TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH THROUGH A TRAFFIC LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE MEDIAN. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE ANKLE, BACK, AND NECK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TOWED TO CADILLAC OF FAYETTEVILLE (1637 SKIBO RD, FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28303 (910) 864-8599) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V383000 (AIR BAGS). GOT THE RECALL MAY 2016, CADILLAC STILL NOT FIXED, NO AIRBAGS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPLACEMENT.
AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET IT FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY CONTINUE TO TELL US THAT THERE IS NO FIX. WE CAN NOT SELL THE VEHICLE AS THEIR IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON IT CURRENTLY AND WE CAN NOT DRIVE IT AS IT DOESN'T FEEL SAFE.

TAKETA RECALL MY CAR IS LISTED AS PART OF THE TAKETA RECALL AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED A SOLUTION FOR THE ISSUE FOR MY VEHICLE. I LIVE IN A HIGH HUMIDITY AREA IN FLORIDA AND HAVE HIGH CONCERN THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAGS IN MY CAR. THE MANUFACTURERS LACK OF ACTION IS PUTTING MY FAMILY AT RISK.

I HAVE CONTACTED CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING MY STEERING WHEEL SMOKING AND BURNING A HOLE IN THE LEATHER WHEN I USE THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL FEATURE. THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT IT IS THE RESULT OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR WHICH I FIND ABSURD. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE STATED TO ME THAT IN THE 10 YEARS HE'S BEEN WORKING ON GM CARS, HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. ALSO, THE DEALER CHARGED ME TO REPLACE ALL FOUR INTERNAL DOOR HANDLES AFTER THE METAL DEGRADED AND STARTED CUTTING OUR HANDS. APPARENTLY, OTHER ESCALADES WERE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT NOT MY VIN. I THINK BOTH SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM GIVEN THE SERIOUS NATURE OF BOTH DEFECTS.
TAKATA AIRBAGS, WAITING FOR YEARS NOW TO GET REPLACE. WILL NOT HELP ME SOLVE THIS ISSUE. CALLED 4 TIMES ABOUT REPLACEMENT PARTS AND TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM.
WAITING TO GET AIRBAGS TO GET PART TO FIX SINCE 2007 AND NO HELP TO SOLVE ISSUE SINCE MAY 2016, WHEN IT WAS RECALLED AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A DISCOUNT TO GET A DIFFERENT SUV OR FIX THE AIR BAG.
DEALER HAS YET TO RESOLVE THE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS FOR MY MODEL. THERE HAS BEEN PENTLY OF TIME RESOLVE AND REPLACEMENTS HAVE BEEN PENDING FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN MAIL STATING MY AIR BAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED PLS TAKE IN FOR REPAIR OR CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH I SPOKE WITH MY NEAREST CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT TO REPAIR MY TRUCK. I HAVE CHILDREN AND DON'T WANT ANYTHING HORRIBLE TO HAPPEN WITH A DEFAULT ITEM. *TR
AIR BAGS RECALLED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND STILL NOT FIXED.
CRACKED DASH- DRIVER'S SIDE, COMPLETELY CRACKED AND SEPARATED, FROM STEERING WHEEL SIDE TO WINDSHIELD. THE DASH CRACKED IN SECOND PLACE A FEW DAYS AGO, ALONG SIDE OF THE MAIN CRACK. VERY FLIMSY MATERIAL AND CREATES A NOISE WHEN DRIVING. THE DASH HAS STARTED TO LIFT AND SEPARATE AT THE LARGER CRACK AND THIS IS CAUSING A GLARE IN THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THE SUN IS OUT WHILE DRIVING(VERY DANGEROUS!). THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE OF THE GLARE AND THE POTENTIAL OF BROKEN DASH FRAGMENTS THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR EVEN A FATALITY IF THE AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED. THIS IS A POOR DESIGN THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES AND EVEN DEATH!
ESCALADE HAVING SAME ISSUES AS EVERYONE ELSE. OIL PRESSURE DUE TO POOR BUILD AND CUT BACKS ON GENERAL MOTORS BEHALF. A UNIT WITH A PRICE UP WORDS OF $70-$80K SHOULD NOT HAVE THE ISSUES. WE AS THE CUSTOMERS AND THE VICTIMS SHOULD NOT PAY THE PRICE AND OUR OWN LIVES (FAMILIES LIVES) FOR A COMPANIES SELFISHNESS. PASSENGER SEAT CONTROL MODULE BURNT DUE TO YET ANOTHER FAULTY GM PRODUCT. THEY SEAM TO NOT CARE AND WANT TO FIX THE ISSUES THAT CAN AGAIN LEAD TO HARM TO ANYONE IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. I STILL OWN THIS VEHICLE BUT IT HAS BEEN A UTTER DISGRACE OF WHAT KIND OF PRODUCTS WE HAVE BEEN SOLD. SHAME HOW GM HAS LET A COMPANY LIKE TOYOTA WHO ACTUALLY LISTENS TO THE COSTUMES SEEM LIKE A MORE PATRIOTIC COMPANY AND KEEPS THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFE ON THE ROADS. AT CRUISING SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WILL DISPLAY SERVICE STABILITRACK,TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL, AND REDUCING ENGINE POWER. NOT ALLOWING YOU TO GO FASTER THE 15 MPH. THIS HAPPENS ON ANY ROAD WAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS COMPLETELY MELTED, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. AS A RESULT, THE BATTERY, CIRCUIT BREAKER, AND WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
THE STATE OF MICHIGAN HAS MANDATED THAT ALL LIMOUSINES AND LIMOUSINE BUSES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE REAR DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM DISABLED AND THE DOOR KNOBS REMOVED; AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO ELECTRONICALLY LOCK THE DOORS WHILE IN MOTION OR AT REST! THIS MANDATE SEEMS TO BE A STATE OF MICHIGAN REQUIREMENT ONLY. TAKARA RECALL: IN 2015 MY CADILLAC ESCALADE WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND EXPLODED WITH A BUNCH OF SMOKE AND AWFUL SMELL IN THE AIR AND SOME DEBRIS. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN HIT A MIDSIZE HONDA ACCORD HEAD ON. I WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET. I WAS FAULTED SINCE I WAS REACHING FOR MY GPS NAVIGATION DEVICE THAT HAD FALLEN ON THE FLOOR. THE CAUSE FOR THE MALFUNCTION TO ME IS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STABILITRAC LIGHT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON BOTH ENDS AND THE STABILITY CONTROL HAS GONE OUT TWICE.
AFTER DRIVING THE CAR ON HIGHWAY WITH NO ISSUES CAR WILL STALL OUT APPROACHING LIGHTS,STOP SIGNS OR SLOWING DOWN OR LETTING OFF GAS PEDAL.HAS HAPPENED 8-9 TIMES IN LAST WEEK. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR IDLING ISSUES THAT WOULD WARN US OF THE ISSUE. CHANGED BATTERY,CRANKSHAFT SENSOR ,CLEANED THROTTLE BODY, FUEL FILTER ,AND CHANGED OIL. NO CODES SHOW UP ON MECHANICS DIAGNOSTIC METER.I HAVE TAKEN TO ONLINE CADILLAC FORUMS AND LEARNED THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM.VERY UNSETTLING WITH WIFE AND 4 CHILDREN IN VEHICLE. *TR
HEATED SEATS NOT WORKING. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND OUT THAT ESCALADE'S ARE PRONE TO MELTED WIRE CONNECTIONS ON THE CCSM UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT. MINE HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED BY MANY OTHER ESCALADE OWNER'S. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED? THIS COULD POSE A VERY SERIOUS INTERIOR FIRE RISK. *TR
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, WHEN MY DASH WARNING SIGN BEGAN TO READ "LOW OIL PRESSURE- SHUT OFF ENGINE" AND BEGAN BEEPING INCESSANTLY. HEATED STEERING WHEEL BURNED A WHOLE THROUGH LEATHER AND CAUSED A BURN ON MY FINGER. FOUND MELTED/BURNED CONNECTOR UNDER PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WHERE THE HEATED SEAT MODULE IS LOCATED.

HEATED FRONT SEATS NOT WORKING. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS, IS THAT THE CONNECTOR THAT ATTACHES TO THE CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT MODULE (CCSM) (WHICH IS LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT), OVERHEATS TO THE POINT THAT THE CONNECTOR HAS MELTED. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND CADILLAC SHOULD LOOK INTO FIXING IT. FROM ALL THE POSTS ON THIS SUBJECT IN THE CADILLAC OWNER'S FORUMS THERE ARE ALOT OF OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND CONCERNS. *TR
MY VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE GAS NEEDLE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH. WHEN THE NEEDLE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH FROM FULL TO EMPTY THE ENGINE LIGHT IN THE DASH WILL COME ON AND MAY STAY ON FOR AWHILE BUT WILL THEN GO OFF. WHEN I PUT FUEL IN THE TANK THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF BUT ONCE I START DRIVING AGAIN IT COMES BACK ON AND THE NEEDLE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH.
