The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that after plugging the electric air pump into the cigarette lighter socket, smoke was suddenly present coming from the lighter socket and the engine compartment. After opening the engine hood a small flame, smoke, and burning was present coming from the dashboard wire harness. The contact was able to extinguish the flame. The fire department was called to the home but did not visit after the flame was extinguished. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 180,000.
My family and I were leaving home to on vacation last year, when the vehicle suddenly cut off in traffic and refused to start. After getting the vehicle to my home which was 50 miles away. I just told the driver to park it on the street until I got back home, which was seven days later. After arriving back home, vehicle was towed to shop, at which time, NO One could find anything wrong with my 2007 Escalade. So, after driving it for several minutes, the vehicle cut-off again and would not start, soc I phoned my wife, who came with my Expediton and towed me home. After several attempts to start the vehicle, I was informed by a passersby that he had the same problem, that his fuel pump had went out. Well, guess what, it was the fuel pump. So, why is it that certified mechanics at a Cadillac Dearlership couldn't diagnose this problem. It's unfuckinbeliveable that any Dearlership, Pepboys or any other Auto Repair Shop wouldn't explore all options before saying " We can't find nothing wrong" totally inexcusable..
Loss of all electical power to vehicle as though battery failure. Dashboard goes out at times and I am unable to see how fast I am going or if the car is even in drive. Service Stabilitrack light comes on, but goes away. While driving my car door locks. They would lock, unlock. DVD/Nav and Radio shuts off.Air bag light comes on. Driver seat was not working , took it to a mechanic and it read bad motor for seat. About a week ago, the seat started to work again, which worried me. Our mechanic was also worried because he believes it’s an electrical problems which may be very dangerous on the road. The smell of a plastic like fume lingers sometimes.

The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and disconnected the battery from the vehicle and opened the dashboard and saw wiring in the harness of the dashboard melting. The contact put water on the dashboard to stop the smoke. The contact had someone help push their vehicle to their residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
THE AIR BAG ISSUE NOT BEING REPAIRED HAS CAUSED ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT HAS CAUSE THE LOCKS TO GO UP AND DOWN, THE RADIO TO QUIT AND NOT COME ON, ALL ELECTRONICS IN DASH TO STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING AND I RAN OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE I HAD NO CONTROL. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC THAT WAS ABLE TO LET ME DRIVE IT AND NOT THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARE BACK. IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS TURNING ON A BYPASS AND I ALMOST GOT HIT. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. IT DID NOT SHOW ANY CODES TO THE MECHANIC AND IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING TO ME YESTERDAY. THIS VEHICLE WILL GET ME KILLED IF IT IS NOT REPAIRED. *TR
FAULTY BEARINGS ON CAMSHAFT FAILING CAUSING INADEQUATE OIL PRESSURE RESULTING IN "LIMP MODE", SUBSEQUENTLY LEADING TO ENGINE FAILURE AND ILLUMINATION OF STABILITRAK, ABS AND PARKING ASSIST ICONS. "LIMP MODE" CUTS ENGINE OFF AND DRIVER LOSES ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, 1 FATALITY AND 3 INJURIES HAVE RESULTED BECAUSE OF THIS.
TAKATA RECALL- I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THIS REMEDIED AND WAS TOLD GM DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS? I HAVE ALREADY HAD MY BMW 3 SERIES AND CHRYSLER 200 AIRBAGS FIXED SO WHY IS GM HAVING ISSUES WITH REPLACING THEM? THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ALSO HAS ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF CORROSION AT ALL THE SYSTEM CONNECTIONS, I SAW THERE HAS BEEN A TECHNICAL BULLETIN POSTED FOR THIS, SO WHAT HAS GM DONE TO FIX THIS ISSUE ALSO? I JUST BOUGHT THE CADILLAC AND THE AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT WAS ON AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO THIS RECALL NOT GETTING DONE.
2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE PROBLEMS FIRST REPORTED TO CADILLAC AT 86,453 MILES. ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. CAR SHUTS OFF AT INTERSECTION UNEXPECTEDLY, I HACE TO RAISE HOOD AND SHAKE BATTERY CABLES TO GET TO RESTART. UPON TURNING OFF CAR, NO POWER TO IGNITION, NO INTERIOR LIGHTS, NO POWER AT ALL. I HAVE TO RAISE HOOD AND SHAKE CABLES AGAIN. I'VE REPLACED BATTERY TWICE, BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE CABLES, FUSES, GROUNDING STRAPS, CLEANED TERMINALS AT GROUNDS ETC. NO RELIEF FROM PROBLEM. AT HWY SPEEDS CAUSES TRANSMISSION TO UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFT, CYCLES DOOR LOCKS UP AND DOWN, GAUGES GO BLANK OR START CYCLING ON & OFF. AC SYSTEM TURNS ON HEAT UNEXPECTEDLY. SERVICE STABILITRAK & ABS LIGHT COMES ON. RADIO TURNS OFF AND RESETS TO JAN 1 2005 12:00AM, DVD/CD PLAYER STAYS ON AND CYCLES AFTER CAR IS SHUT OFF. DEALER CAN NOT FIND ISSUE. AFTER DRIVING THE TRUCK FROM WORK ONE DAY, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH STARTS FLICKERING, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER, NO ACCELERATION AND SPEED GAUGE DROP COMPLETELY. I HAD NO IDEA OF THE SPEED THAT I WAS DRIVING PLUS THE DOORS STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE WITH GM PRODUCTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (MARK CHRISTOPHER AUTO CENTER, LOCATED AT EAST CONVENTION CENTER WAY, ONTARIO, CA 91764, 909-390-2920) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
I BEEN FIGHTING THIS P0011 CODE FOR OVER A YEAR. I'VE REPLACED THE WHOLE ENGINE, SENSORS, ECM, AND OTHER THINGS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS CODE CAN BE ANYTHING. DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE FOR 100 THINGS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH 1 CODE. I'VE OWNED MANY VEHICLES AND I HONESTLY NEVER EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. COSTED ME OVER 10K IN DIAGNOSTICS, PARTS, AND LABOR. I'M NOT THE ONLY 1 WITH THIS PROBLEM. VERY UNFAIR. CADILLAC SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS ENGINE DESIGN HAS TOO MANY FLAWS!
I HAVE CONTACTED CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING MY STEERING WHEEL SMOKING AND BURNING A HOLE IN THE LEATHER WHEN I USE THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL FEATURE. THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT IT IS THE RESULT OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR WHICH I FIND ABSURD. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE STATED TO ME THAT IN THE 10 YEARS HE'S BEEN WORKING ON GM CARS, HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. ALSO, THE DEALER CHARGED ME TO REPLACE ALL FOUR INTERNAL DOOR HANDLES AFTER THE METAL DEGRADED AND STARTED CUTTING OUR HANDS. APPARENTLY, OTHER ESCALADES WERE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT NOT MY VIN. I THINK BOTH SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM GIVEN THE SERIOUS NATURE OF BOTH DEFECTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS COMPLETELY MELTED, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. AS A RESULT, THE BATTERY, CIRCUIT BREAKER, AND WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.

HEATED FRONT SEATS NOT WORKING. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS, IS THAT THE CONNECTOR THAT ATTACHES TO THE CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT MODULE (CCSM) (WHICH IS LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT), OVERHEATS TO THE POINT THAT THE CONNECTOR HAS MELTED. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND CADILLAC SHOULD LOOK INTO FIXING IT.
