UPON PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL THERE WAS A CRACKING NOISE AND THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT OFF WITH AN AIRBAG WARNING. AT WHICH POINT ALL MECHANISMS WITHIN THE STEERING WHEEL STOPPED WORKING. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT MY VIN WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING FAILURE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND FIXED. TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED WHEN I WENT IN TO GET MY 30,000 MILE MAINTENANCE DONE THAT A RECALL WOULD SOON BE OUT ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE I REALIZED IT WAS ON THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG, WITH THE DESCRIPTION " IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH NECESSITATING DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIR BAG, THE INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE WITH METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH". AFTER SPEAKING WITH 3 DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVES FOR VW I HAVE COME TO FIND OUT THAT MY CAR AIRBAG IS UNDER RECALL WITH NO PART TO FIX IT RIGHT NOW, AND NO TIME LIMIT AS TO WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. ONE OF THESE REPRESENTATIVES WENT ON TO TELL ME HE "HIGHLY DOUBTS ANYTHING WILL HAPPEN". HE CAN NOT GUARANTEE MY SAFETY WHEN I AM ON THE ROAD AND I DO NOT APPRECIATE HIM THINKING HE CAN. I AM OUTRAGED BY THIS BECAUSE I DRIVE A MINIMUM OF 60 MILES A DAY TO AND FROM WORK AND I AM 6 MONTHS PREGNANT. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING AND THEY HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE WHEN A PART IS RECALLED WITH NO ALTERNATIVE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. I KNOW OF OTHER VENDORS WHO HAVE OFFERED RENTAL CARS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE...WHY IS THIS NOT AN OPTION FOR US? IT SHOULD BE.
I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS 2014 VW PASSAT FROM NISSAN AND THEY DID NOT REVEAL ALL THE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE! I'M REALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS I FEEL THIS IS BEING DECEITFUL, NOT TO MENTION VERY UNSAFE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. DISHONEST!!!!! TO SAY THE LEAST!

IT WAS AROUND THE END OF APRIL THIS YEAR WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO MY WORK WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE OF MY LIGHT BULBS SHORTED OUT OR BURNED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING, I DRIVE IN THE EARLY HOURS SO IT'S DARK AND IT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD. SO I WENT TO MY LOCAL VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP TO GET MY PARTS AND I ASKED AT THE PARTS DEPARTMENT IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND HE TOLD ME NO BUT IT KEPT HAPPENING SO I LOOKED UP RECALLS OF THIS ISSUE AND THEIR WAS A RECALL FOR THE HEADLIGHTS BUT THEY WERE FOR 2012-2013 PASSATS SO FROM MY EXPERIENCE IT KEEPS HAPPENING IN MY 2014 MODEL AS WELL.FIRST IT WAS AROUND EVERY TWO WEEKS THAT THE BULB WOULD BURN OUT AT RANDOM BUT IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS I HAD TO REPLACE THE BULB WAY MORE OFTEN ALMOST EVERY TWO DAYS. THIS IS MY ONLY CAR AND I REALLY CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP REPLACE A BULB THIS OFTEN. MY MAJOR CONCERN ISN'T WITH THE EXPENSE OF PURCHASING HEADLIGHTS EVERY 2-3 DAYS BUT MY SAFETY AND MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY BECAUSE OF ME NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE WITH FULL VISION, IT'S MY ONLY CAR SO I HAVE TO DRIVE IT.

TAKATA RECALL. ALTHOUGH I RECEIVED THE VW RECALL NOTICE IN APRIL, 2016, THEY STILL CLAIM THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO FIX THIS RECALL, AND WILL NOT GIVE ME A DATE WHEN I CAN EXPECT THIS RECALL TO BE FIXED. SINCE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, THE LACK OF RESPONSE BY VW IS VERY CONCERNING TO US.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN I START MY CAR IT BLOWS EXTREMELY HOT AIR OUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE VENTS WHILE THE PASSENGER SIDE STILL FOLLOWS THE HEATER CONTROL SETTINGS. SO EVEN IF I TURN THE TEMPERATURE DOWN SO THE AC KICKS IN IT STILL IS EXTREMELY HOT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I TRIED TURNING OFF THE CONTROL, RESTARTING THE CAR, AND JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE AND ONLY AFTER IT SITS A WHILE DOES IT WORK AGAIN. THIS MAKES FOR SOME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING WHEN IT IS WARM OUTSIDE. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK AND NEVER WHEN I CAN GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO CHECK.

IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS AND THERE HAS BEEN NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAG FOR MY VEHICLE. THIS IS A LEASED VEHICLE AND IS CURRENTLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE APPROACHED THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA. V OF A TOLD ME TO "GO AHEAD AND DRIVE THE CAR". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. TAKADA AIRBAGS HAD ISSUES BEFORE 2014, AND THE COMPANY STILL BOUGHT FROM THEM. THEY HAD TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM. I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE
TAKATA RECALL - I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR SAFETY AND I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE IS NO FIX OR ETA ON ONE AT THIS TIME. THIS IS A BREACH OF CONTRACT AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE. A LOANER PROGRAM, AT THE VERY LEAST, SHOULD BE IN PLACE. THIS IS APPALLING THAT NO MIND IS PAID TO THE SAFETY OF OWNERS AND VW JUST EXPECTS US TO JUST SIT BACK AND WAIT FOR "ANOTHER LETTER" BUT DRIVERS CAN DIE IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS.

TAKATA RECALL. HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING SINCE APRIL 2016 ON THE AIR BAG RECALL AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING A CAR WITH FAULTY AIR BAGS.
"TAKATA RECALL". I AM DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AS I DO NOT HAVE EXTRA CARS LAYING AROUND. MY SON DRIVES THIS CAR. IT IS VERY SCARY TO ME THAT VW HAS HAD NO RECALLS DONE, WHY? OTHER MODELS HAVE HAD SOME CARS REPAIRED. I AM UNSURE OF THE DIFFICULTY WITH VW AND WHY THEY HAVE NOT HAD THEIR DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAGS FIXED. THERE IS NO TIMELINE ONLY A SUGGESTION TO "DRIVE THE CARE IMPACTED LESS FREQUENTLY". DOES VW OR TAKATA THINK EVERYONE JUST USES A CAR FOR EXTRA OR FUN. IF I HAD THAT KIND OF CAR, A FOR FUN CAR, IT WOULD NOT BE A VW PASSAT. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE IT WAS PRACTICAL AND SAFE. NOW I HAVE TO WORRY IF MY AIRBAG GOES OFF IT COULD KILL MYSELF, MY HUSBAND OR MY SON. I AM FRUSTRATED THAT WE ARE TOLD TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR SO MUCH AND THAT THEY CAN DO NOTHING BUT BY THE WAY... THE CAR LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTRY ROAD AT ABOUT 45 MILES PER HOUR. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A BLOWN TURBOCHARGER. THIS OCCURRED AT 32,000 MILES. NOW, THE CAR HAS LOST POWER AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR GOING UP A HILL. I BELIEVE IT IS A BLOWN TURBOCHARGER. THIS OCCURRED AT 64,000 MILES. THE DETAILS BELOW ON DATE AND MILES ARE RELATED TO THE SECOND INCIDENT.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE TSI SEL NAVIGATION AND RADIO SYSTEM IN MY CAR. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH YOU CANNOT TOUCH ANY BUTTONS UNTIL THIS SYSTEM IS FULLY UP AND RUNNING. IT IS EXTREMELY SLOW AT START UP. MOST OF THE TIME I CAN FINISH MY BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY EVEN BEFORE THE BACK UP CAMERA COMES ON. ON A FEW OCCASIONS I HAVE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE RADIO WILL SUDDENLY GO TO FULL VOLUME. I HAVE HAD THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM LOCK UP ON ME. ONCE WE WERE DRIVING IN TENNESSEE AND PULLED OFF TO GET SOME GAS, WELL THIS COMPLETELY CONFUSED THE SYSTEM AND IT DECIDED TO LOCK UP ONCE WE ENTERED BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE AND TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A WHILE AND THEN REPROGRAM MY DESTINATION. ANOTHER TIME ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK THE SYSTEM LOCKED AND WOULD NOT LET ME GET TO ANY OTHER SCREEN. I HAVE HAD TIMES WHEN THE SYSTEM NEVER BOOTS COMPLETELY AND STAYS WITH THE MESSAGE OF "SYSTEM STARTING". OF COURSE THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPEAT THE ISSUES AND FLAT OUT TOLD ME THEY DON'T WORK ON THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE JUNK AND THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE SLOW AND IN ADEQUATE. PERSONALLY IF VW KNOWS THEY ARE CRAP THEY SHOULD GIVE US THE UPGRADES THEY DID TO THE NEWER MODELS. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I HAVE TALKED WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS.
