TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 328XI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ONLY DOOR THAT OPENED WAS THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR. THE OTHER DOORS FAILED TO OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE PASSENGER RED AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND REMAINS ON. IT DOE NOT MATTER IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT OR NOT.
BMW WOULD NOT START CAUSING ME TO JUMP START MY CAR. UPON STARTING MY CAR, MESSAGE ON SCREEN SAYS THAT STEERING WHEEL LOCK MALFUNCTION. THIS HAPPENED TODAY, MAY 18,2018 AT 3:30. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.
WHEN I START A TRIP MY CAR MAKES AN STRONG NOISE ON THE BACK. I'M PRETTY SURE IT COMES FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AXLE-FINAL DRIVE ASSY. MY CAR HAS 123206 MILLES. I USUALLY MAKE ANY MAINTENANCE ON TIME. I'M REALLY WORRY ABOUT THIS STRONG NOISE, CAUSE THIS CAR IS DRIVING EVERYDAY BY MY WIFE WITH OUR BABY INSIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 328I. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER (HENDRICK BMW NORTH LAKE, 10720 NORTH LAKE AUTO PLAZA BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28269). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE DISTRIBUTION BOX HAD OVERHEATED AND MELTED, WHICH WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE FOR THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS A 2007, IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN DECEMBER OF 2006. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EILIGIBLE TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V044000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER CONTINUED TO STATE THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS TWO MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL ELIGIBILITY DATE, THEY STILL WOULD NOT HONOR IT IF IT HAD JUST BEEN ONE DAY OUTSIDE OF THE TIMEFRAME. The contact owns a 2007 BMW 328i. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the engine started smoking and overheating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the power steering failed to operate as needed; however, the contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to several local mechanics and BMW specialists. The vehicle was diagnosed with engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle has remained with the dealer for 3 years. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number 22V119000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
TRANSFER CASE NOISES
TAKARA RECALL. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS OFF. ON THE DASH THE AIRBAG AND SAFETY BELT LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME.
CAR HAD BEEN PARKED IN DRIVEWAY FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR LESS THAN A MILE. THEN IT WENT UP IN FLAMES. NOT TOTALLY SURE WHAT CAUSED THIS, BUT I SEE THAT THERE ARE TWO SAFETY RECALLS/ALERTS POSTED IN OCT 2010 THAT COULD RESULT IN THIS. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED. THIS CAR WAS VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND WE CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THE PROBLEM IF WE HAD KNOWN IT EXISTED.
VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN 10E-A02: N54 CAR IS SMOKING EXCESSIVELY DUE TO FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS DUMPING FUEL INTO THE ENGINE IN AN UNCONTROLLED MANNER. FUEL LEAKING AND FUMES/SMELL, HAZARD, WILL CAUSE FIRE.

WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 75 MPH AND THE HEATER AT 70 DEGREES, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL POPPING NOISE AND A FLASH OF LIGHT UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTED THE GEAR TO THE PARK POSITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT SMELLED SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. UPON EXITING AND RE-ENTERING THE VEHICLE, THE CABIN FILLED UP WITH SMOKE AND SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW FACILITY. THE CONTACT CALLED BMW OF CONCORD (1967 MARKET ST, CONCORD, CA 94520), BUT NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS WERE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTH MOTORS BMW (16215 S DIXIE HWY, MIAMI, FL), BUT WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE TWO RECALLS POTENTIALLY RELATED TO THE FAILURE: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V676000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). BOTH FRONT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY'S HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACE THREE TIMES DUE TO THE BULBS MELTING THEIR BASES - THIS INCLUDES MELTING OF BOTH TURN SIGNALS BULBS. THE COST TO REPLACE A SINGLE FRONT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY IS $990, $1,980 FOR BOTH, TIMES THREE TIMES.... THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE AND IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH BMW 3 SERIES CARS
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON IN RED. THE AIRBAG IS ON RECALL FOR THE TAKATA RECALL AIRBAG. THE STEERING WHEEL WITH A LOCK SIGN OVER IT IS ILLUMINATED IN RED. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START ALL SYSTEMS WERE LOCKED INCLUDING THE STEERING WHEEL. BMW STATED IT WILL COST YOU $100 TO PUT IT ON LIFT AND AN ADDITIONAL $100 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC. I ENDED PAYING $100 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC.
I RECEIVED NOTICE OF A POTENTIAL AIRBAG RECALL FOR MY CAR. WHEN I WENT TO AIRBAGRECALL.COM WEBSITE AND ENTERED MY CAR INFO. I WAS GIVEN 2 RECALLS (NOT THE AIRBAG) THAT WERE ISSUES IN OCTOBER. (PVC VALVE HEATER; BLOWER MOTOR WIRING) IT HAS ALREADY BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALLS WERE ISSUES AND WHEN I CALLED TO SCHEDULE AN APPT TO HAVE THEM RESOLVED. I WAS TOLD PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR 2-6 MONTHS. I CONSIDER 5-9 MONTHS TO GET SAFETY ISSUES ON MY CAR RESOLVED UNREASONABLE. THE MANUFACTURER OBVIOUSLY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM BEFORE THE RECALL WAS EVEN ISSUED. THEY HAVE HAD AMPLE TIME TO IDENTIFY THE QUANTITY NEEDED AND RAMP UP PRODUCTION!
FAILED PRESSURE MAT SENSOR, PASSENGER AIRBAGS DISABLED BMW FAILURE CODE (93C3 OC3) SERVICE BULLETINS ISSUED, HOWEVER EXISTING RECALLS DO NOT COVER MY VIN. CURRENT CONDITION LEAVES PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED.
WHEEL STEERING LOCK LIGHT COMES ON. BMW IS COMPLETELY AWARE OF THIS FLAW IN THEIR CARS, BUT SINCE NHTSA HAS NOT STEPPED IN TO FORCE THEM TO FIX THIS ISSUE AS A RECALL THEY KEEP CHARGING PEOPLE FOR THE REPAIR UNDER A TSB.
I WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE THE PARKING LOT BUT MY CAR WOULDN'T START, I HAVE THE CAR JUMP START, NO GO, STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED THEY HAD TO TOW THE CAR AND GET A TOW TRUCK THAT WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THE CAR LIFTED BECAUSE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED. THIS WAS DUE TO FAULTY STEERING WHEEL COLUMN LOCKS UP AND DRAINS THE BATTERY. DEALER SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEELS LOCK UP AND EVENTUALLY EATS UP THE BATTERY LIFE.
THE BLOWER ON MY BMW 328I STOPPED WORKED. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I RECEIVED TWO INITIAL SAFETY RECALL NOTICES 17V-683 (PCV VALVE HEATER) AND 17V-676 (BLOWER MOTOR WIRING). I TOOK MY CAR TO BMW OF STERLING ON 01/13/2018. I BROUGHT COPIES OF THE TWO SAFETY NOTICES WITH ME AND I PROVIDED THEM TO THE SERVICE AGENT. THE SERVICE AGENT SAID THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THE BLOWER AND CHARGE ME $505 FOR PARTS/LABOR. I SAID THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SERVICE MANAGER. THE SERVICE MANAGER REITERATED WHAT THE AGENT SAID. IF IN THE FUTURE IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE RELATED, I WOULD GET MY MONEY REFUNDED. I SAID THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND I LEFT. BMW KNOWINGLY LET ME LEAVE WITH A SAFETY ISSUE. IN MY OPINION THIS IS DETRIMENTAL RELIANCE.
THE CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED BY BMW NATIONAL DUE TO 2 RECALLS: THE PVC VALVE GASKET AND THE HEATING WIREFRAME. CAR HAD BEEN SHOWING SIGNS OF SMOKE COMING OUT OF HOOD AND SMELL OF PLASTIC BURNED INSIDE THE CABIN. BMW NATIONAL ASKED THE CAR TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. CAR IS ACTUALLY WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 6 WEEKS AND BMW HAS NOT GIVEN ANY PREVISION WHEN IT WILL BE REPAIRED. PLEASE HELP.
THE CAR WILL NOT STOP OVER HEATING AND CUTS OFF WHEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHEN I WAS GOING 65 MPH I ALMOST WASN'T ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER STEERING WHEN IT CUT OFF. I HAVE HAD THE THERMOSTAT WATER PUMP RADIATOR N HOSES AND RESERVOIR REPLACED. AND THE CAR STILL OVER HEATS THERE IS A OPEN RECALL ON THE CAR AND THE DEALER HASN'T INFORMED ME WHEN I CAN BRING IT IN TO BE SERVICED.

AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE, SMOKE CONTINUED TO STREAM FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN THREE HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ANTIFREEZE LEAKED FROM A HOSE ATTACHED TO THE RADIATOR. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (GLOBAL BMW IN ATLANTA, GA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THIS COMPLAINT IS FOR THE PRIMEWELL PZ -900 225/40 ZR18 92 W XL. ON 21DEC17, WHILE DRIVING THE TIRE SUDDENLY LOSS AIR AT AROUND 70 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR BUT IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET TO SAFE AREA TO PULL OVER DUE TO MORNING HOUR COMMUTE TRAFFIC AND SPEEDS INVOLVED. I WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A HOLE OR NAIL BUT AFTER REMOVING THE WHEEL, I FOUND A 2 INCH CRACK LOCATED ON THE INNER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. A LOCAL TIRE SHOP WARNED ME ABOUT A PRIMEWELL TIRE RECALL IN 2017. AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH , THE SAME LOCATION OF THE CRACK AND WHAT HAPPEN TO ME WHILE DRIVING IS THE SAME AS VALERA TOURING II SIDEWALL PROBLEMS THAT LED TO A RECALL. I HAVE NOT CHANGED THE TIRE AND HAVE PHOTOS. ALL PRIMEWELL TIRES NEED TO BE CHECKED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED, THIS IS NOT ISOLATED TO ONE MODEL.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED MAILED CORRESPONDENCE FROM TK HOLDING REGARDING DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS FOR MY 2007 328XI. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO COMPLETE THE CLAIM FORMS MAILED TO MAIL WHICH I DID. SUBSEQUENTLY MY CLAIM WAS DENIED AND TO DATE NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE OR OFFERED FOR THE AFFECTED TAKAKA PARTS INSIDE MY VEHICLE. AS IT MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE WITH THE FAULTY PARTS. I AWAIT RECALL FOR THE TAKAKA INFLATOR RECALL. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BMW OF MT. LAUREL TO FIX IT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE NOT FIXING TAKATA INFLATOR RECALLS AT THAT TIME.
WHEN DRIVING 40 TO 45 MPH ON A CITY STREET VEHICLE DISPLAYS MODERATE OVERHEAT WARNING AND WITHIN MINUTES DISPLAYS HIGH TEMPERATURE OVERHEAT WARNING AND GOES INTO FAILSAFE MODE WHICH MAKE THE CAR COME TO A HALT. THIS COULD CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN A BUSY HIGHWAY. AND AIR FLOW CONTROLLER FOR THE HEATING SYSTEM DOESN'T BLOW HOT AIR.
TAKATA RECALL THE FIRST COMPLAINT IS THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE OR ALLOW ANYONE TO DRIVE A CAR WITH THIS AIRBAG RECALL WHICH HAS IN SOME CASES RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH. THE CAR IS THUS PARKED IN THE GARAGE WHILE THE DEALER TELLS ME THEY CAN'T GET THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS FOR 6 WEEKS AT LEAST WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. SECONDLY, THERE ARE TWO ADDITIONA RECALLS THAT HAVE NO "FIX" AT THIS POINT WHICH COULD ALSO RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I AM AT A LOSS FOR WHAT TO DO WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT IS A HAZARD AND COMPLETELY USELESS FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT WAS INTENDED. THE TWO ADDITIONAL RECALLS ARE BOTH FIRE HAZARDS AND ARE NOT CORRECTABLE AT THIS JUNCTURE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

I CALLED THE BMW ERRHARD IN FARMINGTON HILLS, MI AND I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS YET AND IT COULD BE A YEAR. I'VE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS FOR A YEAR AND HOPE THIS CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF ASAP.
I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT THERE MAY BE A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS IN MY CAR. I USED THE WEBSITE GIVEN TO CHECK FOR ANY RECALLS. IT SAID THE BLOWER MOTOR ON MY CAR HAS A RECALL NOTICE AND I NEEDED TO CALL MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I CALLED AND THEY CHECKED THEIR DATA BASE AND VERIFIED MY CAR INDEED DOES HAVE A RECALL THAT COULD POTINTIALLY CAUSE FIRE. HOWEVER BMW USA HAS NOT PROVIDED REPLACEMENT PARTS. SO THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
BLINKERS CONTINUE TO GO OUT THE BULBS ARE FINE SO ARE THE SOCKETS. THEY SOMETIMES WORK BUT MOST OF THE TIME NOT AFTER READING ONLINE I FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHERS WITH SIMILAR IF NOT THE SAME EXACT ISSUES. ON NOVEMBER 19, 2017, I WAS TRAVELED FROM NYC TO LOWELL, MA. THE CAR EXPERIENCED OF EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AND RADDLING NOISE FROM RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I INVESTIGATED THE RADDLING AND VIBRATION ISSUE FOUND THAT FRONT RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT BOLTS ALL THREE BOLTS SNAPPED WITHOUT WARNING. THE BOLTS FOUND TO BE AN ALUMINUM BOLTS. I BELIEVE THIS BOLTS SHOULD NOT BE AN ALUMINUM, BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF FORCE IN THIS LOCATION. I BELIEVE AN ENGINE MOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED WITH ALUMINUM. I COULD OF GETTING KILL IF NOT KNOWING TO LOOK FOR AND THE CAR COULD CRUSH SINCE ONE SIDE OF THE ENGINE BOLTS SNAPPED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.

I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIPS CLOSEST TO ME AND BOTH SAID THEY ARE BACKED UP UNTIL THE 2ND QUARTER OF 2018. THIS IS SCARY BECAUSE THESE NOTICES ARE SAYING THAT THE AIRBAG ERUPTING COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
