MY DAUGHTER BORROWED MY CAR.ON THE WAY BACK, AT NIGHT, WITH TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR ,ON THE HIGHWAY THE LIGHTS GO OFF. SHE PULLS OVER AND TRIES TO GET THEM ON. THANK GOD HER HUSBAND WAS FOLLOWING HER IN THEIR CAR, WHO SHE FOLLOWED ,SO SHE COULD SEE. SO I GO TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE TO BUY BULBS TO FIND OUT I DON'T HAVE ANY LIGHTS IN THE FRONT. SO I GO TO THE GARAGE, THEY REPLACE THE BULBS FOR THE DAYLIGHTS. NOW HIGH BEAMS FLICKER AND STILL NO LIGHTS.THEY SAY I NEED A MODULAR. I CALL BUICK AND THEY TELL ME MY CAR IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL. THIS IS A BAD SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND SHOULD INCLUDE ALL MODELS.
THE HEADLAMPS ARE DEVELOPING A FILM (COMMON W VEHICLES OF THIS ERA TO PRESENT) OF WHICH CANNOT BE ERASED EVEN WITH SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS ( SUCH AS CERTAIN HOUSEHOLD COMPOUNDS- TOOTHPASTE, FURNITURE POLISH, ETC.) I CONSIDER THIS A SEVERE SAFETY DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING DESIGN. THE CAR COMPANIES SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING BASIC AUTO SAFETY ELEMENTS THAT ENDURE THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.
I DRIVE AT NIGHT AND THE LOW BEAM LIGHT OUT SIDE SHOTS OFF THAT I CAN NOT SEE THE ROAD TO DRIVE UNTIL I TURN ON THE HIGH BEAM TO GET TO MY PLACE. NOW THE LOW BEAM LIGHT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC, THEY COUL NOT FIND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IT IS OF A MATTER OF SAFTY ISSUE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WHEN LIGHTS GO OFF . I WAS DRIVING LAST NIGHT AND THE LIGHT LOW BEAM WENT OFF " DANGEROUS " I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY STREETS, I COULD NOT GO TO HYWAY. I NORMALLY DRIVE IN HIWAY.

IN ADDITION, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE DEALER (COGGIN BUICK GMC IN JACKSONVILLE, 7245 BLANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244, (904) 638-1115) WAS NOTIFIED. THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE A SPECIFIC REMEDY TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN TELLING THE CONTACT TO REPLACE THE BULB AND, IF THE FAILURE RECURRED, TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULBS FOR THE LOW BEAMS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, BOTH HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS EVENTUALLY ILLUMINATED; HOWEVER, THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS REMAINED OFF. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V519000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE HDM MODULE FAILED LEAVING NO LOW BEAMS WHILE DRIVING IN A RURAL AREA AT NIGHT. VIN WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL ALLOWING BUICK TO IGNORE THE PROBLEM AND LEAVE THE OWNER TO PAY. *TR
TAKATA RECALL, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS GO OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES STARTING IN 2011 BUT HAVE COME BACK ON UNTIL 10/14/2016, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A BUSY CITY STREET. NOW THE LOW BEAMS DO NOT WORK AT ALL. THE RECALL DESCRIPTION MATCHES TO WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL BUICK DEALER INFORMED ME MY CAR VIN # IS NOT ON THEIR RECALL LIST. *TR
LOW BEAMS DO NOT FUNCTION, ONLY HIGH BEAMS. WHEN HEADLAMPS ARE SWITCHED TO LOW BEAMS THEY GO DARK. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A DARK RURAL ROAD WITH NO STREET LIGHTS.
MY HEADLAMPS HAVE GONE OUT ON ME THREE TIMES (OCT. 7, 2016, NOV. 3, 2016, AND NOV. 9, 2016 ) WHILE EITHER DRIVING TO WORK OR DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND IN THE DARK. THE FIRST TIME, I TURNED THE SWITCH OFF AND BACK ON. THE LIGHTS REMAINED ON FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRIP. THE SECOND TIME, THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SWITCH, AND WERE OUT BRIEFLY. THE THIRD TIME, THE LIGHTS WERE OUT LONGER THAN THE SECOND TIME, BUT THEY DID COME BACK ON WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SWITCH. THE FIRST AND SECOND TIMES HAPPENED ON A RATHER BUSY STATE ROAD WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. THE THIRD TIME HAPPENED ON A STREET NEAR MY HOME AT ABOUT 20- 35 MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING A APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS LATER BEGAN TO OPERATE AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK ABOUT THE STATUS OF A PRIOR COMPLAINT THAT I SUBMITTED AND WAS WRITTEN BACK ONCE ABOUT. MY COMPLAINT READ AS FOLLOWED: 'THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS PERMANENTLY FAIL TO ILLUMINATE. HIGH BEAM HEADLAMPS ARE NOT AFFECTED. GM REFUSES TO INCLUDE THIS VIN IN IT'S RECALL OF BUICK LACROSSE VEHICLES FOR THIS ITEM BUT INCLUDES OTHERS OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. THE REPLACEMENT PART AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMER ONLY REPAIRS THIS ISSUE FOR A SHORT TIME. BUICK IS REQUIRING ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OF SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER AUTOMOBILES OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL BY TAKING IT TO A DEALER WHERE THE NEW PART IS ONLY AVAILABLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS QUITE EXPENSIVE COMPARE TO MY REGULAR AUTO REPAIR PLACE. I FEEL THAT THE BUICK COMPANY IS ACTING INAPPROPRIATELY IN ONLY COVERING SPECIFIC VIN NUMBERS OF LACROSSE FROM 2006.'
INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH HEADLAMPS GOING DARK WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT FORCING ME TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS APPEAR TO WORK ALTHOUGH I WOULDN'T NECESSARILY NOTICE IF THEY GO DARK DURING THE DAY. I UNDERSTAND GM HAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WANT TO KNOW IF MY VEHICLE QUALIFIES. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE FROM GM ALTHOUGH I READ THEY HAVE STARTED TO SEND NOTICES OUT IN MAY 2016.
ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR TURNS OFF, NO POWER STEERING EVERYTHING GOES. AFTER FINDING A WAY TO PULL OVER AND AFTER ABOUT 5 MINS I TURN THE CAR BACK ON THE CONTINUE.

IN ADDITION, THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CAUSE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND REMAINS ON WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPED FOR VARYING TIMES. SEAT BELTS ARE ALWAYS USED AND IT DOES NOT MATTER IF A PASSENGER IS IN THE CAR OR NOT . LOCAL DEALER UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE. ON GOING SINCE 10/01/2015

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEGAN TO MAKE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LUG NUTS AND THE CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE AT A STOP AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE ABS AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK, RIGHT ARM, AND RIGHT LEG INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER FOR BODY REPAIRS, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE CRASH, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS SHIFTED INTO THE DRIVE POSITION AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 06V417000 (AIR BAGS) AND 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT. BOTH TIMES OCCURRED WHEN I WAS DRIVING UNDER 35 MILES PER HOUR AND HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR LESS THAN FIVE MILES. THE FIRST TIME (FEBRUARY 2016), I STOPPED, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. THE SECOND TIME (APRIL, 2016), I STOPPED, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND TURNED IT BACK ON. THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME BACK ON. I TURNED ON THE IGNITION AND TRIED THE HIGH BEAMS, AND THEY ILLUMINATED. WHEN I ARRIVED AT HOME, I TRIED THE REGULAR LIGHTS AGAIN, BUT THEY STILL FAILED TO WORK. I FOUND A RECALL ONLINE FOR THIS SITUATION FOR THE MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR O F MY CAR (#15V519000), SO I CONTACTED BUICK CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR DID NOT HAVE THIS RECALL ON IT. I BELIEVE THAT THE FACT THAT I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE SAME CAR MODEL, MAKE, AND YEAR SHOULD SHOULD QUALIFY MY CAR FOR THE RECALL FOR THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

BEGINNING TO DRIVE HOME AT NIGHT AND DISCOVERED THAT HEADLAMPS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED. STOPPED CAR TO VERIFY THAT HEADLAMPS WERE NOT WORKING. FOUND THAT HIGH BEAMS WOULD WORK BUT NOT LOW BEAMS. TRIED RESETTING AUTO HEADLAMPS WITHOUT SUCCESS. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITH HIGH BEAMS. ONCE HOME TRIED RESETTING AUTO HEADLAMPS AGAIN - NO SUCCESS. NOT LIKELY THAT BOTH HEADLAMPS WENT OUT AT SAME TIME BUT CHECKED BULBS AND FUSES FOR LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS - ALL GOOD. HAVE SEEN REPORTS THAT HDM FOR 2006 LACROSSE FAILS AND HAS A RECALL BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL ON NHTSA SITE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 05/10/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE MECHANICAL COUPLING BETWEEN THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND HIGH PRESSURE LINE HAD DISINTEGRATED. THERE WAS NO FLEXIBLE FITTING UTILIZING A HOSE ON THE LINE. THE POOR APPLICATION LEFT NO WAY TO ALLOW THE LINE TO ABSORB THE CONSTANT VIBRATION CREATED BY BOLTING THE PUMP TO THE ENGINE AND THE LINE TO THE FRAME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR BRAKE PADS REPLACEMENT; THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT SWAY BAR, WHICH CONNECTED BOTH WHEELS OF THE STEERING, WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE HAD QUITE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH HAVING TO REPLACE BULBS IN THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS OF 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. BUT, FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS WHEN I DRIVE CAR AT NIGHT ALL OF A SUDDEN MY DIM LIGHTS GO OFF AND I CANNOT SEE A THING. TWO TIMES THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED I WAS MEETING ANOTHER CAR. LUCKILY, I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A HEADON COLLISION. THE LIGHTS GO OFF, I HAVE TO SWITCH TO BRIGHT LIGHTS TO DRIVE. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING TO ME AS WELL AS OTHERS. IF I PARK IT FOR AWHILE THEY WILL WORK AGAIN. IT SEEMS TO BE JUST A SHORT WHILE AFTER YOU CRANK CAR AND START DRIVING THAT IT HAPPENS. I HAVE SEEN WHERE THERE ARE RECALLS ON BUICK'S LIGHTING BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL. ONCE I WAS DRIVING ON A FARM TO MARKET HIGHWAY; NEXT TIME, DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IN MOTION BOTH TIMES.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY CAR WORK INTERMITTENTLY. IT HAS BEEN MANY OCCASIONS WHEN WERE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND IN DAYTIME WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT. THE SHIFT LINKAGE TUBE CROSSES OVER THE FUEL LINE AT THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. WHEN SHIFTING OUT OF PARK, THE TUBE MOVES. THE MOVEMENT OF THIS TUBE IS ABRADING THE THE INSULATION ON THIS FUEL LINE.
RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE JANUARY 2015. GM SAFETY RECALL #14291. CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V-755. AS OF NOVEMBER 2015, PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX AFFECTED HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE. HAVE TALKED TO BUICK. THEY HAVE NO TIMEFRAME FOR PARTS BEING AVAILABLE. I HAVE TALKED TO NTSA, THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF THE RECALL. BUICK TOLD ME THEY HAVE A TEMPORARY FIX, BUT ALSO TOLD ME THE HIGH-BEAM LIGHTS WILL WORK, SO I CAN DRIVE WITH THOSE ON. I DON'T THINK THAT IS AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION. MY TWO PRIMARY CONCERNS ARE: (1) BUICK ISSUED A RECAL AND 10 MONTHS LATER CANNOT FIX THE DEFECTIVE PARTS AND HAS NO ESTIMATE FOR WHEN THEY CAN (2) NTSA HAS NO RECORD OF THIS RECALL NOTICE OR THAT THIS VEHICLE NEEDS REPAIRS.
THE REGULAR LIGHTS WIIL GO OUT WHILE DRIVING, DAY OR NIGHT. SOMETIMES THE HEADLIGHTS WILL NOT COME AT ALL OR ONLY ONE SIDE (DRIVER OR PASSENGER SIDE) WILL COME ON. I HAVE TO OFTEN DRIVE AROUND AT NIGHT USING MY HIGH-BEAMS. THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORST, AS THE LIGHTS WILL NOT COME ON FOR DAY. BUICK SERVICE CENTER WANTS TO CHARGE $600 TO REPLACE HEADLIGHTS AND RELAYS, EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR CARS OF THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR.

TWICE NOW, MY HEADLIGHTS WILL NOT ILLUMINATE. THE FIRST TIME IT RECTIFIED ITSELF. THIS TIME IT HAS NOT RECTIFIED. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN I MANUALLY TURNED OFF THE HEADLIGHTS. I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND MANUALLY TURNED THEM BACK ON AND NOTHING HAPPENED. RUNNING LIGHTS AND HIGH BEAMS DO FUNCTION (14V755000) BUT I AM IRRITATING A LOT OF DRIVERS WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON. WHAT CAN I DO UNTIL THIS RECALLED PART IS AVAILABLE? I HAVE TRIED TO GET IT SERVICED AT MY GM DEALER BUT THEY HAVE NO RECALL INFORMATION.
