TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I WENT TO MY MECHANIC. HE WAS ABLE TO GET A TEMP HMD REPLACEMENT PART IN ABOUT 3 DAYS. HE INSTALLED THE TEMP REPLACEMENT PART AND EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DISFUNCTIONING HDM. THAT WAS IN 07/2014.MY BUICK WAS IN THE RECALL FOR THE HDM MALFUNCTION. UPON RECEIVING THE RECALL LETTER, I TOOK MY BUICK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THERE WERE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE AT THAT MOMENT. I SHOULD CHECK BACK OR RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHEN SAID PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE. I EXPLAINED THAT THE PART WAS REPLACED PRIOR TO THE GM RECALL. THE RECALL NOTICE WAS ON 01/2015 FROM GLOBAL VEHICAL SAFETY IN MILWAUKEE, WI. AS FAR AS THE DEALERSHIP, I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM THEM. ON 10/27/2015, I SUBMITTED A REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM FOR OUT OF POCKET PAY ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS STATED ON THAT FORM, TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER 3 MONTHS OF NO RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP, I WENT IN AND TALKED TO THEM DIRECTLY. THEY STATED THAT A PERM REPLACEMENT PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE YET SO MY CLAIM WOULD NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL GM ANNOUCED A PART WAS AVAILABLE AND A SECOND LETTER WAS MAILED TO ME. ANOTHER 2 MONTHS PASSED AND NO CALLS OR LETTERS FROM GM OR THE DEALERSHIP. I WENT IN DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO WAIT FOR AN "OFFICIAL" AUTHORIZATION FROM GM TO START THE CLAIM PROCESS. I FEEL AS IF GM AND THE DEALERSHIP ARE NOT WORKING ON THIS MATTER TO THE FULLEST OR EVEN ANY EFFORT TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION. IT'S FUNNY YET SAD THAT MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE HDM IN ROUGHLY 5 DAY OR SO, WHICH BY THE WAY, IS STILL PERFORMING PERFECTLY FINE. YET THIS MAJOR AUTO COMPANY(GM) CANT RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH THE HDM PART. REALLY?! SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE A CLOSER INTO THIS SITUATION. WE WERE 60 MILES FROM HOME HAVING DINNER. GOT IN THE CAR AFTER DARK TO COME HOME, STARTED IT AND NO HEADLIGHTS. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO COME ON WHETHER BY AUTO OR MANUAL SWITCHING THEM ON. WE HAD HIGH BEAM BUT NO LOW BEAM OR DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE FOR DAILY DRIVING. WE NEED THIS REPAIRED UNDER THE 12-1-2014 RECALL FROM BUICK. *TR

IN EARLY DECEMBER 2014, THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING PERMANENTLY. REPLACING THE HDM MODULE DOES NO RECTIFY THE SITUATION AND THE FUSES AND LAMPS ARE IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING 7 MONTHS WITH HIGH-BEAMS ONLY, WHICH ENDANGERS OTHER DRIVERS AND PUTS ME AT RISK OF HEAD-ON COLLISION. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE INDICATED THEIR CARS HAVE BURNED BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION. I FIRST NOTICED GM'S PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE DEFECT IN DECEMBER, BUT NEARLY 7 MONTHS LATER, THEY HAVE NEITHER NOTIFIED ME NOR ANNOUNCED A WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY DEALERSHIP HAS NO REMEDY TO OFFER. IN ONE WEEK MY STATE INSPECTION EXPIRES. AFTER THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR OR SELL IT.

1.THE DOOR LOCKS WORK INTERMITTENTLY WITH OR WITHOUT THE KEY FOB. THE INTERIOR BUTTON AS WELL AS WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE OR PARK DOES NOT ALWAYS ENGAGE OR UNLOCK. I HAD IT LOOKED AT AND WAS INFORMED IT IS THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS THAT ARE FAULTY AND NEED TO BE REPLACED IN ALL 4 DOORS. 2.THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. THE HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE BURNED A HOLE IN THE ENGINE FUSE BOX. THE HDM IS NOW FUSED INTO THE FUSE BOX AND CAN'T BE PULLED OUT TO REPLACE IT. RECALL 14V-755 WILL REPLACE THE HDM. BUT THE GM SAID I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUSE BOX. THE HDM FAILED AS THE RECALL SAID. *TR

MY WIFE WAS TAKING HER FATHER TO THE HOSPITAL WHEN SHE THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE TO COME ON THEY DID NOT. SHE HAD TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY WITH ONLY HER PARKING LIGHTS ON. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 2013 WE HAD TO REPLACE A RELAY UNDER THE HOOD IN THE FUSE BOX FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS TIME WE TOOK IT INTO OUR LOCAL PARTS SHOP TO REPLACE THE RELAY AND FOUND OUT THAT THE FUSE BOX HAD MELTED TOGETHER AND HAVE HAD IT TOWED TO BE REPAIRED, THIS WAS ON A 2007 BUICK LA CROSS. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE AND I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER AND A SAFETY RECALL STARTED. *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT NIGHT 65 MPH AND MY HEADLIGHTS AUTOMATICALLY WENT OFF. THEY WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. I DROVE WITH HIGH BEAMS UNTIL I COULD GET OFF AN EXIT. SAT THERE AND TRIED TO GET THEM ON...NO LUCK. FINALLY THEY CAME BACK ON AND 15 MINUTES LATER THEY WENT OFF AGAIN. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON FOR 35 MINUTES. TOOK IT IN TO GM CERTIFIED SERVICE DEPT. AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LOW BEAMS. DRIVING HOME FROM SERVICE DEPT, THEY WENT OUT AGAIN !!!!!! WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS?. VERY VERY DANGEROUS AND CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE I AM NOT SURE WHEN THE LIGHTS WILL GO OUT....THUNDERSTORMS, NIGHT TIME, SNOW, ETC....I NEED MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS !!!! I AM CALLING THE SERVICE DEPT. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING MY ICON FOR THE AIRBAGS IS ILLUMINATED ON MY DASH, WHICH I SUPPOSE MEANS THAT MY AIR BAGS ARE NOT ACTIVATED. WHEN I WENT TO ANDY MOHR BUICK IN FISHERS, IN. 46038, I QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT IT. AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING IT, AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO PUT IT ON THE ANALYZER AND FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND THAT COULD COST SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. SO I CALL GM AND THEY PAID FOR IT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE PERSONAL BODY MODULE AND WOULD RUN AROUND $1300. I NEW ABOUT THE KEY RECALL AND THOUGHT THAT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. SO I WAITED UNTIL BUICK FIXED MY KEY PROBLEM, BUT THE AIRBAG DID NOT GO AWAY. THEN THE NEXT (LIGHT RECALL) CAME UP, WHICH IS STILL NOT REMEDIED SO I DO NOT KNOW IF THAT IS NOT A PART OF THE PROBLEM. SINCE, I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM MY ELDERLY NEIGHBOR, SHE SAID THAT SHE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT SEVERAL TIMES TO THE BUICK DEALER, (ANDY MOHR) AND THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING. THEY TOLD HER THAT WHENEVER IT HAPPENS TO BRING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP. WELL, WITH ALL INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS IT IS VERY HARD FOR A PERSON TO GET THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHILE IT IS HAPPENING. AND ALL OF THESE DIAGNOSTIC CHARGES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. AND IF YOU PAY FOR A REPAIR AND THEN THERE IS A RECALL, YOU NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURE. READ SOME OF YOUR COMPLAINTS AND YOU WILL SEE THAT I AM RIGHT, SO THE POOR CONSUMER HAS TO WAIT AND DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE UNTIL THE SLOW WHEELS OF GOVERNMENT FINALLY MAKE THE MANUFACTURE DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM STILL WAITING 8 MONTHS FOR THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING REPAIR. DOES SOME ONE HAVE TO BE KILLED BEFORE WE GET ACTION.

THE CAR WAS DRIVEN ON THE FREEWAY. SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING COMING FROM THE HOOD AREA. TAKE THE NEXT EXIT, SMOKE START COMING OUT OF THE HOOD. STOP THE CAR CHECK THE HOOD AND THE UNDERHOOD FUSE BLOCK WAS BURNING. THE WHOLE FUSE IS DAMAGED SO IS THE ENGINE HARNESS. IT LOOKED LIKE THE HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE AND THE FOG LAMP MICRO-RELAYS WERE THE ONES THAT MELTED FIRST AND CAUSE THE FUSE BOX TO BURN. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY THE FUSE BOX JUST BURNED THAT'S WHY I STARTED LOOKING ONLINE IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SEEMS A FEW PEOPLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I GUESS THERE ARE UNREPORTED CASES AS WELL. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GET HURT BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM THE 2007 BUICK LACROSSE HAS. THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET.
