The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that upon approaching the parked vehicle, he discovered that all the air bags had deployed without impact. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the air bag deployment. The contact then discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags). The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

The contact stated that several appointments were scheduled with the dealer and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair; however, after the vehicle had remained at the dealer for a long period of time, the contact was informed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The airbag system failed and was reported the first time in 2020 and it was available for inspection upon request by owner but Cadillac said it wasn't a recall and refused to comply. My safety and the other passenger was put at risk because Cadillac didn't inspect the the fail system upon the owner's upon the owner's first request that caused serious injuries and the vehicle has been in another incident. The airbag system has not been fixed, body, and light damages to be reproducted or confirmes by a dealer or independent service center for my case 9-7027849113. The vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representative, or others. There wasn't any warning lamps, or other symptoms prior to the failure and they first appeared in the last incident on April 23, 2021.

The vehicle suffered damage to the front end, the hood. Additionally the transmission pan was cracked. The contact stated the airbags did not deploy. The contact had the vehicle towed to a collision repair shop. The contact stated after the repairs the check airbag light would blink and later remained illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that both airbags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure.
