MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS BUT NOW THE DRIVER AIRBAG....? I FIRST LOOKED UP THE SEVERITY OF THE DEFECT TO FIND SERIOUS INJURIES AND EVEN DEATH HAS BEEN THE RESULT OF THE DEFECTED PART NOT PROPERLY WORKING... THIS IS VERY ALARMING BECAUSE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN WITH MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD AND IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE YOUR FAULT. SO I CALLED THE LOCAL VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT WHAT AM I TO DO HAVING THIS BY LAW UNSAFE VEHICLE NOTE MY ONLY VEHICLE IN WHICH I'M STILL PAYING FOR AND ONLY HAD A LITTLE OVER A YEAR WITH. I DRIVE MY CAR EVERYDAY AND AM AT RISK EVERYDAY WITH A WIFE AND CHILD WHO ALSO RIDE WITH ME AND MY WIFE DRIVES FROM TIME TO TIME. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE YET AND I WILL RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THEY DO. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN AND TRULY FEEL THAT VOLKSWAGEN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR AT LEAST OFFERING A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE DUE TO ITS THEIR ERROR FOR SAFETY INSPECTIONS AND CHECKS UNTIL THE MATTER IS RESOLVED. I EXPRESSED ALSO AFTER THEY DENIED ANY HELP OTHER THAN TO WAIT WOW ID RATHER HAD NOT KNOWN THAN TO HAVE TO GET IN MY CAR EVERYDAY WONDERING IF MY AIR BAG IS GOING TO KILL ME... TAKATA RECALL - IT'S BEEN MONTHS SINCE I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED. THE DEALERSHIP KEEPS TELLING ME I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I GET A SECOND LETTER FROM TAKATA. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE 80+ MILES A DAY.
2014 OR 2015 I RECEIVED A LETTER THAT MY AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING RECALL AND ANOTHER ABOUT AIRBAG RECALL.. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND THE CHARGER ME 1K FOR THE AIRBAG MODULE THE SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY.. THEY INFORMED ME.THAT IT HAD GOT WET.. I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHERE THE MODULE SENSOR IS.. PROPR TO ALL THIS I DID GET AN ERROR AIRBAG WARNING ON MY CAR BUT IT WENT A AWAY I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY NEVER INFORMED ME ABOUT THE AIRBAG MODULE SENSOR WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. THE SENSOR SHOULD NOT BE IN A PLACE WHERE I CAN GET IT WET.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL FROM VW REGARDING THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER CARE (800-893-5293). THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION. I WANT A LOANER VEHICLE OR A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FOR MY 20-YEAR OLD SON.

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
