I started the car and noticed a smell. Then my red battery light came on and a notification that my battery was not charging. I drove less than a mile and noticed smoke under my hood. I pulled over to a safe place and opened the hood to see flames around my alternator.
My engine has low oil pressure which causes it to stop running.

Everytime I drive on the highway and come to a roll the engine stalls. I have been stuck on the middle lane of the highway, in the middle of intersections, and many other places that are less than ideal. It is a crankshaft position sensor from what I can tell. When the car is under a load, the sensor is positioned at an extreme angle and when the rpms get low the rpms fluctuates and it stalls. The extreme angle is an optimization that cadillac made in an effort to get better fuel economy. It appears that the only way to fix the issue is to get a tune that prevents the sensor from reaching that extreme angle. The dealer pretends to know nothing, yet I find many other people who experience the issue so it would be in their database as a known issue. There are no warnings lights that comes on. The car will just shut down. The only way to prevent the car stalling is to drop to neutral and rev the engine while coming to a stop. Keep reving and when the light goes green drop it to Drive. Its unacceptable and a risk not only to myself but others on the road. I will file a defect petition with a lawyer so this is paid attention to . Please help.
Camshaft and bearings break affects oil pressure with no indication until it is to late and you have to replace the motor
ABNORMALLY HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION: EVEN AFTER COMPLETING THE VALVE COVER REPLACEMENT AS RECOMMENDED IN THE GM TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10-06-01-008M, THE HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION CONTINUES TO OCCUR. FROM FULL OIL LEVEL COMPLETED AT THE DEALERSHJP SERVICE CENTER TO THE POINT THAT THE COMPUTER SCREEN INDICATES "LOW OIL LEVEL", THE CAR HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 1,000 MILES (VERIFIED BY GM SERVICE CENTER). AS AN SIDE, THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN ABOUT 5,000 MILES PER YEAR AND IS SERVICED AND CARED FOR RELIGIOUSLY. THIS ISSUE WAS INITIALLY NOTICED IN 2012 AS WAS THOUGHT TO BE A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE MAKE/MODEL. ONLY AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH INTO SIMILAR INSTANCES WITH THE SAME MAKE/MODEL AS REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS, DID THIS BECOME A LARGER ISSUE. IT WAS THEN REPORTED TO GM RESULTING IN A CASE NUMBER BEING CREATED. THE NEXT MAINTENANCE STEP AS RECOMMENDED BY GM SERVICE CENTER IS TO REPLACE PISTONS AND RINGS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A LOUD TICKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT EXHAUST FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE MANIFOLDS DUE TO FRACTURES IN THE BOLTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
VEHICLE STALLED OUT IN VERY HEAVY TRAFFIC IN BOTH MARYLAND, AND INDIANA WHILE I WAS ON VACATION. THIS OCCURRED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN BOTH OCCASIONS THAT WAS PACKED WITH TRAFFIC.THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN HARMFUL TO BOTH ME AND MY FAMILY. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 2 OCCASIONS ,JULY 16TH 2016 AND JULY 22ND 2016.DEALERSHIP AT FIRST COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AS WAS THE CASE WITH THE FIRST CADILLAC DEALERSHIP IN BETHESDA MARYLAND. THE 2ND DEALERSHIP TOOK A WEEK TO CREATE, IDENTIFY, AND HOPEFULLY REPAIR THE PROBLEM. REPLACING FUEL PUMP ENDED UP BEING THE CALL. 1005.00 DOLLARS LATER I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS INDEED IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS IT DOES NOT SHOW ANY WARNINGS IT JUST STALLED OUT.

MY VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE GAS NEEDLE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH. WHEN THE NEEDLE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH FROM FULL TO EMPTY THE ENGINE LIGHT IN THE DASH WILL COME ON AND MAY STAY ON FOR AWHILE BUT WILL THEN GO OFF. NOTICED EXCESSIVE EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE CAR WHILE AT IDLE DURING STOPS. ALL WINDOWS UP DURING WINTER SEASON DRIVING. INSPECTED EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR LEAKS. NOTICED EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ON BOTH SIDES OF ENGINE MISSING AND SUBSEQUENT LEAKS AT EACH EXHAUST PORT WITH MISSING BOLTS. NOTICED EXCESSIVE RUSTING AND CORROSION OF EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND BOLTS. THIS SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY A METAL DEFECT CREATING PREMATURE CORROSION OF EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND BOLTS. INTERN, CAUSING EXHAUST LEAKS AND EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF EXHAUST GASES UNDER HOOD AN IN THE CABIN.
