Headlight brightness needs to be better regulated (limited) for safety reasons. During night/darkness driving conditions, the headlights of some (newer) oncoming vehicles have an LED blue light brightness that is unsafe because the blinding light makes it impossible for other drivers to see the road until this type of oncoming vehicle passes.
The contact's granddaughter owns a 2007 Audi A4. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V427000 (Air Bags), the dealer informed the contact that the recall repair could not be completed because the odometer did not display the mileage as per the manufacturer's policy. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, but no assistance was provided. The contact's granddaughter had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
My 2007 Audi A4 is part of the Takata airbag lawsuit so I scheduled an appointment to have it repaired at Audi of Tampa. I had my car towed there because the battery recently died and I was told I needed to have the key reprogrammed because it would not start after replacing the battery and figured I could have both repairs done at the same time. My appointment was at 7pm but when I arrived nobody had any knowledge of my appointment and was told they do not make appointments that late in the day but a technician would give me a call. I leave my car there and receive a call today from the repair technician Tyler King who proceeded to tell me that prior to doing anything to the car he'd have to run a diagnostics test that would cost me $500! WHAT? Just to give a diagnosis that I've already been given? Insane. So now that I do not have that kind of money what am I supposed to do? Tow it back home and have a locksmith reprogram the key and ignore the airbag issue? I feel unsafe in the Audi I once loved and relied on daily and don't know how I am supposed to proceed with this.
2007 AUDI A4. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED ON MAY 30, 2018.
Many years ago Audi advised that there is a defect with the air bag in my vehicle, and that they would change it for free. I contacted a dealer and they said they would contact me after the part is available. They have done nothing, the defective air bag is still in the car, the company still explains that the airbag can cause serious injury to occupants, and I still drive my family in the car. Now they are suggesting that because the car is nearing 15 years old they may disregard the risk to my family and not take responsibility for the defective air bag. The car has been to the shop, but their current web site does not clearly say, in plain language, that the air bag has been replaced. The language is not written so that an average prudent person can understand. I would like, in straight forward and unambiguous language, to know what the status is with the car.
The contact owns a 2007 Audi A4. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Eventually, the vehicle stalled and would no longer operate as designed. During the failure, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000.
My vehicle will disengage forward or drive at times (transmission) unknowingly and as you apply the gas it sometimes will engage and go forward or reverse in a high speed. Stopped at a light or stop sign becomes dangerous as you are not in control of your speed. Or you may be moved into traffic and lose forward or reverse power.
They have a design defect which allows water to get into the cabin via the moon roof. They also have an electrical motherboard under the drivers feet (comfort control module) that shorts out when it gets wet (which is easy when the rain comes in from the faulty moon roof). Now I cannot un/lock my doors, operate my windows open/closed, etc. And I believe it has negatively effected my ability for brake lights to function properly. This is a widespread issue, not just on mine. They were even class action sued for the same issue with a different year model (and settled out of court, but I was not an owner of the other car year). Please help. Thank you.
The moonroof was very poorly designed/built. It clogs very easily and forces rain into the battery area. Other than that, it goes into the footwells and the comfort control module is beneath the drivers footwell. Soaking in water destroyed it. Now the windows don't go up or down. The moonroof refuses to open or shut. The car will not lock or unlock with the key. The car has sat now for too long and will no longer even turn on. The insurance company looked it all over and denied my claim. The vehicle has pretty much been totalled. Even after paying professionals to clear out the clog, there's still massive problems with it.
RECEIVED AIRBAG RECALL NHTSA 16V079 ON APRIL 2016. AFTER ALMOST 3 YEARS OF WAITING FOR PARTS DUE TO SHORTAGE THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED ON FEBRUARY 2019. ON APRIL 2019 AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER SCANNED VEHICLE AND SAID WAS UNRELATED TO THE AIRBAG WHICH IT WAS JUST REPLACED AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME OVER $800 FOR A REAR SEATBELT TENSIONER. I DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE BEING HONEST SO I TOOK THE CAR TO ANOTHER NON-AUDI DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED THE AIRBAG CODES WERE RELATED TO ACTUAL AIRBAG WHICH WAS REPLACED. AFTER A LOT OF BACK AND FORTH AND AGGRAVATION WITH AUDI, THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG A SECOND TIME ON MAY OF 2020 AND AIRBAG LIGHT WENT AWAY. HOWEVER, 5 MONTHS LATER ON OCTOBER OF 2020 AIRBAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON. DEALER NOW SAYS THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IS NOT GOOD AND WANTS TO CHARGE ME $2,800 PLUS TAXES TO REPLACE IT. I FEEL THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM AND ARE PRESENTING ME WITH A FAT BILL WITH THE HOPES I WILL WALK AWAY WITHOUT REPAIRING, THIS WAY THEY ARE OFF THE HOOK FROM ANY OBLIGATIONS TO REPAIR THE CAR OR POTENTIAL LAW SUITS IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. I AM RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS AT THIS POINT. I FEEL THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURE ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR AN ISSUE WHICH STARTED AFTER THE AIRBAG RECALL REPLACEMENT AND NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $3,000 FOR SOMETHING I AM NOT EVEN SURE IT WILL WORK. IS THERE A LAW THAT WOULD PROTECT THE CONSUMER FROM THIS TYPE OF SITUATION? AFTER ALL THIS WAS A RECALL..... WHAT IS MY RIGHT AT THIS POINT?
THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED IN FEB 2018. I HAD MY CAR AT AUDI, MOHEGAN LAKE, NY FOR SERVICE IN JULY 2018. PARTS APPARENTLY WERE NOT AVAILABLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED SINCE FOR THE REPAIR. WHEN CALLING 5/29/2019, I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST, WHICH HAS APPX 80 PEOPLE ON IT. THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM IF I WAS ALREADY ON FROM MY JULY 2018 VISIT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NEED A REMEDY.
TAKATA RECALL. I WENT TO AUDI MELBOURNE FL 2 YRS AGO AND THEY SAID THEY REPLACED IT...THREE MONTHS AGO I GOT NOTIFICATION THAT IT WAS NOT A PERMANENT FIX...I TOOK IT BACK TO THEM ON THE 15 OF MAY AND SINCE THEN THE LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD SAYS THAT IT IS NOT WORKING...IT TAKES ME 5HRS BACK AND FORTH 2X AND A DAY OFF WORK...I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME IF IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM...WELL THE LIGHT WAS NOT GOING ON BEFORE AND I WAS TOLD THE WAS NOT PERMANENT FIX EITHER...I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN THAT I TAKE FROM SCHOOL...THIS IS DISGUSTING AT BEST...THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE SOMEONE BRING MY CAR TO THEM AND LEAVE ME WITHOUT A CAR TOMORROW...GREAT HOW DO I GET TO WORK...WHAT IS GOING ON...WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!

THE CAR GOES THRO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION, AROUND ONE QT EVERY 400 MILES. THE CAR ALSO BURNS OIL EVERY TIME ACCELERATING ON A SMALL HILL- SMOKE COMES OUT FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. CANNOT EXPEDITE OR DRIVE REGULARLY. IT SEEMS THAT IT NEEDS PISTON RINGS REPLACEMENT WHICH WAS DEFECTIVE IN THE BEGINNING BUT THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT CARE ABOUT IT. THE CAR HAS 115.000 MILES.

MY WIFE RECEIVED AN "URGENT" RECALL FOR AIRBAGS ON HER 2007 AUDI IN JANUARY 2018. TO DATE, THIS RECALL HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED. A SECOND RECALL WAS ISSUED IN JUNE 2018 ON ANOTHER PART OF PART OF THE AIRBAG WHICH HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED. THIS IS REDICULOUS ON A RECALL THAT COULD PROVE FATAL SHOULD MY WIFE BE IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIPS EXCUSE IS THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ?? AFTER ALMOST TWO YEARS ?? WE COULD USE A LITTLE HELP HERE.
TAKATA RECALL I CALLED TO SCHEDULE A RECALL REPAIR AT MY LOCAL AUDI DEALERSHIP(FRESNO, CA AUDI/PORSCHE) AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART AND THAT THY WERE NOT SURE WHEN A NEW ONE WOULD ARRIVE. SO IT'S BEEN ABOUT 4 WEEKS NOW SINCE I TALKED TO THE AUDI DEALERSHIP AND I'M DRIVING AROUND WITH A FAULTY AIRBAG IN MY CAR, THIS IS A LITTLE SCARY. KNOWING THAT IF I GOT IN A CRASH MY PASSENGER COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN DIE. ALL AUDI IS TELLING ME EVERY TIME I TRY TO CALL IS, 'WE STILL DON'T HAVE THE PART, AND WE WILL KEEP YOU PAPERWORK ON OUR DESK AND CALL YOU WHEN IT'S IN'.WELL, I DON'T THINK IT TAKES 4 WEEKS TO GET A AIRBAG PART IN. THE LAST COMMUNICATION WITH A DEALER WAS TODAY, NOV 11TH 2017. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS AIRBAGS THAT CAN EJECT METAL FRAGMENTS THAT ARE STATED TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES OR EVEN DEATH!? THEY NEED TO HAVE MORE URGENCY IN THIS RECALL TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURIES OR EVEN UNNECESSARY DEATHS!
TAKATA RECALL, CONTACTED AUDI IN RHODE ISLAND (AUDI WARWICK 1517B BALD HILL RD , WARWICK (401) 821-1510). THEY STATED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS REQUIRED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION AND TO CALL BACK IN ANOTHER MONTH. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE CONSIDERING THE POSSIBLE DAMAGE THAT CAN OCCUR IF THE AIRBAG FAILS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY DURING IMPACT.

TAKATA AIR BAG MY VEHICLE IS LISTED UNDER THE RECALL, BUT THE TAKATA WEB SITE SAYS THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO NOT USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND THAT THERE IS NO OTHER REMEDY AVAILABLE. THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE. I NEED TO USE MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WITHOUT FEAR OF SOMEONE BEING KILLED!

"TAKATA RECALL" I WANT MY AIRBAGS REPLACED. SO FAR - NO FIX???!!!!!!!
THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, A COMPUTERIZED PART THAT COULD JAM THE TRANSMISSION, IS FAILING IN MY CAR, IT'S $3100 TO FIX INCLUDING LABOR AND MATERIAL, BUT I FEEL IT'S A SAFETY VIOLATION, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT COVERING 2002-2006 A-4 AUDIS STEMMING FROM THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART.
I HAVE TWICE 2016 AND MARCH 2017 TRIED TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS REPAIRED BY THE COLLECTION, MIAMI AND THEY NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH OR ACKNOWLEDGE MY REQUEST. I WOULD CALL THEIR SERVICE USER UNFRIENDLY AND DYSFUNCTIONAL.WHAT TO DO??? I JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER ADVICE FROM YOU AND WILL NOT WASTE MY TIME REGISTERING MY UNTIL SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGES MY REQUEST THAT THE WORK BE PERFORMED.
TAKATA RECALL: TAKATA HAS NOT FOUND A FIX FOR THIS DANGEROUS RECALL SINCE WE WERE NOTIFIED IN MAY 2016. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT SHOWN ANY SIGNS OF THE INFLATION ERROR THUS FAR, BUT THE RECALL STATES IF THE AIRBAG DOES INFLATE, SHARDS OF METAL CAN GO FLYING AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THEY RECOMMEND NOT HAVING ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THERE IS A KNOWN FIX OF THE RECALL. THIS IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE AND CAUSES WORRY WHEN DRIVING THE CAR. ALMOST A YEAR HAS PASSED AND THIS NEEDS A RESOLUTION.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V427000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (MOHEGAN LAKE AUDI, 1791 E MAIN ST, MOHEGAN LAKE, NY 10547, (914) 528-8076) CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL. AUDI APPEARS TO BE DOING NOTHING MUCH TO REPAIR THE POTENTIALLY FATAL AIRBAG ISSUE. I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM THEM IN THE SUMMER OF 2016, COMING UP ON ONE YEAR AGO. I'VE KNOWN PEOPLE WHO HAD THEIR TAKATA AIRBAGS REPAIRED IN THEIR HONDAS AND ACCURAS, ETC. I DON'T THINK THEY WAITED MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS. WHY THE UNREASONABLE DELAY ON AUDI'S PART? HOW MANY MORE FATALITIES AND INJURIES ARE TO OCCUR BEFORE THEY ACT?
TAKATA RECALL. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET RECALLED BAGS REPLACED, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE AN APPOINTMENT TO COMPLETE RECALL NOTICE. THE EXCUSE HAS BEEN THAT DUE TO LARGE NUMBER OF RECALLS, MY PARTICULAR AIR BAG WAS ON ORDER AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THE INVENTORY IS AVAILABLE.
