TAKATA RECALL THE RECALL WAS ISSUED FEB 2016 AND IT IS NOW MAY 2017 AND BMW HAS YET RESOLVED THE ISSUE WITH THE RECALL. I LIVE IN SC AND WAS ONE OF THE STATES CONCERTED TO BE THE GULF STATES. ALL I GET FROM BMW IS A RUN-AROUND CLAIMING THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS. IS BMW DEALING WITH THE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER AS I DON'T CONSIDER 14 MONTHS AS TO BEING TIMELY. EVEN MORE SO BASED OFF THE MILEAGE I PUT ON MY VEHICLE EVERY WEEK AS I AM NOT A STANDARD COMMUTER DRIVING 10 MILES TO WORK. THANK YOU. TAKATA INFLATORS YOUR WEB SITE SAID ON 2.5.2016 THAT MY BMW 321 2007 WAS RECALLED BY AN AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THREE MONTH LATER THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. SINCE THEN I'VE HEARD NOTHING FROM THE DEALER. SOME MONTHS AGO I CALLED THE NHTSA & YOUR REP SAID THEY HAD NO CURRENT INFORMATION. MY QUESTION: ARE YOU FOLLOWING UP THE RECALL AND REQUIRING BMW TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS IN THE 2007 BMWS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED BMW OF OCALA AT (352) 861-0234 (LOCATED AT 5145 SW COLLEGE RD, OCALA, FL 34474) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A "PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF/2" MESSAGE ILLUMINATED OFF AND ON NEAR THE SUN ROOF AND CONTROL PANEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR WITH THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED SEVERELY AND RANDOMLY STALLED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V044000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). ALSO, THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIRS WOULD BE COMPLETED. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER FOR THE AIR BAGS WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

RED ELECTRIC STEERING WHEEL LOCK ICON ON SCREEN AND CAR WILL NOT START OR TURN OVER. RADIO WORKS AND EVERYTHING ELSE BUT CAR WILL NOT START. WHEN BATTERY DIED, AND I CHARGED IT FULL, THEN WENT TO START THE CAR AND THIS RED ELECTRIC STEERING WHEEL LOCK CAME ON. HAD TO GET CAR SERVICED

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WIRING HARNESS AND SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE SEAT MAT IS DEFECTIVE CAUSING THE AIR BAG TO NOT READ CORRECTLY THE PASSENGER WEIGHT AND POSSIBLY DEPLOYING WITH A CHILD IN THE SEAT. THE LIGHT REMAINS ON AT ALL TIMES. THERE ARE RECALLS OUT FOR OTHER BMW AUTOS FOR THIS SAME REASON 17V-428 - THIS MODEL AND YEAR WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LIST BUT IS ALSO CARRYING A DEFECTIVE PART.
THIS IS AN ADDITION TO OUR PREVIOUS RECALL PROBLEMS AS ALL ELECTRICAL SHUT OFF AS WELL. HERE ARE THE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS TO BE ADDED TO PUBLIC RECORD THAT INDEED 6 RECALLS WERE RECORDED TO OUR REGISTERED VIN AND YET WAS TOLD BMW HAD NO OBLIGATION TO ADHERE TO THESE DOCUMENTS?! ITS ALSO CRAZY THAT WE HAVE TONS OF DOCUMENTS AND YET WE ARE ALLOWED TO SHOW A MBYTE AT A TIME. HOW CONVENIENT.
LEFT WORK AT 4:30PM ON 01/06/2016, AS WE TURNED OUT OF PARKING LOT MY 2007 BMW 328I JUST DIED IN MID TRAFFIC. THIS OCCURENCE HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE BUT STALLED MULTIPLE TIME ON WAY BACK HOME. ON THE 6TH OF JAN, THE CAR BEGAN TO OVERHEAT AND BURNING OF BATTERY SMELL. CAR WAS TOWED AS ID CODES WERE CHECKED AND ALL SIGNS HAVE POINTED TO SYSTEM FAILURE. UPON FURTHER REVIEW, 6 OPEN RECALLS WAS RESEARCHED USING MULTIPLE VIN REPORT SITES PAID AND FREE INCLUDING BMWUSA.COM/SAFETY RECALL. WE WERE THEN TOLD TO CONTACT THE BMW CONSUMER AND WE WERE TOLD THAT IF THERE IS NO WARRANTY DUE TO PAST MILAGE, RECALLS WERE NOT OBLIGATED BY BMW CONSUMER. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED FABBRINI LAW OFFICE HERE IN CHICAGO REGARDING OUR FEDERAL RIGHTS IN BEING IN A SAFE CAR. HOW MANY LINKS DO WE NEED TO POST IN WHICH STALLING AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN NOTED ON BMWS OWN COMPANY WEBSITE. WE SIMPLY ASK THAT BMW CONSUMER LLC LISTEN TO THIS COMPLAINT LIKE THE MANY OTHERS WHO ARE BEING PUT IN UNSAFE VEHICLES AND WE ASK THAT YOU APPLY YOUR THREE PRONG RULE REGARDING SAFETY HAZARDS SUCH AS THESE THAT WARRANT A REFUND WITH DEAPPRECIATION ADDED, REPLACEMENT OF VEHICLE OR SIMPLY REPAIR THE RECALLS THAT HAVE BEEN NOTED IN THE LAST DECADE AFFECTING MORE THAN MILLIONS WHO ARE LOYAL TO YOUR PRODUCT. WE INTIALLY HAD A 2005 BMW 325I THAT HAD RECALLS AND WE WERE NOT HELPED THEN AND TRADED VEHICLES FOR YET ANOTHER BMW WITH THE HOPES OF BETTER LUCK.
THERE IS A SERIOUS DEFECT WITH THE ENGINE AND FUEL PUMP. IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO ACCELERATE WHEN DRIVING ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR WILL SHAKE, JOLT AND THE ENGINE WILL START TO MAKE A WEIRD NOISE. THERE IS OIL LEAKING CONSTANTLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY COMING ON EVEN AFTER JUST BEING REPAIRED. THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND HAS SHUT DOWN ON ME NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING. I'VE HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES AND YET IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAINST. THE CAR WILL OVERHEAT AT TIMES AND AND JUST SHUT DOWN. I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY CITY STREET WHEN THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN, I COULDN'T STEER OR BRAKE IT JUST DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET. IT WAS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER AS WELL AS THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY WERE DRIVING AT FAST SPEEDS.
NO STAR NO LIGHT NO POWER ONLY LIGHT FOR STEERING LOCK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARK POSITION, THE STEERING LOCK SYSTEM FAILED TO ACTIVATE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE CRANK SHAFT. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE SERPENTINE BELT FRACTURED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING LOCK FAILED AND THAT THE STEERING LOCK MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARTIALLY REPAIRED DUE TO THE DEALER NOT BEING GRANTED APPROVAL FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AS I COASTED DOWN THE ROAD WITH ABSOLUTELY NO BRAKES AT ALL. I WAS TERRIFIED. THERE WAS NO ELECTRICAL POWER TO MY CAR AT ALL FOR ALL OF 10 MINS. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, SWERVING ONTO A SIDE STREET TO LET MY CAR COAST UNTIL IT STOPPED. MY CAR HAS ABSOLUTELY NO COLD CRANK. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND NO ONE CAN FIX IT.
PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT AND SEAT BEAT WARNING LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNS ON BUT IT HAPPENS MOST FREQUENTLY WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
XENON ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS - THE WIRE INSIDE MY XENON ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS IS BRITTLE AND THE INSULATION IS FLAKING OFF. I DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WHEN I OPENED ONE OF MY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES TO REPLACE A BULB. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF WIRE INSULATION HAVE FLAKED OFF AND EXPOSED COPPER WIRING. I HAVE LOTS OF PICTURES. I AM FORTUNATE THAT I DID NOT HAVE A SHORT OR A FIRE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. BMW MUST ALREADY KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A WIRING DEFECT IN THEIR CARS. BMW REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES ARE $2600 PLUS LABOR. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS 2007 BMW 328I E92 WITH 48,000 MILES. BMW WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES.
INSULATION FAILED ON WIRING INSIDE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY, CRUMBLING OFF AND CREATING MULTIPLE EXPOSED BARE COPPER WIRING. DISCOVERED DURING LAMP REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE NOV 21, 2015. I OVERLAID ALL ACCESSIBLE WIRES WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE IN HOPES TO PREVENT A SHORT AND FIRE. SINCE THEN I'VE READ OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS REPORTED BY SEVERAL BMW OWNERS ON BIMMERFORUMS.COM, WITH ATTACHED CORRESPONDENCES FROM BMW DENYING ANY PROBLEM. DEALERS AND REPUTABLE INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS ARE VERY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE.
HEADLAMP WIRING INSULATION IS FLAKING OFF. ALL INSULATION OF ALL WIRES IN BOTH HEADLAMPS HAS TOTALLY DETERIORATED WITHIN EIGHT YEARS OF MANUFACTURE LEAVING EXPOSED WIRES CREATING POTENTIAL SHORT CIRCUIT AND FIRE HAZARD. BMW'S SOLUTION IS TO BUY ANOTHER HEADLAMP AT $1,500 EACH WHICH, PRESUMABLY, WILL ALSO DETERIORATE WITHIN THE NEXT SEVEN TO EIGHT YEARS!
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIWAY, THE ENGINE WILL SHAKE, CAR WILL REV, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THEN ENGINE DIES. CAR LOSES POWER AND IF I'M LUCKY THEN I CAN PULL OVER TO THE SIDE. AFTER SOME RESEARCHING, SOME SERIES HAVE HAD A RECALL ON FUEL PUMP FAILURE. PLEASE REVIEW IF THE 328XI CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
UPON CAR SYSTEM NOTIFICATION THAT A HEADLIGHT MALFUNCTION WAS NOTED I OPEN THE HEADLIGHT ACCESS DOOR ON THE DYNAMIC PROJECTION HEADLAMP TO INSPECT AND REPLACE THE BULB. AT THIS TIME I NOTICED LARGE AMOUNTS EXPOSED WIRING GOING FROM THE CONNECTOR TO THE MAIN HARNESS. AS I CONTINUED TO INSPECT THE WIRING THE INSULATING MATERIAL AROUND THE WIRES CONTINUED TO CRUMBLE EXPOSING MORE WIRING. THIS IS TRUE FOR BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HEADLIGHTS, BOTH HEADLAMPS HAVE SEALED ACCESS DOORS AND IS CONCERNING FOR.ELECTRICAL SHORT OR FIRE HAZARDS IN/NEAR THE HIGH HEAT GENERATED FROM.THE LAMPS AND OR ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS REPORTED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000. HOWEVER MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. HOW CAN I HAVE MY CAR ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. I DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS FAIR THAT BMW WILL NOT FIX THIS FOR FREE CONSIDERING IT WAS REPORTED BUT I WAS JUST UNLUCKY WITH HAVING MY VIN INCLUDED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND AS WELL AS THE YELLOW LIGHT ON FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT. I PURCHASED AN AIRBAG/SRS . THE CODE CAME UP AS 93C3. I TRIED TO CLEAR THE CODE HOWEVER IT WOULDNT CLEAR AND I BELIEVE THAT IS DUE TO THE ISSUE NOT BEING FIXED. I CHECKED ALL OF THE CABLES UNDER THE SEAT FOR THE AIRBAG MAT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I AM REPORTING THIS ISSUE. A FEW YEARS AGO I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN MY DOORS CAUSED BY AN OBVIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS FAULTY ACTUATORS AND THEY HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNED TO NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN OR OUT OF YOUR CAR TO BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, IT WAS DETERMINED THIS A KNOWN ISSUE BY BMW YET THEY REFUSE TO DO A RECALL. THE ISSUE HAS NOW HAPPENED AGAIN TO ME, AND I AM NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, NOT EVEN WITH THE KEY. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS ALMOST LEFT STRANDED UNTIL FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO CRAWL IN TO GET TO DRIVERS SEAT. I AM VERY ANGRY THEY ARE NOT TAKING SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS INTO CONSIDERATION AND DOING A RECALL. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP FIX NOT TO MENTION A THREAT TO MY SAFETY AND PASSENGERS. BMW NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER BMW (THIS IS MY SECOND). MY FIRST CAR HAD CONSTANT ISSUE WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WOULD NOT GO AWAY ALTHOUGH NO ISSUE FOUND WHICH WAS UNSETTLING TO DRIVE WITH. AND NOW THIS CAR IS HAVING SECOND EXPERIENCE WITH DOOR FAILURE. I WILL BE PURCHASING A CAR THAT IS SAFER NEXT TIME!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 BMW 328I. AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THERE WAS A DELAY WITH THE ENGINE. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS SLOW TO RESPOND AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY INDEPENDENTLY SURGED FORWARD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING AT 22 MPH. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, REMOVE THE KEY, AND EXIT THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED PAIN TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND TWO REAR PASSENGERS SUSTAINED MINOR WHIPLASH. EVERYONE REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DRIVERS SIDE BACK DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. THANKFULLY, IT WAS REALIZED IN A NON-EMERGENCY SITUATION. AFTER RESEARCH IT SEEMS THAT THIS ISSUE IS POPULAR AMONG THIS YEAR ON THIS CAR.
AFTER, I PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE. (NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, DAILY ROUTINE, NORMAL CONDITIONS). MY CAR WOULDN'T START. IT DISPLAYED A "POWER STEERING WHEEL LOCKED" ICON WARNING WHEN I TRIED TO START THE IGNITION. THE IGNITION SPARK WASNT THERE. THE LIGHTS ALSO DIMMED AS I TRIED TO GET STARTED.
I PARKED MY VEHICLE AND WHEN I WENT TO START IT IT WOULD NOT START. I GOT A RED ELV STEERING COLUMN LOCK ERROR, BMW CC-ID 186. CAR WILL NOT START.

BATTERY DIED. JUMPSTARTED, DROVE FOR A BIT. TURNED OFF, TURNED BACK ON DROVE HOME. PARKED THE CAR. TRIED TO RESTART AND THE RED ELECTRONIC STEERING WHEEL LOCK INDICATOR WAS ON. PLENTY OF JUICE IN THE BATTERY, CAR WILL NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER. CAN NOT GET INTO NEUTRAL TO TOW OUT. CAR IS DEAD WHERE IT SITS BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK. THANK GOODNESS WE WEREN'T IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 20 MINUTES IN A MALL PARKING LOT. VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 35 MPH AFTER GETTING OFF WORK AT 7:00PM. UPON LESS THAN HALF A MILE FROM MY EMPLOYMENT ANOTHER VEHICLE DRIFTED IN TO MY LANE CAUSING A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT MY 2007 BMW 335I WAS IMMEDIATELY PUSHED BACK IN TO MY KNEES AND THE ONLY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY WAS THE FRONT DRIVER AIRBAG. THE SEATBELT THAT I WAS WEARING ALSO DID NOT LOCK AND I SUSTAINED INJURIES TO MY HEAD FROM HITTING IT AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD. UPON THE VEHICLES COMING TO REST THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS UNABLE TO BE OPENED BUT THE AIRBAG LOCATED ON THE DRIVER SEAT NEVER EVEN DEPLOYED. MY PASSENGER SEAT WAS SHATTERED FROM THE CRASH AND BROKE IN TO SEVERAL PIECES, BUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. AFTER SPEAKING WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND RESEARCHING RECALLS ON THE 2007 BMW 335I. THERE WERE SEVERAL RECALLS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION FROM BMW ON ANY RECALLS CONCERNING THE AIRBAGS. FORTUNATELY I DID NOT HAVE MY WIFE OR KIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME, AS THIS POSSIBLY WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF LIFE. I TRULY BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND THAT A PENALTY OR CLASS ACTION SUIT OF SOME SORT SHOULD BE FILED AGAINST BMW OF NORTH AMERICA FOR THEIR LACK OF SAFETY CONCERNS TOWARDS CONSUMERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 BMW 328I. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT HAND AND BACK, AND THE WHOLE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS BODY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
THIS IS MY THIRD BMW. IN ALL CASES, THE FUEL SENDING UNITS DEVELOP HAIRLINE FRACTURES THAT CAUSE FUEL TO LEAK; IN MY PREVIOUS TWO CARS THIS PROBLEM DEVELOPED AT AROUND 75,000-80,000 MILES. IN THE PRESENT CAR, THE PROPULSION PUMP NEAR THE FUEL TANK ALSO DEVELOPED A HAIRLINE FRACTURE. THE SUBSTANDARD QUALITY OF THESE PARTS CAUSE AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHEREBY FUEL LEAKS CAN CAUSE A FIRE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V044000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

FRONT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY'S, BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT, THE WIRING INSULATION IS FALLING OFF OF ALL THE HEADLIGHT WIRES THUS LEAVING AN ARRAY OF COMPLETELY EXPOSED COPPER WIRING. UPON READING IN THE BIMMER COMPUTER FORUM THIS IS A COMMON HAPPENING IN MOST ~ 2000 VINTAGE BMW'S. BMW'S RESPONSE IS THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND BLAMED ON FLORIDA WEATHER EVEN THOUGH THIS DOESN'T EXIST IN OTHER AUTO MODEL'S.

NO ACCIDENT HAPPENED. HOWEVER, MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AS THIS CURRENT BMW RECALL: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 HOWEVER, EVEN THOUGH MY CAR FALLS WITHIN THE MODEL YEAR 2006/2007 3 SERIES AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL AND IT'S EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL, BMW SAYS MY CAR DOES NOT FALL IN THE RECALL OR EXTENDED WARRANTY. EVERY TIME SOMEONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE WARNING COMES UP THAT THE AIRBAG HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND HAS BEEN DISABLED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.
SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR ON PASSENGER SEAT HAS FAILED. SHOWS AS "AIRBAG LIGHT" ON DASH. BMW ALREADY RECALLED SOME VEHICLES FOR THIS, AND GAVE A 15-YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR CARS INCLUDING MY MODEL AND MODEL YEAR, BUT REFUSE TO HONOR THE WARRANTY FOR MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE BECAUSE IT HAS SPORTS SEATS INSTEAD OF STANDARD SEATS. LOOKUP ON BMW PARTS NUMBERS SHOW THAT THE SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR HAS THE SAME PART NUMBER ON SPORTS AND NON-SPORTS SEATS. NO REMEDY FROM BMW, INCLUDING CONTACT TO BMW USA (HAVE RECORD OF EMAILS, INCLUDING AN OFFER FOR A PHONE CALL I NEVER RECEIVED).

THE BRIDGESTONE TIRES THAT ARE STANDARD ON MY BMW 328I ARE STRESSED WITH BUBBLES FORMING ON THE SIDEWALLS. MY 2007 BMW HAS HAD ALL THE TIRES REPLACED AS A RESULT OF BUBBLES OR BLOWOUTS. THE MOST RECENT WAS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24TH. I TIRE WAS LEAKING AIR AND FOUND TO BE DAMAGED. I BARELY MADE IT BACK TO BMW DEALER 3.2 MILES AWAY FROM WHERE IT HAPPENED. WHEN THEY INSPECTED THE CAR THEY FOUND ANOTHER TIRE THAT HAD A BUBBLE FORMED ON IT CAUSING A FAILED VA INSPECTION. MARCH 2014, THE TIRE BLEW OUT ON I-95 IN GA. THE CAR WAS FLAT BED TOWED TO SAVANNAH WHERE THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. AGAIN CAUSED BY BUBBLES FORMED ON THE SIDEWALL. OVER THE EIGHT YEARS I HAVE HAD THE CAR, I HAVE REPLACED THE 8 TIRES DUE TO BUBBLES. THE CAR HAS 31,115 MILES ON IT. I TAKE EXTRA CARE OF THE CAR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY BRIDGESTONE AND BMW. I HAVE REPEATEDLY TRIED TO DISCUSS THIS WITH THE COMPANIES BUT THEY GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND AND BLAME EACH OTHER. BRIDGESTONE SAID THAT BMW BUILT THE CAR TO LOW TO THE GROUND. BMW SAYS THEY DON'T MAKE TIRES. THIS IS SERIOUS.
