BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THEN HEADLIGHTS BEGAN TO DARKEN,POWER STEERING FAILED, ABS BRAKE LIGHT WARNING CAME ON, AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, TPMS LIGHT CAME ON, LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON, ENGINE BECAME SLUGGISH WITH LITTLE ACCELERATION, SPEEDOMETER WENT OUT AND ALL LIGHTS IN CAR WENT OUT. I COULD BARELY CONTROL, MOVE OR TURN CAR. THIS HAPPENED AFTER MY 40K MILE SERVICE 4 DAYS AGO. EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT FINE AT THAT TIME.
TAKATA RECALL. THIS VEHICLE IS FOR SALE AT A DEALERSHIP AND THE AIRBAG INFLATOR HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED YET. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS WAITING FOR THE AIRBAG PARTS SO THE DEALER CAN REPLACE THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I WAS INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THE CAR UNTIL I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL AND THE AIRBAG HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. ACCORDING TO YOUR NHSTA STATEMENT, THE AIRBAG SHOULD BE REPLACED IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE SEATTLE DEALERSHIP IS STILL WAITING TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG WHICH MEANS IT IS NOT BEING REPLACED TIMELY. THEY HAD NO EXPECTED DATE FOR A NEW AIRBAG TO COME IN FOR REPLACEMENT.
TODAY I RECEIVED AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" FROM VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA INFORMING ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS THE SUBJECT OF SAFETY RECALL 23T3 - NHTSA: 16V171 RELATING TO IMPROPERLY ASSEMBLED WIRE SEALS WHICH CAN CAUSE THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) TO ILLUMINATE. SINCE THE MIL HAS RECENTLY ILLUMINATED IN MY VEHICLE I CONTACTED NAPLES VOLKSWAGEN IN NAPLES, FLORIDA TO HAVE MY VEHICLE INSPECTED/REPAIRED PER THE SAFETY RECALL. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE WRITER, CHARLES, THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED $128.00 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I THOUGHT THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING VEHICLES WHICH ARE SUBJECT TO A SAFETY RECALL.

I WAS SENT A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 69M9 FOR TAKATA SDI DRIVER FRONTAL AIRBAG IN APRIL OF 2016; AS OF 9/16/16 THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL. I DRIVE MY CAR EVERYDAY WITH TWO LITTLE CHILDREN. I AM OUTRAGED THAT I HAVE TO HOPE FOR THE BEST. OTHER MANUFACTURERS HAVE MANAGED GET PARTS TO FIX THIS ISSUE ON OTHER VEHICLES. WHY NOT VW?
TAKATA RECALL- I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN APRIL 2016. I WENT TO THE DEALER AT THAT TIME AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER JULY 11, 2016. I JUST RETURNED FROM THE DEALER, WHERE THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS. THE RECALL NOTICE STATES THAT AN INFLATOR RUPTURE CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THE VOLKSWAGEN DEALER, VOLKSWAGEN OF MURRIETA (CALIFORNIA), REFUSED TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR FOR USE UNTIL THE DEFECT IS REPAIRED.
WHEN I GOT PASSAT SE I DID RESEARCH AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A SAFE CAR. MY FIRST PRIORITY TO LEASE A CAR WAS SAFETY. ON APRIL 2016 I GOT A LETTER FROM VW THAT AIRBAG ON FRONT IS NOT SAFE AND IT MAY CAUSES SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. IT BEEN ALMOST 10 MONTHS AND STILL THERE IS NO WORDS ON WHEN IT WILL BE FIX. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IF I GET IN ACCIDENT AND DIE? WHO WOULD FULFILL MY PLACE FOR MY KIDS? I WANT TO CHANGE THE CAR OR HAVE VW BUY MY CAR BACK. I WANT TO LIVE WITH MY FAMILY NOT DIE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED RIGHT AWAY. I GOT IN ACCIDENTAND THE FRONT AIRBAG DID NOT OPEN UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT END SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

TAKATA RECALL - I WANT TO BE ABLE TO EXCHANGE OUT OF MY LEASE WITH VW CREDIT INTO A NEWER 2016 VW THAT IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL. VW IS DENYING MY REQUEST AND SAYING MY LEASE IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. HOWEVER, ON PAGE 2 UNDER EARLY TERMINATION LIABILITY", IT CLEARLY STATES I AM ABLE TO GET OUT OF MY LEASE IF THERE IS "IRREPARABLE DAMAGE" (THIS IS THE RECALL THAT HAS NO REMEDY} MY 2014 PASSAT WAS HIT ON THE 101 FREEWAY AT 55 MPH AND THANKFULLY I WAS NOT INJURED. AFTER TWO MONTHS IN THE REPAIR SHOP, THEY ALMOST TOTALED IT, BUT DID NOT. THEN, I NOTED THE RECALL AS WELL ON THE 2014 VW> I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AND DO NOT WANT TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT KNOWING THE NEXT TIME I COULD DIE DUE TO AIRBAG INFLATING. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS WITH VW CREDIT AND GROUP OF AMERICA.
WHEN WILL THE AIR BAG BE FIXED FROM VOLKSWAGEN.. NO WORD .. DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE KNOWING THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED..
A RECALL FOR THE FRONT DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MY VEHICLE. THE RECALL WAS POSTED ON FEBRUARY OF 2016 HAS THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT PROVIDED A REMEDY AS OF NOW. DUE TO THIS I AM NOT ABLE TO OBTAIN A CITY INSPECTION REQUIRED FOR MY VEHICLE WHICH IN TURN I AM NOT ABLE TO WORK. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE VW DEALER TOLD ME THE RECALL WAS FIXED PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. I AM REQUESTING A REMEDY FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE IMMEDIATELY OR THE MANUFACTURER TO REPLACE MY VEHICLE THAT IS SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE.
I OWN A VW PASSAT TDI 2014 AND JUST BEFORE I TOOK IN FOR IT'S 40000 MILE CHECK UP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SHOWED UP. THEY TELL ME IT'S THE ADBLUE HEATER THAT IS AT FAULT. IT SEEMS THIS IS A VERY FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH TDI OWNERS. IT'S ALSO A +$1000 FIX. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS YOUR AGENCY HAS HAD HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. HOW MANY HAVE TO COMPLAIN UNTIL YOUR AGENCY STEPS IN AND MAKES THIS AN ISSUE TO VW OF AMERICA? THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN FIXING THIS PROBLEM AND OFFERING OWNERS SOME RELIEF. WELL AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T AFFECT MY MILEAGE I COULD CARE LESS. THE BALLS IN YOUR COURT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V483000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000. UPDATED 10/13/16*LJ
TOOK OUR 2014 PASSAT TDI IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON 7/18/16 AFTER TESTING A FAULT CODE OF P2196 INDICATED AN 02 SENSOR WAS FAULTY. NEGOTIATED TO $300 TO REPAIR/REPLACE UNIT. PICKED UP VEHICLE ON 7/21/16 AFTER REPAIR WAS MADE. ON 8/3/16 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AGAIN CAME ON. RETURNED TO DEALER AND THEY INDICATE THAT THE ADBLUE HEATER ELEMENT WAS FAULTY. RECOMMEND REPLACING AT A COST OF CLOSE TO $1,000.00. SINCE THIS IS PART OF THE EMISSIONS ISSUE WE FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER ANY AND ALL WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAS 48,875 MILES ON IT AND IS ONLY 2 1/2 YEARS OLD.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED NOTICE CONCERNING A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG FOR MY VEHICLE BUT WHEN I CALLED VW SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS NOT BEEN MADE AVAILABLE. MY CONCERN IS, IF I OR MY DAUGHTER OR HUSBAND WAS TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, SEVERELY INJURING OR KILLING MY FAMILY, INSTEAD OF THE AIRBAG SAVING THEM, I'M GOING TO FILE AGAINST VW. JUST UNDER 80,000 MILES ON CAR. TDI DIESEL ENGINE. HIGH PRESSURE DIESEL PUMP FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. ENGINE STALLED IMMEDIATELY. LUCKILY I WAS NOT IN HEAVY TRAFIC AT THE TIME AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER OF ROAD. I WAS JUST TURNING RIGHT ONTO 4 LANE DIVIDED ROAD FROM BUSSINES PARKING LOT. ENGINE STALLED MID TURN.
I WAS INFORMED BY VOLKSWAGEN THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN LISTED AS A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS DEFECT. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE ISSUE AT THE PRESENT BUT THEN RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING I WAS ELIGIBLE FOR AN UPGRADE. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE, THEY INFORMED ME THAT I WAS ELIGIBLE FOR THE UPGRADE, TRADE UP BUT WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A DOWNPAYMENT. I WAS TOLD VW COULD NOT REPLACE THE AIRBAG WITHOUT HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING WHEEL, SO THEY WERE OFFERING THE TRADE UP. BUT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME WITHOUT ME PUTTING MORE MONEY DOWN.
CLOCK SPRING ISSUES . VW STATED TO ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT UNDER RECALL FOR THE CLOCK SPRING .THEY FIXED IT IN JUNE 2016 . IT BROKE AGAIN JUNE 2017 AND WAS REPLACED. IT BROKE AGAIN IN JAN 2018 AND WAS REPLACED 7 WEEKS LATER BROKE AGAIN. IT IS IN NEED OF BEING REPLACED NOW WHICH WILL BE THE 5TH CLOCK SPRING TO BE PUT IN TH CAR. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON HORN DOES NOT WORK NOR ANYTHING ON THE STEERING WHEEL DUE TO THE BROKEN CLOCK SPRING . I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE CAR IS PAID FOR BUT I CANT USE IT SAFELY AND CAN'T SELL IT WITH THESE ISSUES THAT VW WILL NOT FIX. VW CORPORATE OFFICES INVESTIGATED DETERMINED THAT IT INFACT WAS BROKEN AND SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR MY LAST PART? BUT THAT IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY. THE FIRST REPAIR WAS AT 44,000 MILES . THE ISSUE IS THAT VW NEVER ADDRESSED WHY THEY KEEP BREAKING AND REPLACING THEM DOES NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM
TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE IS ON THE RECALL LIST FOR THE DRIVER SIDE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. VOLKSWAGON NEVER CONTACTED US ABOUT IT, THAT WE WERE DRIVING A CAR WITH THE FAULTY AIR BAG, VOLKSWAGON DID INSTRUCT THEIR DEALERS TO NOT SELL THE 2012-2014 PASSATS AND HAD THEM REMOVE THEM FROM THEIR LOTS, BUT ARE OK WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS DRIVING THEM. I CONTACTED VW, TO OPT OUT OF MY LEASE EARLY WITH NO PENALTY, I ONLY HAVE 6 MONTHS LEFT ON MY LEASE. BUT THEY REFUSED IT. I AM APPALLED MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IS NOT A CONCERN FROM THIS COMPANY. WEREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO NOTIFY THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH A WRITTEN LETTER? THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM, I UNDERSTAND THAT, BUT THEY AREN'T EVEN TRYING TO EASE THE FEARS OR INFORM THEIR CUSTOMERS OF THE POTENTIAL HAZARDS OF DRIVING THESE VEHICLES.

TAKATA RECALL. HI I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL. AFTER DESCRIBING THE DEFECT, IT SAYS THERE ARE NOT PARTS FOR THIS SAFETY DEFECT. I CALLED VW AND TOLD THEM I'D LIKE TO TURN THE VEHICLE IF THEY CANNOT REPAIR IT PROMPTLY. VW SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS AND ARE NOT SURE WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THEM. THEY SUBMITTED MY REQUEST FOR A VEHICLE BUY BACK FOR INTERNAL REVIEW AND THEN DENIED IT WITHOUT EXPLAINING WHY. I REQUESTED A REPORT OUTLINING WHY THEY REJECTED MY REQUEST AND VW SAID THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION. I ASKED THEM TO PROVIDE ME WITH A WRITTEN NOTICE SAYING THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH THE INFORMATION RELATED TO MY REJECTED CLAIM, AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO THAT IN WRITING. VW TOLD ME THAT MY ONLY OPTION WOULD BE TO "SEEK SOMETHING OUTSIDE OF VW." THE REPS SAID THAT THE CARS ARE SAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT I SHOULD NOT BE CONCERNED. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD READ THAT 10 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED AND THAT I WOULD LIKE TO AVOID BEING NUMBER 11. THEY RESPONDED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE WARRANTY REPAIR IS MADE EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THAT WILL BE. I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN THE CAR AND THE COMPANY. MY CONFIDENCE IN THIS CAR IS COMPLETELY SHAKEN AND I AM FEARFUL OF DRIVING IT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE OR AT LEAST PROVIDE ME WITH A SAFE RENTAL CAR UNTIL THEY CAN REPLACE THE AIRBAG. YOUR HELP IN OBTAINING REDRESS TO THIS ISSUE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP (SANTA BARBARA VW) AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, STEVE ROSS ABOUT PROVIDING A LOANER VEHICLE FREE OF CHARGE UNTIL THE RECALL WAS RESOLVED. THE SERVICE MANAGER REFUSED TO PROVIDE ME A LOANER AND TOLD ME TO CALL VW CUSTOMER SERVICE. I SPOKE TO EUGENE (5/18/16) @ VW CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUESTING A COMPLIMENTARY LOANER (HONDA IS PROVIDING COMPLIMENTARY LOANERS) AND HE WAS NOT ABLE TO ASSIST ME. WHEN I ASKED TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THAT THE RECALLED TAKATA AIRBAG IN MY 2014 VW PASSAT WAS SAFE EUGENE AT CUSTOMER CARE WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM (ASKED HIM REPEATEDLY) THAT THE RECALLED AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE WAS SAFE EVEN AFTER I RECITED LINE BY LINE, THAT THE RECALL LETTER INDICATES THAT THE TAKATA AIRBAG REPRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD.
