LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TERRIBLE. THEY ARE TOO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL.
ON 6/25/18, MY WIFE WAS TRAVELING 45 MPH., IN OUR 2012 CADILLAC SRX. THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER WENT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO A SUBDIVISION. BUT, THEN DECIDED NOT TO DO THAT AND PULLED BACK INTO THE LANE OF MY WIFE. SHE SLAMMED ON HER BRAKES, TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, SHE COULDN?T ANTICIPATE THEIR MOVE. SHE HIT THEM FROM BEHIND, GOING 45MPH. SHE HIT HER FOREHEAD ON THE VISOR BAR TWICE, CAUSING A SKULL FRACTURE, BRAIN BLEED, SEVER CONCUSSION, DEEP LACERATIONS, A BURST ARTERY IN HER FOREHEAD TO WHERE SHE WAS BLEEDING HEAVILY AND UNCONSCIOUS. HER CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL, WHICH BADLY BRUISED HER RIBS, CAUSING A HIATAL HERNIA, DUE TO THE IMPACT. SHE SUFFERED LACERATIONS TO HER LEFT ARM, KNEE AND HAS RUPTURED DISCS IN HER CERVICAL SPINE. SHE WAS ICU FOR SEVERAL DAYS DUE TO THE BRAIN BLEED AND HEAD INJURIES SHE SUSTAINED. OUR AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED AND THE DRIVER SEAT BELT DIDN?T LOCK ON IMPACT, ALLOWING HER TO BOUNCE UPWARD TWICE AND SUSTAINED THE HEAD INJURIES. THE CADILLAC AIR BAGS AND SEAT LOCKING MECHANISMS FAILED TO PROTECT HER FROM INJURIES SHE SHOULD HAD NEVER HAD. SOMEONE NEEDS TO RESEARCH FURTHER THESE ISSUES FOR THE 2012 SRX SO OTHER CONSUMERS DON?T FEEL SAFE IN A VEHICLE, WHERE THE SAFETY MECHANISMS FAIL. CADILLAC SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. SHOULD THE 2012 SRX HAVE A RECALL ON AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELT LOCKING MECHANISMS FAILING? MORE THAN ONE COMPLAINT HAS BEEN POSTED, SO I HOPE THE NHTSA INVESTIGATES THIS FOR US ALL. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE AFTER DARK WITHOUT BRIGHT LIGHTS. VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AFTER DARK. GM DOESN'T HAVE A RECOMMENDED REPAIR THAT DOESN'T COST THE AUTO OWNER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT. SOMETIMES LIGHTS JUST GO OFF.
LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS BECAME VERY DIM. CLEANED HOUSINGS AND REPLACED BULBS, AND PROBLEM DID NOT GET ANY BETTER. WE HAVE TO USE HIGH BEAMS ALL THE TIME TO SEE AT NIGHT.
DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS PERFORMANCE ON MY 2012 CADILLAC SRX. DEALERSHIP SUGGESTIONS IS TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES. DEALERSHIP ALSO STATED THAT WITHIN THE LAST YEAR THEY HAVE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 80 HEADLIGHTS ASSEMBLIES ON THE MAKE FOR MODEL YEARS 2011-2016. I FIND THIS AN ISSUE WHEN THERE IS NO OUTSIDE DAMAGE TO MY HEADLIGHTS. WHEN I CONTACT A GENERAL MOTORS THEY DON'T HAVE THE DATA TO PROVIDE THE QUANTITATIVE NUMBERS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEARS. DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAM IS THE BEST LIGHT PERFORMANCE BUT BLINDING TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND DRIVERS.
THE FIRST CONCERN WAS DUE TO A LEAK IN THE SUNROOF SHORTING OUT A CIRCUIT BOARD THE TAILGATE OF MY VEHICLE NEARLY SHUT ON MY SON AS HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO REACH IN TO REMOVE AN ITEM FROM THE CARGO SPACE. HE DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS CLOSING AND THERE MUST NOT BE A WORKING SAFETY FEATURE BECAUSE IF I HAD NOT SCREAMED IT WOULD HAVE CLOSED ON HIM. SECONDLY, THE HEADLIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE STARTED FLICKERING WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ALREADY OVERLY DIM DUE TO A MOISTURE PROBLEM, BUT NOW THEY FLICKER AND WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THIS IS NOT SAFE. THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS ALSO GO OUT MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE SPEED YOU ARE DRIVING. YOU CAN HEAR WATER SLOSHING INSIDE THE CAR AND YOU CAN HEAR THE ELECTRICITY CRACKLING ALSO. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR MY SON BUT HE CANNOT DRIVE IT DUE TO SO MANY SAFETY ISSUES. I CALLED GM AND THEY BASICALLY BLEW ME OFF LIKE SO MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. I SPOKE WITH 2 REPS OVER THE PHONE AND TRIED THE LIVE CHAT FEATURE. ALL 3 REPS SAID TO TAKE IT TO A LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER AND PAY HUNDREDS FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TO BE RUN AND ACCORDING TO ALL OF THE OTHER UPSET CUSTOMERS I AM LOOKING AT HAVING THOUSAND IN REPAIRS. GM KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND CORRECTED IT IN NEWER MODELS. THEY HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY.
LOWER FRONT DRIVERS BALL JOINT FAILED. CAUSING SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT HIGHWAY SPEED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE CHANGED, BUT WERE STILL INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WHARTON CADILLAC (1225 7TH ST, PARKERSBURG, WV 26102 (304) 485-7511) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ONLY THING THAT COULD BE DONE WAS TO CHANGE THE BULB TO A BRIGHTER BULB. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
REAR TIE ROD FAILED, CAME APART CAUSING STEERING TO BE VERY HAZARDOUS VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO ONCOMING LANE. TIE ROD DIDN'T BREAK IT WAS RUSTED FROM INSIDE, THE THREADS WERE WORN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IT WAS ON A SECONDARY ROAD AND THE ROAD IS IN GOOD CONDITION, NO POT HOLES SOME PATCHES HERE AND THERE BUT NOTHING TO WARRANT DISLODGING THE TIE ROD. AS STATED BEFORE TIE ROD DIDN'T BREAK SOMEHOW WATER GOT IN THE SLEEVE PART OF THE TIE ROD,CAUSING IT TO WEAR. I HAVE KEPT THE PARTS THAT THE DEALERSHIP FIXED JUST IN CASE THEY ARE IN NEED.
HEADLIGHT LOW BEAMS ARE SO DIM IT IS TOTALLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NO FIX AVAILABLE. I ADDED NEW LED LOW BEAMS AND FOG LIGHT AND STILL CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE COMPLAINT IS RAPID ON THE INTERNET FOR THE SAME ISSUES. NO RECALLS OR PROBLEM SOLUTIONS.
MOISTURE GETS INTO THE HEADLIGHT ENCLOSURES THROUGH CONDENSATION AND/OR RAIN IMPEDING THE HEADLIGHT BRIGHTNESS AND DISTANCE MAKING IT HARD TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED BY NUMEROUS CONSUMERS. THE DESIGN OF THE HEADLIGHT ENCLOSURE IS FLAWED ALLOWING MOISTURE FROM THE HOOD AND FRONT FENDERS TO RUN DOWN THE REAR OF THE HEADLIGHT ENCLOSURE AND ENTER THE ENCLOSURE THROUGH THE SEAM THAT FAILS ON THE REAR OF THE HEADLIGHT ENCLOSURE.
HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM ARE UNSAFE. I TRY NOT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE UNLESS YOU HAVE HEADLIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM!
HALOGEN FACTORY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT CAUSES VERY POOR VISIBILITY. HAVE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND INFORMATION THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH CADILLAC SRX'S 2010-2015 MODELS. GM SHOULD HAVE A RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM.
HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY ON MY 2012 CADILLAC SRX SEEM TO ALLOW WATER IN , IT HAS CAUSED MOISTER IN AND ON THE LENS AND BURNED OUT THE LOW BEAM LIGHT BULB. THERE ARE ONLY 78K MILES AND NEVER BEEN IN A ACCIDENT. FROM MY INTERNET SEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL YEARS OF THE SRX. MY WIFE RECEIVED THE DASHBOARD WARNING FOR THIS WHEN SHE GOT IN THE CAR LEAVING WORK. SHE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE THE 42 MILES HOME WITH THE HEADLIGHT OUT. DANGEROUS AND COULD CERTAINLY LEAD TO A TRAFFIC TICKET OR WORSE.
WE WERE TOLD THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED REPAIR AT 3 WEEKS OUTSIDE OF THE FACTORY 5 YEAR WARRANTY, AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 52,000 MILES. WE PRODUCED SERVICE RECORDS AS THEY ASKED BUT THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT A CADILLAC ULTIMATELY OFFERED US NO HELP AND WE HAD TO PAY $2100 FOR THE REPAIR. WE CHECKED ONLINE PRIOR TO THIS AND FOUND NUMEROUS POSTS, AND SOME RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM AS IT IS EXTREMELY COMMON ON THESE VEHICLES AND OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN/MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THERE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL, AND AGAIN CADILLAC ASSUMED NO MONETARY RESPONSIBILITY.
THE HEAD LIGHTS HAVE GROWN VERY DIM. VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS. DO NOT HAVE VERY GOOD LINE OF SIGHT. EVEN AFTER REPLACEMENT, STILL HAVE VERY LIMITED LINE OF SIGHT. STILL VERY DIM. THIS HAPPENS BOTH DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN TOWN.
HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY COLLECTS MOISTURE WHICH CAUSES HEADLIGHT BULB TO BECOME INOPERABLE. HAD THE BULB REPAIRED LAST YEAR AND NOW THE ASSEMBLY IS FULL OF MOISTURE AND BULB IS NOT WORKING AGAIN. CAN NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT DUE TO VISIBILITY OF THE ROAD FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT.
MOISTURE INSIDE OF FRONT HEADLIGHT. CAUSING FAILURE TO UNIT
OUR HEADLIGHTS HAVE GOTTEN DIMMER AND DIMMER (NOW TO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND BAD WEATHER). WHEN PARKED WITH HEADLIGHTS SHINING ON A WALL YOU CAN SEE SOME LIGHT, BUT ON THE ROAD THE LIGHT PRODUCED FEELS VERY UNSAFE. THE ONLY WAY TO USE THE CAR IS WITH THE HIGH-BEAMS TO GET ENOUGH LIGHT TO DRIVE SAFELY, BUT THIS IS RUDE (AND UNSAFE) FOR OTHER DRIVERS. WE AVOID USING THE CAR AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. AFTER LOOKING UP THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET, IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT CADILLAC HAS NOT ADDRESS. LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE HAS EVEN FILED A CLASS ACTION SUIT IN CALIFORNIA TO TRY AND GET THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED.
SLIP DETECTED IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL MODULE, DIFFERENTIAL AND CLUTCH FLUID MIX DUE TO SEAL DETERIORATION. REPLACED PISTON, SEAL AND FLUID AT 53,000 MILES ($1366.54 REPAIR BILL) SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THIS IS COMMON WITH THIS CAR AND MILEAGE.
MY FRONT HEADLIGHT ARE A HAZARD. I'VE HAD THE BULBS CHANGED MULTIPLE TIMES TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO GM, AND THEY AREN'T TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHT SEALS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 10, 2018 WHILE DRIVING CAR AT NIGHT I NOTICED HEADLIGHTS APPEARED TO BE ABOUT 50% DIMMER THAN THEY SHOULD BE. MY SISTER NOTICED ON A LATER NIGHT DRIVE AS WELL. TOOK CAR IN TO HAVE THEM REPAIRED 1/12/18 FOR $106.26. RETURNED CAR TO SAME PLACE ON 1/17/18 BECAUSE HEADLIGHTS WERE STILL NOT WORKING. THEY REMOVED AND REPLACED BOTH HEADLAMP BULBS FOR $416.66. I DON'T DRIVE THE CAR FREQUENTLY AT NIGHT BUT DID HAVE TO RETURN IN A 3RD TIME FOR SAME REASON ON 2/22/18. THE REPAIR SHOP REMOVED AND REPLACED BOTH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES AT THE COST OF $1,110.43. THIS TOTAL HEADLIGHT PROBLEM HAS COST ME $1,633.35. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND STATIONARY WHEN HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT FUCTIONING PROPERLY, ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAY, AND PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, IE- DIMMED HEADLIGHTS AT ALL TIMES
MOISTURE IN HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES DUE TO SEAL FAILURE
WHEN APPLING BRAKES THE PEDAL SOMETIMES GO TO THE FLOOR. AT DIFFERENT TIMES, WHILE DRIVING & WHILE SITTING STILL. SOMETIMES PEDAL GOING TO FLOOR FASTER THAN OTHER TIMES. I'VE READ ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT MY VIN # IS NOT COVERED IT SAYS. BUT I DO HAVE THE PROBLEM OR ONE SIMILAR
I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO CITY TRAFFIC WHEN THE BRAKES IN MY 2012 CADILLAC SRX FAILED. I ENDED UP REAR ENDING ANOTHER VEHICLE AT A VERY SLOW SPEED. WHEN WE PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. THERE WERE NO PHYSICAL INJURIES AS I WAS MAYBE GOING 2 OR 3 MPH. WE EXCHANGED INSURANCE INFORMATION. I NOTIFIED MY INSURANCE OF THE CLAIM AS WELL. I HAD BOUGHT MY DAUGHTER A 2010 CADILLAC SRX WHEN I BOUGHT MINE AND 6 WEEKS AGO SHE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BRAKE FAILURE BUT SHE WAS ABLE TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET HER CAR TO STOP. WE TOOK HER CAR TO ST. CLAIRE CADILLAC IN SANTA CLARA AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND NO ERROR CODES WERE IDENTIFIED IN THE ON BOARD COMPUTER. I SEARCHED THE WEB AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE INCIDENCES OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING WITH CADILLAC SRX MODELS BUT CADILLAC WILL NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM HAS RESULTED IN ANY DEATHS IF SO THE DRIVER MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. CADILLAC NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL BE SELLING MY SRX AND BUYING A TOYOTA.
NO DIM HEADLIGHTS
HEADLIGHTS ON NORMAL USE SETTING (NOT HI-BEAM) ARE ON BUT SO LOW BRIGHTNESS WISE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT USING THEM. YOU HAVE TO USE HI-BEAM ALL THE TIME WHICH IS A LARGER HAZARD FOR US AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. IN LOOKING CLOSELY AT THE HEADLIGHTS, THE SILVER PART TO MAKE THE REFLECTION WORK, IS ALL BLACK. REPLACING THE BULBS DOES NOTHING TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF VISION WHEN USING THE LIGHTS ON THE NORMAL SETTING. A LETTER WAS SENT TO REIMBURSE FOR REPLACEMENTS, HOWEVER, IT HAD TO BE USED IN A SHORT TIME FRAME AND WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO COME UP WITH MORE MONEY THAN WAS GOING TO BE REIMBURSED ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. THIS SHOULD BE A FULL BLOWN RECALL WITH ZERO OUT OF POCKET. IT IS DANGEROUS!
2012 CADILLAC SRX HAS DIM FRONT HEADLIGHTS. VERY DANGEROUS. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS ON, ALSO VERY DANGEROUS. NEED RESOLUTION OF SOME SORT FROM CADILLAC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DID NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VALENTI CADILLAC (99 LIEBERT RD, HARTFORD, CT 06120, (860)-967-3194) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
HEADLIGHTS DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, EVEN AFTER CHANGING THE LIGHT BULBS DRIVER CAN NOT SEE THE STREET (ROAD) AT NIGHT TIME.
I WAS DRIVING HOME AT DUSK. MY TWILIGHT SENSOR TURNED ON MY HEADLIGHTS. MY DRIVER SIDE LIGHT WENT OUT. 3 DAYS LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE WENT OUT. I CANNOT TURN ON HIGH OR LOW BEAMS. THERE IS MOISTURE IN THE LENS, BUT NOT WHERE THE HID BULB AND BALLASTS ARE. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AND STILL NO LIGHTS.
HE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT QUIT WORKING ON MY 2010 SRX LAST WEEK. THERE'S A LOT OF CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER TOLD ME THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY MUST HAVE BEEN BUMPED AND THE SEAL COMPROMISED. THE COST TO FIX IT IS $1,250 PLUS 2 HOURS LABOR AND TAX. THE CAR IS WITHIN THE TIME WARRANTY BUT OUTSIDE THE MILEAGE WARRANTY. HE WAS VERY CLEAR THAT GM WOULD NOT HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. I GUESS GM TRAINS THEIR DEALERS TO BLAME ALL PRODUCTS THAT PROVE DEFECTIVE AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES ON THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS MY THIRD CADILLAC AND I'VE HAD MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR THAN THE OTHER TWO COMBINED.

THE CONTACT CALLED KERRY TOYOTA IN FLORENCE, KY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESPOND. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,390.
THE LIFT GATE FELL DOWN ON ME WHILE GETTING PACKAGES OUT OF THE REAR IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT WAS TERRIFYING! ONCE AGAIN, THE LIFT GATE FELL DOWN ON MY DAUGHTER A FEW WEEKS LATER AT CVS PARKING LOT, TRAUMATIZING HER! SHE HAD HER BABY. I REPORTED TO TONIA GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT ASSISTANCE CLAIMS; CONCENTRIX ON BEHALF OF GENERAL MOTORS PHONE: 866-446-6963 X 5921511; THEY INVESTIGATED, AND "DETERMINED NO WARRANTY DEFECT". HOW MANY SACRIFICIAL LAMBS BEFORE A RECALL? SEWELL VILLAGE CADILLAC IN DALLAS TX, SALES AND FINANCE MANAGERS ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE HEARD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE DIM LIGHTS AND SAFETY CONCERNS. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS INVESTIGATED BECAUSE THE DEALER WANTS THE VEHICLE OWNER TO PAY FOR REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHTS, STATING THAT REFLECTIVE FINISH INSIDE THE HOUSING DOES FADE AND STOP PROJECTING THE LIGHT AS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED. OPENED REAR GATE HATCH AND REACHED INTO VEHICLE. REAR GATE ABRUPTLY STARTED CLOSING ON ITS OWN PINNING ME IN THE VEHICLE. HATCH WAS PRESSED AGAINST MY UPPER BACK AND UPPER RIGHT ARM AS I WAS TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. HATCH WOULD NOT STOP CLOSING AND CONTINUALLY KEPT BANGING MY BODY UNTIL I COULD SLITHER OUT FROM UNDERNEATH IT AND THEN IT FORCEFULLY SLAMMED SHUT. I AM A SENIOR FEMALE AND WAS PINNED FACED DOWN "VERY SCARY". I CALLED LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN WITHIN A HALF HOUR. THEY TOOK IT IN IMMEDIATELY, NO QUESTIONS ASKED AND REPLACED THE RIGHT STRUT. I INQUIRED IF THERE SHOULD BE ANY TYPE OF SAFETY FEATURES OR SENSORS TO PREVENT FROM HATCH CLOSING ON YOU AND THEY STATED NO. NEXT DAY LATER I AM VERY BRUISED AND SORE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING 75 MPH DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I HAD TO USE BLINKERS TO SEE LINE. THERE WAS VERY NOTICEABLE CONDENSATION/MOISTURE IN BOTH HEADLIGHTS.
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT CAUSES VERY POOR VISIBILITY. HAVE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND INFORMATION THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH CADILLAC SRX'S 2010-2015 MODELS. GM SHOULD HAVE A RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM.
HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY LOST ITS SEAL. ALLOWED MOISTURE INSIDE WHICH SHORTED OUT LOW AND HIGH BEAM ON DRIVER SIDE. HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. DEALER SAID IT WAS COMMON FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD COST $1400 TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED. PRESSED BUTTON TO HAVE REAR POWER LIFT GATE OPEN. AS IT WAS FULLY OPENING, I PUT ONE OF MY GROCERY BAGS IN THE REAR HATCH THE LIFT GATE POWERED DOWN ONTO MY HEAD WITHOUT WARNING. IT KNOCKED ME TO THE PARKING LOT. WITHOUT ANY DIRECTION FROM ME IT WENT PARTIALLY UP AND DOWN AGAIN AND THEN CLOSED FULLY. I GOT UP AND TRIED THE BUTTON AGAIN TO OPEN THE LIFT GATE. IT OPENED AND THEN JERKED DOWN AND THEN UP AND THEN CLOSED. IT STILL MALFUNCTIONS THIS WAY AND WON'T OPEN AND STAY OPENED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,650.

HEADLAMPS ON LOW ARE SO DIM IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I HAVE RUN OFF THE ROAD NUMEROUS TIMES
TWO CARS AHEAD OF ME WAS GOING STRAIGHT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN TURNED INTO A STRIP MALL WITHOUT INDICATOR, THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES AND SO DID I , BUT I STILL ENDED UP REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. I THINK MY SPEED WAS AROUND 30 AT THE TIME OF IMPACT. I HIT MY CHIN TO THE STEERING WHEEL. GOT MULTIPLE CUTS INSIDE OF MY MOUTH. AND COUPLE OF THEM ON MY FACE WHICH REQUIRED STITCHES. MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND NEITHER THE SEATBELT PREVENTED IT, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS ODD. CHECKED WITH CADILLAC IF HEY WERE AWARE OF ANY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THEY DENIED THE EXISTENCE OF SUCH AN ISSUE. SO I WANT TO GET THE VEHICLE INVESTIGATED , SO THAT NOBODY ELSE SHOULD GET HURT THE WAY I DID; ALSO I HAVE ANOTHER CADILLAC AND NEED TO KNOW. WILL REALLY APPRECIATE IT. THANKS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
I WAS LOADING ITEMS IN THE BACK WITH THE LIFT GATE OPEN WHEN IT SUDDENLY BEGAN TO CLOSE AND HIT ME BUT CONTINUED TO CLOSE, RETRACTING ONLY AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND A PHYSICAL BATTLE BETWEEN ME AND THE GATE. I RECEIVED A BRUISE ON MY ARM FROM THE BATTLE AND SAW MY LIFE FLASH BEFORE MY EYES. THE CAR WAS OFF AND STATIONARY IN MY YARD. IT WAS THE MOST FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
