HEADLIGHTS EXTREMELY DIM AT NIGHT
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT THEY ARE BARELY SEEN BY ONCOMING DRIVERS. ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE RUNNING BRIGHT LIGHTS IN ORDER TO SEE THEREBY BLINDING THE OTHER DRIVERS COMING AT ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLAMPS FAILED TO ADEQUATELY ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HI-BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE USED TO DRIVE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH MOORE CADILLAC CHANTILLY (25450 PLEASANT VALLEY RD, CHANTILLY, VA 20152, (703) 939-9351) WHO STATED THAT THE HEADLAMP HOUSINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.*DT CONSUMER STATES THAT THE FAILURE HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON 3/13/2018.

The contact stated that the headlamps were no longer properly illuminating the roadway while driving, causing the contact to use the hi-beam headlamps while driving. The local dealer was contacted and stated that the headlamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the headlight housings were filled with water causing the illumination from the headlights to be very dim. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and advised the contact to pay for the repairs and then there would be a reimbursement offer. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

UNABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE AT NIGHT DUE TO MALFUNCTIONING LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THEY APPEAR TO BE ON BUT ONLY PRODUCE AN EXTREMELY DIM LIGHT. SO DIM IT'S AS IF THEY ARE NOT ON AT ALL. THIS FORCES YOU TO USE HIGH BEAMS WHICH BLINDS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND APPARENTLY A PROBLEM FOR MOST SRX OWNERS. AMAZINGLY THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS DEADLY MECHANICAL FAILURE.
CUE SCREEN SPIDER WEB CRACKS, NOW NOT FUNCTIONING AT ALL, CAN NOT USE RADIO, BLUE TOOTH, OR TEMPERATURE CONTROLS. IT CONSTANTLY CHANGES THE LANGUAGE OF MY ENTIRE CONTROLS TO DIFFERENT LANGUAGES ON ITS OWN AND THE SCREEN JUMPS BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN CONTROLS BUT NONE OF THE CONTROLS WORK. I AM NOW ON MY SECOND CRACKED SCREEN
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT VERY LOW REPLACED BULB AND STILL GOES DIM. MOISTURE GETS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY.
CADILLAC DIVISION, GM LLC C/O ANALYTICS CONSULTING LLC CLAIM NUMBER: 1218800 WE RECEIVED A LETTER REFERENCING ISSUES WITH MOISTURE TO ACCUMULATE IN HEADLAMP CAPSULES AND/OR DIMMING HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP PAY THE $800/$1600 AND GET REIMBURSED WITH 90 DAYS. IF THE HEADLIGHT CAPSULES ARE FAULTY WOULD IT BE MORE PRODUCTIVE TO RECALL THE HEADLIGHTS CAPSULES AND REPLACE THEM FOR FREE. OUR HEADLIGHTS NEED TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER PAY $1600. IS OUT OF THE QUESTIONS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THEY JUST TRANSFER ME TO ANALYTICS CONSULTING LLC WHO INSIST THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT MUST BE DONE FIRST FOR REIMBURSEMENT. PER THE ANALYTICS CONSULTING CONSULTANT AND PHONE RECORDING THE DEADLINE FOR REIMBURSEMENT WAS JUNE 30TH WHICH WAS DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE VIRUS. AGAIN BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHT CAPSULES IS FAULTY A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED SO THAT IN THESE UNCERTAIN ECONOMIC TIMES CAN GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED WITH OUT HAVING TO COME OUT OF POCKET $800/$1600. BECAUSE OF THE DIMNESS OF THE HEADLIGHTS I AM CAUTIOUS ABOUT DRIVING AFTER DUSK, AND I USE MY HIGH BEAMS.

The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that moisture had leaked into the headlight module on the driver’s and passenger’s side. Due to the failure, the headlights were very dim while in use. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where and the headlights were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
CADILLAC SENT ME A LETTER ADVISING THAT MY CAR MAY HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MOISTURE IN THE HEADLIGHTS. THEIR PROPOSED SOLUTION IS TO HAVE ME PAY MY DEALER JUST TO INSPECT THE CAR, THEN PAY THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS IF NECESSARY, THEN FILE A CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM CADILLAC, WHICH THEY MAY OR MAY NOT APPROVE. MY DEALER CONFIRMED THAT PROCESS AND TOLD ME THAT MY OUT OF POCKET COST WOULD BE ABOUT $1,700.00. SHOULDN'T THIS BE SAFETY RECALL THAT CADILLAC WOULD FIX WITHOUT ME HAVING TO PAY FIRST AND THEN WAIT FOR MONTHS TO POSSIBLY BE REIMBURSED? THANKS FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.
HEADLIGHT MOISTURE IS CAUSING VERY POOR VISIBILITY. IN MARCH OF 2019, I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND THAT IF I WANTED TO HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS REPLACED, I COULD BY PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET AND THEN WOULD BE REIMBURSED. THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FOR 2011 - 2015 MODELS. MY VEHICLE IS 2015. AT THE TIME THAT I RECEIVED THE LETTER, THERE WAS NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF A PROBLEM, CHECKED BY MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND WHO IS VERY GOOD WITH CARS. NOW, LESS THAN 1 YEAR LATER, I CAN'T EVEN TELL WHEN MY HEADLIGHTS ARE ON. IF I AM NOT DRIVING ON A ROAD THAT HAS STREET LIGHTS, I CANNOT SEE. IT'S A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. GIVEN THAT I MAINLY TRAVEL ON ROADS THAT HAVE STREET LIGHTS, I WAS UNAWARE OF THE DETERIORATED SITUATION UNTIL VERY RECENTLY. I CONTACTED CADILLAC WHO OFFERED ME NO SOLUTION ASIDE FROM TAKING IT IN TO GET IT DIAGNOSED AT A COST TO ME. THEN I AM SUPPOSED TO CALL THEM BACK SO THAT THEY CAN SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO, NO PROMISES OF ANY TYPE OF MONETARY REIMBURSEMENT. SO BASICALLY, I GOT NOWHERE WITH CADILLAC WHO SEEMS TO BE MORE CONCERNED WITH THEIR BOTTOM LINE THAN SAFETY. THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. THINK OF IT THIS WAY, 2011 OWNERS HAD A LONG ENOUGH TIME TO SEE THAT THE HEADLIGHTS/COVERS WOULD EVENTUALLY GET MOISTURE IN THEM CAUSING THE PROBLEM, BUT 2015 OWNERS HAD A MUCH SHORTER WINDOW OF TIME. THE COST TO REPLACE THEM IS ABOUT $1500, WHICH I DIDN'T SPEND GIVEN THAT WHEN I RECEIVED THE LETTER, THERE WAS NO ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT OCCURS GRADUALLY OVER TIME AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY WAY OF A RECALL SO THAT CADILLAC HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND BACK THEIR PRODUCT BY MAKING THE SITUATION RIGHT. TAKING THE SAFETY OF CADILLAC OWNERS AS A SERIOUS MATTER AS OPPOSED TO TRYING TO SAVE MONEY BY NOT DOING A VOLUNTARY RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAULKNER CADILLAC (4447 E STREET RD, FEASTERVILLE-TREVOSE, PA 19053) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAL IN THE HEADLIGHTS CAUSED THE LOW VISIBILITY FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR ARE EXTREMELY DIM, WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT WHERE THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS, IT IS AS IF I HAVE NO HEADLIGHTS ON AT ALL. I DRIVE RIVER ROAD HOME NIGHTLY AND I HAVE NEARLY MISSED MY TURN ONTO THE STREET AND INTO A DITCH BECAUSE IT IS SO DARK. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT THIS AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE HEADLIGHTS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY CADILLAC SRX ARE VERY DIM. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE IN THE DARK WITHOUT USING THE BRIGHTS. A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT HAS BEEN HANDLED IN CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA BUT NOTHING DONE ANYWHERE ELSE. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CADILLAC BUT WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND IN THE PLANNING PROCESS FOR THE REMEDY. PER MY RESEARCH, THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ALLOWING MOISTURE TO GET INSIDE WHICH IS CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LIGHTS AND WIRING. THE LIGHTS ARE NOT OUT BUT JUST GO DIM. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE IF REPLACING THE BULB WOULD HELP AND THEY STATED THAT THE ENTIRE UNIT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. AT THIS POINT, MY LIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS BECOMING NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE IN THE DARK IN UNLIT AREAS. I WAS HOPING THAT CADILLAC WOULD SHOW RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE BUT IT APPEARS THEY ARE WAITING ON YOUR DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE A RECALL. PER THE DEALERSHIP, THIS ISSUE COULD COST BETWEEN $1800-$3000 TO FIX AND THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE PROCESS AND IN NO WAY THINK THAT ONE COMPLAINT MERITS A RECALL BUT IT IS MY HOPE THAT YOUR DEPARTMENT, OR THE GOVERNING AGENCY, WILL LOOK INTO THIS ONGOING ISSUE. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN PROVIDE ANY MORE INFORMATION. I WOULD LIKE TO BE HELPFUL IN HOPES OF GETTING THIS ISSUE FIXED WITHOUT SPENDING THOUSANDS OF MY OWN MONEY.

THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.*BF*JB
DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT LAMPS,HAVE DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ON AT NIGHT,GENERAL MOTORS NEGLECTING TO RECALL THIS SAFETY VIOLATION.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 1/25/2020. IT WAS DAYLIGHT WHEN I PAID FOR IT AND DROVE IT 2 HOURS TO HOME WITH LOW BEAM LIGHTS THAT MADE DRIVING VERY HAZARDOUS. I WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT IF THEY HAD STILL BEEN OPENED AND I HADN'T PAID CASH. PLEASE RECALL THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES ON VIRGINIA COUNTY ROADS AND A WRONGFUL DEATH SUITE IS FILED.

WHILE OPERATING THE 2015 SRX4 LAST NIGHT ON AN INTERSTATE THEN TWO LANE STATE ROAD IN A LIGHT RAIN, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BARELY ILLUMINATED THE ROADWAY. THE BRIGHTS WERE FINE BUT WHEN MEETING ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND SWITCHING TO LOW BEAM, IT WAS IF THE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING AT ALL. THERE WERE SEVERAL TIMES THAT I COULD NOT EVEN SEE THE PAINTED LINES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSETTLING. TODAY I FIND ONLINE THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LOW BEAMS BEING UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS. I CONCUR. THE POOR QUALITY OF LIGHTING WILL END UP CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR GETTING SOMEONE KILLED. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM TO CADILLAC AND GM.

WHILE DRIVING, HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM AT NIGHT THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE A SHORT DISTANCE AHEAD ON CITY TREETS OR HIGHWAYS. APPARENTLY MOISTURE GETS INTO THE LIGHT FIXTURE. CADILLAC HAD A RECALL FOR IT FOR 90 DAYS. THE PROBLEM DIDN'T OCCUR UNTIL MONTHS AFTER IT CLOSED. RECALL CLAIM 1022551. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REQUIRED RECALL OR AT LEAST OPEN IF THE ISSUE OCCURRED.
TODAY, I PAID $1789.01 AT RON CARTER CADILLAC DEALERSHIP, FRIENDSWOOD, TX, TO REPLACE TWO HEADLAMPS ON MY 2015 CADILLAC SRX. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP THAT LIGHTS WERE SO DIM ON CAR THAT I COULD BARELY SEE AT NIGHT. IT PAINED ME TO PAY FOR THIS, ESPECIALLY WHEN I FOUND OUT IT HAS BEEN AN ONGONG PROBLEM AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. I EXPECTED BETTER QUALITY FROM CADILLAC.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BURNS TO HER GLUTES. THERE WAS NO MEDICAL ATTENTION SOUGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER (MICHAEL CADILLAC LOCATED AT 5787 N BLACKSTONE AVE, FRESNO, CA 93710 (559) 431-6008) WHERE IT WAS PENDING TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000.
HEADLIGHT HAS BECOME VERY DEEM AND DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART.WAS TOLD TO GIVE 2000 USD AND BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST TO HAVE HEADLIGHTS REPAIRED.THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS MODEL IS A PROBLEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AT 20-25 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DIM AND FAILED TO PRODUCE ADEQUATE LIGHT TO VIEW THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CADILLAC DEALER (1507 W OGDEN AVE, NAPERVILLE, IL 60540 (630) 355-2700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BULB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO PROVIDED CASE NUMBER 9-566-3842749 AND INFORMED THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,965.
2015 SRX HEADLIGHT ISSUE IN JANUARY 2020, WE NOTICED THAT THE LOW BEAMS ON OUR VEHICLE NO LONGER CAST SUFFICIENT LIGHT TO BE ABLE TO ADEQUATELY SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT. THE BEAMS ARE SO DIM THERE IS NO DISCERNIBLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LIGHTS BEING ON, OR OFF WHEN ON THE LOW BEAM SETTING. THE HIGH BEAMS APPEARED TO BE UNAFFECTED. I BEGAN RESEARCHING THE ISSUE ON LINE AND LEARNED THAT THE 2010 TO 2016 SRX MODELS ALL HAD THIS DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING DEFECT. ACCORDING TO MULTIPLE REPORTS AND EXPLANATIONS, INCLUDING INFORMATION DERIVED FROM CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS, THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES, WHICH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SEALED, WERE DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED IN A WAY THAT ALLOWS MOISTURE TO ACCUMULATE INSIDE THE SEALED ASSEMBLY, CAUSING MULTIPLE PROBLEMS THAT RESULT IN LOW BEAM FAILURE. IT APPEARS THAT ADDITIONAL CLASS ACTION SUITS HAVE BEEN FILED. I HAVE NOT FOUND ANY DETAILS ON THOSE ADDITIONAL SUITS. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A KNOWN, RECURRING, SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, NHTSA SHOULD IMMEDIATELY INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE, PUBLISH ITS FINDINGS AND TAKE WHATEVER ACTION IS APPROPRIATE TO COERCE GM TO FIX THE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING ISSUES WITH THESE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES, AND REPLACE THEM ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES THROUGH A NATIONWIDE RECALL AT NO EXPENSE TO OWNERS OF ITS SRX VEHICLES. SEE ATTACHED, MORE COIMPLETE DESCRIPTION.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY CAR ARE VERY DIM. IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE ANYTHING AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE BRIGHTS. THE BRIGHTS DO OPERATE NORMALLY. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS TO HALOGEN TYPE AT MY OWN EXPENSE BUT IT DID NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THE LEFT LIGHT SEEMS DIMMER THAN THE RIGHT ONE BUT BOTH ARE VERY DIM. THIS IS A TERRIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC DEALER AND THEIR ONLY SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES AT GREAT COST OVER $2000 WITH THE SAME ASSEMBLIES THAT HAVE FAILED. READING PROBLEM DESCRIPTIONS ONLINE I FIND THAT THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY SEALS ARE BAD AND WATER ENTERS THE "SEALED" ASSEMBLY THEREBY CAUSING CONDENSATION THAT DIMS THE LIGHTS.
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, WHEN ON DIM LIGHTING, CANNOT SEE ANYTHING. VERY DANGEROUS.
THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE THE LIGHTS ARE OFF WHEN I AM DRIVING AT NIGHT. I MUST TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS TO SEE NORMALLY AT NIGHT WHEN WE DRIVE. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE TO HAVE LIGHTS REPLACED AFTER WE PAY $800 A PIECE AT CADILLAC DEALER. I WAS ILL AND COULD NOT TAKE THE CAR IN TO HAVE THE ISSUE CORRECTED. AFTER MY SURGERY AND MY RECOVERY TIME I CALLED THE CADILLAC DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL NOTICE HAD EXPIRED AND THEY COULD NOT HONOR IT! I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE WITH NO TIME RESTRAINTS..
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving at night, the front headlights failed to adequately illuminate the roadway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the headlights to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The contact attempted to call the manufacturer but was unable to speak to with an authorized representative. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.
Bought this car used, first time after dark realized headlights were not shining well enough to drive. We parked the vehicle until we could purchase and replace complete headlamp assembly. Multiple internet sites were found where other owners had same issue. We paid $300 for a set of replacement assembly and installed ourselves, otherwise it would have cost $1000 at the dealer. We went with this option because Cadillac items were not recommended, as they would fog up again in a short amount of time.
MOISTURE HAS DEVELOPED IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, CORRODING THE REFLECTIVE ELEMENTS AND MAKING VISION AT NIGHT VERY DIM AND UNSAFE. THIS HAPPENS UNDER ANY CONDITIONS REQUIRING HEADLIGHTS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS IF NOT MORE-SIMPLE GOOGLE UP CADILLAC SRX HEADLIGHT PROBLEM. GM HAS REIMBURSED A FEW OWNERS AS A RESULT OF A LAWSUIT LIMITED TO A COUPLE OF STATES, BUT HAS NOT OWNED THE PROBLEM. PLEASE LOOK MORE INTO THIS ISSUE.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM HAVE BECOME SO DULL TO CREATE A SAFETY ISSUE WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY. MECHANIC CLAIMS THAT THE BULBS AR OK AND DOESN'T KNOW WHY. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME COMPLAINT AND FEEL THAT GM SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT.
WHILE DRIVING AFTER DARK, HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY LOW BRIGHTNESS. I COULD BARELY SEE THE ROAD LINES AND DRIVING IN THE RAIN , I HAD TO USE MY HIGH BEAMSTO SEE THE HIGHWAY ROAD MARKINGS.
THE HEADLIGHT IS DIMMER AT NIGHT AND VISIBILITY IS VERY LOW.

SHAHEEN CADILLAC (5901 S PENNSYLVANIA AVE, LANSING, MI 48911, (517) 393-5600) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS WELL KNOWN AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM ITS LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE ANY HEADLIGHTS ON AT ALL. THE HIGH BEAMS WORK PERFECT. ITS VERY DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT SINCE THE LIGHTS DON'T WORK PROPERLY.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND CADILLAC NORWOOD (700 PROVIDENCE HWY, NORWOOD, MA 02062) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
MY HEADLIGHTS GRADUALLY BECAME MORE DARKENED WHERE I DIDN'T REALIZE THEY WEREN'T WORKING PROPERLY. I EVENTUALLY STARTED RUNNING OFF THE ROAD ON CURVES. MY SON THOUGHT THEY WEREN'T EVEN TURNED ON WHEN HE DROVE IT. I DID RECEIVE A LETTER ABOUT MOISTURE CAUSING SOME PROBLEMS IN ILLUMINATION BUT THEY NEVER EXHIBITED MOISTURE THAT I COULD TELL. I FINALLY TOOK IT IN AND THE DEALER SAID ALL THE REFLECTIVE MATERIAL HAD FALLEN OFF. IT COST $1700 TO REPLACE WITH BASICALLY THE SAME CONFIGURATION OF HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE SENT IN MY LETTER WITH THE BILL BUT HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING BACK SINCE SENDING IN LATE OCTOBER.
MOISTURE COLLECTS IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH CAUSES THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT EFFECTIVENESS TO SERIOUSLY REDUCED. THE LUMENS PROJECTED ONTO THE ROAD ARE SO LOW THAT IT IS ALMOST LIKE DRIVING WITHOUT YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON. THIS PRESENTS A SERIOUS NIGHT DRIVING SAFETY SITUATION. THE DEALER AND GM ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT DESIGN BUT WILL DO NOTHING TO CORRECT IT.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 AT NIGHT, WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, LEGALLY FORBIDDING THE USE OF HI-BEAMS, A DEER, I BELIEVE, SUDDENLY CROSSED THE ROAD, 50-75 FEET IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. THE LOW BEAMS ON THE VEHICLE ARE SO POOR I WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE DEER UNTIL IT WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES AND VIOLENTLY SWERVE TO THE RIGHT, LEAVING THE ROAD SURFACE IN A SIDEWAYS SLIDE, CROSSING THE SHOULDER AND FINALLY STOPPING ON THE GRASS, HEADING DOWN HILL, ONLY INCHES FROM A POST. THIS LACK OF EFFICIENT HEAD LIGHTING, NOW KNOWN TO BE FROM HEADLIGHT UNIT SEAL FAILURE LEADING TO LOW LIGHT LEVELS FROM THE PROJECTORS, CAUSED THIS ACCIDENT. THE PASSENGER STRUCK HER HEAD ON THE PASSENGER WINDOW AND SUFFERED A BUMP AND BRUISE TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF HER HEAD. IT IS NOW MY UNDERSTANDING THAT MITIGATING THIS SEAL FAILURE WILL COST ME ABOUT $1600.00 AT THE CADILLAC DEALER. ADDITIONALLY, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ONLY REPLACEMENT AVAILABLE FROM CADILLAC IS THE SAME UNIT THAT HAS FAILURES AND THAT NO UPGRADED UNIT HAS BEEN MADE. ADDITIONALLY, I UNDERSTAND THAT CADILLAC HAS BEEN FOUND LIABLE IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THESE FAULTY HEADLIGHTS IN FLORIDA AND CALIFORNIA, HOWEVER, NOT IN MY STATE OF RESIDENCE, ALTHOUGH, COINCIDENTALLY, MY ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN FLORIDA. THESE 300,000 VEHICLES NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED FROM MODEL YEARS 2010 TO 2016, AS THEY ALL USE THE SAME HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME, UNLESS ALREADY OCCURRED, UNTIL LOSS OF LIFE IS SUFFERED FROM THESE INADEQUATE HEADLIGHT UNITS. MY PARTNER, THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF THIS VEHICLE, IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND WILL NOT DRIVE IT IN ANY CONDITION OTHER THAN DAYLIGHT, CAUSING HARDSHIP ON US.

THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A TOE ADJUSTER LINK FAILURE AND REPLACED THE TOE LINK. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REACH THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH A REPRESENTATIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,462. *BF *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AT NIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND MY FRIEND INFORMED ME THAT MY HEAD LIGHTS DID NOT LOOK LIKE THEY WERE ON AT ALL. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, I ASKED ANOTHER FRIEND TO DRIVE AHEAD OF ME ON A DARK CITY STREET AND TELL ME IF MY LIGHTS WERE ON. HIS RESPONSE WAS, "YES THEY ARE, BUT VERY DIM. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT YOU DRIVING AT NIGHT"!!
WE DRIVE A 2015 CADILLAC SRX. I WORK IN REAL ESTATE AND WENT OUT TO ONE OF MY HOMES TO REMOVE THE SIGNAGE AFTER THE HOME HAD SOLD AND WHEN I WENT TO LET UP THE HATCH TO PLACE THE SIGN IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE THE HATCH WOULD NOT OPEN. AFTER SEVERAL FAILED ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO OPEN THE HATCH FROM THE PUSH BUTTON AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY THE BUTTON ON THE INSIDE OF THE DRIVERS DOOR, STILL NOTHING IT WILL NOT OPEN. DID SOME RESEARCH, SPOKE WITH SOME OTHER GMC/CADILLAC OWNERS AND MECHANICS WE WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLES AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE EITHER. AND DURING OUR RESEARCH WE WAS TOLD THAT WATER LEAKS INTO THE AREA WHERE OF WHICH THE LIFT GATE MODULE KIT IS STORED ON THE LEFT REAR OF THE VEHICLE THIS OF COURSE IF WHAT MADE THE COMPUTER BOARD TO BURN OUT. LOOKED UP TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS AND LIKE SEVERAL OTHER ISSUES WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM EITHER.

WE HAVE REPLACED THE BULB IN OUR HEADLIGHTS SEVERAL TIME AND THIS DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. WE RESEARCHED AND DID NOT FIND A RECALL ABOUT THIS, WHICH WAS SURPRISING BECAUSE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. THIS HAPPENS ANYTIME THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON, WHETHER YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, SITTING IN THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY OR PARKING LOT AT ANYTIME WHEN YOU TURN THE LOW BEAMS ON FOR THE HEADLIGHTS THE REMAIN DIM AND DOES NOT PROJECT LIGHT ENOUGH RANGE OF LIGHT TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY WHILE THE LOW BEAMS ARE IN USE. VERY FRUSTRATING AND NERVE RATTLING.
