PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERTY. THUS, ANYONE SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT MAY NOT GET AN AIRBAG AT IMPACT. THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS, HOWEVER A LOT OF POSTS ABOUT IT. I CAN SAY THAT THE FRONT SEAT HAS NOT BEEN USED THAT MUCH IN THE CAR NOR BY A LARGE INDIVIDUAL. $1000+ TO REPLACE FOR A $4000 CAR IS TOO MUCH. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (SCHUCHARD'S WESTSIDE GMC INC, 1800 9TH AVE SW, WATERTOWN, SD 57201, (605) 886-5694) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON AND A CHIMING ALARM. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THE ALARM CLEAR IS TO EITHER TURN THE ENGINE OFF OR PRESS THE EMERGENCY BRAKE A LITTLE THEN RELEASE IT. I AM ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SUN ROOF DRAIN RAIL OVERFLOWING. AS I SAW IN ANOTHER POST, I THINK WATER IS THE ISSUE. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN WITH THE BRAKES UNTIL WATER RAN DOWN BOTH OF THE A POSTS. I SAW IN ANOTHER POST THAT OTHERS HAD THIS PROBLEM DURING RAINY TRAVEL. IS ANYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH ENCLAVES? THE SUN ROOF RAIN RAIL ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A LONG TIME NOW. BUT, THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ISSUE IS NEW. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS DUE TO WATER LEAKS.

WHEN THE TAILGATE WAS UTILIZED, THE DOOR WOULD RAISE UP, BUT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY FALL DOWN AND NOT REMAIN IN THE UPWARD POSITION. ALSO, THE SUN ROOF LEAKED WATER INTO THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, MILDEW COVERED THE FRONT AND REAR FLOORS. FURTHERMORE, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED FOR THE TAILGATE OR SUN ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,966.
AFTER A HORRABLE RAIN, I CAME TO MY CAR, AND FOUND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WAS FLOODED.I FOLLOWED THE WATER LEAK AND FOUND IT WAS THE SUNROOF, TOOK THE CAR TO BUICK DEALERSHIP, AND FOUND THE DRAIN TUBE WAS CLOGGED, MY WARRENTY DID NOT COVER IT SO I HAD TO PAY $178.00 FOR THE REPAIR. I THEN LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THERE IS A KNOWN NHTSA ITEM NUMBER ON THE CAR, IT IS 10026482. AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS I FOUND IT IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM, IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED-BLOWN OUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. IF IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED A LONG TIME AGO. I AM ON A LIMITED INCOME AND CAN NOT AFFORD $178.00 EVERY 6 MONTHS.IT IS DESTROYING THE CARPET. I LOOKED ON YOUTUBE TO SEE WHAT THE PROCESS IS IN FIXING IT AND I SEE SO MANY WIRES IN THE PATH OF THE WATER. I THINK THIS IS A BIGGER RISK FACTOR THAN A SIMPLE LEAK. WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 6MONTHS NOW AND THIS IS THE FIRST PROBLEM. I HAVE ONE FAMILY MEMBER AND ONE FRIEND THAT IS INTERESTED IN THIS CAR AND I WILL BE SURE TO LET THEM KNOW OF THE PROBLEMS THAT WE ARE BEGINING TO HAVE. THIS 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE VEHICLE WITH THIS VIN# HAS HAD PROBABLY A HUNDRED OR MORE INSTANCES OVER THE PAST YEAR OF THE BACK HATCH DOOR LIFTING TO ABOUT 2/3 OF THE WAY UP, THEN SUDDENLY FOR NO REASON IT CLOSES AUTOMATICALLY BY ITSELF. THE CLOSE BUTTON WAS NEVER PUSHED. THE MOST RECENT DATE THIS HAPPENED WAS BELOW. PERSONS HAVE HAD TO DUCK OUT OF THE WAY TO AVOID BEING HIT, BUT IT ACTUALLY HAS HIT A PERSON IN THE HEAD SEVERAL TIMES. ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY. IT IS NOT SHOWING UP AS A RECALL ON OUR VIN# ON THE GM RECALL SITE OR ON YOUR WEBSITE, HOWEVER I HAVE SEEN OTHER WEBSITES THAT DISCUSS THIS PARTICULAR MODEL AND YEAR AS HAVING A RECALL FOR THIS SAME REASON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED ON OCCASIONS WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HENDRICK BUICK GMC LOCATED AT CARY 115 TEAM HENDRICK WAY, CARY, NC 27511, (919) 234-7784 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IMPROPER DRAINAGE FROM THE ROOF ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FAILURE. THE DRAINAGE WAS CLEARED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE MOLDED CARPET AND POSSIBLE RESPIRATORY ISSUES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED HEAD ON INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN IT RAINED, WATER LEAKED ONTO THE BATTERY HOUSING AND WIRES. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER WHILE PARKED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER ALSO CAME THROUGH THE SUN ROOF AND FLOWED DOWN THE SIDE CHANNELS ONTO THE FLOORBOARD. IN ADDITION, THE WIRES UNDER THE SEATS GOT WET AND SUBMERGED THE BATTERY IN WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SIMS BUCK GMC (940 BABBIT RD, EUCLID, OH 44123) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.
THE SUNROOF ON THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED DEFECTIVELY, THERE HAS BEEN MANY PEOPLE ONLINE WHO HAVE A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE AND HAVE HAD LEAKS TO THEIR VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED GM BUICK WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR USED AND ADVISED THEM THAT THE SUN ROOF WAS LEAKING, AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO GO TO THEIR DEALERSHIP, WHICH I DID AND THEY CLEANED OUT THE HOSES, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT DID NOT REPAIR THE ISSUE, UNBEKNOWNST TO ME THE VEHICLE WAS STILL LEAKING FROM INSIDE AND LEAK INTO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM CAUSING MY CAR TO MALFUNCTION THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS AMASS, COSTING ME $1,300 TO REPAIR, DUE TO THE AIRBAG MODULE MALFUNCTIONING WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED ACCIDENT AND CAUSE ME TO LOSE MY LIFE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, I AM ASKING THAT YOU WOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR THIS ISSUE AND TO REPAIR ANY OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THE SUNROOF LEAK FOR 2008 MODELS, I'M ASKING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR WHAT I'VE ALREADY PAID, BUICK IS ADVISING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME AND THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALLED ITEM, BUT TO CONTACT YOU ALL TO REPORT IT SO THAT WAY IT COULD BE DOCUMENTED. WARNING AIRBAG LIGHT AND MESSAGE COMES ON AND GOES OFF CONTINUOUSLY WHEN I'M DRIVING MY CAR. I HAVE NEVER BEEN INVOLVED ON ANY CRASH OR INCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE IT JUST CAME ONE FOR NOTHING
THE POWER STEERING SEEMS TO FAIL AT TIMES. IT BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL AFTER STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION OR TRAFFIC LIGHT. IT'S ALSO DIFFICULT TO MAKE TURNS INTO TRAFFIC WHEN I HAVE TO QUICKLY MERGE INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR DOES NOT TURN ON THE FRONT AIRBAG SYSTEM IF AN INDIVIDUAL IS UNDER 150 LBS. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 125,000 MILES AND REPLACING THE SEAT SENSOR IS APPROXIMATELY $1000.
BLACK MOLD FOUND IN VEHICLE, RAIN LEAKED THRU SUNROOF, FOUND FLOOR BOARDS SOAKED IN WATER, MOLD AND MOISTURE PRESENT ON THE DASH, SEATS, AIR CONDITIONING VENTS, AND ALL OVER THE INTERIOR. BACK DOOR LIFTGATE DOESN'T WORK. WAS NOT INFORMED BY SELLER OF HEALTH DANGERS OF THIS VEHICLE, NOR DID HE INFORM US THAT IT HAD BEEN WRECKED BEFORE.

ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND PERFORMED A TIRE ROTATION AND BALANCING. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF LEAKED WATER WHEN IT RAINED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (SELLERS BUICK GMC, FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, 248-579-4892) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A LATER DATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
VARIOUS PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICAL. HAD HARNESS REPLACED (COME TO FIND OUT ITS DUE TO WATER LEAK). AIR BAG SENSORS GO OFF AND ON SO YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW IF ITS WORKING OR NOT. ENGINE SHUTDOWN COMPLETELY AND NOW WHEN ITS STARTED THE ENGINE MAKES LOUD KNOCK. WAS TOLD POSSIBLE TIMING CHAIN. ONLY HAS 140,000.
I TOOK MY CAR TO O'NEIL BUICK TODAY FOR A SAFETY RECALL ON MY ENCLAVE'S LIFT GATE. THE RECALL LETTER FROM THE DEALER SAID THAT THE LIFT STRUTS MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. OBVIOUSLY THE RECALL WORK WOULD BE FREE. I WAS HAPPY TO GET THE LETTER BECAUSE MY LIFT GATE WAS BROKEN. HOWEVER THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALER SAID IT WOULD COST $275 FOR PARTS AND $109 IN LABOR. THAT IS WAS JUST A COINCIDENCE THAT MY BROKEN LIFT GATE WAS BUT NOT COVERED AT ALL BY THE FREE RECALL. THIS FELT LIKE I WAS BEING CHEATED. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK FOR HELP FROM THE NTSA.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THEY WOULD TRY TO WORK WITH THE DEALER TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. I DROVE MY BUICK ENCLAVE 2008 TO VIRGINIA FROM FLORIDA WITH NO PROBLEMS BUT WHEN MY TRIP WAS COMPLETE, I TURNED CAR OFF TO GO IN GAS STATION AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON...IT DID NOT START. IT STARTED TO MAKE A TWITCHING NOISE AS IF SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WAS WRONG. I GOT IT JUMPED..BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT WORKED FINE FOR 6 DAYS. NOW, IT WILL NOT START AT ALL UNLESS IT IS JUMPED. IT ALSO LOCKS THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION IF I TRIED TO START IT WITHOUT A JUMP. THE CAR CONTINUES TO MAKE A TWITCHING NOISE WHEN IDLE. IM AM AGRAID OF A FIRE IGNITING. I NOTICE THAT EACH TIME I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR , IT HAD RAINED SIGNIFICANTLY THOSE DAYS. I KNOW OF ANOTHER OWNER THAT IS HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITB THEIR 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. PLEASE HELP!

THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE ONE YEAR AGO, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FAILED. THE DEALER (BUICK GMC OF MAHWAH, 386 NJ-17, MAHWAH, NJ 07430, (201)-252-4475) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
NUT CAME LOSE AND FELL OFF CAUSING HYDRAULIC FLUID TO LEAK FROM FEONT MOTOR MOUNT
I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON.
ROUGH SHIFTING WITH A VERY NOTICEABLE 'SHIMMY' OR SHAKING DURING DRIVING.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND A BUNCH OF A.C. COOLANT CAME OUT ALL AT ONE TIME AND WENT INTO MY EYES WHILE I WAS DRIVING. NOW MY A.C. WON'T WORK. MY HUSBAND HAS TRIED TO PUT MORE FREON IN BUT IT KEEPS DOING THE SAME THING. WE TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR LEAKS HOWEVER THEY SAID THE EVAPORATOR CORE WAS THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THEY SEE TONS OF THESE ISSUES WITH THESE MODELS AND YEARS OF VEHICLES AND THEY ALL HAVE LOW MILES ON THEM WHEN IT HAPPENS SO I GUESS OURS JUST FAILED LATER THAN OTHERS. HE SAID THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL WITH AS MANY AS THERE ARE AND TO REPORT IT HERE. ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF RECALLS AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A LEMON. GM HAS HAD NOTHING BUT RECALLS WITH THEIR ENCLAVES, ACADIAS AND SATURNS IN THE YEARS 2008-2010 MODELS AND ALL OF THESE MODELS HAVE THE EVAPORATOR ISSUE! THE COST TO FIX THIS IS $2,000!!! THE EVAPORATOR SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT ON A VEHICLE LIKE THIS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT GIVEN A CAUSE FOR THE DEPLOYMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V118000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
SUNROOF WATER LEAK. WHEN IT RAINS WATER POURS FROM ALL PARTS OF THE ROOF ONTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. FROM FALLING WATER TO WATER RUNNING DOWN THROUGH THE WALLS OF EVERY PART OF THE CAR. IT HAS STARTED TO CAUSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE AND ALSO I HAVE FOUND MOLD UNDER THE CARPET WHERE THE WATER ACCUMULATES. IT IS USUALLY 1 TO 2 INCHES OF WATER ON THE FLOOR BOARDS AFTER RAINING. CAUSING MOLD, RUST AND MILDEW. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER IT RAINS, A LITTLE OR ALOT. THIS MAY BE CAUSING UNHEALTH IISUES. IT WOULD BE SMART FOR BUICK TO FIX THESE ISSUES NOW BEFORE MEDICAL BILLS ARE INVOLVED.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE ON APRIL 6TH, 2017 WITH OUR TWO YOUNG DAUGHTERS (SPRING BREAK). OUR 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE MADE A SUBTLE NOISE, THEN A SECOND NOISE THAT WAS A BIT LOUDER. I PULLED OVER JUST IN TIME FOR ME AND MY LITTLE ONES TO GET OUT. WITHIN SECONDS, THE CAR WAS SMOKING HEAVILY WITH FLAMES FALLING TO THE GROUND; AND THEN WITHIN MINUTES, IT WAS BURNING FIERCELY. TWO GOOD SAMARITANS HAD PULLED OVER. A LADY RUSHED TO GRAB MY KIDS AND RAN WITH THEM TO HER CAR. THE 2ND (A FORMER POLICE OFFICE) CALLED 9-1-1. THE FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED ON SCENE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE, BUT THE CAR HAD PRACTICALLY BURNED TO A TOTAL LOSS. WE STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE. JUST WORRIED THAT THIS MIGHT NOT BE A ONE-OFF. I HAVE INCLUDED THE FIREFIGHTER'S REPORT. GEICO HAS DEEMED THE CAR A TOTAL LOSS. NOT SURE I CAN TRUST ANOTHER BUICK. ALL OUR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES WHO DRIVE THIS SAME CAR WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED--AS DO WE.

THIS IS A 1 OWNER VEHICLE, NOT DRIVEN LONG DISTANCES OR ON SALTED OR ROUGH TERRAIN. IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH STABILIZER BARS, SHOCKS, STRUTS, AND BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE NOT PUT BACK ON PROPERLY THE BRAKES AND ROTORS, AND IN 2011 THE GEAR BOX HAD A LEAK WHICH WAS REPLACED. NOW AFTER SPENDING $4K IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS, I AM BEING TOLD THE RACK AND PINION (WHICH IS THE SAME AS THE GEAR BOX) IS LEAKING AGAIN! I ONLY HAVE 74K MILES ON THIS CAR! I PREVIOUSLY HAD A 1990 CHEVY SUBURBAN THAT NEVER HAD THESE KINDS OF ISSUES! AND YET HERE ALONE I SEE OVER 80 ISSUES FOR THE POWER STEERING ALONE! MAKE GM RECALL THIS VEHICLE OR I FULLY INTEND TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND INCLUDE YOUR ORGANIZATION AS WELL FOR FAILURE TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC!

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE HEADLINER NEEDED TO BE REMOVED IN ORDER FOR A WATER TEST TO TAKE PLACE TO INDICATE THE ORIGIN OF THE LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.

UNABLE TO RESTART I WAS ABLE TO PUSH INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALL FOR HELP, IT WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO SAID ROLLOVER SWITCH TRIPPED. 2 DAYS LATER ENGINE TURNED OFF AGAIN WHILE EXITING HIGHWAY AT THE SAME SPEED BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART IN NEURAL AFTER A MIN STOPPED, I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO MY MECHANIC WHO RESET COMPUTER AND DROVE IT AROUND FOR 3 DAYS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM ON COMPUTER. 2 DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING 45 M/HR ENGINE TURNED OFF AGAIN. I WAS ON A SMALL DECLINE 2 LANE BUSY ROAD AND ABLE TO RESTART IN NEUTRAL POSITION. A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER PARKED FOR A FEW HOURS BUT WOULD START IN NEURAL EVENTUALLY AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, 12/24/2016 WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY 2 LANE STREET IN TOWN ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES AT 20 M/HR. UNABLE TO RESTART AND PASSENGERS HAD TO GET OUT OF MY BUICK AND PUSH INTO NEAREST PARKING LOT. UNABLE TO RESTART, TOWED ON 12/26/2016 TO LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED BY A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP PER THE SUGGESTION OF BUICK USA. THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM PER COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS AND ARE TRYING TO TELL ME THERE IS SOME WATER DAMAGE BEHIND DASH ON FUSE BLOCK THAT WILL COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR BUT NO GUARANTEE THAT THAT IS THE PROBLEM I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH LIGHTS, RADIO , AC OR ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT WOULD LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE FUSE BLOCK HAS WATER DAMAGE..PER GM FORUMS THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH IGNITION SWITCHES OR IGNITION CONTROL MODULE . TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION RUNNING HOT. THERE HAVE RECALLS ON BUICK ENCLAVE 2008, BUT THEY CLAIM ITS CERTAIN VINS. IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR LIKE IT SHOULD WHEN THE CAR IS HOT AND THEN YOU GET A WARNING TRANSMISSION HOT ENGINE IDLE. AT 90K MILES VEHICLE HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALONG WITH WARNING FOR STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL. LATER THAT DAY THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND STALLED AT A RED LIGHT. THE BUICK DEALER IDENTIFIED TIMINIG CHAIN AND TIMING ACTUATOR AS ISSUES. THESE PARTS WERE REPLACED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WE PURCHASED. AT 104K MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN; THE DEALER SAYS IT IS THE SAME TIMING CHAIN THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. BUT THIS GM NOR THE DEALER CAN EXPLAIN WHY THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED AFTER ONLY 14K MILES OF USE. TIMING CHAIN APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE ON 2008 ENCLAVE EVEN THOUGH GM HAS REFUSED TO COVER THEM. ALSO IT APPEARS THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT ANY BETTER.
VEHICLE MAKES A UNFAMILIAR SOUND IN SHIFTING IN 3RD AND 5TH GEARS. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TRANNY IS STAINING TO COMPLETE THE SHIFT. THE NOISE DOESN T HAPPEN EVERY TIME. THE NOISE IS ANNOYING AND THE SHIFT SEEMS A LITTLE SLOWER.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.

I HAD THE LAST POWER STEERING PUMP PUT IN AT 149,432 MILES 11/23/16. MY CONCERN TO YOU AND BUICK IS ABOUT EVERY 25K POWER STEERING GOES OUT. I OWN BUICK ENCLAVE 2008. IT WAS PURCHASED IN OCT 2016. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. IT GOES ON AND OFF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IF YOU JUMP AND MOVE AROUND IN THE SEAT. SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET THE WARNING LIGHT TO GO TO OFF. BUT MOST OF THE TIME THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON. IT DOESNT SEEM TO MATTER IF YOU ARE 150 OR 225 POUNDS. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR MOVING OR SITTING STILL, IT HAPPENS IN THE CITY AND DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, TURNING OR DRIVING STRAIGHT. IT IS REDICULACY UNSAFE FOR THE PASSENGER!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RON SMITH BUICK GMC (1900 AUTO CENTER DR, MERCED, CA 95340), BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,500.
I HAVE FINANCED THIS 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE, WHICH I GOT IN FEBRUARY 2016. LOVE THE CAR AND ALL THE SPACE IT HAS. THAT WAS UNTIL TODAY! THIS WEEK AS I WAS LEAVING THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO REVERSE. ONCE I GOT IT INTO NEUTRAL I WAS ABLE TO BACK DOWN THE INCLINE FROM THE CARPORT TO THE STREET. IT DID SHIFT INTO DRIVE, BUT WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 25 MPH ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND STAYED IN FIRST THE WHOLE TIME. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL CHEVY/GM DEALER AND HE SAID TO BRING IT IN. I COULDN'T BECAUSE I WAS AT WORK. THIS MORNING THE DEALER CALLED AGAIN AFTER BEING ASKED TO BY MY HUSBAND AND SENT A TECHNICIAN TO MY HOME. THE TECH CHECKED IT AND WROTE SOME CODES DOWN AND WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER THEN CALLED AND SAID IF I COULD GET THE CAR TO HIM HE WOULD HAVE THE TECH CHECK THE FUSES AND RELAYS. HE CHECKED THE CODES HE HAD PULLED AND CHECKED ALL FUSES AND RELAYS AND SAID THAT I NEEDED TO CONTACT A TRANSMISSION SHOP BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WAS NOT TALKING TO THE TRANSMISSION. ALL OF THIS AFTER AN ALMOST HOUR TRIP TO DRIVE 8 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DRIVE THAT SAME 8 MILES BACK HOME BECAUSE WE KEPT HAVING TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOP THE ENGINE AND THEN RESTART IT AGAIN ON THAT SAME BUSY HIGHWAY. WE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES (PEOPLE DRIVING THE 65 MILE SPEED LIMIT NEARLY REAR ENDING US). SURELY THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE SURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE!
