TAKATA RECALL .LIKE 6 MONTHS AGO WAS GHANGE OIL ON DEALER,AND WAS ASK ABOUT TRADE IN MY CAR BUT THEY GIVE ME A SMALL PRICE BECAUSE MY CAR HAS RECALL !!!THEY DID NOT PROPOUSE ME NOTHING TO FIX OR CHGANGE OR DO MY PROBLEM!!I HAVE TWO KIDS IM WORRY ABOUT MY SAFETY PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS OR VOLKSWAGON CONCERNING THE DRIVER TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. I DISCOVERED THE RECALL BY RESEARCHING ONLINE. I CALLED VOLKSWAGON OF AMERICA AT 1-800-822-8987. CASE # 170074388. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL EXISTS. THE TOOK MY INFORMATION. I ASKED FOR A REMEDY. THE RECALL FIX IS NOT AVAILABLE. I ASKED FOR MY OTHER LEGAL REMEDIES CONSIDERING THE RECALL HAS BEEN SINCE FEBRUARY 2, 2016. I ASKED FOR THE AIRBAG TO BE DISMANTLED AT THE DEALERSHIP OR TO RECEIVE A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. A RENTAL/REPLACEMENT VEHICLE WAS DENIED. I DID NOT ASK FOR A REFUND AS YET. I WOULD LIKE ASSISTANCE WITH ASSERTING MY LEGAL RIGHTS TO DRIVE A SAFE VEHICLE. THE PREFERRED REMEDY IS A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THE RECALL FIX IS READY OR A REFUND. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, THE AUDIO SYSTEM FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,528.
TAKATA RECALL. APPARENTLY MY CAR HAS HAD THIS RECALL FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND IT REALLY BOTHERS ME THAT VOLKSWAGEN NEVER BOTHERED TO NOTIFY ME. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE REPLACED THIS CAR MONTHS AGO HAD I KNOWN. I THOUGHT THEY HAD 60 DAYS TO NOTIFY US? *TR
STOPPED AT INTERSECTION AT GREEN LIGHT IDLING WHEN I WENT TO PUT ON THE GAS THE CAR STALLED. RESTARTED THE CAR AND WOULD NOT WORK. STUCK IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH POTENTIAL OF CAUSING OTHER ACCIDENTS. VW SAID THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO AN UPDATE AND AFTER AN UPDATE WAS DONE THAT I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE CAR WAS FIXED.
THE CAR STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25MPH AND THEN WOULD NOT START. UPON INSPECTION, VW INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE METAL FLAKES IN THE FUEL SYSTEM REQUIRING A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL SYSTEM AT A COST OF $7500. *TR
TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE
MY CAR HAS OIL LEAK. I WENT TO PUENTE HILLS VOLKSWAGEN FOUR TIME. AFTER REPLACE TWICE REAR SEAL AND OIL SEPARATOR. THE ENGINE IS STILL LEAK. I WENT TO LOCAL MECHANIC TO DO INSPECT. THE LEAKING IS JUST FROM BIG LEAK TO SMALL LEAK. I DID TAKE A PICTURE AND EMAIL TO VW USA. THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. EVEN WITH WARRANTY REPAIR, THE CAR COULD NOT FIX.

TAKATA RECALL JUST READ THAT IT MAY TAKE OVER 3 MORE YEARS FOR THE FIX OF THE AIRBAGS. I PLANNED TO TRADE THIS VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER ONE. NOW WAITING 3 YEARS FOR A FIX WILL LOWER THE VALUE OF MY CAR. IS THERE A SOONER TIME FRAME THEN 3 ADDITIONAL YEARS.

TAKATA RECALL NO SOLUTION TO REMEDY THE POSSIBILITY OF KILLING MY CHILD IN A CRASH. WE CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR WITH OUR CHILD FULL KNOWING OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN. VW HAS DONE NOTHING. AND NOTHING IN SIGHT. WE ARE VERY UPSET THERE ARE NO ANSWERS. WE KNEW OF THE RECALL SINCE 6/16. WE JUST TOOK CAR IN FOR A SERVICE AND LEARNED THE SEVERITY OF IT ALL. VOLKSWAGEN STILL IS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY TIMING OR PLAN FOR WHEN THEY CAN REPLACE THE DANGEROUS AIRBAG THAT I SIT BEHIND FOR 500 MILES EVERY WEEK.

TAKATA RECALL: WHEN I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AROUND THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXEDA FEW MONTHS LATER. WHEN I ARRIVED, NOBODY BOTHERED TO INFORM ME THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THIS WAS MAYBE IN MAY. RECENTLY, I CALLED VW OF AMERICA ABOUT THE SAFETY CONCERN. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT BUY THE CAR BACK FROM ME OR SWAP IT OUT FOR ANOTHER CAR BUT GAVE NO EXPLANATION. WHEN I CALLED CHERRY HILL VOLKSWAGEN TO ASK WHY, IF THE CAR WAS SO SAFE THEY WOULD NOT BUY IT BACK FROM ME, THE SALESPERSON WAS RUDE TO ME AND CLAIMED I KNEW WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS AS I WAS UNAWARE OF THE RECALL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CHILDREN AROUND IN THIS CAR. *TR
"TAKATA RECALL" AS THE TAKATA RECALL HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SOMETIME, MY FAMILY CAR WAS OFFICIALLY RECALLED IN FEBRUARY OF 2016 - WITH THE RESULTS OF AIRBAG RUPTURE BEING "SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH". TO DATE (DEC. 16) THERE IS NOT A REMEDY TO THIS RECALL. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS VW CORPORATE, THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION, BUT ARE NOT OFFERING ANY FORM OF ALTERNATE VEHICLE OR COMPENSATION/PAYMENT RELIEF. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE USING THIS VEHICLE IN HOPES THAT WE DO NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR A SUDDEN RUPTURE OF THE BAG. I HAVE ALSO LOOKED AT THE POSSIBILITY OF TRADING MY VEHICLE IN FOR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE, BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT SELL MY VEHICLE WITH OPEN RECALL, SO THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO TAKE IT IN ON TRADE. ALSO, WHILE DEALERS OF OTHER MAKES HAVE BEEN WILLING TO TAKE THE TRADE, THE VALUE DUE TO RECALL HAS DECREASED SUBSTANTIALLY TO THE POINT WHERE I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT TO GET INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. VW NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THE VEHICLES AND COME UP WITH A SAFE ALTERNATIVE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.

WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE REACHES BELOW 30 DEGREES F THE DRIVER SIDE LOCK FREEZES MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THIS DOOR. ONLY MEANS OF ENTRY AND EGRESS IS THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. INVESTIGATION OF THIS ISSUE, LED TO COUNTLESS WEBSITES AND FORUMS THAT ADDRESS THIS SAME CONCERN WITH DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK FREEZING ON VOLKSWAGEN PRODUCTS. COULD LEAD TO A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE EXISTING THE VEHICLE.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I LOOKED UP A SIMILAR ISSUE ON NHTSA WEBSITE (15V483000 CAMPAIGN) WITH A STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING ISSUE FOR MULTIPLE VW VEHICLES. IT LISTED 'SOME' 2014 PASSAT'S AS BEING AFFECTED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT MY VIN WAS NOT LISTED AS BEING EFFECTED, HOWEVER IT HAS TO GIVEN IT IS THE SAME MAKE/MODEL AS THIS NHTSA CAMPAIGN. PLEASE CONSIDER REVIEWING AND EXPANDING THIS RECALL. VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD AND IT IS CLEARLY THE SAME ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED EXTREME HEADACHES AND NAUSEA CONTINUOUSLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE LEAKED CARBON MONOXIDE. THE DEALER REPLACED A HOSE, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE DRIFTED INTO THE CONTACT'S LANE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A CEMENT DIVIDER. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND A WHITE, POWDERY SUBSTANCE FLEW INTO THE EYES OF THE CONTACT AND HIS WIFE, FOLLOWED BY METAL FRAGMENTS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT'S WIFE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HIP AND STOMACH, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION, FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL ARM, AND AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO JOE MACHENS VOLKSWAGEN (1200 VANDIVER DR, COLUMBIA, MO 65202, (855) 301-6700), BUT THE NATURE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIRS COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000. *TT *TR CONSUMER STATED CUSTOMER EXITED TO A REST AREA, MISSED A TURN AND AT LAST MINUTE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE TURN, HITTING A CURB. MY TURBO FAILED IN THE CAR WITH NO WARNING WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE GLOWPLUG LIGHT STARTED BLANKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.
MY LEASED VW PASSAT 2014 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FIXED BY THE DEALER AND WAS FROM A FAULTY EXHAUST FLAP. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $485 FOR THE FLAP; TILL 2012 THE SAME PART WAS GIVEN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UPTO 120,000 MILES BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE FAILURES; SO AFTER THE "FIX", THE SAME PART (TWO MODEL YEARS LATER) HAS FAILED AT 60,000 MILES; VW CUST SUPPORT DOES NOT WANT TO COVER THE REPAIR ON MY CAR AS THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM FOR THE 2014 MODEL. I THINK IT IS VERY UNUSUAL FOR AN EXHAUST PART TO FAIL LIKE THIS SPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN "FIXED". I AM LOOKING FOR SOME HELP IN UNDERSTANDING WHY VW IS NOT EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON THE SAME PART ON THE 2014 CAR WHEN IT WAS BEING COVERED TILL 2012 AND SUPPOSEDLY RESOLVED. VW CAN IGNORE INDIVIDUAL COMPLAINTS AND I AM SURE THAT THEY WOULD NOT SHARE WITH ME IF THERE HAVE BEEN MORE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS. I WAS OFFERED TO RETURN MY CAR FROM A LEASE WITH 7 MONTHS LEFT, THROUGH THE VW EARLY BUYBACK PROMOTION. THIS IS WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO A DANGEROUS RECALL, WHICH COULD CAUSE DEATH, AND THAT NO FIX WAS AVAILABLE FOR IT AT THIS TIME. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET ABOUT THIS REPORT AND VW BRUSHED MY COMPLAINT BY SAYING THAT I ONLY HAD 7 MONTHS LEFT TO PAY AND I COULD RETURN THE VEHICLE. I FEEL THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE AND AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH DRIVING CAR ANYMORE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
VOLKSWAGEN DID NOT ISSUE A RENTAL CAR TO ME. I HAVE NO ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION. I ALSO LIVE IN A HUMID ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IS MORE OF A RISK.

TAKATA RECALL - RECALL FEB 2016 OVER 8 MONTHS AGO. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND UNDERSTAND HIGH HUMIDITY MAKES IT MORE LIKELY. PARTS NOT YET AVAILABLE. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? I LEASE THE VEHICLE THROUGH VW.
TWICE, ON MAY 12 AND ON OCTOBER 22, WHILE IN A PARKING LOT AND PULLING INTO A VERTICAL PARKING SPOT AT VERY LOW SPEED, I TAPPED THE ACCELERATOR, AND SUDDENLY THE CAR RAPIDLY SPED UP. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND I HIT A BRICK PLANTER THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, AND I HIT THE POST HOLDING UP THE FRONT OF A BUILDING THE SECOND TIME. THE BRAKE PEDAL ON THE PASSAT IS APPROXIMATELY 3" WIDE AND LOCATED ONLY AN INCH OR SO FROM THE ACCELERATOR. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT I HIT BOTH PEDALS WHILE TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT THAT DOES NOT EXPLAIN THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO JUMP THE CURB AND HIT THE PLANTER AND THE BUILDING. FRIGHTENING SITUATION. I WASN'T INJURED THE FIRST TIME BUT WAS FAIRLY WELL SHAKEN UP THE SECOND. THE BODY SHOP SAID THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME EACH TIME. I TOOK THE CAR TO T HE VW DEALER AFTER THE FIRST ACCIDENT, BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG.

TAKATA RECALL: VW TRAVELING IN RIGHT MOST LANE OF 4 LANE CITY STREET WHEN VEHICLE IN OPPOSING LANE MADE AN ILLEGAL LEFT ON TURN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE TO THE LEFT OF VW. VW IMPACTED TURNING VEHICLE IN MIDDLE OF PASSENGER SIDE. ACCIDENT REPORT ATTACHED. DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER/STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG RESULTED IN SEVER GASH TO DRIVER'S LEFT HAND - PHOTOS ATTACHED.
ON 10-20-16 AT 6:00PM, VEHICLE ENGINE STUMBLED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING IN MIDDLE OF 6 LANE FREEWAY AT RUSH HOUR. TRAVEL SPEED AT TIME OF STALL 40MPH, ADJACENT EXIT LANE WAS MOVING AT 65 MPH PLUS. HAD TO COAST THROUGH TRAFFIC TO EMERGENCY LANE. WOULD NOT RESTART. TOWED TO DEALER. DIAGNOSED AS CATASTROPHIC HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILURE. FUEL DIAGNOSIS ACCEPTABLE. DESPITE EARLIER MODELS HAVING EXTENDED WARRANTY MY VIN # APPARENTLY IS NOT INCLUDED (MANUFACTURED 8-2013, ENGINE MANUFACTURE DATE UNKNOWN TO ME). ODOMETER READING 60,846 MILES, POWERTRAIN WARRANTY 60,000 MILES. SERVICED AT DEALER ON 10-12-16 AT 59,833 MILES INCLUDING FUEL FILTER. VWOA DENIED ANY WARRANTY CLAIM, LATER AGREED TO 50% OF COST. I PAID $2,843.16 ALL SERVICES PERFORMED, FUELED AT LOCAL STATION ALL RECEIPTS KEPT. FAILED PUMP PART NUMBER03L-130-755-AB. REPLACED WITH P/N 03L-130-851-HX. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FEATURES ON THE STEERING WHEEL WERE NO LONGER OPERATIONAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V483000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

I WAS TURNING MY STEERING WHEEL TO PARK AND HEARD A NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL THAT SOUNDED LIKE A WIRE STRETCHING. AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON DASHBOARD. VEHICLE TAKEN TO VW DEALER. DEALER STATES 'AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING' BROKEN. A NHTSA RECALL EXISTS FOR 2014 VW PASSAT, YET MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN IT? NHTSA WEBSITE STATES RECALL CLOSED, YET MY 2014 PASSAT HAS A DEFECTIVE CLOCKSPRING. HOW CAN THIS BE? DEALER NOW WANTS $700 TO REPAIR AND MY LIFE IS IN DANGER. PLEASE REOPEN THIS RECALL OF THE 2014 VW CLOCKSPRING ISSUE SINCE IT IS NOT COMPLETE AND IS PUTTING LIVES AT RISK.
TAKATA RECALL - SO WHEN WILL THE FIX BE AVAILABLE? IN THE MEANTIME, I AM DRIVING AROUND WITH A BOMB IN MY STEERING WHEEL? CAN WE HAVE THE AIRBAG DISCONNECTED UNTIL THE TAKATA REPAIR IS AVAILABLE? NO AIR BAG WOULD BE BETTER THAN ONE THAT KILLS THE DRIVER.
BACK UP CAMERA, RADIO DO NOT WORK ON A REGULAR BASIS. HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES IN THE FIRST YEAR BUT THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A WEIRD BLIP. BLUE TOOTH DISABLES MY ABILITY TO MAKE OR RECEIVE A CALL WHILE IN THE CAR. RADIO CUTS OFF OR NEVER COMES ON WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY. TELEPHONE VOICE COMMAND IS STUCK IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND EVEN DEALER COULDN'T GET IT TO CHANGE BACK TO ENGLISH COMMANDS. DRIVERS DOOR LOCK STICKS AND WON'T OPEN FROM OUTSIDE AND SOMETIMES INSIDE. NEED TO GET OUT ON PASSENGER SIDE. SOMETIMES GETTING IN I HAVE TO GO TO PASSENGER SIDE AND CAN OPEN FROM INSIDE. DAYS CAN PASS AND THINGS WORK OK AND THEN OUT OF NO WHERE, THEY DON'T WORK?? MAYBE ELECTRICAL OR SOFTWARE ISSUE??
