MY STEERING RACK AND PUMP WENT AT ONLY 26,000 MILES. IF I WAS DRIVING THIS CAR ON THE ROAD AT THE TIME IT WENT I WOULD HAVE HAD AN AWFUL ACCIDENT. YOU COULD NOT STEER THE VEHICLE AT ALL. IT COST ME 2275 FOR THE PART AND 6 HOURS LABOR @750.00. I THINK WITH ONLY 26000MILES THIS SHOULD HAVE NOT HAPPEND.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC CTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S CUE SCREEN, WHICH WAS THE MAIN CONTROL PANEL FOR MANY FUNCTIONS IN THE VEHICLE, SUDDENLY FROZE WITHOUT WARNING. ON OTHER OCCASIONS, THE SCREEN CONTROLS FOR THE DIFFERENT FEATURES WOULD MOVE WITHOUT THE CONTACT'S CONSENT. THE CONTACT CALLED RICHARD KARR MOTORS (LOCATED AT 900 W LOOP 340, WACO, TX 76712, 254-633-2866) AND CADILLAC OF ARLINGTON (LOCATED AT 2001 NORTH COLLINS STREET, ARLINGTON, TX 76011, 817-461-2222) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURES WERE WELL KNOWN; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,978.
THE REAR END DIFFERENTIAL BROKE WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY. WHICH MADE DRIVING THE CAR VERY UNSAFE. I PULLED OVER AND I GOT THE PART REPAIRED BY THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP. I HAVE HAD AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT SEAT HEATER. WHEN WEATHER IS COOLER AND I ACTIVATE THE SEAT HEATER I EXPERIENCED THE SEAT GETTING EXCESSIVELY HOT AND I NEARLY BURN MYSELF. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE HEATER SEAT AND COVER THE SEAT SO I DON'T GET HURT. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE CAUSING ME TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY DURING TO HOW HOT THE SEAT HAD GOT. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE SHIFTER SELECTOR CABLE DETACHED AS I WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON THE STREET (VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION) I WAS DRIVING AND PULLED UP PARK AND NOTICE THE SHIFTER KNOB WAS MOVING BUT THE INDICATOR WAS STUCK IN THE WRONG SELECTION. I HAD TO PUT ON EMERGENCY BREAK AND ORDER A TOW TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR THE CARBWAS IN OR COULD I CHANGE GEARS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD RECALLS FOR THESE ITEMS ON SIMILAR VEHICLES BUT DENIED TO HELP ME BECAUSE THE RECALLS ARE VIN SPECIFIC WHICH I DID NOT KNOW AND MY VIN DIDN'T QUALIFY. I AM LEFT WITH A HUGE CAR REPAIR BILL FOR DEFECTED PARTS SOLD WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC CTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEEL BAR IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT CUT THROUGH THE FOAM MATERIAL AND THE LEATHER, WHICH CUT THE CONTACT'S PANTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ELCO CADILLAC (15110 MANCHESTER RD, BALLWIN, MO 63011, (636) 284-2620) WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALER TOOK PICTURES AND SENT THEM TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE CONTACT NEEDED A NEW DRIVER'S SEAT. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY DID NOT SEE THE PICTURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO ANOTHER DEALER AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO LET THE CONTACT SPEAK TO A MANAGER TO STATE HIS CASE REGARDING THE MATTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING FAILURE OF ALL SUBFRAME BUSHINGS. TO INCLUDE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES TOTALING 4 BUSHING FAILURES. FAILURES PERPETUATE EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS. RESULTS: UNSOLVEABLE MISALIGNMENT, IN EXTREME SITUATIONS ALLOWING MOVEMENT OF THE WHEEL CAMBER +/- APPROXIMATELY 1" AT SPEEDS EXCEEDING 25MPH CAUSING GREAT SAFETY RISK.
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ENGINE STARTED TO HESITATE AND RUN ROUGHLY AND GOT INCREASINGLY WORSE. WHEN PULLED OVER, NOTICED THAT GAS GAUGE WAS GOING DOWN. IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND STEPPED OUT. A MASSIVE PUDDLE OF GASOLINE HAD FORMED AROUND VEHICLE, AND GAS WAS DRIPPING FROM THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE CAR, AND HAD EVEN GOTTEN INTO THE DOOR JAMS AND WAS RUNNING ONTO THE GROUND.
THE TOUCHSCREEN OF THE CUE SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK.
WHEN I TURN THE WHEELS LEFT OR RIGHT EITHER GOING FORWARD OR BACKWARD, THERE IS A HITTING NOISE THAT FEELS LIKE THE FRONT TIRES WILL COME OUT OF THE ACCEL AND THIS HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS ,IT WOULD BE MORE DANGEROUS IF IT IS ON HIGH WAY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC CTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HUB BEARING WAS FAILING BECAUSE THE PARTS IN THE VEHICLE WERE DETERIORATING QUICKLY AFTER INSTALLATION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEN BATCHELOR CADILLAC (11001 W. IH-10, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78230 210-690-0700) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS A DEFAULT WITH THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FAILING PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO SUBMIT THE COMPLAINT IN WRITING FOR ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
COMPLETE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSY FAILURE, AT MY EXPENSE OF 4590.00 GM DID KICK IN 2500.00 BUT EVEN WITH THE REPAIR THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE REPLACEMENT THAT IS CURRENTLY BEING FIXED. A FULL RECALL WITH REPAIR, REIMBURSEMENT OR BUY OUT SHOULD BE DEMANDED, THIS IS A LIFE AND DEATH SAFETY ISSUE.
AXLE HALF SHAFT BOLTS BACKED OUT BREAKING MATING GEARS IN DIFFERENTIAL. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN A VIBRATION THAT FELT LIKE A WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY OUT OF BALANCE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO INSPECT. AFTER SEEING NOTHING I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE AWAY SO IT WAS PUT IN DRIVE AND AS THE BRAKE WAS RELEASED THE GEARS BROKE DISABLING THE VEHICLE NECESSITATING A FLAT BED TOW TO THE DEALER.
This is a continuing concerning issue that I've experienced resulting in a major safety hazard, that intel the RWD differential/drivetrain, which is a common safety concern with the 2014 CTS Sedans. There are no recalls from the persistent complaints and concern about this issue. The wearing down of the pinion seal, causing leaks, that have been repaired several times, which constantly reappears, after months to a year of being repaired at certified Cadillac dealerships. Now the GM/Cadillac dealerships are highly recommending a full differential replacement. Unfortunately, there are no differential parts nationwide to repair the issue. The GM manufactures have either discontinued the part or it's been express the parts are on back order from 3 to 6 months, or even up to a year to receive that particular part, yet there's still no recall on this issue. This safety concern needs to be address ASAP. This can prevent power to RWD, causing an accident at driving speeds, damaging the internal drive train as well. Other motorist, as well as passengers and vehicle operator would be at great risk, if this issue is not resolved. It's also costly and very expensive to repair. I have paid for a tremendous amount of money trying to get this reoccurring and repetitive issue resolved, without a reasonable resolution from GM or and Cadillac dealership to even offer a goodwill repair for this problem.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC CTS EQUIPPED WITH PIRELLI ZERO RUN FLAT TIRES (NA), SIZE: 235/55ZR17 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRE EXPERIENCED BLISTERS ON THE SIDEWALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED AFTER HITTING POTHOLES AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY EIGHT TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
FROZEN FRONT BRAKES AFTER WASHING OR DRIVING IN RAIN AND PARKING OVERNIGHT. HAVE TO PUT CAR IN GEAR AND FORCE FRONT BRAKES TO BREAK LOOSE. REAR WHEELS SPIN AND FRONT TIRES SLID APPROX 1 FOOT BEFORE BREAKING LOOSE. LOUD THUD AND CAR LEAPS FORWARD 1FOOT. *TR
I HAVE A DAMAGED RIGHT DAYTIME RUN LIGHT ON MY 2014 CADILLAC CTS. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE REPLACEMENT PART (PART# 20896556). GM NOW SAYS THERE ARE NON AVAILABLE IN THE SYSTEM AND HAVE PROVIDED NO HELP TO SECURE ONE. THIS PART FITS 2014 THRU 2016 CTS'S. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND CADILLAC DOESN'T SEEM TO THANK IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY OR CARE THAT THEY HAVE CREATED THIS SAFETY HAZARD. MY GM COMPLAINT NUMBER IS 8-2572310479. I WOULD THINK THAT THE NTSB SHOULD BE CONCERNED THAT GM IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
IN THE PAST 2 1/2 YEARS I HAVE 7 TIRES REPLACED. THE SIDE-WALL OF THE TIRES SPLIT AND I BELIEVE THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE DEFECTIVE WHEELS. THESE ARE 18 INCH WHEELS AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE POORLY DESIGNED RESULTING IN THE TIRE SPLITTING. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS SORT OF REOCCURRING PROBLEM IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE
4 TIRES HAVE SPLIT THE SIDE WALL DUE TO IMPACT ON THE ROAD IN THE LAST YEAR, PIRELLI PZERO RUN FLAT P245018, TIRES SEEM DEFECTIVE WITH SIDE WALL SPLITS AFTER MINOR IMPACTS.
DRIVING DOWN FRONTAGE ROAD AT APROX. 30 MPH MY SUNROOF EXPLODED SUDDENLY AND BEGAN TO FALL INTO THE CAR. NO EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING STRIKING THE SUNROOF AND TEMP. NOT AN ISSUE. CAR WAS IN MOTION AND DRIVING STRAIGHT FORWARD ON ROAD.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FOUR FLAT TIRES DUE TO LOW PROFILE WHEELS.*SMD THE CONSUMER BELIEVED IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM, CADILLAC NEEDS TO REPLACE THE 19 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES WITH 18 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES THAT CAME EQUIPPED ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS NEVER INFORMED THE 19 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES WOULD BE SO EASILY DAMAGED, JUST BY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. *JB

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE RIGHT FRONT TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE DROPPED TO ZERO WHILE DRIVING AND IT SHOWED THE TIRE NEEDED AIR. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED ACCORDING TO THE WINDOW STICKER, THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH ALL SEASON RUN FLAT TIRES ALONG WITH A TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM . AFTER TAKING DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE, SHE LEARNED THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH LOW- PROFILE TIRE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED A WARNING SHOULD BE PROVIDED WHEN PURCHASING A VEHICLE WITH LOW-PROFILE TIRES, SINCE BUYERS DON'T HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE MANUAL PRIOR TO PURCHASE.*JB
2 STARTERS FAILED WITHIN 17,500 MILES. SECOND STARTER FAILED WITHIN 1,000 MILES. 10/18/2015 CAR PARKED IN PARKING LOT. WOULD NOT START. TOWED TO DEALER - DIAGNOSED AS STARTER (MILEAGE 16,264). 11/20/2015 CAR PARKED IN GAS STATION. WOULD NOT START. TOWED TO DEALER - DIAGNOSED WITH SAME PROBLEM AS 10/19/2015 - STARTER ISSUE (MILEAGE 17,243).
ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND MISFIRE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 CADILLAC CTS. WHILE DRIVING 21 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP WHEN IT CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE CONTACT, CAUSING HIS HEAD TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE DASHBOARD. AFTER THE CRASH, ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, NECK, AND KNEES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC CTS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STABILIZER CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AS A MESSAGE DISPLAYED 'REDUCE ENGINE CAPACITY'. THERE WAS A REDUCTION IN THE ENGINE POWER AND THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
TURNED CAR ON AFTER PARKING AT A LOT. REVERSED TO EXIT AND THEN SUDDENLY, A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON STATING "POWER STEERING. DRIVE CAREFULLY". POWER STEERING WENT OFF ENTIRELY. IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. COULD BARELY GET CAR BACK INTO PARKING SPOT. TURNED ENGINE OFF TWICE BUT THE STEERING DID NOT CORRECT SELF. AFTER ENGINE WAS OFF FOR 10MINUTES WAITING FOR TOW TRUCK, THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK ON.
7/15 OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION (AFTER ROTATION, CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT) MENTIONED MOLD/MILDEW SMELL AND IN TAKE PERSONNEL SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO ADDRESS BOTH ROTATION AND AC SMELL FOR 7/27 7/27 - 8/7 RE-WORKED THE ROTATION PROBLEM ADDRESSED THE AC SMELL ISSUESAID IT WOULD TAKE A FEW WEEKS TO GET THE SMELL OUT (IT DID NOT) 8/25 -8/27 ADDRESSED AC SMELL ISSUE AGAIN AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS FIXED (IT WAS NOT) 9/3 - 9/16 CAR STILL HAD AC MOLD SMELL PRESENT REPLACED EVAPORATOR CORE AND SAID CAR WAS SMELL FREE IT WAS NOT! IT EMITTED ODOR THE DAY THAT I DROVE IT OUT OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. 9/21, CALLED SENIOR ADVISOR, ON LINE AND I REQUESTED FIRST SENIOR ADVISOR HANDLING MY CASE CALL ME BACK BY THE END OF THIS WEEK WITH A RESOLUTION TO THE ON-GOING MOLD PROBLEM. THIS ADVISOR STILL ASKED THAT I CALL BACK IF INITIAL ADVISOR IF SHE DOES NOT GET BACK WITH ME. TOLD HER THAT WAS UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM NOW RESTS WITH GM CADILLAC DIVISION. EMPHASIZED MEDICAL REASONS FOR BREATHING IN MOLD/MILDEW FROM THE SYSTEM WHICH COULD LEAD TO DIRE CONSEQUENCES TO ME, PERSONALLY, AS WELL AS OTHERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ODOR. 9/23 CALLED CORPORATE RATHER THAN CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AND SPOKE TO A PERSON WHO SUPPOSEDLY WAS ABOVE THE LEVEL OF SENIOR ADVISOR. . SHE SAID THAT GM HAS A PROTOCOL THAT WAS BEING FOLLOWED BY THE SENIOR ADVISOR HANDLING MY CASE AND SHE WOULD GET BACK WITH ME AND FOLLOW THE GM PROTOCOL WHICH HAS NOT BEEN EXPLAINED TO ME AND I CANT FIND THEIR PROTOCOL ON LINE. I HAVE ASKED FOR A FULL GM VEHICLE REFUND BECAUSE THEY CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT GM KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND ARE CHOOSING "BANDAID" METHODS THAT DO NOT RESOLVE THE MOLD/MILDEW PROBLEM THUS ENDANGERING THE WELL BEING OF THEIR COMPANY'S VEHICLE OWNERS. NOT RIGHT ON MANY LEVELS!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC CTS. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED DOWNWARD WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION THE WINDSHIELD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE STRUTS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE WINDSHIELD. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALER THAT I LEASED THE CAR FROM THAT THERE IS A TERRIBLE GLARE AND REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE INTERIOR IS A NEW LIGHT COLOR AND THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH REFLECTIONS OF THE CUTOUTS AND VENTS THAT MIRRORS THE WHOLE TOP OF DASH ON WINDSHIELD. WHEN SUN SHINES THERE IS SUCH A DISTRACTION THAT YOUR EYES ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE CLEARLY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WITHOUT BEING DISTRACTED. IF A PERSON OR CHILD DARTED IN FRONT OF THE CAR WHEN I AM DISTRACTED BY A REFLECTION OF ALL THE DESIGNS AND CUTOUTS, IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM CADILLAC. RETURNED HOME IN DRIVEWAY SHUT OFF CAR AND THE DRIVER SEAT AUTOMATICALLY MOVES AS FAR BACK AS THE TRACK WILL ALLOW WELL MY GRAND DAUGHTER WAS IN HER CAR SEAT IN THE REAR BEHIND ME, THE DRIVER AND THE SEAT CRUSHED HER FOOT AND BENT HER FOOT BACK WARDS . UPON RETURNING TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP, THE SALES ASSOCIATES PULLED THE CAR BACK ONTO THE SALES LOT, MOVED OTHER NEW CARS OUT OF THE WAY, AND PARKED THE CAR AMONGST OTHER NEW VEHICLES FOR SALE.
