Vehicle rear-ended at high rate of speed. Impact included rollover. Driver was buckled but seatbelt and/or seat failure and no air bag deployment for either occupant. Serious bodily injury occurred. Vehicle on hold pending further police investigation and scene reconstruction by multiple agencies.
The contact owns a 2006 Buick LaCrosse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the headlights activated, the front driver’s and passenger’s side low-beam headlights intermittently failed to remain illuminated, making it difficult to see the roadway. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the HDM headlamp driver module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact referenced the NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V519000 (Exterior Lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.
So many issues with the Buick. Made of glass. First I had no coolant line and I took it to be inspected before at, Baumen Ford and they said everything was fine with it. Turns out needed new coolant line, head gasket, timing cover, and switch. 5 new tires, rebuilt transmission, epc solenoid, transmission lines, rear pivot, left front wheel barring, formed band, and many many more. Currently with everything replaced and more that I haven’t listed/can’t state because don’t know the term. Already Has costed me 10k. And still have issues, with the APP, code P1125, P2120, P2138, & C0240. Need to inspect these car Models from 2003-2009 as they all have similar issues and nothing has been done.

In spite of multiple wheel alignments, where all of the wheels are in alignment with each other, this car still pulls sharply to the right. It is noted amongst internet discussion groups that General Motors/Buick has a common problem with a steering sensor/computer interface that causes this steering problem. I have contacted dealerships, along with Buick's California "response team" with no solution. Everybody I've spoken to so far appears to be clueless about this problem which I suspect is not a truthful response from them. The pulling has been going on for approximately 10 years, but my father (the original owner of this car) was already elderly at the time and had difficulty talking with people on the phone because of hearing loss. He let this fester. This is a serious issue because of the consistent pulling that could lead to lane drifting and cause an accident.

Low beam headlights intermittently go out. Work ok one minute, then go dark. Very dangerous. Known issue under GM recall # 14291. The national highway traffic safety administration campaign ID number 15V-519. Problem has been confirmed by West-Herr Dodge in Rochester NY. Per info I have found this does not appear to have been permanently fixed by GM. As such the repair should be done at no charge going forward.

The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle began to shake and vibrate and the felt like that the front passenger’s side tire was about to detach from the vehicle. The contact slowed down and drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tie rod and wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the repairs had not been performed by the first independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AT DIFFERENT TIMES. WAS WORKED ON BY DEALERSHIP FOR PROBABLY A YEAR IN ? 2013 AND 2014.
THE STABILIZER BAR BROKE AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL HAD 2 LUG BOLTS BREAK AND ALL THE LOTHERS LUG NUTS SPUN OFF. THANK THE LORD THAT THE WHEEL DID NOT COME OFF. I CALLED THE BUICK DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT $259.00 FOR THE STABILIZER BAR THAT'S IF I DIY THE STABILIZER BAR. WHY IF YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. HAVE YOU NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V519000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN HENDRICK CHEVROLET BUICK GMC SOUTHPOINT LOCATED AT (127 KENTINGTON DR, DURHAM, NC 27713), WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL WAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
NO POWER STEERING PRESENT WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS AND POWER STEERING FLUID KEEPS GETTING LOW. IT MUS BE TOPPED OFF EVERY WEEK..

FAULKNER BUICK GMC HARRISBURG (2650 PAXTON ST, HARRISBURG, PA 17111, (877) 891-7240) STATED THAT THE SPECIAL WARRANTY COVERAGE EXPIRED IN 2017 AND THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK WITH AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE LOW BEAMS HEADLIGHTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,500. *PM *TP
LOW-BEAM HEADLAMPS TURNED OFF WHILE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. HIGH-BEAM LIGHTS STILL FUNCTIONAL. WHILE DRIVING, MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD SUDDENLY TURN OFF WITHOUT WARNING, AND I'D HAVE TO USE MY HIGH-BEAMS. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THEY WOULD COME BACK ON. THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES, BUT NOW THE LOW-BEAMS DON'T COME ON AT ALL. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED FOR SOME REASON.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING AND THE CONTACT COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT NIGHT MORE THAN A FEW TIMES AND WAS A DANGER TO THE CONTACT. ALSO, THE "LIGHTS OR ILLUMINATION REQUIRED" MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO QUIRK BUICK (1250 S WILLOW ST, MANCHESTER, NH 03103, (603) 263-4900) WHO STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
HEADLAMP FAILURE - KNOWN RECALL #14291 MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, BUT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE SAME ISSUE. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT, THE LOW BEAM AND DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS WENT OUT. I HAD MY YOUNGEST CHILD WITH ME AT THE TIME. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE RECALL WASN'T COVERED AND I HAD TO PAY THE $360 BILL.
HELLO, MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE REGULAR BEAM HEADLIGHTS KEEPS GOING OUT DUE TO THE WIRING GETTING HOT FOR SOME REASON. NO AFTERMARKET HIGHLIGHTS OR BULBS BEEN ADDED. THE WIRING IS MELTING COMPLETELY. YOU CAN SEE SMOKE COMING FROM THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. I'M ALSO EXPERIENCING MY ENTIRE DASH GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING FOR 2-SECONDS THEN COMES BACK ON, I'M NOT SURE IF THE WIRING THAT'S SHORTING OUT FROM MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AFTER BURNING IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE OR NOT SINCE THE WIRES BEGINS TO TOUCH AFTER THE WIRE COVERING IS BURNED. I CONTACTED BUICK THE MANUFACTURE, AND THEY ARE GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND ASKING ME QUESTIONS THAT DOESN'T EVEN PERTAIN TO THE ISSUES AT HAND, LIKE WHEN WAS YOUR LAST OIL CHANGE? THIS ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE A FIRE AND PREVENT VISIBILITY FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS TO SEE ME AT NIGHT, PLUSH GETTING A TICKET FROM THE POLICE FOR HAVING NO HEADLIGHTS. THIS SHOULD BECOME A RECALL ISSUE IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AND WILL NOT OPEN. IT WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE LOCK BUTTON OR WITH THE KEY. I HAVE TO CLIMB OVER THE PASSENGER SEAT TO ENTER AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. I LOOKED THE PROBLEM UP ONLINE AND FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IN AN ACCIDENT.
MY FRONT HEADLAMP LOW-BEAM KEEP BURNING OUT ...WAS SUPPOSE TO BE REPAIRED BY RE=CALL...HAVE REPLACED LAMP AND WIREING 4 MORE TIMES SINCE DEALEARS FIX
RECALL IN 2014 RE: IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE OF MORE THAN ONE KEY ON KEYRING IN IGNITION. WEIGHT WOULD CAUSE CAR TO SHUTDOWN(TURN OFF IGNITION) IN A CRASH THUS NOT ALLOWING AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. RECALL STARTED IN 2014. DID NOT OWN THE CAR UNTIL 2017. WAS NOT AWARE OF RECALL. SON WAS INJURED IN CRASH OF SUCH VEHICLE ON 2/16/19. HIT A TELEPHONE POLE AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH. FRONT NOR SIDE CURTAINS DID NOT DEPLOY RESULTING IN SEVERE TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY TO BRAIN STEM. WAS IN COMA FOR 6 DAYS. 10 WEEKS IN ICU AND REHAB. IS IMPAIRED NOW EFFECTS WALKING , SPEECH, ADL SKILLS, MEMORY. WILL NEED LONG TERM CARE.WS TRAVELING G ON A RURAL ROAD, HIT PATCH OF BLACK ICE, O ERCORRECTED AND SLID ACROSS ROAD HITTING UTILITY POLE AT 60-70 MPH.. NEEDED TO BE EXTRICATED FROM VEHICLE, UNCONSCIOUS VICIOUS, WAS WEARING SEATBELT. *DT VIN NOT AVAILABLE.*JB

EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR THE LIGHTS WON'T STAY ON. I CHANGE THE BULBS AND IT STILL DOING THE SAME THING. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IGNITION IS ACTING UP TO.
WHEN CAR IS OFF, THE HEADLIGHTS COME ON RANDOMLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND NIGHT. THIS IS DRAINING THE BATTERY AND THE CAR IS UNABLE TO START. CAR WAS PURCHASED IN 2016 AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING RANDOMLY FOR 2 YEARS.
BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. LIGHT SWITCH WAS IN "AUTO" POSITION. SWITCHING TO MANUAL POSITION - LOW BEAM LIGHTS STILL WON'T OPERATE. HIGH BEAM AND MARKER LIGHTS WORK AS THEY SHOULD. RESEARCHING CAUSE I FOUND A NHTSA RECALL NO.15V519000 (GM NO.14291) FOR A FAULTY HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE (HDM) WHICH ADRESSED THE ISSUE. REACHED OUT TO BUICK AND WAS TOLD THE MODULE FOR THIS VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED IN 2016 (ORIGINAL OWNER), ISSUE CLOSED. I APPEALED THAT IF THE CORRECTIVE HDM FAILED AGAIN THEN THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE EXISTS AND THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE PART AT FAULT AS MANY TIMES AS NECESSARY OR MODIFY THE MODULE NOT TO FAIL CONTINUOUSLY. WHAT IS THE POLICY IF A RECALL FIX IS REPLACING WITH A FAULTY PART? THANK YOU.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, BOTH HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE AREA THAT I LIVE IS RURAL AND BACK ROADS DO NOT HAVE STREET LIGHTS. WHILE THE BRIGHTS WERE WORKING, THAT ALSO CREATED A HAZARDOUS CONDITION, AS THE BRIGHTS COULD TEMPORARILY BLIND AN ONCOMING DRIVER, ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS ON NARROW 2 LANE ROADS. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO ART MORAN BUICK DEALERSHIP AND I PAID OVER $300.00 TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT MODULE. I WAS TOLD THAT GM ONLY COVERED THIS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE TO 12 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. THIS HAPPENED SIX MONTHS PAST THAT DATE. THE CAR HAS 98,300 MILES ON IT AS OF TODAY. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD, AND NHTSA SHOULD REQUIRE A FULL RECALL. I HAVE THE RECALL LETTER FROM GM, AS WELL AS THE PAID BILL FOR THE REPAIR FROM THE BUICK DEALER. HOWEVER, I AM NOT A COMPUTER GENIOUS, SO TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THESE DOCUMENTS TO YOU.
WHILE DRIVING WITH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT SETTING MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. I TRIED TO GO FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL BUT THE LIGHTS REMAINED OUT. HIGH BEAMS CONTINUED TO WORK AS NORMAL. A VERY DARK NIGHT ON A TWO LANE ROAD WITH OPPOSING TRAFFIC AND THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WAS UNPLEASANT AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I ALMOST WENT OFF THE SIDE INTO A DITCH WITH A DROP OFF AND TREES WHEN I COULD NOT SEE. THIS WAS COMPOUNDED BY OPPOSING TRAFFIC AND A NEAR HEAD ON SITUATION. THE BUICK DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THE WARRANTY AND RECALL HAD JUST EXPIRED BOTH BY THE DATE OF A 2006 CAR AND THAT MY MILLAGE HAD EXCEEDED THE LIMITS OF THE RECALL.. A HEAD ON CRASH OR OVER A DROP OFF INTO TREES WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. I WILL BE SPREADING THE NEWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THAT HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.THE RECALL WAS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE BUICK DEALERSHIP UPON MY FIRST CONTACT TELEPHONE CALL. AFTER A LITTLE RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY. RECALL NO. 15V519000 STATES THAT THE BUICK OWNERS MAY NOT BE INFORMED OF AN EXPANDED WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE WITH A CAR LOAD OF CHILDREN GETS WIPED OUT IN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BY NOTIFICATION BY THE MANUFACTURE OF THE AUTO IN QUESTION. I NOTICED MANY DIFFERENT MODELS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS MANUFACTURES DEFECT. I CAN SEE MANY LAW SUITS COMING UP SINCE THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. I WILL BE ADDRESSING THIS WITH MY SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEN I AM DRIVING SOMETIMES THE AUTOMATIC LIGHTS SHUT OFF AND THE ONLY LIGHTS THAT WILL WORK ARE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS. CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME OF THE DAY.
WHILE DRIVING, THE LOW BEAMS WILL RANDOMLY TURN OFF. THIS IS NOT PROVOKED BY BUMPS OF ANY KIND, THEY JUST TURN OFF DURING RANDOM TIMES. THEY HAVE TURNED OFF ON HIGHWAYS, ON A CITY STREET, AT A STOPLIGHT, THERE IS NO CONNECTION TO THE TIMES IT STOPS WORKING. THE HIGH BEAMS CONTINUE TO WORK, AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE LOW BEAMS START TO WORK AGAIN. THIS BECOMES PROBLEMATIC DURING NIGHT DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IN TOWNS, WHEN IT IS RAINING, AND WHEN IT IS FOGGY.

MY LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT CAUSE. SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK ON AND SOMETIMES THEY STAY INOPERABLE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.
BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS CUT OFF AND DO NOT TURN BACK ON. IT HAPPENS A COUPLE TIMES A DAY AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS BOTH IN THE CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY
MY CAR GOES INTO STARTING DISABLE AND IT CUTS THE CAR OFF IN TRAFFIC HAVING ME WAIT FOR ATLEAST 5 TO 10 MINUTES TO RESTART
HEADLIGHTS HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN. ONLY HIGH BEAMS WORK. MY GRANDSON NOTICED A RECALL HE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THAT OUR VIN NUMBER WAS NOT LISTED. SAME MODEL AS THOUSANDS OF OTHERS.. HE REPLACED HEADLIGHT MODULE AND BOTH BULBS ABOUT 70 DOLLARS LOST. THIS HAPPENED AT NIGHT WHILE GOING DOWN ROAD IN HEAVY RAIN ON 2 LANE

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WITH THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE PARK POSITION, THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND CLOSED THE DOOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD AND NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE OF A FRIEND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
VEHICLES LOW BEAM LIGHTS WENT OUT FOR NO REASON BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. WORKED AN HOUR BEFORE AND JUST QUIT. HIGH BEAMS WILL WORK. READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME THING WHILE LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED AND MADE AN ABNORMAL HUMMING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS DEPLETED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO LACK OF PART AVAILABILITY THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. UPDATED 06/02/17*LJ *CN
I TOOK A SHORT TRIP EARLIER TODAY AND WHEN I GOT HOME I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCKING OR UNLOCKING OF THIS DOOR BEFORE AND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I UNLOCKED THE DOOR IT REMAINED LOCKED AND UNABLE TO BE OPENED. THE LOCK INDICATORS SHOWED THAT THE DOOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNLOCKED BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR/MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V417000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V519000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON BOTH SIDES STOPPED FUNCTIONING. HIGH BEAMS STILL WORK. VERIFIED THAT BULBS AND/OR FUSES WERE NOT THE PROBLEM. SAME ISSUE AS NHTSA RECALL 15V519000 GM RECALL 14291. CONTACTED GM WHO CLAIMED MY PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. AS MENTIONED IN PREVIOUS COMMENTS, THAT MAKES NO SENSE. IF ITS THE SAME PROBLEM AS OTHER RECALLED CARS HAD WHY ISN'T MY CAR ALSO RECALLED? IN MY OPINION GM NEEDS TO RECALL ALL CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM OR SUPPLY A VALID REASON WHY SOME CARS ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL.
