"TAKATA RECAL" I CANNOT USE THE CAR DUE TO THE FACT THAT I OR ANY PASSENGERS MY BE KILLED IN ANY DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG POTENTIALLY. I AM AWAITING THE TDI BUYBACK BUT WOULD LIKE TO USE THE CAR WITH CONFIDENCE AND SAFETY. THE DEALER SAYS "DON'T GET IN AN ACCIDENT" DON'T WORRY WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY REPORTS OF DEATH.

WAS TOLD THERE WAS STILL NO FIX, BUT TO BRING THE CAR IN TO SEE WHY THE ERROR MESSAGE. PAYING FOR A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. RECALL NOTICE DATED FEBRUARY 9, 2016. TAKATA RECALL SUMMARY: TAKATA HAS REPORTED THAT THE DRIVER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD POTENTIALLY RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AND LANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE SEAT BELT RESTRAINED THE CONTACT AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A YARD BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED EXTENSIVELY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SPINE, NECK, AND BACK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL AS OF NOVEMBER 23, 2016 NO FIX WAS OFFERED BY VW DEALER
TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. RECALL WAS PUT OUT TO BE DONE OVER A YEAR AGO AND THE ISSUE STILL HASNT BEEN RESOLVED. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AND CANT FIGURE OUT WHY THERE STILLISNT A FIX YET.
TAKATA RECALL REC'D NOTICE 2/16 ABOUT RECALL ON AIR BAGS, NO FURTHER INFO HAS BEEN REC'D.
SOMETHING IS CAUSING THE HEATER CORE TO CLOG AND THAT REDUCES THE DEFROSTERS ABILITY TO WORK AND THEREFORE REDUCES VISIBILITY UNDER CERTAIN SCENARIOS. SUCH AS RAIN OR HIGH CABIN HUMIDITY. THE TSB TO REPLACE THE HEATER CORE DOES NOT SOLVE THE ROOT CAUSE SINCE THE HEATER CORE FAILS AGAIN AFTER SOME TIME.
THE TURBOCHARGER BLEW UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. PRIOR TO THE TURBOCHARGER BLOWING UP, THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS FROM THE CAR'S PERFORMANCE OR INDICATOR LIGHTS THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. WHEN THE TURBO SEIZED UP THE PRE-GLOW INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON SHORTLY FOLLOWED BY THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT. I PULLED THE CAR OFF TO THE SHOULDER AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY ACCUSED ME OF NOT MAINTAINING THE VEHICLE AND ASKED ME IF I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP DRAINED THE OIL FROM THE ENGINE AND SENT IT TO THEIR LAB AND HAD A VW REP COME OUT TO VALIDATE THEIR CLAIM THAT THE CAR WAS NOT MAINTAINED. AT NO POINT IN TIME DID THE DEALERSHIP TELL ME THAT VW HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS OR 120K MILES. MY PASSAT HAS 75K MILES AND HAS BEEN MAINTAINED, INCLUDING THE MOST RECENT OIL CHANGE AT 63K MILES. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE TURBOCHARGER WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY BASED ON THEIR ASSESSMENT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MAINTAINED SO I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO THE TUNE OF $2.3K. MY PERCEPTION FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF MY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE VW DEALERSHIP WAS THEY WERE BUILDING A CASE. I CALLED VW OF AMERICA AND CONFIRMED THAT MY VEHICLE IS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I FILED A CLAIM WITH VW OF AMERICA TO RECOUP THE ENTIRE $2.3K CHARGED TO MY CREDIT CARD AND DISPUTED THE CHARGE WITH AMEX. THE BURDEN OF PROOF FOR DENYING THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE TURBOCHARGED IS ON VW. THIS IS KNOWN ISSUED THAT VW HAS ACKNOWLEDGED AND UNDERWRITTEN WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE FACT THAT THERE NO INDICATIONS OF FAILURE ONLY MAKES THE SITUATION WORSE. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT CAUSED BY CAR'S SUDDEN DECELERATION. I WILL HEAR BACK VW TODAY WITH REGARD TO COMPENSATION. THAT SAID, I EXPECT NTSB TO APPLY PRESSURE ON VW TO STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY COVERAGE.

CONTACTED GUNTHER VW IN DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA REGARDING TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TO BE TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET FOR THIS RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL: MY CAR IS CURRENTLY UNDER THE TAKATA RECALL, DRIVER AIRBAG BEING AFFECTED AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY INFORMATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN REGARDS TO REPLACING THIS DEFECT. IT WAS SENT OUT IN FEBRUARY 2016 AND I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE THAT MY CAR HAD A RECALL. I FOUND OUT FROM A FAMILY MEMBER WHOM ALSO HAS THE SAME RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO BE MADE AWARE OF WHEN A REPLACEMENT FOR THIS DEFECT WILL BE AVAILABLE OR TO BE PROVIDED WITH BUYBACK OPTIONS ON THIS VEHICLE, AS IT IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THIS DEFECT.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN THE AIRBAG RECALL. I CONTACTED MY DEALER (CRAIN VW OF FAYETTEVILLE) AND WAS TOLD THAT AT THIS TIME THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE AIR BAG RECALL. I CALLED SEVERAL MONTHS LATER AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING WITH AN ADDED JOKE OF NOT TO BE INVOLVED IN A CRASH. NOW IT IS A YEAR AND 3 MONTHS AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NEW AIR BAG FOR MY VEHICLE AND DO NOT EXPECT TO RECEIVE ONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN AND READ REGARDING THE RECALL. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. TAKATA RECALL. MY AIRBAG INFLATOR HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED IN OVER A YEAR-AND-A-HALF SINCE THE RECALL STARTED. EVERY TIME I CALL VOLKSWAGEN THEY TELL ME THERE'S NO FIX AVAILABLE. I LIVE IN ARIZONA WHERE IT'S HOT AND DRY CAN'T TRADE IN MY CAR CAUSE THE TRADE IN VALUE HAS PLUMMETED DO TO SAFETY CONCERNS AND NON DRIVABILITY.
TAKATA RECALL. VW ON FREEWAY WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND PUSHED VERY HARD INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. TAKATA AIRBAG DEPLOYED (DRIVER'S SIDE ONLY). AIRBAG SENT METAL SHRAPNEL INTO FACE OF DRIVER. DRIVER [XXX] SUFFERED SERIOUS AND PERMANENT FACIAL LACERATIONS. ATTORNEY [XXX], LAW FIRM, PC, IS MAKING THIS CLAIM FOR [XXX]. PROCESS PER THE TKA SGO.PCO 05/2017. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
THE HEATER CORE IN MY CAR HAS BECOME CLOGGED AND IS NOW FAILING TO PRODUCE HEAT FOR INSIDE THE CAR AND IN TURN IS FAILING TO DEFROST THE WINDOWS WHEN THEY BECOME FOGGED. I HAVE READ MANY CASES FROM ONLINE FORUMS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED VW CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY ADVISED THEY CANNOT HELP WITH THE PROBLEM. MY CAR HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT AND THE HEATER CORES IN THESE CARS SHOULD NOT BE FAILING ALREADY. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION AND WHILE STATIONARY.

NEEDS REPLACEMENT OF DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR ( DEFECTIVE).

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. AFTER PARKING OVERNIGHT, DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN USING EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. OPENING DOOR FROM INSIDE RELEASED LATCH, OPENING DOOR, BUT FRAYED A CABLE. FRAYED CABLE RESULTED IN DOOR LATCH STUCK OPEN, UNABLE TO LATCH DOOR CLOSED. VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE AND LATCH PROPERLY. THE PROBLEM IS WATER AND MOISTURE ENTERING THE LATCH AND FREEZING. I DISASSEMBLED THE INNER DOOR PANEL TO CLOSE LATCH AND DRIVE TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. VW HAS AN UPDATED PART TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. A FAILED LATCH COULD CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE.
NO HEAT COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS WAS FOUND OUT WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A VERY COLD DAY AND NOT HAVING THE DEFROST WORKING VERY WELL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. TAKING IT TO THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE HEATER CORE IS CLOGGED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS A MONTH AGO. I FOUND OUT THAT THE PARTS WERE BACK ORDERED AND THAT I WAS #502 IN LINE FOR A REPLACEMENT.
FOR FOUR MONTHS NOW I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FROM VW. I TRY TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED, BUT AM TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. TODAY I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER FROM VW SAYING I NEED TO GET THIS DONE ASAP, BUT WHEN I CALL, THE PARTS ARE NPT AVAILABLE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO GET THESE PARTS BEFORE ANOTHER FATALITY OCCURES.
TAKATA RECALL: DAUGHTER DRIVE CAR TO COLLEGE. RECEIVED RECALL 1YR AGO FROM 12-12-16 STILL NO AIR BAGS AVAILABLE AT DEALER. HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TO FIX THIS CAR. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE IN MY CAR FIRST?
THE DEFROST IS ONLY WORKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND IT ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF CAR. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD FROSTS UP WHILE DRIVING IN COLD WEATHER.
IN LOW TEMPERATURES, DOORS OFTEN WILL NOT UNLOCK. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES WHILE BEING INSIDE THE CAR. POSSIBLE SERIOUS HAZARD AFTER AN ACCIDENT.
I HAVE HAD ON AND OFF TROUBLE WITH MY LEFT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FOR THE LAST YEAR. I LOOKED TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL 94G8/7V AND I WAS TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED. I HAD THE BULBS REPLACED AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. THE LOW BEAM CONSISTENTLY GOES ON AND OFF ESPECIALLY IN THE COLDER MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO THE VW PLACE TO HAVE THEM CHECK IT AND THEY TOLD ME I JUST NEED A NEW LIGHT. I HAD JUST HAD THEM BOTH REPLACED SO I DON'T THINK THIS IS THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THE RECALL SHOULD BE OPENED UP TO MORE 2013 VEHICLES.
THIS RECALL IS YEARS OLD. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR QUITE A WHILE. IT HAS BEEN ON THE TAKATA AIRBAG REPLACEMENT LIST FOR A LONG TIME. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR AND I AM FEARFUL OF HER GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT AND SUFFERING UNDUE INJURY BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL THAT HAS NOT BEEN RECTIFIED. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER. THEY OFFER NO HELP.
TWICE I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS.

The contact stated that on multiple occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and multiple unknown safety lights are illuminated on the dash. The vehicle was able to restart. On another occasion, while parked the vehicle stalled and multiple safety lights were illuminated again. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact believes that the failure is associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). The manufacturer was notified and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 150,100.
2013 PASSAT TDI DIESEL LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING IS DOWN A CITY STREET. ONCE I PULLED OFF THE ROAD ENGINE LIGHT AND SERVICE NOW LIGHT WERE ON. A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OCCURRED IN THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP . THUS OCCURRED IN EULESS TEXAS. VW WILL NOT COVER MY INDECENT UNDER A WARRANTY EXTENSION. THEY WILL COVER 2012 MODELS MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED BEFORE JULY 2012 BUT HAS A 2013 LISTING. AS OF 12/17 NO REPAIR SCHEDULED DUE TO $6,000 COST.
THE HEATER CORE PLUGS UP BECAUSE OF FLUX LEFT IN COOLING SYSTEM COMPONENTS. THE FRONT WINDOWS WON'T CLEAR BECAUSE OF NO HEAT FROM PLUGGED HEATER CORE CREATING UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. VW NOT COVERING ALL COST TO PROPERLY REPAIR THIS PROBLEM.
HEATER CORE WAS DAMAGED BY DEFECTIVE COOLANT FROM FACTORY.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. CONTROL ON STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T WORK.
