TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVERS FRONT, REAR, AND PASSENGER REAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BECAME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE HANDLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,795.
DRIVER STOPPED VEHICLE PREPARING TO PARK, PLACED IT IN "PARK" AND PROCEEDED TO TURN IGNITION INTO "OFF" POSITION. THE KEY WAS FIRMLY LOCKED IN THE "RUN" POSITION AND WOULD NOT TURN TO "OFF" OR ANY OTHER POSITION. AFTER TRYING TO TURN KEY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, DRIVER CALLED GM/SEWELL - CADILLAC SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR INSTRUCTION TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY SOLUTIONS THAT WORKED OVER THE PHONE. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE SHUT OFF AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. AFTER THE INITIAL INCIDENT THERE WERE A NUMBER OF OTHER INCIDENTS INCLUDING KEY HARD TO TURN IN IGNITION, NUMEROUS OCCASIONS OF POWER LOSS THROUGHOUT SYSTEMS IN VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN THE SEWELL CADILLAC MANY TIMES FOR THESE SAFETY ISSUES. A NUMBER OF CALLS HAVE BEEN MADE TO GM ALSO ABOUT THE VEHICLE AND ITS DEFECTIVE NATURE. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE IGNITION RECALLED VEHICLES.
WE WERE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AFTER THE SUV WAS PARKED FOR OVER AN HOUR. WHEN I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. SMOKE STARTED POURING IN SIDE THE CAR ON THE DRIVER SIDE FROM UNDER THE DASH BOARD. WE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND CALLED 911. OPENED THE HOOD AND 3FT FLAMES SHOT OUT, THE ALARM WENT OFF AS SMOKE AND FLAMES FILLED THE AIR. A LADY IN A HOME NEARBY RAN OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO ASSIST. FIRE AND POLICE CAME, REPORT WAS FILED. MY LUNGS BURNED FOR WEEKS AFTER AND I HAD A CHRONIC COUGH. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER FOUND IT TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT BUT GM REFUSED TO WORK WITH US ON COSTS. WE HAD TO PAY FULL PRICE OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH BBB, GM, AND MANY OTHERS BUT GOT NO ASSISTANCE. I ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THIS SUV AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 100,000 MILES WHICH THE SHOP SAID IT WAS UNUSUAL BUT FOR A TRANSMISSION TO FAIL AT THIS LOW OF MILES BUT IN THESE TRANSMISSIONS IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF FAILING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN DOING 65 AND LOCKED UP. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN ISSUES WITH THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WHICH MANY PEOPLE HAVE ALSO REPORTED, DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD WHICH GM REFUSED TO REPLACE. THE FILM OVER THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE WHICH CAUSED BLURRY VISION IN THE DRIVERS LINE OF VIEW. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD. GM HAS NOT BACKED ANY OF THE ISSUES WITH THIS SUV. IT HAS BEEN A LEMON SINCE DAY ONE. I HAVE ALL RECEIPTS FOR REPAIRS. *TR
WE JUST WANTED TO ALERT YOU OF A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION THAT OCCURRED WITH OUR 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV, ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 17, 2013. I HAD JUST PICKED UP MY KIDS FROM SWIM PRACTICE AND WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED FROM THE WHEELS AND HAD NO ABILITY TO STEER THE CAR... IT JUST FREELY SPUN AROUND AND AROUND. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE HITTING A TREE AND MY KIDS AND I WERE NOT INJURED, JUST VERY SHAKEN. HOWEVER, IT WAS AND STILL IS VERY PRESENT IN MY MIND WHAT THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN HAD WE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR GOING AT A FASTER SPEED. CADILLAC ROADSIDE WAS VERY HELPFUL IN GETTING THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND HAVE HAD ALL MAINTENANCE DONE IN THE PAST. AFTER REVIEW OF THE VEHICLE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE REALLY NOT SURE WHAT WENT WRONG, AS THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. APPARENTLY THE WHOLE FRONT STEERING SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO COLLAPSE IN A HEAD ON COLLISION, BUT FOR SOME REASON IT COLLAPSED WITHOUT WARNING OR REASON. CONSEQUENTLY, DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL CONTINUOUSLY SPINNING, IT HAD RIPPED OUT ALL THE POWER CORDS TO THE RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING, POWER STEERING, STABILITRAC, ETC. THE CAR WAS A DISASTER AND AT THAT POINT I HAD NO TRUST IN THE CAR TO EVER DRIVE IT AGAIN. I HAD ENJOYED MY VEHICLE UP TO THIS POINT, BUT THIS HAS MADE ME INCREDIBLY CONCERNED ABOUT PUTTING MY FAMILY IN ANOTHER CADILLAC VEHICLE. *TR
VEHICLE WIRING HARNESS ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION WIRELOOM HAS DRY ROTTED CAUSING HARNESS TO DISLODGE FROM RETAINER CLIP CAUSING HARNESS TO DROP ONTO FRONT DRIVESHAFT CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE IN HIWAY TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE VEHICLE SLOWING DOWN. NOTICED OTHER PART OF WIRE HARNESS LOOK FAILING AND OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE INCLUDING SEAT HEATER HARNESS CONNECTOR TO MELT, HARNESS BREAKING APART IN FROM DOOR JAMBS. HARNESS ALSO COMING APART IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND BARE WIRES EITHER TOUCHING SHARP OR HOT OBJECTS AND POSSIBLE FUTURE PROBLEMS TO COME.
I PURCHASED A 2007 ESCALADE AND HAVE HAD IT FOR JUST ABOUT 1 YEAR. SO FAR I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD, HUBS, EVAP SENSOR, PURGE VALVE, FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, TRANSMISSION, DEFECTIVE RIMS, PLUS THE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEMS....BRAKES, ROTORS, BATTERY. ALL OF WHICH HAPPENED TO GO RIGHT AROUND 90,000 TO 100,000 MILES. I CONTACTED CADILLAC TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES AND COMPENSATE SOME COSTS AS THIS SUV HAS ALWAYS BEEN REGULARLY MAINTAINED WITH THE BEST PRODUCTS AVAILABLE INCLUDING SYNTHETIC OILS. THEY REFUSED TO WORK WITH ME.... WELL TODAY THE ICING ON THE CAKE. MY GRANDFATHER PASSED AWAY THIS WEEK, WHILE MOVING HIS PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND HAVING A FULL TRUCK LOAD OF THEM THE TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE. SMOKE BEGAN TO POUR IN FROM THE DASH BY THE WINDSHIELD THE UNDER THE DASH. I OPENED THE HOOD AND FLAMES SHOT OUT BURNING MY HAND. THE POLICE & FD CAME. THANK GOD FOR THE FAMILY IN THE HOME NEAR BY WHO RAN OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I HAD TO PAY FOR A TOW FROM MAINE TO NH. I WAS OUT OF STATE, THE DEALER IS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY. FIND A VEHICLE TO USE TO GO TO NY WHERE THE FUNERAL SERVICE ARE BEING HELD. THIS VEHICLE IS UNDEPENDABLE, UNRELIABLE, JUNK THAT IS UNSAFE. NOT ONLY IS IT BECAUSE THIS ONE IS A LEMON BUT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BACK THE PRODUCT. GM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PUBLICS SAFETY. THEY DON'T CARE IF FOLKS GET INJURED OR KILLED. MANY OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD ARE SAFETY ISSUES BUT GM DOSE NOT FIND THEM TO BE. IF A TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP WHEN YOU ARE DOING 65 ON A HIGHWAY AND DROPS TO 20 I THINK THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MULTIPLE MECHANICS. IF YOUR WINDSHIELD IS DEFECTIVE DUE TO THE PLASTIC AND GLASS SEPARATING AND YOU CAN'T SEE TO DRIVE, THAT TOO IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF YOUR HUBS GO BAD YOUR WHEEL CAN COME OFF AT ANY SPEED...ANOTHER ISSUE. AND IF YOU ARE TRAPPED IN A BURNING CAR. I WOULD ALSO SAY THAT MAY BE AN ISSUE TOO. *TR
THE REAR SEAT HEAD RESTRAINTS DO NOT RAISE TO THE STANDARD RECOMMENDED BY 49 CFR 571. THEY CAN BE LIFTED TO 26 INCHES, NOT 27 1/2 INCHES MIN. AS THE STANDARD RECOMMENDS WHICH RENDERS THEM NOT SAFE FOR FULL SIZE ADULTS. AS A RESULT, MANY PASSENGERS REFUSE TO SIT THERE, RENDERING MY "SUT" 5-SEATER TO BE A 2-SEATER VEHICLE. THE RESTRAINTS ARE ALSO NOT LOCKABLE. THANK YOU FOR THE ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS CONDITION FIXED. CADILLAC RECOGNIZES THAT ALL THEIR ESCALADE EXTS ARE THE SAME BUT REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE NOT STANDARD AND NEED FIXING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LIFTGATE CLOSED INADVERTENTLY WHILE SHE WAS STANDING UNDER THE DOOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. *TR
WHILE TRYING TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THE DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF IN OUR HANDS NOT ALLOWING US TO ENTER THE VEHICLE ON A BUSY STREET. I CONTACTED GM WHO HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE IT STATING THAT MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. HOWEVER, GIVEN THE OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF OWNERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE, THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND OWNERS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS $300 REPAIR. *TR
I WAS JUST GOING ON A STRAT STREET AT 25MPR .ALL AT ONCE ALL THE REAR AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND ON STAR CALLED TO SEE IF I WAS OK .I HAVE TRIED TO WORK IT OUT WITH GM AND I WAS TOLD A SENSOR FOUND A PROBLEM BUT WOULDN'T TELL ME WHAT . CRACK ON FRONT DASH APPEARED A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. WAS TOLD IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL. TODAY I NOW HAVE THREE CRACKS AND AN ESTIMATE OF ALMOST $400 TO REPLACE THE PART. IN A QUICK LOOK ONLINE THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE VERY COMMON. I KNOW THERE IS A PUSH TO HAVE GM REPLACE THIS PART AT THEIR EXPENSE AS IT APPEARS TO BE DEFECTIVE. RIGHT REAR EXT DOOR HANDLE BROKE. DUE TO THIS I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CHILD OUT OF THE SEAT HE WAS IN. THIS DEFECT COULD PREVENT EMERGENCY EXIT FROM A VEHICLE. PER CADILLAC FORUMS THIS HAS BEEN A WELL KNOWN DEFECT IN THE PART SINCE MID 2007 AND EFFECT VEHICLES AT ALL MILEAGES. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE FRONT EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE LOOSE FROM THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. I CONTACTED THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND WAS QUOTED $300+ FOR THE REPAIR. I LOOKED ONLINE AND WAS SURPRISED THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR NUMEROUS OWNERS. SO I CONTACTED CADILLAC, AND WAS INITIALLY TOLD IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, AND TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS AT NO COST TO ME. AFTER TAKING OFF WORK, WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS WAS NOT TRUE, WHEN ACTUALITY THE INTERIOR HANDLES ARE THE ACTUAL HANDLES UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE CHROME PEALING. AT THIS POINT THE CHROME ON THE INTERIOR HANDLES WERE NOT A CONCERN OF MINE. AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH GM/CADILLAC AND MY LOCAL DEALER FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT HANDLE AND DID THE REPAIR MYSELF. ABOUT A YEAR LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SEPARATED FROM THE BODY, I CONTACT CADILLAC TO MAKE A COMPLAINT, I DO GET A CALL BACK, THE REP ASK ME WHAT DO I WANT THEM TO DO, I SAY " IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THEY KNOWING THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE THAT THEY PAY FOR THE REPAIRS", I WAS TOLD " THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND DOESN'T FIT THE CATEGORY OF HAVING A RECALL ISSUED", I STATED WELL IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, AND SOMEONE NEEDED TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE, IS THIS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE? I WAS BASICALLY TOLD NO. AGAIN THEY ASK WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO? I SAID WELL, THIS IS MY SECOND HANDLE THAT HAS BROKEN, AT LEAST PAY SOME PORTION OF IT, I WAS TOLD THAT IS LEFT UP TO THE DEALER TO DECIDE. WHEN MY FIRST HANDLE BROKE, I TRIED TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE DEALER TO BRING THE COST DOWN, WITH NO SUCCESS. SO I LET THE REP., KNOW JUST ANNOTATE THIS AS A COMPLAINT. I AGAIN WENT ON THE INTERNET AND PURCHASED A HANDLE AND DID THE REPAIR MYSELF. THE HANDLES CAN BE FOUND FOR LESS THAN $50 (WITH A WARRANTY) AND TAKE ABOUT 30 MIN. TO INSTALL. MY INTERIOR HANDLE WERE NEVER REPLACED, GO FIGURE, NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. UPDATED 02/28/13 *BF
ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED AND POTENTIAL FOR WIRING HARNESS TO BE STETCHED TO THE POINT TO CAUSE LOSS OF MANY ENGINE FUNCTIONS. ADDITIONALLY THE OIL PAN GASKET HAS ALSO FAILED.WAS INFORMED BY DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THESE ARE COMMON OCCURENCES IN THESE VEHICLES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXTERIOR FRONT AND REAR LEFT SIDE DOOR HANDLES BEGAN TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, WHEN CHANGING GEARS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
SUSPENSION AND ANTI LOCK BRAKES THE PROBLEM START IN 2012 AND THEY COULD NOT FIX IT FOR OVER 4 YEARS, I TRIED TWO CADILLAC DEALER AND THE LAST DEALER CONTACT THE ENGINEERING , AFTER ALL GM ENGINEERING TOLD ME IT UNFIXABLE.
CHROME PLATING ON INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAS PEELED RESULTING IN A RAZOR-BLADE LIKE EFFECT CAUSING INJURY TO HANDS WHEN USING DOOR HANDLES. SENIOR CITIZEN AGE 78 INJURED HAND WHILE USING DOOR. DESPITE THIS BEING A KNOWN DEFECT, GM REFUSES TO REPLACE THESE HANDLES AT THEIR COST AND HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THESE HANDLES WERE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF THE SAME DEFECT AND THE NEW ONES INSTALLED HAVE SUFFERED THE SAME PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER EA10004, "IN JULY 2010, GM ISSUED A SPECIAL COVERAGE POLICY (SCP 09239) ON THE BASE VEHICLES TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY COVERAGE TO 10 YEARS/100K MILES. RECENT DATA INDICATE THAT THE BASE POPULATION COMPLAINT AND INJURY REPORTING HAVE SUBSIDED SINCE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SCP CAMPAIGN. IN JUNE 2011, GM ADDED THE REMAINING INTERIM POPULATION (SEP-OCT 2006) TO THE SCP." CADILLAC HAS INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE, DESPITE HAVING THIS DEFECT, AND DESPITE BEING LISTED IN THE NHTSA REPORT, IS NOT A PART OF THE SCP. WHY IS THAT? *JS
HEARD FROM DEALER MY MANIFOLD BOLT IS BROKEN... SAID $500-600 TO FIX. *JS
WHILE TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY STEERING BECAME COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. I MANAGED TO EXIT HIGHWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. ATTEMPTED TO MAKE LEFT TURN BUT CAR CONTINUED TO GO STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AS IT WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. INFORMED BY DEALER THE MANIFOLD HEATSHIELD RUSTED AND FELL INTO THE STEERING MECHANISM CAUSING THE COMPLETE LACK OF STEERING CONTROL. EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY REFUSES TO COVER REPAIR. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A DEER THAT RAN OUT IN THE ROAD. THE DEER STRUCK THE VEHICLE'S WINDSHIELD. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP AND THE BUMPER, FOG LAMPS, TOW BRACKET COVER, AIR DEFLECTOR, FAN MOTORS, AND RADIATOR WERE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE LIFTER WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND SEVERAL OTHER THINGS WERE REPAIRED ON THE VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO QUOTED $1,000 FOR REPAIRS. AT THE TIME WE DROPPED IT OFF THE SERVICE MANAGER MADE US AWARE THAT THERE WAS A "BULLETIN FROM GENERAL MOTORS " ABOUT THE PROBLEM THAT IT WAS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND THEY WOULD NOT ISSUE A RECALL." IT WAS FOUND BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE FRONT JOUNCE BUMPERS AND FRONT STRUTS AND MOUNTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED GM SERVICE LINE WHILE IT WAS STILL IN THE SHOP AND HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS IN ORDER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. I HAD NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO GM AND THEY STATED "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" AND YOUR 50,000 BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT SINCE IT HAD 62,926 MILES ON IT. I REQUESTED A DISTRICT SUPERVISOR REVIEW AND THE OUTCOME WAS THE SAME. WE HAVE HAD CADILLACS FOR 25+ YEARS AND SOME WITH 200,000+ MILES ON THEM AND NEVER HAD THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM AND TREATMENT FROM ANYONE. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY'S LIVES RIDING IN THIS 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE SUV. GMAC AND MCGINNIS HAVE CREATED AN UNDUE HARDSHIP AND FEAR FOR MY FAMILY'S LIVES. YES, WE FEAR FOR OUR LIVES AS A FAMILY WHEN WE ARE IN THIS VEHICLE; IT IS NOT CERTAIN IF WE WILL MAKE IT BACK HOME. GMAC AND MCGINNIS CADILLAC DEALERSHIP KNEW THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD 'ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS' FROM THE OUTSET BUT DIDN'T NOTIFY US OF THESE PROBLEMS UNTIL SEPTEMBER OF 2008 PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY LIVES IN FURTHER DANGER AS WELL AS TO MY HOUSE IF THIS CAR WOULD 'CATCH A FIRE'; THIS 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE SUV WAS HOUSED EVERY NIGHT IN MY ENCLOSED GARAGE. AS STATED FROM THEIR SAFETY RECALL MEMO DATED SEPTEMBER, 2008. "A SHORT CIRCUIT ON THE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD FOR THE WASHER HEATER MAY OVERHEAT THE CONTROL CIRCUIT GROUND WIRE. THIS MAY CAUSE OTHER ELECTRICAL FEATURES TO MALFUNCTION, CREATE AN ODOR, OR CAUSE SMOKE. IN RARE CASES, IT MAY CAUSE A FIRE." IT IS CLEARLY STATED IN THEIR RECALL MEMO THAT THIS VEHICLE "MAY CAUSE A FIRE". GMAC AND MCGINNIS CADILLAC DEALERSHIP KNEW THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES WHEN THEY ARE IN THIS VEHICLE. AS CAN BE SEEN FROM MY ATTACHED DOCUMENTS INCLUDING THE TRANSACTION HISTORY FOR THIS VEHICLE, WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SINCE WE OWNED THIS VEHICLE AND NEITHER MCGINNIS CADILLAC DEALERSHIP NOR LEVI CADILLAC DEALERSHIPS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THESE PROBLEMS. GMAC WAS CORRECT IN STATING THAT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WILL CAUSE OTHER "ELECTRICAL FEATURES TO FAIL" AS CAN BE SHOWN FROM THEIR TRANSACTION HISTORY AND MY SUMMARY OF THEIR TRANSACTION HISTORY INCLUDING MY INVOICES OF REPAIRS: 1.BATTERY WAS REPLACED SIX TIMES 2.AIR CONDITIONING HVAC CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED 3.ALL CIGA. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE.
