THE CAR HAS EXTREMELY DIM LOW BEAMS AND I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING AT NIGHT. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE VEHICLE STATIONARY EMOTION OR ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING EVER SINCE I GOT THIS CAR
MY HEADLAMPS KEEP FILLING WITH MOISTURE ALSO KNOWN AS CONDENSATION CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO GO OUT OR BLOW. CADILLAC SENT ME A LETTER SAYING THAT IT WAS A ' MANUFACTURE MALFUNCTION' SINCE THEY DIDN'T LIST IT AS A RECALL THEY STATE THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM. THEY GO OUT RANDOMLY SOME LAST A COUPLE WEEKS SOMETIMES THEY LAST A COUPLE DAYS IT COULD BE WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY CITY STREET TURNING OR EVEN SITTING THERE. I PROVIDED THE QUOTE THEY REQUESTED ME TO GET. YET IT HAD TO BE PAID AND COMPLETED 90 DAYS AFTER THE LETTER. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY LAYING AROUND AND 90 DAYS ISN'T ENOUGH TIME TO COME UP WITH THAT KIND OF MONEY.
BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE IS THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE DIM SETTING. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD IN THIS MODE. HAVE CHANGED TO BULBS TO THE MOST EXPENSIVE I CAN GET WITH NO BETTER RESULTS. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT HOW DOES THIS GO ON WITHOUT GETTING RECALLED, HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THE ISSUE WITH STABILITY TRACK IS HAS TO BE SET EVERY FEW MONTHS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING TO SEE THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. CADILLAC OF SIOUX FALLS (101 CAROLYN AVE, SIOUX FALLS, SD 57107, (605) 336-5060) WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE LOW-BEAM LIGHT BULBS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
IN FEB. 2019 MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR CAUSING ME TO RUN A RED LIGHT. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. THE PROBLEM DID NOT REPEAT AND I DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND REPLACED ALL PARTS WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED IT. THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN WENT TO THE FLOOR IN FEB. 2021 WHEN EXITING A STORE PARKING LOT AND NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. AGAIN TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WHO DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH AT NIGHT DUE TO LOW HEADLIGHT BEAM. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY HEADLIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD.
VERY DIM (INEFFECTIVE) LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS.
PAINT ON HOOD AND ROOF HAVE BUBBLED RESULTING IN PAINT CHIPPING OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BUD DAVIS CADILLAC INC. (5433 POPLAR AVE, MEMPHIS, TN 38119, (901) 881-0177) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000. *DT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE IS REPAIRED.*JB
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR AT NIGHT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME SO DIM THAT THEY ARE NOT USABLE TO DRIVE. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT I MUST USE MY BRIGHTS TO SEE THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME. CHANGING THE BULBS DID NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
I BOUGHT A 2012 CADILLAC SRX ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS ONLY MY VEHICLE BUT AFTER READING DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS, THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE THAT CADILLAC NEEDS TO ADDRESS ASAP! I CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT TURNING ON HIGH BEAMS WHICH CREATES ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I AM NOT ELDERLY OR SOMEONE WITH VISION PROBLEMS AND WHEN I CANNOT SEE THE WHITE LINES JUST A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF ME, IT IS RIDICULOUS! I HOPE CADILLAC REALIZES THE LIABILITY OF THIS ISSUE AND THAT IF SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED BECAUSE THEY CANNOT SEE, THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THERE ARE FAR TO MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THEM TO IGNORE THIS! I AM STUCK NOW WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS USELESS IF YOU CANNOT DRIVE IT WHEN YOU WANT! THE MOMENT I CAN GET ENOUGH PAID OFF, I WILL BE SELLING IT AND NEVER BUYING ANOTHER CADILLAC PRODUCT.
DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. CADILLAC SAYS NO RECALL. HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. CADILLAC SAYS WATER IS GETTING IN LIGHTS CAUSING THE LIGHT TO GO FAULTY. CALIFIRNIA LAWSUIT WAS WON BUT FOR CALIFORNIA ONLY TO GET THEM FIXED. THIS IS MY SPOUSES VEHICLE AND I AM IN FEAR OF HER AND MY CHILD'S SAFETY. YOU CANNOT SEE WITH THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ON AT NIGHT PERIOD. THE LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN RAINING OR BEING FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE OTHER VEHICLES LIGHTS CAST MY CARS SHADOW IN THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE CAUSING MORE DANGER SEEING. I AM AMAZED AT ALL THE COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND I HOPE AND PRAY NO ONE HAS LOST THEIR LIFE OVER THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP GETTING THESE VEHICLES REPAIRED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES OR LOSES ANOTHER LIFE OVER THIS ISSUE. THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ISSUE. HEADLIGHTS ARE TERRIBLE...POOR PROJECTION/DIM LIGHTING CAUSING DANGEROUS NIGHT TRAVEL... I HAVE REPLACED BULBS TWICE WITH NO IMPROVEMENT...
1. LOW BEAMS HEAD LIGHTS VERY WEAK HAD THE LENS BUFFED AND POLISHED BUT THIS ONLY HELP A LITTLE. HAVING TO USE HIGH BEAMS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ON SINGLE AND TWO LANE ROADS. VERY UNSAFE NIGHT DRIVING. 2. REAR TAIL GATE CLOSES AUTOMATICALLY AFTER BEING OPENED FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS, THIS ACTION IS SUBJECT TO CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS USING THE REAR GATE TO STORE OR REMOVE ITEMS FROM VEHICLE. BOTH ISSUES OCCUR WHETHER VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. I SEE THERE IS NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THESE SAFETY ISSUES BUT IN MY OPINION THERE SHOULD HAVE. VEHICLE HEAD LAMP (LOW BEAN LIGHTING) IS TOO DIM TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS HAPPENED OVER TIME, WATER IS LEAKING INTO THE HEAD LAMP CAPSULES.
MY DIM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2012 CADILLAC SRX ARE DIMMER THAN A FLASHLIGHT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS BUT IT DOESN'T HELP. I HAVE RAN OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS ABLE TO RECOVER. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIC. I DON'T HAVE $1600 LAYING AROUND FOR THE SAME HEADLIGHTS REPLACEMENT. PLEASE HELP BEFORE I LOSE MY LIFE OR CAUSE THE DEATH OF SOME INNOCENT PERSON. THANK YOU.
I PURCHASED THE CAR ON 12.23.2018 FROM AUTONATION CHEVY IN GREENACRES FLORIDA. WHEN THE CAR WAS FIRST DRIVEN AT NIGHT, THE HEADLAMPS WERE NOT ILLUMINATING THE ROAD. NOTIFIED THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD TO BRING CAR IN TO HAVE IT FIXED AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT PART OF THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM HAD DE-LAMINATED INTERNALLY. THE DEALERSHIP SUBSEQUENTLY SAID THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AD REFUSED TO REPAIR IT AT THEIR EXPENSE NOR DID THE ACCEPT THE CAR BACK. I MAINTAIN THAT THE DEALERSHIP KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A CAR WITH A SAFETY ISSUE AND IS REFUSING TO TAKE CARE OF IT. INCIDENTALLY, THE COST TO ME TO REPAIR THIS WOULD BE ALMOST $2,000.00
LEFT HEADLIGHT BEGAN SHOWING MOISTURE INSIDE AND THEN BULB BURNT OUT. BOUGHT BULB FOR 109 DOLLARS ONLY TO FIND OUT I NEED A TOTAL REPLACEMENT KIT TO THE TUNE OF 2000 DOLLARS. NOW THE CAR WILL NOT PASS MASSACHUSETTS INSPECTION AND THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM PLEASE HELP HAVE GM RECALL. THEY SELL THE SAME EXACT KITS TO FIX AND IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. THERE IS NO GUARENTEE IT COULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN AND IT IS DANGEROUS DRIVING WITH 1 HEADLIGHT. THANK YOU
I HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ON MY 2012 CADILLAC SRX. IT WAS STILL DARK AT 5:30AM WHEN I FAILED TO SEE THE OUTER ROAD TURNED WHICH CAUSED ME TO COLLIDE WITH A CURB AND BECOME AIRBORNE. THIS ACCIDENT CAUSED 3 BLOWN OUT TIRES AND 2 RUINED RIMS. THIS COST ME $1700 AND IT WAS ALL CAUSED BY THE EXTREMELY DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE DIMMED OUT. THE HALOGEN BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT THE LIGHTS ARE STILL DIM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.
GM KNOWN DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS FOR ALL 2010-2015 SRX THAT HAVE BECOME EXTREMELY DIM OVER TIME AND SO NOW HAVE TO DRIVE ONLY WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS AT NIGHT AT ALL TIMES. GM DEALER TOLD BY GM TO ROUTINELY PASS THE EXTREMELY DIM LIGHTS AS WITHIN SPECS TO ESCAPE WARRANTY PERIOD, EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHTS ARE OBVIOUSLY TOO DIM UNTIL FINALLY BECOME TOTALLY DARK ON LOW BEAM AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRES BUT OFFERS NO WAY TO FIX. GM OFFERS NO METHOD TO FIX EXCEPT TO INSTALL NEW HEADLIGHTS FOR A $2,000 TEMPORARY MEASURE THAT REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE CAR, WHILE ALSO ADMITTING THAT ISSUE IS CERTAIN TO RE-OCCUR. HEADLIGHT BULBS ARE ALREADY REPLACED WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. GM DENIED TO REPAIR OR COME UP WITH AN IMPROVEMENT AND SAYS NOTHING FURTHER WILL BE DISCUSSED WITHOUT A RECALL.
THE SRX HAS AN EXTREMELY WELL-KNOWN ISSUE FOR WHICH GM HAS IGNORED. MY CAR IS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD AND THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME SO DIM - I WOULD OFTEN CHECK TO SEE IF THEY WERE EVEN ON. IT GOT SO BAD, THE CAR COULDN'T BE DRIVEN AT NIGHT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE AND THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT IS TO PAY GM OVER $1,000 TO REPLACE THEM. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE THAT CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR IS KILLED OR KILLS SOMEONE. I'VE CONTACTED CADILLAC A NUMBER OF TIMES AND I KEEP GETTING CANNED RESPONSES. THE LAST REPLY WAS, "MS. MATCHUS, MOTOR VEHICLE RECALLS ARE RELEASED WHEN THE VEHICLE OR AN ITEM IN THE VEHICLE'S EQUIPMENT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH A FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD; OR WHEN THERE IS A SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE OR EQUIPMENT. FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS SET MINIMUM PERFORMANCE LEVELS FOR THOSE PARTS OF THE VEHICLE WHICH MAY AFFECT ITS SAFE OPERATION (BRAKES, TIRES, LIGHTING, ETC) OR THOSE WHICH PROTECT DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS FROM DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH." I WOULD SAY FOR CERTAIN THAT THE WELL-KNOWN ISSUE WITH HEADLIGHTS BEING SO DIM THEY APPEAR TO NOT EVEN BE ON WOULD FALL UNDER THE " SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE OR EQUIPMENT." IF THE DEALERSHIP I WENT TO OPENLY SAID THEY HAD ALREADY DONE THREE VEHICLES BEFORE ME FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN THE PAST 48 HOURS, THAT SEEMS LIKE ENOUGH PUSH FOR A RECALL. NOT TO MENTION THE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE REPORTED THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE ONLINE. PLEASE ADVOCATE FOR A RECALL OF THIS. DIM HEAD LIGHTS ... UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS AT NIGHT HAVE TO USE BRIGHT LIGHTS OFTEN WHICH IS BAD FOR OTHER DRIVERS
MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME VERY DIM IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS. ON TWO OCCASIONS, I HAVE GONE OFF OF A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY ON CLEAR NIGHTS WITH NO VISIBILITY. FORTUNATELY, NO DAMAGES OR INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. I HAVE HAD TO RESORT TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ENGAGED TO SEE SAFELY. CADILLAC WILL NOT RECALL THESE LIGHTS AND WANT $1500 TO CHANGE THEM WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE REPLACEMENTS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM ARE SO DIM THE CAR IS NOT SAFELY DRIVABLE AT NIGHT. IT IS AS IF THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT MOISTURE HAD GOTTEN INTO THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND MADE THE LENS OBSTRUCTED.
The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated she noticed that the headlight of the vehicle was lower than usual. The headlight was replaced. On a separate occasion, the contact had the vehicle diagnosed by a mechanic who stated that the body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000.
I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF A 2012 CADILLAC SRX, PURCHASED I. EARLY NO EMBER 2018. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. THE CAUSE HAS BEEN TRACED TO FAULTY SEALANT AROUND THE FACTORY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH ALLOWS MOISTURE INTO THE CHAMBER, RUINING THE BULBS. I AM FORCED TO USE HIGH BEAMS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, BLINDING ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND THUS CREATING A DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. THIS HAZARD AFFECTS 2010-2015 MODELS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS POSTED ON THE INTERNET DESCRIBING THE PROBLEM, AND HOW FM AND CADILLAC DENY THE FAULT AND OFFER CUSTOMERS NO WORKABLE SOLUTIONS. LIVES ARE AT STAKE HERE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE PROMPTLY TO CONFIRM THE EXISTENCE OF THIS HAZARD, AND FORCE FM TO ADDRESS IT PROPERLY. THANK YOU.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD MUST DRIVE WITH HEADLIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM. WHILE I WAS DRIVING RAN OFF OF ROAD WHILE PASSING AN ONCOMING CAR IN OTHER LANE BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE ROAD. ALSO COULD NOT SEE TURN LANE FOR MAKING A LEFT TURN. TRAFFIC BEHIND ME WAS BACKED UP AND THEY BLEW THEIR HORN BECAUSE I WAS NOT IN THE TURN LANE. I COULD NOT SEE THE LINES FOR LEFT TURN LANE BECAUSE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC I COULD NOT USE MY HIGH BEAMS!!!! THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A YEAR OR MORE BUT TONIGHT IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING!!!
HEADLIGHTS GOING DIM. I REPLACED THE BULBS (BOTH) IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR AS MY HEADLIGHTS WERE TO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NOW 8 MONTHS LATER I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I NOTICED CONDENSATION INSIDE THE GLASS. SINCE THEN I HAVE R ACHED AND FOUND THIS IS NOT ONLY A DANGEROUS ISSUE BUT A SUBSTANTIAL ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND YEAR. I FEEL BETRAYED BY MY DEALER AS THEY KNOW VERY WELL THE ISSUE. MANU CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED. I TRULY LOVE MY CADILLAC AND WOULD PURCHASE ANOTHER. BUT THAT WILL REMAIN TO BE SEEN AS TO HOW THIS ISSUE IS HANDLED.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING/HEAD LAMPS REPLACED: COST 1163.53 I HAD TO REPLACE FACTORY HEADLIGHTS AT THIS HIGH COST DUE NO OTHER WAY TO FIX DIMMED LOW BEAM LIGHTS. I AM REQUESTING A REFUND. CAR DEALER INFORMED ME MY VIN HAS NOT APPEARED ON THE LAWSUIT REIMBURSEMENT. MY LIFE AND OTHERS WERE JUST A WHITE LINE AWAY FROM A MAJOR ACCIDENT WHILE COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. I NEED HELP IN GETTING A REFUND. MY DATE OF REPAIR WAS 10/25/18 IN ALABAMA. I HAD BEEN A NERVOUS WRECK DRIVING AT NIGHT IN THE CITY WHERE I LIVE AND ON THE COUNTY ROADS NEAR MY HOUSE. HEAVEN HELPED ME WHEN IT RAINED COULD NOT SEE WITH MY LIGHTS SO I HAD TO KEEP UP WITH THE TRAFFIC TO USE OTHER CARS LIGHTS. FRIGHTENING! DOES ANY ONE CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF US WHO ARE DRIVING THESE CADILLAC'S? LIKE OTHERS I EXPERIENCED THE SAME TERROR. WHEN A I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD SEVERAL WARRANTIES DOES NOT COVER THE DIM LIGHTS. OWNERS HAVE TO PAY AND REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT. A LAWSUIT WAS WON IN APRIL AFFECTING THESE SUVS AND OWNERS WERE ENCOURAGED TO FILE. MY VIN IS NOT ON YGE LIST. THEY TOLD ME TO KEEP CHECKING AND TO FILE WITH NHTSA. MY MOST FRIGHTENING NIGHT WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE BESIDES 18 WHEELERS. I COULD NOT SEE AFTER THEY PASSED ON BY AND OTHER TRUCKS WERE APPROACHING ME. SCARED TO DEATH BECAUSE IT WAS HARD TO STAY IN MY LANE. 50 MILES WAS TOO LONG TO ENDURE THIS HEADACHE AND I HAVE HYPERTENSION ...BAD COMBINATION. THE LIGHT HAD BEEN GOING DIM FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS SO I THOUGHT I COULD JUST HI AND REPLACE THE BULBS, OH BUT NO THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A HIGH COST SO I CHARGED IT ON MY CREDIT CARD.
2012 CADILLAC SRX WITH ONLY 63332 MILES. BOTH HEADLIGHTS STARTED SWEATING MOISTURE INSIDE LENS. THIS STARTED AFTER I HAD TO START PARKING THE SRX OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO. THEN RIGHT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. DEALER CHARGED $1561 PLUS INSTALLATION TO REPLACE. NOW I HAVE TO TRY AND DRY OUT THE MOISTURE EACH DAY ON THE LEFT LIGHT EVEN IF THE SRX IS NOT DRIVEN. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MY FIRST CADILLAC. SHOULD BE MY LAST.
I HAVE A CADILLAC 2012 AND I CAN NOT SEE TO DRIVE IT AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS TO SEE BLINGING THE ON COMING VEHICLES WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. AT UNKNOWN TIME WHEN A APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES MY VEHICLE WONT STOP. I HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKES AND THAT DON'T WORK. THE PEDAL DROPS TO THE FLOOR. TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY STATED THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS HAVE HAPPEN TO ME 3 TIMES AS OF NOW, I PRAY THERE ISN'T A ACCIDENT.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING AT NIGHT. YOU CANNOT SEE 30 FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR ON A DARK ROAD. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MECHANICS THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO GUARANTEE IMPROVEMENT. THIS IS BOTH GM MECHANICS AND INDEPENDENT. NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT IS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS TO ME BUT ALSO TO ONCOMING DRIVERS AS I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS TO SEE WHERE I AM GOING AND CONSEQUENTLY CREATE GLARE FOR THE ONCOMING CARS. I FEEL THAT CADILLAC HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE SAFETY WHEN THEY SELL A PRODUCT. PLEASE RECALL THE CAR AND RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I AM PLANNING TO KEEP THIS CAR FOR MORE THAN FOUR MORE YEARS AND DONT WANT TO HAVE A SAFETY PROBLEM TO TRY TO WORK AROUND. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FROM NEW IN 2012 AND USE IT EVERYDAY. IT HAS BEEN, AND IS, MAINTAINED BY GM. DEALERS .
TOE LINK TORQUED INCORRECTLY SUSPENSION IN REAR IS AFFECTED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL SHIFTED OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO FOUND THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL TOE LINK ADJUSTER SEPARATED, WHICH CAUSED THE WHEEL TO BE UNBALANCED. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TOE LINK WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V571000 (SUSPENSION) IN 2014 BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
THE DRIVERS SEAT MOVES ON IT'S OWN IN PARK AND IN DRIVE. AT ONE POINT I HAD TO REMOVE MY SEATBELT AND SIT ON EDGE OF SEAT TO REACH THE PEDALS ON THE HIGHWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
EXTERIOR LIGHTS ON DIM ARE NOT GOOD. HARD TO SEE. HAD NEW BULBS LIKE WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY IN THE CAR PUT IN AND THEY TOO WENT DIM. ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND GM SAID NO. THIS IS LEAVING MY VEHICLE UNDRIVEABLE AT NIGHT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GM DOES NOT HAVE A PERMANANT FIX FOR THIS AVAILABLE. THEY SHOULD REPLACE THESE BAD LIGHTS. HIGH BEAMS ARE FINE IT'S JUST THE DIM LIGHTS, I COULD GET A TICKET FOR DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON ALL THE TIME SO I CAN SEE SO I JUST DRIVE ANOTHER CAR AT NIGHT. THEY WERE FINE UNTIL 5 MONTHS AGO.
DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS THAT SEEM TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THESE VEHICLES. GM CLAIMS NO WRONGDOING AND ANY REPAIR COSTS UP TO $1500. COMPLAINTS ABOUND THROUGHOUT THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS SERIES OF CARS. TOTALLY UNREASONABLE RESPONSES TO COMPLAINTS SUGGESTING THAT DEALER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN APRIL OF '18 AND, BECAUSE OF CITY DRIVING, DIDN'T REALLY DISCOVER THE DANGER OF THIS PROBLEM UNTIL AUGUST WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON RURAL ROADS. IT'S AS IF THERE ARE HARDLY ANY LIGHTS ON AT ALL. I FEEL THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD TAKE ACTION WITH THIS PROBLEM IN ADVANCE OF FATALITIES THAT MAY OCCUR DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. IT'S A GREAT VEHICLE, OTHERWISE.

THE EXTERIOR HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM YOU CANNOT SEE THE ROAD WITH THESE LIGHTS. MY WIFE HAS ALMOST RAN INTO A DITCH BECAUSE THESE HEADLIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING GENERAL MOTORS DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE FAULT WITH THIS PROBLEM. IS SOMEONE GOING TO HAVE TO BE KILLED BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE AFTER DARK WITHOUT BRIGHT LIGHTS. VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AFTER DARK. GM DOESN'T HAVE A RECOMMENDED REPAIR THAT DOESN'T COST THE AUTO OWNER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE GONE COMPLETELY OUT, IT HAPPENED OVER A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME, THEY SLOWLY BECAME VERY DIM AND NOW THE THEY ARE COMPLETELY OUT AND CANT BE USED AT NIGHT. I HAVE RESULTED IN USING MY HIGH-BEAMS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER COMPLAINANTS BUT NO RESOLUTION.

GM IS WELL AWARE OF PROBLEM AND OFFERS NO SOLUTION FOR THE REPAIR AS THE SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS ARE INSTALLED AT A HIGH COST, BUT PROBLEM REMAINS. THERE ARE AT LEAST TWO CLASS-ACTION LAWSUITS WHICH HAVE BEEN FILED. PLEASE TAKE THIS TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH GM, HAVE THEM TAKE CARE OF THIS DEFECT AND PROTECT CONSUMERS.
PURCHASED 2012 CADILLAC SRX ON JUNE 26, 2018 IN MISSISSIPPI. CANNOT SEE AT NIGHT BECAUSE OF EXTREMELY DIM HEADLIGHTS. SEVERAL SERVICE MANAGERS ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE HEARD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE DIM LIGHTS AND SAFETY CONCERNS. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS INVESTIGATED BECAUSE THE DEALERD WANT THE VEHICLE OWNER TO PAY FOR REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHTS, STATING THAT REFLECTIVE FINISH INSIDE THE HOUSING DOES FADE AND STOP PROJECTING THE LIGHT AS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT I CAN BARELY SEE MAYBE 6 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN PASSING ONCOMING LIGHTS FROM VEHICLES 1 OR 2 LANES OVER, MY LIGHTS ARE WASHED OUT AS PITCH DARK(BLINDED). I FEEL VERY UNSAFE BUT NO CAR DEALERSHIP HAS NOT AGREED TO MAKE THIS PURCHASE A SAFE RELIABLE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS REALLY A MANUFACTURER MATERIAL DEFECT.
