TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT VEERED OFF THE ROAD IN BOTH DIRECTIONS AND CRASHED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V571000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
Headlights I been calling GM for years that you can’t drive with the low beam headlights at night it’s like having no headlights on . They say nothing no safety recall and I have read up on this issue and they say the halogen bulb gets so hot it burn the inside of headlight assembly and I would think this would be a safety recall . 1. Since owning the 2014 SRX the headlights are so dim to the point of not being able to use the vehicle at night or storms for fear of a crash. Now the Driver side HID Has failed along with the headlights housing to be cloudy on the inside. 2.Rear Door Hatch malfunction. Will not open or close with door switch , key fob or button on rear hatch door. I can open manually and close manually however this is a HUGE inconvenience as the rear door is so heavy. I’ve been told by the service department that it’s a design flaw from Cadillac Sunroof drain?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000. LOW BEAM LIGHTING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! THE LOW BEAMS ARE ON BUT APPEAR TO BE NOTHING MORE THAN RUNNING LIGHT. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND GM NEEDS TO FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE DIES!
The contact’s wife owns a 2014 Cadillac SRX. The contact initially received a warranty letter from the manufacturer that informed his wife that she may be reimbursed if she had the headlights replaced. Over time, the contact stated that while driving at night, the low-beam headlights would not provide adequate illumination for safe driving. The high-beam headlights were used to provide adequate illumination for safe driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who informed him they could offer no assistance with the headlight failure. The contact paid out of pocket to have the headlights repaired by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer offered no assistance after he was informed that he no longer qualified for the warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2014 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE SHIFTING LINKAGE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO IDLE BETWEEN THE PARK AND REVERSE GEARS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD ALSO INADVERTENTLY SHIFT BETWEEN PARK AND REVERSE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD UNINTENTIONALLY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SELECT THE CORRECT GEAR. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE VEHICLE WHEN THE REVERSE GEAR ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE NEIGHBOR'S FENCE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOEHN CADILLAC (LOCATED AT: 5334 PASEO DEL NORTE, CARLSBAD, CA 92008) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED AND THERE WAS NO DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.

THE CONTACT HAD TO ACTIVATE THE HIGH BEAMS IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WILLIAMSON CADILLAC (7815 SW 104TH ST, MIAMI, FL) WHERE THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. STABILITY SYSTEM ENGAGED IS HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY AND MORE FREQUENTLY EVEN IN SITUATIONS WHERE IT IS CLEARLY UNNEEDED - DRY, STRAIGHT ROAD WITH NO ACCELERATION OR DECELERATION. DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSIS EVEN WITH ROAD TEST. GM HOTLINE SENT ME BACK TO THE DEALER. SYSTEM ENGAGES RANDOMLY FOR A FEW SECOND AND THEN RELEASES. CAR JERKS TO ONE SIDE. VERY DISCONCERTING. WIFE WILL NO LONGER DRIVE CAR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERS, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

COLUMBIA AVENUE, BATTLE CREEK, MI 49015) AND ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED CADILLAC AUTHORIZED SUNSET CADILLAC DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS AT NO CHARGE. SOMETIMES WHILE ACCELERATING OUR 2014 CADILLAC SRX WILL FEEL TO STUDDER OR SKIP IN ECO MODE OR NOT. SOMETIMES WHILE AT A SLOW SPEED, 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE WILL HARD SHIFT WHILE ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING IN ECO AND NOT. SOMETIMES WHILE SLOWING THROUGH ABOUT 25 MPH THE VEHICLE WILL SURGE FORWARD VERY SLIGHTLY IN ECO AND NOT. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT 2013 MODELS OF THE SRX HAD SIMILIAR TRANSMISSION ISSUES. REFERENCING RECALL NUMBERS 14V212000 AND 13V097000 WITH DATES OF 04/25/2014 AND 03/15/2013, THESE RECALLS APPEAR TO DUPLICATE THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT WE'RE HAVING IN OUR 2014 SRX, LAG IN ACCELERATION AND TRANSMISSION RELATED ENGINE BRAKING EFFECT.
The low beams are so dim, the vehicle cannot be driven at night. Even after replacing both bulbs there was no change. Vehicle can only be driven with high beams on. The dealer knows of the issue and said replacement would be the same system with the same problem. GMC offered a partial reimbursement, but has not corrected the defective system. If their offer was accepted, you would have to sign an agreement not to do anything legal regarding the issue in the future.
I WAS IN A SEVERE CRASH AND SUFFERED A SEVERE CONCUSSION. MY RIBBON FLEW OFF MY HEAD WHEN I CAME TO, I DID LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS AND WOKE UP TO ON STAR TELLING ME MY VEHICLE WAS IN A CRASH. I HAVE SEVERE PAIN IN MY NECK SHOULDER, ABRASIONS TO THE LEFT SIDE OF MY BODY AND BRUISING. THE VEHICLE IS TOTALED BUT THE AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED AND IT SHOULD HAVE WITHOUT A DOUBT. THERE WAS SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE VEHICLE.
REAR WIPER SPUN 360 DEGREES AND WONT RESET TO PROPER ALIGNMENT. *TR
WHILE MAKING A 3 HOUR NON STOP DRIVE WITH THE DRIVER SEAT HEATER ON HIGH I RECEIVED SEVERE BURNS ON MY RIGHT THIGH. IT BLISTERED IN 2 OF THE 4 PLACES THAT THE SKIN WAS BURNED. *TR
3 YEARS AGO I COMPLAINED TO HOLMAN CADILLAC ABOUT MOISTURE IN HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH CAUSE DIM LIGHTING ON DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD LIGHT SETTING OFF ERROR MESSAGES AND THE LENS STARTED TO CRACK AND TO HELP RESOLVE THE ISSUE, I TAPE THE LENS. GM REFUSED REPAIR UNDER BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1,600.00 FOR THE REPLACEMENT.

DRIVING IN LIGHT SNOW/ICE AND EXTREME COLD (APPROXIMATELY 15 DEG F) CONDITIONS, WIPERS CONTINUALLY CLOGGED WITH ICE. WHILE THIS MAY APPEAR TO BE AN EXPECTED RESULT, THE DESIGN OF THE WIPER LOCATION BELOW THE POINT ON THE WINDSHIELD WHERE THE FRONT WINDOW DEFROSTER HITS THE WINDOW MAY HAVE EXACERBATED THE PROBLEM. SNOW AND ICE FROM THE WINDSHIELD MELTED, RAN DOWN WINDSHIELD TO THE WIPER LOCATION AND IMMEDIATELY REFROZE - RENDERING THE WIPERS INEFFECTIVE. CONTINUAL USE OF THE WIPERS (NOT INTERMITTENT) APPEARED TO SOMEWHAT AMELIORATE THE ISSUE. *TR

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A CEMENT POST AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND THE FRONT PASSENGER BOTH SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,999.
NIGHT DRIVING IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ON. THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE SO DIM THEY DO NOT GIVE SAFE VISION. SINCE WE HAVE HAD THE CAR,2014, WE ALWAYS FELT THE LIGHTS WERE TOO DIM. AT THE TIME THE DEALER SAID THERE REALLY WASN'T ANY REAL SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM. IF THEY REPLACED THEM THE SAME THING WOULD OCCUR. I SHOULD HAVE HAD MY CONCERNS AUTHENTICATED IN WRITING, BUT DIDN'T. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND AM WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE LAST TIME I TALKED TO THEM THEY SAID THEY HAD NO RECALL ISSUES DUE TO THE LIGHTS. I ASKED THEM TO REOPEN THE FILE ON 12/26/19. I AM WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM. THEY WILL CONTACT ME AGAIN ON 12/30/19. MY VEHICLE HAS THIS PROBLEM ALL THE TIME.THE POOR VISIBILITY IS A CONSTANT NO MATTER WHERE I DRIVE. IT IS ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC, SINCE I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY HIGH BEAM AS NOT TO CREATE A PROBLEM FOR ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE AVOIDED USING MY CAR AT NIGHT AS IT IS SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME AND THE ON COMING TRAFFIC. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP OR INSIGHT YOU MAY HAVE.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR ARE HORRIBLE, I HAVE A VERY HARD TIME SEEING AT NIGHT DUE TO THE LACK OF LIGHT FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. I AVOID DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT DUE TO THE DIFFICULTY IN SEEING DUE TO THE LIGHTS. I CAN SEE FINE WITH MY OTHER CAR. SOMETIMES I AM FORCED TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS WHEN I SHOULD USE MY LOW BEAMS DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE. IT IS SUCH A HAZARD AND SAFETY ISSUE, I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS CAR IS A CADILLAC. I HAVE NOT HAD AN INJURY OR DAMAGE YET.

Headlights extremely dim.Replacement of lights didn’t improve. I can only drive during the day. I can only drive with high beams if I had to drive at night or early morning. GMC made an offer to replace lights with same defective system & wanted a claim & release signed. For me not to be any part of legal proceedings against them.

THE CONTACT FELT A SLIGHT JERKING MOTION. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AFTER DUSK, THE HEADLAMPS FAILED TO ADEQUATELY ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCKHART CADILLAC (9265 E 126TH ST, FISHERS, IN 46038, (317) 759-7785) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEADLAMPS CONFORMED TO U.S. SAFETY STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A REPLACEMENT LOW BEAM CONVERSION KIT THAT MAY UPGRADE THE REDUCED HEADLAMP ILLUMINATION. THE KIT WAS INSTALLED, BUT FAILED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I AM ONLY GUESSING THE YEAR BECAUSE IT IS NOT MY VEHICLE. I WANT TO ALERT THE NHTSB TO WHAT I CONSIDER A SAFETY DEFECT IN THIS VEHICLE. THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS ARE EXCESSIVELY BRIGHT TO THE POINT OF AFFECTING THE VISION OF SOMEONE FOLLOWING THIS VEHICLE. LAST NIGHT I WAS FOLLOWING ONE OF THESE IN A LINE OF CARS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE SO BRIGHT IT AFFECTED MY ABILITY TO SEE THE ROAD. SINCE THIS IS AN SUV OF SORTS, IT WAS MADE WORSE BY THE HIGH MOUNTING OF NOT ONLY THE NORMAL LIGHTS BUT THE CENTER BRAKE LIGHT. I CAN UNDERSTAND THE NEED TO HAVE BRAKE LIGHTS VISIBLE AND CERTAINLY ON A FOGGY NIGHT THEY WOULD BE USEFUL, BUT FOR NORMAL CLEAR DRIVING LIKE LAST NIGHT THEY ARE TOO BRIGHT AND CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AS THE BRIGHTNESS AFFECTS THE VISION OF THE PERSON FOLLOWING THE VEHICLE. AS I MENTIONED, I DO NOT KNOW THE YEAR AND DIDN'T THINK TO GET THE LICENSE NUMBER BUT THE 2 MARKINGS WERE "SRX" AND EITHER "315" OR MORE LIKELY "3.5". EVEN WITH MY HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WHICH WERE NEEDED TO COUNTERACT THE EFFECT OF THE HIGH BRIGHTNESS BRAKE LIGHTS IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MAKE OUT THE 3.5. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED, THE LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM MAKING AND CAUSING THE CONTACT DIFFICULTY IN SEEING PAST 50 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE CONTACT (C) WAS BACKING SRX DOWN THE APPROX 40 DEGREE UPSLOPE 100' LONG DRIVEWAY CURVED AT BOTTOM. SURFACES WERE DRY & IT WAS SUNNY. C PURCHASED SRX NEW (NAVIGATION, DRIVER AWARENESS & DRIVER ASSIST) IN LATE 12/13. C &/OR SPOUSE HAVE BACKED SRX DOWN DRIVEWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT 100 PLUS TIMES. C & SPOUSE ENTERED SRX, ADJUSTED SEATS & MIRROR, & BUCKLED SEAT BELTS. C DEPRESSED BRAKE PEDAL & PUSHED START BUTTON. WHILE RETAINING PRESSURE ON BRAKE, C SHIFTED TRANSMISSION SELECTOR INTO R, 'REVERSE.' THE BACK-UP CAMERA DISPLAY APPEARED. IMMEDIATELY, SRX BEGAN TO ROLL DOWN DRIVEWAY. ROLLING CONTINUED DESPITE INCREASING BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE EXERTED. C WAS STANDING ON BRAKE PEDAL TO GET SRX TO RESPOND TO FULL STOP. VIEWING THE BACK-UP CAMERA DISPLAY, C ATTEMPTED TO STEER SRX SO AS TO AVOID ENTERING STREET. SRX WAS STOPPED BY IMPACTING RETAINING WALL ON LEFT SIDE OF DRIVEWAY. ONCE SRX HAD STOPPED, C (WITH BRAKE PEDAL STILL DEPRESSED) WAS ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS & MOVE SRX FROM DRIVEWAY. C TESTED SRX BY DRIVING FORWARDS & BRAKING & NOTED NO ISSUES. SRX WAS DEALER INSPECTED. DEALER INDICATED THAT IT: "COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONCERN. CHECKED FOR BULLETINS, NO RELATED BULLETINS. INSPECTED BRAKE FLUID FOR LEAKS, NO LEAKS. NO STORED DTC'S." RE: SRX'S HILL START ASSIST FEATURE, WHICH HOLDS SRX FOR MAXIMUM OF TWO SECS SO DRIVER MAY MOVE FROM BRAKE TO ACCELERATOR WITHOUT RISK OF ROLLING - FEATURE DOES NOT FUNCTION. DEALER VERBALLY STATED THAT ON STEEP HILLS, SRX SHOULD BE DRIVEN WITH TWO FEET, ONE ON BRAKE & ONE ON ACCELERATOR. FOR THIS REPORT, C NEVER USED ACCELERATOR & NEVER REMOVED FOOT FROM BRAKE PEDAL. C BELIEVES SRX SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT RISK OF ROLLING & BRAKES & TRANSMISSION FAILED & SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. CRASH RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO LEFT MIRROR, LEFT CHROME VENT & LEFT REAR WHEEL WELL. VEHICLE DRIVING HEADLIGHTS PROVIDE EXTREMELY LOW LEVEL OF ROAD ILLUMINATION WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SUCH THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO SWITCH TO HIGH BEAM IN ORDER TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD SUFFICIENTLY TO DRIVE SAFELY! CADILLAC DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE LIGHTING LEVEL IS ACCEPTABLE. AS YOU KNOW, DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAMS CAN BE DANGEROUS AS WELL WHEN ON LOCAL ROADS AND NEIGHBORHOODS IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD SAFELY.
I have has headlight problems since 2014. Replaced bulbs, no difference. I have to drive with high beam on at night. Dealer can only replace with same problem type lights. GMC knows of the problem. There is no permanent repair for the issue.
HEADLIGHTS WHILE ON LOW BEAM I CAN NOT SEE. THE HEADLINES ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH. I CAN BARLEY SEE OVER THE HOOD. IT IS THE SAME WEATHER I AM IN MOTION OR NOT ALSO WEATHER IT ON THE HIGHWAY CITY OR ETC. IT DOES NOT MATTER

HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SEE AT NIGHT. NEED TO USE HIGH BEAMS IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT. CAN'T SEE PERIPHERAL VISION. CAN ONLY SEE STRAIGHT AHEAD WITH MINIMAL DISTANCE. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AND I TRY TO AVOID DRIVING AT NIGHT AT ALL COST. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED BY CADILLAC IMMEDIATELY SO NO ONE GETS INJURED.
Most owners complain to Cadillac but not to NHTSA Cadillac is aware. Low beam headlights on these vehicles are un safe. Especially in drizzle or darkness. This should be urgent!!!! Head light bulb is so hot, it burns the chrome plating off the inside of the headlight assembly. Once chrome is gone, so is the reflectivity needed to project the light through the magnifier and on to the street. Extremely dangerous situation.. This problem has been confirmed and is well known by the manufacturer. This puts everyone in and around the SRX in grave danger. This has been inspected by many mechanics.
