AT 70,000 MILES MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO SAID IT'S THE TIMING CHAIN. HE NOW HAS MY CAR COMPLETELY TORN APART SO HE CAN FIX THE OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE ISSUE.
BOTH FRONT TURNING INDICATORS ARE BROKEN. THE RIGHT TURNING INDICATOR WAS FIXED BY MY HUSBAND AND QUIT WORKING 2 DAYS AFTER HE GOT IT WORKING. A FEW DAYS LATER THE LEFT TURNING INDICATOR STOPPED WORKING.
CAR SHUTTERS AND BUCKS AT SPEEDS AROUND 39-55 , NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO CONTACT CADILLAC WITH NO HELP AT ALL ! THE DEALER I DEALT WITH CLOSED ABRUPTLY WITHOUT NOTICE !
MY TIMING CHAIN FAILED AT 70,000ML, THERE IS A SB-10043857-3386 BULLETIN NO:11340B :DATE:JULY 2012 THAT SHOULD COVER MY VEHICLE FOR FREE TIMING CHAIN REPLACEMENT. GM DOES NOT WANT TO HONOR THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ISSUED THIS SB. PLEASE HELP. MY VEHICLE IS MANUFACTURED IN 2009 IN MEXICO (DATE ON DOOR TAG) AND IT SHOULD BE PART OF THIS RECALL. PLEASE HELP.
WHILE MOVING, ON A CITY STREET,SMOKE CAME FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE BRAKES NO LONGER FUNCTIONED.

THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF AND REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE IN ORDER TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IT WAS THE CONTACT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-909379197. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE REDUCE ENGINE SPEED WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,762.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MULTIPLE MINOR LACERATIONS ON THE LEFT FOREARM DUE TO THE FAILURE, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.
CAR JERKS AND SHUDDERS HEAVILY WHEN ACCELERATING AT 2000 RPM OR BETWEEN 40 AND 60 MPH. CHANGED TO NEW DRIVE SHAFT, TRANSMISSION REBUILT BUT NOTHING WORKS. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. IT HAPPENS AT HIGHWAYS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,073.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
THE CHAIN IN THE TRANSFER CASE OF MY VEHICLE BECAME LOOSE. AT FIRST THE CHAIN WAS SKIPPING ON THE SPROCKETS ONLY WHEN I LET THE CAR ROLL AND THEN ACCELERATE, IT GAVE A JUMP UNTIL IT GOT TIGHT AGAIN, BUT AFTER FEW HUNDRED MILES OF DRIVING LIKE THIS IT STARTED TO SKIP WHENEVER I TRY ACCELERATE AND IT'S UNDER LOAD FOR EXAMPLE ON A RAMP TO A FREEWAY OR UPHILL, THIS BECOMES REALLY SCARY TO DRIVE. I'M AFRAID THAT ONE DAY IT WILL START TO ROLL BACKWARDS UPHILL WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THIS ISSUE IS DISCUSSED ONLINE ON FORUMS IN LENGTH BY THE CADILLAC COMMUNITY AND EVERYBODY IS WONDERING HOW CADILLAC HAS AVOIDED THIS FROM GETTING A RECALL SINCE IT SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM! THE CAR SERGE'S ALL THE TIME, THE MOTOR SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL WHEN YOU START IT FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS THEN GOES AWAY. HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND DID EVERYTHING I AND THE MECHANICS COULD DO AND IT IS STILL THERE. THE KEY KEEPS GETTING STUCK AND HARD TO START. THIS CADILLAC SRX ONLY HAS 82K MILES AND THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 25K MILES. GUESS I JUST NEVER NEED TO BY A CADILLAC AGAIN.

AND WIRE HARNESS.COST 1042.00.CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. *TR
THE CHROME OVERLAY ON THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE SEPARATED FROM THE BASE METAL OF THE DOOR HANDLE EXPOSING A SHARP EDGE ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE DOOR HANDLE, WHICH CANNOT BE READILY VISIBLE UNTIL YOU PULL ON THE HANDLE WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THE CHROME OVERLAY PEELED UP SLIGHTLY EXPOSING A SHARP EDGE OF THE CHROME THAT COULD CUT THE HAND. THE PART IS NOT A VERY EXPENSIVE PART, AND THE INCIDENT IS NOT A MAJOR INCIDENT, BUT THE SEPARATED CHROME OVERLAY COULD CAUSE SLICING OF THE HAND OR FINGER WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR. IT SEEMS TO BE A QUALITY ISSUE. *TR
AT 9:00 PM ET ON 20-NOV-2012 I WAS DRIVING 20 MINUTES TO MY HOME FROM MY IN-LAWS AT ~30 MPH IN MONROE, OHIO WHEN MY AIRBAGS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO CAMARGO CADILLAC'S BODY SHOP FOR REPAIRS THE MORNING OF 21-NOV-2012. BOTH A SPECIALIST FROM STATE FARM (MY INSURANCE) AND THE INSPECTOR HIRED BY GM DECLARED THAT THE AIRBAGS MALFUNCTIONED. GM?S REPRESENTATIVE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE ON 03-DEC-2012 AND THE REPORT WAS RECEIVED AT GM ON 12-DEC-2012. IT WAS NOT UNTIL 19-DEC-2012 THAT GM APPROVED PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS. GM WOULD NOT STATE WHAT ERROR OCCURRED THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO MALFUNCTION. MY CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 100,000 MILES AND HAD ~ 76,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. IT TOOK ~2 MONTHS FOR THE REPAIRS TOTAL. NO APOLOGIES WERE MADE BY GM FOR STRESS OR FOR PUTTING MY LIFE AT RISK. I AM THANKFUL NO ONE ELSE WAS AFFECTED BY THE ACCIDENT, AS I WAS DRIVING ALONE AND DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 CADILLAC SRX. ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN AND STRUCK ME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE POINT OF IMPACT WAS ON THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL AND THE LEFT FRONT DOOR. THE SIDE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY INSPITE OF EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FRAME WAS BENT, THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE REPAIR COSTS ARE ESTIMATED @7500. *TR
