BATTERY SPARKS THIRD. TIME REPLACING, SOMETHING CLICKS IN THE FUSE BOX NOW THE CAR WON'T. START. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 328 I. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE THIRD TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE ECCENTRIC SHAFT SENSOR WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V044000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,745. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION - WARNING ERROR IS ON AFTER MULTIPLES BATTERIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. AIRBAG IS NO LONGER WORKING SINCE THIS WARNING IS ON. THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS MALFUNCTION WARMING ARE ON BUT STILL WORKING/ON. THE RIGHT REAR NIGHT LIGHT IS NOT WORKING BUT NO WARNING ERROR MESSAGE. WE CHANGED THE BULB BUT STILL NOT WORKING... WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND AT THE STOP LIGHT, WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO GO AND THE AIR BAGS CAME ON AND THE SOUND DING, DING, DING, AND THE AIR BAGS LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH? WHEN I TAKE IT TO MY LOCAL SHOP AND LET THEM RUN OB2 SCANNER AND IT CAME UP ON THE OB2 SCANNER IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS MAT SENSOR. *JS
I AM AN OWNER OF A 2007 BMW 328XI. TWO MONTHS AGO, I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A BMW DEALERSHIP FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME THAT CYLINDER 6 WAS THE PROBLEM. SO THEY FIXED CYLINDER 6 AND REPLACED ALL SPARK PLUGS. ON 24-APR-2014, MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR TO WORK AND CAME HOME. THAT EVENING SHE TOOK THE KIDS TO AN EVENT AT THEIR SCHOOL AND PARKED THE CAR. AFTER THE EVENT, SHE TRIED BACKING THE CAR AND THE CAR WON'T GO INTO REVERSE. SO, I DROPPED THE CAR OFF TO THE DEALER SHIP AND AFTER THEY COMPLETED THEIR DAGNOSTIC TEST, THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WHICH WILL COST $6000 TO FIX. *JS
MY SERPENTINE BELT (DRIVE BELT) SNAPPED AND SHATTERED CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER STEERING CAPABILITIES. THIS BELT DRIVES ALL THE ACCESORIES( ALTERNATOR, POWER STEERING, AC, ETC). THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY BMW, THERE IS A SIB 11 09 08 THAT STATES THE ISSUE AND HOW TO GO ABOUT CHECKING IT BY THE DEALER. THE ISSUE IS THE DESIGN FLAW IN THE POWER STEERING PULLY HITTING THE SUB FRAME AND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE BELT AND IN TURN THE BELT SNAPPING. THIS CAN/WILL CAUSE A FATALITY ONE DAY BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROLS. THE BELT ON MY VEHICLE WAS REPLACED BEFORE ON 12/20/12 FOR THE SAME REASON AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN 1.5 YEARS AND THE SAME PROBLEM. *TT
AFTER CLEANING MY CAR I TRIED TO START IT, WHEN SUDDENLY A WARNING LIGHT POPPED UP INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A PASSENGER RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION. THE WARNING, FURTHER INDICATED THAT ALL SEAT BELT BE WORN IMMEDIATELY WHEN DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO THE BMW DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND OUT AFTER PAYING FOR DIAGNOSIS FEE, THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAULT IN THE ROLLOVER PROTECTION CONTROLLER THEREBY AFFECTING THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS IN CASE OF A CRASH.THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS SAFETY FEATURE FOR CONVERTIBLES WASN'T UNDER DEALERSHIP WARRANTY. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SUCH, I WOULD THINK. *TR

THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY UNROLLS ALL WINDOWS AND THE MOONROOF WHENEVER IT RAINS. THIS IS FLOODING AND RUINING THE VEHICLE, AND CAUSING MOISTURE TO ENTER THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND CAUSE A SIGNIFICANT FIRE HAZARD. THERE IS A BURNING SMELL FROM THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE ISSUE, WHICH IS WELL KNOWN ON THE BLOGOSPHERE, IS DUE TO A FAULTY AND IMPROPERLY INSTALLED WIRING HARNESS (INSTALLED CROOKED), AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN PINS 18 AND 19 FOR THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR, AND IMPROPER MOISTURE SEALING FOR THE HARNESS AND ACTUATOR. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR ADDRESS THE ISSUE. *TR

OWNER OF 2007 BMW 328I, START MY CAR IN THE MORNING, BUT THE CAR WON'T START IT, IT NO SOUND WHEN I TRY TO START THE CAR. BUT THE WINDOW, LOCKS AND RADIO ARE ALL WORKING WELL. TRY TO JUMP THE BATTERY, IT NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BATTERY. NEED TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, OVER ONE DAYS ALREADY, STILL WAITING THE REPLY FROM THE DEALER. *TR
WAS TRAVELING ON I290, AT ABOUT 70MPH, WHEN I NEEDED MORE ACCELERATION TO PASS A TRUCK... THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE, THE ENGINE SERVICE SOON LIGHT CAME ON, AND IT WAS FLASHING. THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN VERY QUICKLY, I WAS UNABLE TO GAIN MORE SPEED, NOR EVEN MAINTAIN SPEED, I HAD TO RUSH TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE, ALL THE WAY FROM THE LEFT LANE. THERE WAS A BARRIER ON THE LEFT LANE, SO PARKING ON THE LEFT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO DANGEROUS. I STOPPED BY AUTOZONE, THEY SCANNED MY CAR... THE SCAN REPORTED: CYLINDER 4,5,6 MISFIRE. THE CAR DROVE FINE AFTER I TURNED IT OFF, AND BACK ON... BUT, EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE FAST, THE ENGINE MISFIRES VERY VERY BAD. I WOULD LOOSE TO A HONDA CIVIC ON A RACE. *TR

LEFT HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE UNIT FOR XENON BULB STOPPED WORKING ON 2007 BMW 335I WHICH CAUSED THE LOW BEAM XENON HEADLIGHT BULB TO GO OUT AT NIGHT. MANY OTHER BMW OWNERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE SAME SIDE (LEFT). TYPE IN BMW 335I HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE AND SOMEONE POSTING THAT THEIR LEFT SIDE WENT OUT, IS THE FIRST HIT ON GOOGLE AND MANY OTHER POSTS I HAVE SEEN ALSO STATE THE LEFT SIDE CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND THEIR LEFT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A CONSUMER PROTECTION ISSUE AS THE COST TO REPLACE IS $1100+. *TR
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS (SRS) FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR (OC3) MAT FAULTY. VERY DANGEROUS! PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT! BMW SHOULD RECALL THIS! *TR
FIRST OCCURRENCE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN, DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT DISENGAGE LOCK MECHANISM TO ALLOW EGRESS. UNLOCKING VEHICILE RENDERS NOTHING AS THE DOOR LOCK IS INTERMENT AND WILL NOT ALLOW DOOR TO UNLOCK EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE. SECOND OCCURRENCE ROUGHLY ONE YEAR LATER, FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK DISPLAYING SAME CHACTERISTICS AS FIRST OCCURRENCE WITH DRIVERS SIDE DOOR.
THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKING FUNCTION IN MY CAR HAS GONE OUT TWICE IN THE LAST 8 MONTHS. THE BUTTONS INSIDE THE CAR AND ON THE KEY FOB DID NOT OPEN OR LOCK THE DOORS. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT WHEN THIS OCCURRED, THERE WAS NO WAY TO OPEN ANY OF THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS A PHYSICAL KEY SLOT. THE CAR CAN ONLY BE UNLOCKED FROM THE OUTSIDE WHEN THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS FAIL. A PERSON CANNOT OPEN THE DOORS USING ANY OF THE HANDLES, INCLUDING THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE WHEN THE LOCKS FAIL. THERE IS NO WAY TO EXIT THE CAR FROM THE INSIDE WHEN THIS FAILS. I HAD TO PULL A BACK SEAT PASSENGER OUT THE WINDOW TO REMOVE HIM FROM THE CAR WHEN THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS FAILED THE SECOND TIME. BOTH TIMES I WAS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING FIRST ONE, THEN TWO FUSES IN THE BOX. BMW SERVICE DEPARTMENTS DO NOT CONSIDER THIS AN EMERGENCY, SO I HAD TO DO THE REPAIRS MYSELF. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL BEING UNABLE TO OPEN ANY OF THE DOORS, AND HAVING TO DRIVE WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR UNLOCKED. IT IS NOT EASY TO REPLACE A FUSE WHEN THE BOX IS IN THE BACK OF THE GLOVE BOX ON THE FAR SIDE WHEN IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR. BMW SAID THERE MAY BE SOMETHING IN THE CAR THAT IS CAUSING THIS TO FAIL FOR ME AND HAS QUOTED ALMOST $200 FOR AN ASSESSMENT. THIS ISSUE IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. ONE CAN EASILY BE STUCK IN THE CAR AS MY PASSENGER WAS WITH NO WAY TO GET OUT BESIDES THE WINDOW. THIS CAR IS NOT LARGE ENOUGH TO EASILY JUMP OVER CONSOLES OR SEATS. I CALLED BMW AND SAID THIS HAS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL SINCE YOU CANNOT EXIT THE CAR WHEN THE SYSTEM FAILS. THERE WAS NO PROMISE TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE CARS OR TO ASSIST ME IN ANY WAY. *TR
WHEN I START MY CAR IT WANTS TO TURN OFF. BMW ISSUED A RECALL I TOOK IT IN TO FIX IT BUT PROBLEM STILL HAPPENING. THEN MY CAR HAS 63000 MILES AND IT KICKS A LOT IN FIRST GEAR. FOR LOW MILES THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. *TR
I WAS TRAPPED INSIDE MY VEHICLE WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR UNABLE TO UNLOCK. I COULD NOT USE THE MANUAL DOOR HANDLE ON THE INSIDE OR OUT. THE INTERIOR DOOR OPEN BUTTON LOCATED ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE KEY FOB WOULD NOT UNLOCK IT. I FINALLY HAD TO MANEUVER ACROSS THE CENTER CONSOLE AND SLIDE OUT THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. I WAS SCARED AND FRUSTRATED. IT WAS DARK AND IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT. *TR
STEERING WHEEL LOCK SIGN KEEPS APPEARING AND LOCKING ME OUT OF THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS AND HAS LEFT ME STRANDED EVERY TIME AND 3 OF THE TIMES A TOW TRUCK WAS UNABLE TO REACH MY CAR TO TOW IT. I HAVE HAD IT AT THE DEALER FOR A WEEK NOW AND THE SIGN HAS NOT POPPED UP FOR THEM SO THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING. WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE CAR TO THEM AFTER BEING STUCK FOR 45 MIN, AS SOON AS I PARKED IT AT BMW THE SERVICE WOMAN TRIED TO GO INTO IT AND START IT AND IT SHOWED THE SIGN. THE SERVICE TEAM HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. SO I AM PICK UP THE CAR TODAY WITH NOTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO IT AND IT WILL MOST LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS SINCE IT WILL BE DRIVEN NORMALLY. *TR
THE CAR HAS A SERIOUS OIL LEAK AT THE HEAD GASKET. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY WELL MAINTAINED CAR, WITH ALL SERVICES BEING COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND JUST REGULAR COMMUTING IN MILD TRAFFIC AND MILD WEATHER. THE OIL LEAK IS OCCURRING DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT -- THERE IS NO SERVICEABLE PORTION DUE TO WHICH THIS LEAK COULD HAVE HAPPENED. AS THE CAR KEEPS LEAKING OIL, IT IS CREATING A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2007 BMW 335I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE WAS DISCOLORED INDICATING THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING. AS A RESULT, THERE WAS A CONNECTION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V044000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON I-405N AT AROUND 70 MPH, THE PACE OF THE VERY LIGHT TRAFFIC THAT NIGHT, AND THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS WITHIN 100 YARDS IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WERE NO OVERPASSES OR PEDESTRIANS ANYWHERE NEARBY. ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED! A LARGE PIECE OF IT BROKE OFF AND THEN WAS BLOWN BACKWARDS, BOUNCING OFF MY ROOF AND TRUNK, SCRATCHING THE PAINT. THE PERSON DRIVING BEHIND ME DROVE OVER THE SUNROOF AND SHARDS OF GLASS. LUCKILY, I HAD MY SUNROOF SUNSHADE CLOSED WHICH PREVENTED THE SHARDS OF GLASS FROM SHOWERING ON ME WHEN THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. *TR

I HAD JUST EXITED OFF OF THE FREEWAY AND WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AT A LIGHT WHEN THE STEERING "LOCKED UP". I COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO STEER AND THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. LUCKILY, THE CAR "COAST" TO THE SIDE OF THIS NON-BUSY ROAD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I WAS ALSO ABLE TO DRIVE BACK HOME WITHOUT ANY ISSUES A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER. HOWEVER, THIS INCIDENT HAS ME AND MY FAMILY FREAKED OUT AS WE FREQUENTLY TRAVEL WITH OUR CHILDREN. I CANNOT IMAGINE THE CONSEQUENCES IF THIS LOCK UP WERE TO HAPPEN ON A FREEWAY AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 60MPH. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL FOLKS COMPLAIN OF THIS ISSUE AND AM AFRAID IT MAY RESURFACE ANYTIME WITHOUT WARNING. I'LL HAVE MY CAR TAKEN TO A SERVICE SHOP NEAR MY HOME AND HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE, BUT HAVING READ SO MANY COMPLAINTS IT APPEARS TO BE ALONG SIMILAR LINES OF THE STEERING COLUMN ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING MY 328I WITH 48K MILES AND THE ELECTRONIC STEERING WHEEL LOCK ICON CAME UP ON THE DASH PANEL. IT KEPT GIVING THE WARNING THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK AND IF I TURN THE CAR OFF AND I WON'T BE ABLE TO START IT. I DROVE IT HOME AND WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF, I WAS ABLE TO CRANK IT BACK UP AND HAD NO PROBLEM WITH STEERING IN TEST DRIVE. DEALER TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE COLUMN BECAUSE IT COULD ACTUALLY LOCK. THIS WOULD BE DISASTROUS ON A FREEWAY IN SOUTHERN CAL WHERE I LIVE. THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE BMW 328I MODELS BECAUSE I AM READING OTHER ONLINE POSTS STATING THE STEERING DID LOCK. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT, HOPING THAT ANY SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION BY THE NHTSA WILL SEE THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AND BMW KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT COULD RESULT IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT YET THEY WON'T ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
2007 BMW 335I WITH SPORT SEATS, MALFUNCTION LIGHT FOR PASSENGER SEAT OCCURS WHEN SEAT IS OCCUPIED, WHICH DEACTIVATES AIR BAGS, THIS COULD BE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS,VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT BMW REFUSES TO FIX THIS ISSUE SINCE THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS SPECIFIC PART FOR SEVERAL MODELS, UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAVE TOLD US THAT OUR VEHICLE IS 2 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE MANUFACTURERS DATE FOR THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH OUR VEHICLE REQUIRES THE SAME PART NUMBER AS OTHER VEHICLES THAT WHERE RECALLED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH OVER HEATING. EVERY TIME I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR THIS PROBLEM THEY HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE LEAKS AND THE MANIFOLD CRACKED (NOT DIAGNOSED IN ONE VISIT THESE WERE FOUND AFTER MULTIPLE VISITS). IT STILL DOES IT AND NOW THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING. THEY WANT PROOF THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING SO I AM GOING TO FILM IT WHEN IT HAPPENS TO ME AGAIN. TPMS ALERTED US OF A LOW TIRE. WHEN TAKEN TO REPAIR WE WHERE NOTIFIED THE LEFT REAR RIM WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING AIR. CAR WAS ONLY DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY, NO ROUGH ROADS...WHAT WOULD CAUSE THE RIM TO CRACK? I UNDERSTAND THE UK'S NTSB HAS ISSUED A RECALL AS BMW ADMITTED THAT THEIR WHEELS HAD DEFECTIVE ALLOY METAL CAUSING THE RIMS TO BREAKDOWN. HOWEVER, BMW OF NORTH AMERICA HAS NOT ADMITTED TO ANY DEFECTIVE METAL AND HAS NOT ACCEPTED RESPONSIBILITY. HOPE THIS GETS REVIEWED FOR SAFETY BEFORE SOME GETS PHYSICALLY INJURED OR DIES AS A RESULT OF THESE DEFECTIVE WHEELS. WHILE I'M DRIVING THE SEAT LIGHT (SRS) JUST CAME ON THE DASH. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND GET IT SCAN, THEY SAID IT THE SEAT MAT SENSOR IS MESS UP AND SO I ASK THEM IS IT IN THE RECALL AND THEY TOLD ME IT NOT ON THE RECALL. SO THAT IS [XXX] WEIRD? THE CAR FORTUNATELY WAS NOT IN MOTION HOWEVER THE STEERING COLUMN LOCK IS NOT ALLOWING THE STEERING WHEEL TO MOVE AS WELL AS PREVENTING THE CAR TO START. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON INHERENT PROBLEM WITH BMW. IN WHICH COSTS THE CONSUMER ~$1800 TO FIX EVEN THOUGH IT'S A MOST LIKELY A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND NOT A PARTS ISSUE. SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO START AND HE BATTERY INDICATOR CAME ON A FEW TIMES. THE FINAL TIME AFTER DRIVING FROM CONNECTICUT TO QUEENS NY, I WAS IN A FRIENDS DRIVEWAY AFTER DROPPING THEM OFF FROM THE AIRPORT, THE CAR WOULD NOT START EVEN THOUGHT THE LIGHTS WERE WORKING. EVENTUALLY ALL POWER WAS LOST. I HAD TO HAVE CAR PUSHED OUT IF THE DRIVING AND ON TO THE STREET. ALSO TO NOTE EARLIER I WAS CHARGING MY CELL PHONE, BUT IT STOPPED CHARGING. I WENT AND PURCHASE A NEW CHARGED (USB ADAPTOR) WHICH DID NOT WORK EITHER, BUT WORKED WHEN I HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER. THE TOW TRUCK PERSON WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE CAR STARTED WITH A JUMP, AND INDICATED THAT IT APPEARED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I REVIEWED THE INTERNET TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE SINCE MY CAR HAS SUCH LOW MILAGE, AND NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL FROM FEBRUARY 2013. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS THE SAME, BUT IT SOUNDS SIMILAR.
ON A VERY COLD DAY, I GOT INTO MY CAR, AND TURNED ON THE SEAT HEATER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF MY X3. I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING AND THE SIDE OF MY WAIST FELT HOT AS IF I WAS ON FIRE. I REALIZED THAT IT MUST BE THE SEAT HEATER SO I IMMEDIATELY TURNED IT OFF. I STOPPED MY CAR, GOT OUT AND NOTICED MY COAT HAD BEEN BURNT. I NOTICED A BURNED HOLE ON THE SIDE OF MY SEAT, IN WHICH WAS THE CAUSE OF MY COAT CATCHING FIRE. *TR
ALL 6 FUEL INJECTORS WERE LEAKING AND CAUSED THE CAR TO STALL ON THE FREEWAY. THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SPARK PLUGS AND COILS. 1 YEAR LATER AT 100K MILES, THE SAME ISSUE HAS ARISEN. THE FUEL SYSTEM SEEMS TO BE A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, SINCE THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE FREEWAY. BMW SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE FUEL INJECTORS AS THEY DID WITH THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. *TR

I WAS INFORMED BY A BMW REPRESENTATIVE THAT DEALERSHIPS WERE TOLD THAT ALL THE IGNITION COILS WOULD FAIL AROUND THE SAME TIME. SO IF ONE FAILED IN ONE CYLINDER, EXPECT THE REST TO NEED REPLACEMENT OR ELSE THEY WILL ALL FAIL SOON AFTER. THIS IS A CATASTROPHIC MECHANICAL FAILURE THAT IF LEFT UNNOTICED WOULD MEAN THE END OF THE CAR. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FIX THIS KNOWN MECHANICAL FAILURE.
A CAR WITH 118K MILES THAT HAS HAD NUMEROUS OIL LEAKS AROUND THE VALVE COVER AND OIL FILTER HOUSING. IT HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL FOR THE LAST 50K MILES. I'VE ALREADY REPLACED THE "PLASTIC" VALVE COVER AND FILTER HOUSING EACH. NOW THE PLASTIC VALVE COVER IS CRACKED. I'M WAITING FOR IT TO CATCH ON FIRE. EVERY BMW BLOG HAS NUMEROUS EXAMPLES THIS ISSUE. I'VE OWNED 10 CARS OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS AND ALL OF THEM ADDED TOGETHER HAVEN'T LEAKED OIL AS MUCH AS THIS POORLY DESIGNED ENGINEERED VEHICLE. IT IS BAFFLING TO ME THAT THE PLASTIC VALVE COVER ($500 PLUS $700 LABOR) HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. ADDITIONALLY, THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS MOVE ALL BY THEMSELVES. THEY ARE ELECTRICALLY POSSESED. I'VE DISCONNECTED THE WIRES BECAUSE IT IS CRAZY TO HAVE THE MIRRORS MOVE WHILE DRIVING (CAN'T BE PUT BACK WITHOUT STOPPING/PULLING OVER AND MANUALLY PUTTING THE MIRROR BACK. AGAIN, EVERY BLOG ON THIS MODEL IS FILLED WITH THIS ISSUE. HOW IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON THESE ISSUES. I WOULD RATHER HAVE AN AIR BAG THAT DOESN'T WORK THAN A MOVING OIL DISPENSER WITH POSSESSED SIDE VIEW MIRRORS.

CONTACTED BMW AND TOLD MY VIN DOES NOT FALL INTO BMW RANGE BUT I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE EXACT FAILURE SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE USED IN 10/2013.
